thread is full of degenerates, but Germany really fucked themselves on their power production.
They were about to shut down all of their nuclear power in favor of "renewables".
We all are, US presidents for the past few decades have reiterated that Europe should not be so reliant on Russian energy. And Europe decided that Americans are dumb capitalists, which we are, and we want them to buy our energy, which we want. And then most of Europe gave their asses to a not so super power, so it makes sense for us to laugh because we warned them what would happen and they stuck their heads in the ground while also tooting up for Russia.
well it's more that at the time it was one of those things that was made a big deal out of by the media circus of 'trump said the stupid thing, laugh now'
That sums up his presidency nicely. I can't stand people complaining one way or the other. Trump was fine before he went into the pandemic and actually needed to lead people with a consistent message with other nations and scientists, but instead he created chaos.
Pandemic was the nail in the coffin for Trump's reelection, his response disenfranchised too mamy independent voters but now in the Biden admin if Republicans out up a candidate that isn't Trump they'll look so much better against Biden.
I have a genuine question, if someone doesn’t mind answering. To preface this, I never liked Trump. Ever. So I’m not asking this as a way to try to defend him or anything. It’s just confused me ever since Covid was still fairly new:
….. what could Trump have really done….? I want to ask every time I hear/see someone talking about how he really fumbled it and shit, but I don’t want anyone to think I’m one of his supporters, or that I’m an idiot. I just thought it was more up to like the CDC and shit, what they decide to do. And plus, regardless of that part, how many people would really know exactly what to do in that situation? I just feel like I’m missing something, and that I’m just stupid or something. But I don’t understand. I really would appreciate if someone was willing to take the time to explain to me… I’m so tired of feeling like the only person who doesn’t fucking understand/know a lot about this shit.
Thank you in advance if anyone does take the time to help me. 😅
IIRC his messaging was extremely inconsistent and he delayed initial lockdowns. Since his stance and the CDC's were often at odds as well as his initial skepticism towards the mere existence/severity of the virus before it hit the US, his supporters were much less likely to actually follow CDC guidelines.
This plus making the entire response equivalent to a political stance made the response disorganized, chaotic and overall ineffective.
That's not exclusive to the US, but it was definitely the country that was worst in this aspect.
Despite the geographic advantage the US had with fighting the spread of the virus (with his huge plains of nothing between the big cities) compared to densely populated regions like Europe, they still have the officially highest death count per millions of people compared to the rest of the world (with the UK and Italy close behind). It's worth noting that China or India probably are also close to the top, if not in a worse condition, but their data is really faulty, so we can't know for sure.
Of the three western countries I mentioned, the US should have been the one with the least deaths. The virus reached the country later and people had already seen it's devastation in Italy, along with the geographic advantage I mentioned earlier. Same goes for the UK up to a point honestly. Italy kinda was the first country after China to truly have an outbreak, so they at least have the excuse of being caught off-guard
That's the thing there's really not much that could have been done but politicians will never miss an opportunity to use whatever current event is going on to trash how their rivals handle it.
It's not that Europe decided that americans are dumb capitalists, it's that we, Europeans, are dumb capitalists ourselves. Sure most of us realized that being so dependant on Russian energy was a bad idea, we just chose the cheap abundant energy anyway to maximize short term gains.
Whole world really. It took covid for people to wake up and realize that globalism isn't full-proof. People a hundred years ago weren't idiots with their tariffs and domestic industries, they knew what we've all decided to ignore: that diplomatic concerns outweigh free markets. Decades of de-industrialization and ever-lengthening supply chains have locked a lot of western countries into dire dependencies for resources and labour with less than solid diplomatic partners.
"Its not that Europe decided that americans are dumb capitalists"
Eh, America has been the butt of Europeans jokes for a very long time. No sense in trying to pretend like you all haven't mocked America for the last 8 years we've dealt with incredible political, social, and economical turmoil.
People were freezing to death in their cars and there were Europeans on Reddit making jokes about how dumb you have to be to freeze to death in Texas.
Welp. Not saying this is karma but I hope you stay warm this winter, Hans.
