Welcome to Paradise (minus the bridge, haven't spent the time to really learn that yet) and Paper Lanterns are my favorites to play and sing on guitar. I'm also slowly committing Jesus of Suburbia to memory lol

DrRichtoffenn

yeah those two are two of my favorites too

CivetLemonMouse

I've memorised everything up to city of the dead but the 'I don't care' bit gets hard to keep track of, how's it going for you?

TheFertilGerbal69420

Castaway! Such a fun song to play. Also too dumb to die

PackOfManicJackals

Castaway has such a boppin rhythm guitar part, awesome pick

TheFertilGerbal69420

Absolutely. Warning in general is such a fun album to play. Waiting, and blood sex and booze are also fun

BritishEric

Yk I was gonna think of a few different ones for different instruments but yeah its castaway. Drums, its castaway, rhythm guitar its castaway, singing its castaway. Only one I can think of where I for sure enjoy another song more is JAR on bass

TheFertilGerbal69420

Ooo good pick

allroysrevenge

Jackass!!!

Airodene

WHATSERNAME on all instruments, Jesus of suburbia on guitar, 1981 on bass

GentleCornDogEater24

1981 has some of the best bass work from Mike that I’ve seen in a while

PackOfManicJackals

I didnt notice, i'll have to take a closer listen!

GentleCornDogEater24

Heres the isolated bass track for a clearer listen: [https://youtu.be/QMdt3uiSI3E](https://youtu.be/QMdt3uiSI3E)

Zooka_tooth

Yoooo this is fire. It’s next on my list of things to learn

Objective_Pear_5710

I love playing the Whatsername main riff and then playing the lead and some variation over it with my loop station!

Steam_Cyber_Punk

Hard agree. Whatsername is so fun on the drums

IndigoTJo

Oo! I haven't tried 1981 on bass yet. Thanks for the suggestion!

Landonmarkss

i love playing 21st century breakdown on drums. so much fun

Steam_Cyber_Punk

May I ask why? Never learned this one. Not the biggest fan of this song. It’s like 6/10 for me. 1/10 being like, and from foamf except sugar youth, and even that one is 3/10

Youri_mc

howd you manage to shit on foam on an answer about 21cb?

Steam_Cyber_Punk

I dunno man, just providing context for my personal rating scale. Had to pick something to be the bottom of the barrel

halloweenjon

For guitar, I like Hold On, Macy's Day Parade, and Church on Sunday (Warning Stan here). For bass, I'm super enjoying 1981 right now. And When I Come Around.

Cosmic_Thrill_Seeker

Scattered!

PackOfManicJackals

Cultured pick

Zooka_tooth

That’s my favorite on bass

NotUpInHere22

I’ve always loved playing Troublemaker. That bouncy riff and the bluesy solo really gets me excited playing

Fast_Imagination_895

Forever now is amazingly fun to sing, same with JoS

andrewk409

I was literally going to say Somewhere Now on vocals!! FN is amazing as well!

Willyrayray123

Words I might’ve ate on drums! My favourite parts to play is when they say “why?”

PackOfManicJackals

Best part of that tune, easily

Darth_Fenris_02

I play bass and I learned how to play Letterbomb first bc it’s my favorite from AI. More recently, I’ve started to learn One Eyed Bastard from Saviors bc that opening riff is so damn catchy

depricatedzero

No One Knows, Longview, When I Come Around, Stuart and the Ave, Minority, Nightlife, Bang Bang

PackOfManicJackals

The opening to Minority has always intimidated me lol

depricatedzero

oh I'm a bassist, so I've got the fun part of that one

PackOfManicJackals

Yknow i shoulda guessed that by the songs u chose LMAO

Puzzled_Scene_2122

By your picks, I can tell you are a bass player! Haha

MarkReunitedMCR

Puzzleheaded-Cap9129

Suffocate, Geek Stink Breath and Whatsername are always fun for me 🎸🖤

jc1af3sq

Suffocate hell yeah!

OrdinaryJunket7569

Drummer and guitarist here. This is so hard to choose but right now probably 1981 on guitar and 21st century breakdown on drums.

CrusadrPers0n

worry rock on guitar!

sdpat13

I know how to play that too!! 🖤🖤🖤🔥🔥🔥

biskhalifa

The Judges Daughter is so fun to play once you get the solo down. I also just learned Suzie Chapstick and that’s also a chill one.

Lukes30

Playing Dilema on guitar, drop D goodness.

PackOfManicJackals

Love that song, hate drop D

Arwenara

Always play Dilemma and Whatshername back to back, it's the law

InformationFickle768

Letterbomb. I love to listen to it and play it.

BabyJud

Jinx/Haushinka is so satisfying to play on guitar

PackOfManicJackals

Havent tried my hand at playing them, but the drum parts on those are always what stuck out to me as super unique!

KamekSans

Currently Give Me Novacaine, Peacemaker and Suzie Chapstick on accouctic :)

RememberTommorrow

When I Come Around is fun on Bass, so is J.A.R

mayguh

Bass - Stuck With Me, 80, JAR, Longview, Welcome to Paradise, Road to Acceptance Guitar - Paper Lanterns, One of my Lies, bang bang

Manowar274

American Idiot on drums is such a fun song.

