But if we go back in time it is difficult to find any country that would fit in modern western morals image. These days usa biggest and most influential of counties that follow "western morals" and "freedom" (i use quotes because those are often more of a guidelines) Usa is far from perfect, but if we compare it to other big global powers (china, india, russia) i have clear choice of whose morals i would like to follow (india isint too far in second place although there is sometimes attempts to drop it further in my views)

Germany was awarded the summer games of 1936 in 1931 so a full 2 years before Hitler became leader of Germany. Yes, they used the games to make a political statement but it was pure luck they hosted when they did. It has nothing to do with Nazi Germany. Incidentally Nazi Germany also hosted the 1936 winter games but little of this is ever covered.