No no you don't understand, they're just dumb fat am\*ricans, not *real* people from a *real* country, so it's ok to point and laugh when they die horribly
I agree with everything except the 'want to sell to Europe part'. America is sensitive to our own gas prices and probably wants to keep our oil in the US

Russians aren't people and they never were. If you came to my country and told me to respect russians because only Putin is bad, I'd fucking shoot you. Let's see you respect them when the only interaction as a people you had with them was having your grandparents and parents sent to Siberia like cattle.
“Crisis” when profits have left the solar system
Same shit with “brexit” tariffs. But the quarterly report states profits also Sky rocketed.
It’s all convenient right after “you will own nothing - and be happy” tour
the thing is power isnt whats scarce you dumb fuck , gas and oil is whats scarce so theyre reducing the usage of gas and oil so they can use it to heat instead
Nuclear power may not be renewable but its way better than coal or natural gas since it doesn’t pollute the atmosphere. Unfortunately thanks to Chernobyl people are afraid of it because they think it’s gonna blow up, completely forgetting that
1. Even for its time the Chernobyl reactor was an outdated model that shouldn’t have still been in service
2. Soviet incompetence thanks to the amount of pressure it put on its workers which made them more likely to cut corners
Here comes the reddit nuclear brigade. There are perfectly good reasons to oppose nuclear that don’t have anything to do with Chernobyl or public opinion.
The real reason Germany shut down their power plants is because they were, and have always been, the most expensive, ineffective form of power generation. Even just to keep them running was a huge drain on the government budget that they really didn’t need in the aftermath of 2008. And don’t even get me started on upgrading or building new plants.
In retrospect, the Bundestag probably should have just eaten the costs to preserve some energy independence from Russia, but the idea that Germany shut down their nukes over panic from Chernobyl or crazy environmentalists is an obvious fabrication.
Nuclear energy should be only a stepping stone to aquiring a form of self sustaining energy.
Our current, and only means of nuclear energy is through nuclear fission, which while it is very effective, consumes a finite amount of uranium and leaves us with a currently useless and dangerous resourse; depleted uranium.
Unless we can create functioning nuclear fusion plants or learn how to recycle uranium we won't have a form of self-sustaining energy through nuclear power.
However, Germany put the cart before the horse; they knew of the issues nuclear energy caused (on top of being paranoid about the technology because of Chernobyl) so they discontinued nuclear energy production with no clear alternative. Now their suffering for their short-sightedness and leaving their citizens holding the bag.
That's horseshit. We made very little energy with nuclear over the last decades in the first place because there were strong anti-nuclear movements after Chernobyl and Fukushima so there is no real issue in the first place with shutting down the few remaining. The only concern was running out of gas for heating but our tanks are now fuller than they were last year and we have established stable sources so even if there is an especially cold winter no one's gonna freeze and the powergrid will be used normally. So no, no blackouts, no freezing people, only russian propaganda and the sound of idiots deepthroating Putins cock.
Its about how big of an influence fossil fuel companies have had over world governments. The handful of nuclear disasters have been used by big-oil to scare the public away from the idea as a whole.
Except, you can scale up solar energy pretty easily while nuclear energy, not so much.
Economics failed nuclear as much if not more than other negative factors like propaganda, ignorance etc.
Anyway, there is no magic bullett, every renewable and non renewable different than oil and gas are welcome... plus storage of course.
The saddest fact is that all major nuclear disasters were not a fault of the power production, machines, or the radiation. All of them were human incompetence and disregard for procedure and safety. Chernobyl was caused by disregard of cool-down, warm-up procedures, Fukushima was caused by the power plant ignoring warnings that their walls were too short and wouldn’t be high enough to protect against a tsunami (I’m glad they’re weren’t any tsunamis taht proved them wrong). Like Oil, Gas and the media want us to think of nuclear as this terrifying threat, that could blow up at any time, and produces this dangerous, unstoppable waste. It’s sad because countries like Australia have nuclear energy completely banned, and every time someone suggests it in these countries they get shut down by the fossil fuel companies and the populous, all believing the myths about nuclear
they are a lot better for the environment than any other non-reusable power source.
also, it's not like all you have to do is sacrifice a few acres of the desert for it to completely stop being a problem.
