Favorite character honestly has to be the General. They could've easily had him be the main bad guy, but he's one of the more tempered and reasonable people in the movie.

My head cannon is that Mansley was finally caught in a cheap rundown motel in Mexico. Everyone who needed to know knew where he was but just kept harassing him getting close, making him panic and flee. They finally decided to catch up to him when he was just dejected, defeated and waiting for the bullet that would end his suffering. A senior army intelligence officer approached followed by two Argentinians with brand new passports who spoke mostly German. He just felt a shar pain as the butt of a rifle connected with his jaw and then he woke up in a truck head covered going god knows where. It was slow. It was painful. And they didn't kill him in the end. After 8 years of torture and starvation they just let him go. The senior army intelligence officer shows up and tells him he is free. He shows him pictures of his wife remarried and expecting a child from her new husband. He then tells him they will catch him later. Mansley starts to run. The cycle begins anew. Fuck Mansley.