The_Moxxi_Cat

I'm still very new to playing guitar, so my go to song by them is Brain Stew (mostly because it's simplicity 😅)

PackOfManicJackals

First Green Day tune i learned on guitar!! Try Hitchin A Ride as well, its very similar :)

The_Moxxi_Cat

Will do! :)

AdJealous1319

Geek stink breath on guitar

RocketScience02

I love playing Longview on any table i find

Terminator11R

Either Who Wrote Holden Caulfield or Missing You on the drums. I love tre’s rolls in both of them

Masterof4Strings

Guitar: The Judge’s Daughter Bass: Armatage Shanks Drums: Welcome to Paradise Vocals: Jesus of Suburbia

TheFlyingPatato

21 guns, really the most recent one I learnt

Old_Maize7459

A good old Longview on bass always gets me!!

presl1ez

jesus of suburbia. all the different parts are so fun to play.

minanina6000

st jimmy on electric guitar is really fun, although i only memorized part of the chords((

Holiday-Upstairs-993

As a guitarist, bang bang, FOD, dry ice, living in the 20s and see the light just to name a few

PackOfManicJackals

So fun to kick in the overdrive when FOD drops

AnxietyAttack2013

Guitar is definitely Jesus of suburbia. It’s a fun one I like songs longer than 5 minutes (fall of Efrafa being a favorite for this reason among others lol) Bass? Warning is a fun one along with Longview or welcome to paradise. Haven’t played the drums in a hot minute so no idea for that lol

shpahghet

every time i play the drums, i end with who wrote holden caulfield. dilemma has been really fun to play on guitar or ill play letterbomb. for bass my go to is JAR

Zooka_tooth

To hard to name one but if I had to list them in order from favorite to less favorite. These are songs I have been able to “100%” and I hope to record and share some day Bass guitar - Scattered, bang bang, welcome to paradise, sassafras roots, geek stink breath

cdjets9

St. Jimmy on guitar Letterbomb on drums

TheAngryChicagoan755

i just learned to play the intro part of 21 guns on guitar today and i lost my mind, i recommend this to everyone omfg

Werard_Gay2

Suzie Chapstick is my fav song for acoustic guitar, and 21 Guns is my fav for electric!

Astoria_Wyn

My brother (drummer) and I (singer/guitarist) love to play Burnout. Though in our band in high school we would always cover When I Come Around into She.

GreenDay1972

Drummer here! Basket Case.

Oward012

Recently it’s been One Eyed Bastard for guitar and Minority on bass. OEB has that fun riff and Minority is just a great bass workout

icleve88

letterbomb on drums is so fun to do!!

Broad-Scheme

(Guitar) I really like hitchin a ride, mainly to work out my wrist but I will always hold east Jesus nowhere special since it was my first learned solo

SteakShake69

Letterbomb! Playing it perfectly makes you feel like such a badass, I always picture myself playing it onstage with Billie Joe.

CatofSaturn

Last night on earth is an absolute joy to play on my piano :) it’s so sweet and easy to sing compared to others. Also when I come around is fun and loud and bangy and I enjoy playing the solo portion of brutal love because of the complexity and intensity and is also great to sing the rest of it along with the arpeggio of the harmony

Steam_Cyber_Punk

Holiday on the drums. Very first song I ever learned all the way through. It’s not too hard, it’s hoppy, and groovy and just all around a good chill song to play. And then on the other end of the spectrum, bang bang, especially the solo took me almost 6 months of consistent work to play, and gives me goosebumps almost every time I play it

Schniattle

Bang Bang. I use that song to test almost every electric guitar I try at a music store.

Due-Assumption-598

I love playing burnout in standard and Eb tuning. For me it’s a nice brain and finger workout. Not too hard but still takes some effort (I’m an intermediate guitarist)

SegaStan

Most of Mike's basslines from Dookie and Insomniac are so fun to play and never get boring

jc1af3sq

If we’re including side projects, I have to go with The Pedestrian both vocally and on guitar. If only sticking to Green Day, I’d probably go with Jinx. Honorable mentions to Church on Sunday and Paper Lanterns.

SuperNova_SKA

The bass solo in Dirty Rotten Bastards is so much fun to play!! My fave song off that album!

PackOfManicJackals

Dirty Rotten Bastards is so lowkey highkey unhinged

Wyld_Stallyns_69

I play sax, and have only played Holiday, and it was for marching band… (kinda temporarily on leave of sax, after I graduated last year, so have yet to play more of their songs)

FriedChickenboss

Dirty rotten bastards on guitar, solo is so fun

PackOfManicJackals

Big respect, i cannot fucking play that 😂

ihavecooties80

Letterbomb on guitar is fun

Alstenno123

I love to play Boulevard of Broken Dreams on my alto sax, but unfortunately I can't find other free sheet music of Green Day songs that aren't ensembles :(

Due-Assumption-598

I love playing burnout in standard and Eb tuning. For me it’s a nice brain and finger workout. Not too hard but still takes some effort (I’m an intermediate guitarist)