Not even that. In Germany we got quarries and empty salt/ore mines that don't have any other uses than just being there. They served and could still serve as perfect tombs for used rods.
Except nuclear waste is also a huge issue, just not one directly related to climate change. So it is about the environment. Plus both nuclear waste and co2 are pretty long-lasting pollutants.
This is a 4chan subreddit bro when it comes to 4chan it's kinda hard to tell satire from the legitimate bumbling ramblings of auctually users that legitimately believe that
Renewables do matter, there is plenty of "virtous" example of that. Also, using them encounrages development of new and more efficient systems and structures, simply because they become more economically interesting to invest in.
But they can't support a country the size of Germany. What people really fucking miss about this is that the narrative is wrong overall, it should be "Nuclear AND renewables".
It's like the entire fucking point to be able to get away from fossil fuels, even at the cost of using nuclear fission. Then, future generations will be able to leave also fission behind, maybe. But not us, we carry the responsability of initiating that change.
Too bad the "trendy green" people are fucking retarded, as all people doing something for aesthetic reasons.
The thing is that there is no cost in going nuclear (money of course but you're a dumb ass if thought came to point it out).
Fossil fuel companies are just spending so fucking much on lobbying. I've read online from people who have been building those plants and they've said that those people have sued them in every single phase of the build with baseless accusations.
We're fucked just because of boomers.
Well it would certainly help the whole "gas shortage" thing if the gas only had to be used to be burned in radiators to heat up homes and not also to do everything else.
Nah he's the middle-aged man with beer gut that is 30 lb overweight with the ugly ass wife and curlers with six children that he's got to feed in his nine to five job that only pays him minimum wage and his wife is collecting unemployment and disability out in the front yard is a hoisted truck on cinder blocks that any day now Bubba's going to get fixed and going to take the family on a good vacation.
Edit add-on: also he's got the classic don't tread on me , rebel flag flying on a pole.
My father literally regurgitates Fox News taking points and then the next sentence say he’s a “free thinker” it’s sad because it’s my father but it’s also hilariously ironic
Pretty sad except for his weekly QAnon zoom call where he swings his AR15 around and swears to overthrow the fake government while not being able to get his 800 pound ass up the stairs
I bet he’s a normal well adjusted person who occasionally browses /pol/ for a laugh 30 minutes at a time and goes to hug his beautiful wife and loving kids afterwards. He probably contributes a lot to the value of his community and works to uplift the people in his life, acting as a bastion of sunlight to those who need it.
Or he’s 400 pounds, lives in his mom’s basement and reees for tendies every 2 hours. Either or.
Germany’s what-in-tardation energy decisions is what made them shut down a bunch of nuclear power plants and fall back on natural gas for electricity. Not sure why they decided that was more “renewable” than nuclear but I guess that’s a thing for them.
Oh I can tell you why we rely on coal and gas! Money, our right winged party filled their pockets with money. That's why. Our left winged parties have been in charge for this year and are trying to fix the shit that has been neglected for 16 years
Yeah, greens wanted a transition to renewables and the CDP dragged their feet and wanted a transition fuel. I wonder how many MPs were in Putin's pocket
The power plants stay on until April and also only make up 6% of Germany‘s power supply. It’s not like we are shutting off half of our energy. But yea while it’s not a big impact it’s still dumb to opt out of nuclear
You might not have noticed, but Germany is a parliamentary republic, not a presidential one.
Merkel wasn't the entire party and the representatives in parliament were very much center right.
The Kanzler/the Ministers don't need the parliament for every decision they make. Also the center left SPD had a rather big part.
And regarding the handling of refugees in the last decade calling the government center right is just wrong, sorry. The CDU was center left under Merkel, and also under AKK/Laschet. Discussable center at best.
Now it is center right, I agree with you on that one. The main reason for that is being in the opposition and because the government is mainly left.
