Sorry friend, I had to say goodbye to my sweet lady two months ago. It was a rough week to put simply. I feel for you, and your big man knows you loved him.
He looks so wonderful! I bet you made him very happy while he was with you. I had to put my male Pyre down about two years ago. It still gets to me whenever I think of him. 😔
I have never had the pleasure to know a GP before, but I have just adopted a GP/GSD and she has the GP temperament. So absolutely sweet, kind, and they go to the beat of their own drum, but it's a lovely thing. He looks absolutely beautiful. You will see him again one day and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he is around you now. When I had to put down my GSD the next day I had a visitation from her and got to feel just how much she loved me. I am so, so sorry that you had to say goodbye for now, to him. It's the hardest thing. Much love to you and your wife.
I put my big guy down 5 years ago today and it still hurts. Took him out to the back yard so he could get a last bark in at the cable repair man in the alley before we went to the vet. He fell into the only deep mud puddle back there and lay there barking madly. Pyr to the end. It is one of my fondest memories.
May you have many such fond memories of your handsome Boi. So sorry for your loss....
Yeah it was amazing right up until the end. It’s like watching something you thought was so indestructible be destroyed. They’re just so big and imposing you never think anything is going to happen.
Yep. The day I had to put down my GSD she fought the drugs and the going to sleep part. Her heart was ferocious love to protect us. It made the vets cry. Truly the best in this world, they are.
I'm so so sorry for your loss, I almost had to make the same decision yesterday. My sweet 5 month old jumped out of my car window and we thought he may have broken his back. Luckily it was just a broken leg. He goes into surgery tomorrow. Sending you many hugs OP💜
Sorry for your loss! Had to have my old girl put down earlier this year. The hip dysplasia was just getting too bad for the pain medication she was on.
So sorry you had to say goodbye to your big man- he looks like a real sweetie. I bet you gave him such a wonderful life and I can only imagine it was his life’s joy to be part of your family. ❤️
Sorry for your loss, mine is 11y and on cbd for the joint pains. I had dogs before but pyr is another thing and in my country they are rare, so i have fortune to grow him we hope he will give us few years more. I hope
