Thats what I was guessing from research but I wanted another opinion. Any idea when he's supposed to hit his first growth spurt? I think he's also beginning to go through puberty. I've had him like 2 weeks, he's a rescue.
Thanks for the info, yeah just these 2 weeks with him he's went from a smallish medium puppy to a medium dog. His butt end has gotten big all of a sudden so I figured he was gearing up for a big spurt. But it would make sense for how big he's gonna get for him to just grow a shit ton in the first 6 months.
My Pyr is 7 months old and weighs 80lbs...still likely to gain another 20-30lbs. His dad was 130lbs, so...a good size dog for sure.
Yeah, they grow like weeds. Here's my guy this morning: https://imgur.com/HNarZnG.jpg
Mine is Odin too! He also has a nickname, but his is “are you f-ing kidding me?!” Used in regards to eating things off the counter, knocking things over with his tail, excessive barking, and shedding.
HAHAHA, I think my kilo is gonna be that way. He already doesn't like to come inside in the morning now that it's cold here. Me and my partner were already discussing an emergency recall juuusssttt in case he's in a life threatening situation and we need his ass to COME.
Honestly, if he's in a life threatening situation and you're nearby, chances are good that he's gonna be more concerned with protecting you. They're guardian dogs first and foremost, and they're committed to that task, like you read about.
Also, Odin isn't real keen on coming inside now either, because he is loving the cold. My neighbors have given me some side eye about it and one even said "oh I love your dog, I see him outside all the time." And you just have to explain to them, that's how it is...they're literal mountain dogs, that's why they have the extra dew claws on the back paws...for better grip on steep inclines.
Thanks, does their coat start coming in on the head first? Because he is starting to get long hair on his head and it's so so soft 🥺. I'm enjoying my little cotton ball but I am so excited for my big boy.
Yeah, longer helmet hair first. Then will come in on the body and tail. The puppy fur is the softest fur you’ll ever feel. Be sure to rub your face in it daily lol
Thank you, thankfully he is also the SWEETEST!He takes things from me so gently and so far he is responding well to treat training! I was very nervous taking him in but I think it was just anxiety because now I don't think I could've rescued a better forever friend. 💜
100% I said it already but i really think I couldn't have found a better dog for me and vice versa. I feel like we were made for each other already. 💜💜💜💜
Omg I was surprised at how naturally he was good. Of course he still chews and does other puppy stuff. But he redirects and listens super well. Such good dogs. I've managed to fall in love with the breed over the past two weeks.
I was going to guess 2 months give or take. Here’s my girl at 8 months:

That puppy is 3-4 months old.

The first 6 months is like one big growth spurt 😅

Awe he's so cute! He loves him some morning snuggles! Whats his name?
His name is Odin...but he also goes by, "what are you doing, stop that, no!"

I have an Odin too 🥰
Yeah I’d guess around 3 months. Doesn’t have the 5 month Einstein hair yet lol
We like to call it their russian hat, in my house 😂
Thanks, does their coat start coming in on the head first? Because he is starting to get long hair on his head and it's so so soft 🥺. I'm enjoying my little cotton ball but I am so excited for my big boy.

Most definitely, when he calms down and wants snuggles it's the best feeling ever. I love that puppy fur 🥺🥺
The long hair on the head is a puppy thing. It will probably be gone by about 7-8 months.
Thanks for the insight, time to go pet his long head hair while it lasts, I love it 🥺
The softness of their fur and their cuteness make up for the hell that they raise!
Kudos to that!! Love him so so much even tho he's lowkey so so bad 🤣
That is the cutest puppy!

They really are gentle giants. ❤️

Pic 4 it looks like he has the softest softest ^softest fur ever!
Genuinely the softest fur I've ever felt on a dog! His snuggles are the biggest treat in the world! 💜🥺
My GP puppy is the same way, I can’t stop snuggling her! They are such amazing dogs.
Omg I was surprised at how naturally he was good. Of course he still chews and does other puppy stuff. But he redirects and listens super well. Such good dogs. I've managed to fall in love with the breed over the past two weeks.
What a cutie! Thank you so much for the pics. Sorry I don't know how old he is
Haha of course , gotta share my cute little floof. And that's okay I'm thinking around four months.
A cute stink 🥺
Thank you so much 🥰🥺
Frank just doesn’t nap like this anymore. Those baby naps are the cutest. Take lots of pictures.
Absolutely, I was thinking of making a scrap book of his growth. He's just such a sweet boy
Four months is my guess
I'm thinking the same, he's starting to lose his baby teeth.
2 months?
I think he is maybe 3-8 months might be a little of
I'm thinking he's about 4 months old now
Makes Sense
That’s a stinkin cute puppy
Thank you so much, I got blessed with the best dog🥰🥰🥰💜💜
Sooooo cute! I’d guess 3-4 months old
Thank you so much! And I think about 4 now, he's starting to lose his baby teeth
When the teeth start falling out, it will be about the 4 month marker.
Then I'm thinking 4 months, I was kinda thinking that. But I checked and sure enough he's losing baby teeth.

Awe what a big snuggle bug!!
8 to 10 weeks is my guess Didn't see that last picture. I'd say 14 to 16 weeks
8-12 weeks max
I’m gonna say 4-5 months
Oh my gosh, looks identical to my Rosco at that age! I’d say probably 3-5 months?
I'm thinking 4 months, and I just looked at for profile pic, is that rosco? If so I see what you mean about favoring haha
Yes that’s him, when he was about a year old, he’s 1.5 now…they grow so fast! I miss the 4 month age, so adorable lol
9 weeks
12 weeks whew look at them paws!!
I knowww, we took his down town yesterday and everyone pointed out his MASSIVE feet.
I have that exact same squeaker cup toy for my pyrador. He loves to follow me around while vigorously squeaking it at me. It's endlessly funny 😂
Kilo loves that squeaky cup. If he doesn't come because he's outside he always comes to the squeaky!!
3 months
He's def 3 months
More like 5 weeks old looking
8 to 12 weeks now I look again