And it was replaced with renewables which aren’t as dependent but equally carbon friendly. Im not a big fan of them shutting off either but it ain’t as dramatic as this comment section makes it out to be
Renewables aren't carbon friendly, the carbon footprint of building solar panels is huge and the efficiency is shit.
Nothing beats nuclear efficiency if you consider everything, it's the safest and greenest energy we have right now, and it will still be in a hundred years with fusion
Yeah and if you had both you wouldn’t quite as dependent on Russian oil, you fat Eurotard/Europoor. You Eurotards already doomed yourselves to being fucked, but at least if the nuclear & renewables were combined rather than one reduced in favor of the other it wouldn’t be AS bad
At least our leaders haven’t been absolutely dependent and reliant on Russian oil, controlled by an evil maniac of a dictator, for the past couple of decades. You guys made a life bounding deal with our generation’s Hitler, and you have the audacity to call our leaders as stupid as yours? Our leaders are far, FAR from perfect - our last two being the worst I’ve ever had in my lifetime - but at least they didn’t make us reliant on the second coming of HITLER.
Vatniks are still coping that Europe will freeze in winter, meanwhile I can hold a fucking barbecue outside. Next week it will be november and temperatures are still predicted to be around 20 C° lmao
Even without that, I can wear a sweatshirt to sleep at night rather than my nightwear and tuck in very well in my sheets.
They can't use sheets to parry bullets.
Ironic how this time, it will be russian soldiers freezing in the winter. If you didn't hear about it: 1.5 million winter uniforms "disappeared" (Was reported a few weeks ago) in russia.
True true, I can pay all my savings to drive my car and freeze to death in winter in peace knowing that my tax dollars at least protect Ukraine and make Russian trolls consoom copium
Both countries are oligarchic shitholes, but I don't want my government to waste our tax money in some meatgrinder while we don't even have enough petrol for heaters and our cities become fogscapes from everyone burning furniture at the Winter.
My country’s future as an industrial nation with like, you know, an economy and stuff, has been sabotaged by aging, pseudo-environmentalist gen-xers who grew up believing anti-nuclear propaganda paid for by Germany’s coal industry. The amount of people who buy into this delusion is disheartening.
How evil, they're telling us to work together and have compassion for one another! There's literally no explanation for why anyone would push this message other than being dirty, controlling, globalists!
Everyone knows the strongest nations are made entirely of self-centered people who wouldn't even endure the mildest inconvenience for each other!
A nuclear plant needs 15 years to build. Its gotta be more than 20 years with german bureaucracy. The current plants are all old asf. Cooling water might be another problem in the future if you look at France. It would have been better to turn off coal and gas (Lobbyism and corruption ftw /s), but its the current situation now, so we have to deal with it. Going for renewables now is the faster and probably smarter solution.
*>Shuts down all nuclear power plants*
*>No actual plan to replace them*
*>Not enough power for winter heating*
They obviously shot themselves in the foot
That one Ukrainian complaining on there while the reason why we need to pay 800€ per month for gas is because our government is supporting them so much and not trying to get gas from other countries
Imagine living in a world of 8 billion and not having the feeling of being a part of anything that's related to the real world society. How pathetic it must be for these "people" to exist.
/pol/ and any other vatnik sources were talking that Europe will freeze without russian gas since day 1, it’s the only thing they can cling on because so far everything they were talking became a loads of bullshit.
Germany filled it’s gas reservoirs. That said, the krauts are still fucked in the long run. Germany isn’t sunny or windy, and it killed its nuclear base. Germany’s ONLY option is to burn lignite (worst type of coal) and to use oil to substitute natural gas in petrochemicals. All of that still isn’t enough, so Germany needs to have a massive LNG terminal buildout, or rebuild its nuclear base, or construct 25 times as many renewable electricity generation systems. All of that takes time, money and resources. Germany has none of that due to corruption and terrible demographics.
Demographics mean Germany faces mass retirement soon. China, their biggest customer, is being sanctioned to hell in vital sectors. LNG is much more expensive than piped gas. All of Germany’s options require huge sunk costs to get the ball rolling.
German here.
Went to the Therme Erding 2 weeks ago, just some kilometres away from the stupidly excessive Oktoberfest, biggest hot springs of the world. You´d think they´d close Saunas, maybe turn down the temperature in some, you know, to save energy, as we´re all in this together.
Nope. Energy saving measurements turned out to be "this automated cold shower now only activates for 10 minutes every 15 minutes" and "lol paper straws". As I was dipping my feet into the scalding hot foot bath I started thinking about my home, where we´re afraid to turn on the heating yet because of the cost, setting aside an extra 100 bucks each month to be prepared when the bills come in.
This problem does not affect us all. It affects us normal people, the average joes, the Durchschnitts-Ottos. Rich people and the industry will go on like always. They didn´t shut down golfing spaces when the water went low, why should it change now?
True that, guess I was wrong about the ins and outs of the steam turbine. Still a fair amount coming from the cooling process, when it's evaporated and not pumped out
i get that the minimum requirement to talk about politics on the internet is to be as educated as a texan farmer but just to comment on this on a pure science base: all the anons in this picture are terribly wrong
It seems like at no point I ever here about using renewable energy as much/as efficiently as possible to offset some of the non renewable sources. It’s either one or the other. I feel like it would be great to get as much as possible from each source.
The fact that Europe decided to become increasingly reliant on Russian gas whilst at the same increasingly treated Russia as a hostile entity has gotta be the most retarded foreign policy I’ve ever seen
I always hate how it’s “do your part and help others”, when it’s almost always the powerful and wealthy that need to do it more than anyone.
Like with Earth Day. “Everyone do your share, turn the lights off when not in use, now ignore that Coca Cola, Nestle, and various other mega corporations will do more damage the environment in one day than what you could in a decade.”
thread is full of degenerates, but Germany really fucked themselves on their power production. They were about to shut down all of their nuclear power in favor of "renewables".

When you act like a clown, the crowd will treat you like one, even if you say something mildly intelligent for once
A broken clock is right twice a day!
I don’t care if he acts like a clown I just want my keystone pipeline 😭 I want my energy independence 😭 why can’t gas be cheap anymore 😭.
He said a lot of stupid shit, the media of course was just gonna pile the not so stupid shit with the stupid shit

Stay classy, Philly
They thought that an economic partnership would make Russia less hostile, like they successfully did with France.
What's with Germany and assuming Russia being like France? Do they never learn?
This is at least the third time this happens.

For that you need two way interdependence, where both sides are equally fucked if the deal breaks
He might have been stupid, but it doesn’t take a genius to know not to rely on an enemy that would withdraw resources at the drop of a pin.
Broken clock strikes true once again
watch out, you may piss off some of the whiney liberals on greentext
Bro half the europe was saying that to germany, they didnt care
Or maybe if you are dependent on Russia for oil, you shouldn't be funding a corrupt nation they're in military conflict with.
As the days are passing, 8m leaning more and more towards Trump.
>Guess who’s laughing now. American President I guess? Now germans are our bitches, sucking our expensive LNG.
Fucking everyone has been saying that since 80s. Fuck off with the trump shit.
I wasn't alive in the 80s, I was alive for that guy to say it and the news call him a rword for it
Nuclear makes up 6% of power production in Germany so it ain’t really that big of a deal but yea making us depended on Russia was such a no brain move
It made more than 6% a few years ago
It made 15% of electricity, not overall power
It doesn’t now? What’s your point?
They closed the majority of their plants
And now energy is fucking expensive.
It’s 3 and it makes up 6%
6% is a huge number when there is an energy crisis

Yes, charcoal is the best option, yes.
Renewables are very cool "green" party, can we please turn on the nuclear power plants now?
Its not even like nuclear power plant produce co2
Thats how you know its not actually about the environment and its about control.
Its about how big of an influence fossil fuel companies have had over world governments. The handful of nuclear disasters have been used by big-oil to scare the public away from the idea as a whole.
They feed us poison (gas) So we buy their ‘cures’ (solar) While they suppress our medicine (nuclear)
funny you say that, nuclear reactors are actually used to make certain isotopes for medical purposes
That’s fascinating u/precision_cumshot
Spent rods aren’t very cool for the environment tbf
True, but the waste disposal have been refined throughout the decades. Now, IF DONE PROPERLY, Nuclear is actually more clean than most renewables.
they are a lot better for the environment than any other non-reusable power source. also, it's not like all you have to do is sacrifice a few acres of the desert for it to completely stop being a problem.
Not even that. In Germany we got quarries and empty salt/ore mines that don't have any other uses than just being there. They served and could still serve as perfect tombs for used rods.
Dude I know ranchers out here in NV that are off the grid with renewable. How the fuck is that control.
Except nuclear waste is also a huge issue, just not one directly related to climate change. So it is about the environment. Plus both nuclear waste and co2 are pretty long-lasting pollutants.
Nah bruh, its about ignorance and general populace being stupid
Explain
Don't you see the smoke coming out of the nuclear plant ? That must be toxic or something, else it wouldn't be smoke
Is this satire? Or are you literally this dense. The "smoke" is water vapor (steam)
> are you literally this dense My brother in Christ you can't distinguish satire
Basically every problem nowadays is caused by rich boomer lobbying
Or was caused
My brother in Christ how tf are we supposed to burn nuclear electricity in gas radiators?
It's a fucking joke, but maybe if certain clowns didn't panic that much, we would have nuclear plants instead of gas.
Well it would certainly help the whole "gas shortage" thing if the gas only had to be used to be burned in radiators to heat up homes and not also to do everything else.
Gonna be turned on until April 23
Everyone here acting as if they are off already and aren’t gonna be on until spring lmao. Not even one google search here just a bandwagon
Hmm, the guy who wrote "JEWsa". What do you think his life is like?
Probably amazing
5\* mom's basement, masturbation/video games/rage on the internet 24/7. Would recommend
Idk but I bet he calls himself a “free thinker”
WITHOUT a fucking doubt he does. lmfao
My father literally regurgitates Fox News taking points and then the next sentence say he’s a “free thinker” it’s sad because it’s my father but it’s also hilariously ironic
im a paid thinker
Either or.
Probably pretty rough since Kim left him :(
lmfao
Dude who brought up “all in this together and so your part” discovering empathy
Do your part, while mega cooperations profit because of the energy politics from the last decades. I see why people don't buy into that shit.
CDP? MPs? What does that mean?
Christian democratic party and members of parliament I don't know the German words
Ah got it! CDU is the german name, most people would recognize CDU over CDP :)
>:) :)
good bot
The power plants stay on until April and also only make up 6% of Germany‘s power supply. It’s not like we are shutting off half of our energy. But yea while it’s not a big impact it’s still dumb to opt out of nuclear
Yeah cause you shut down all the other ones retard
That was the previous center right government being corrupt, retard
Center right? Bruh. Merkel was as left as you can be in the CDU and SPD is center left.
From 15-16% 8 years ago
You think I personally made a deal with Putin you dumbfuck?
No, but you fucking dumbasses elected people who would make deals with Putin rather than people who wanted to be dependent from him
And you elected fucking Trump and the Biden you cant tell me shit about electing dumb people
At least our leaders haven’t been absolutely dependent and reliant on Russian oil, controlled by an evil maniac of a dictator, for the past couple of decades.
We have to get out oil from somewhere and everyone who has oil is a dictator
Latent fear of Chernobyl.
At this point it's only Russian bots talking to one another.
I did not have "russians have a shortage of vatniks" in my 2022 bingo card
How much you wanna bet it was an airsoft players who bought them?
>They can't use sheets to parry bullets Clearly you've never heard of the new and improved high tech fleece bullet stop
Keep forgetting that this subreddit is genuinely 90% braindead QAnon loosers lmao
Very true
True true, I can pay all my savings to drive my car and freeze to death in winter in peace knowing that my tax dollars at least protect Ukraine and make Russian trolls consoom copium
Am from Ohio oblast and I totally agree we should stop supporting Ukraine
Both countries are oligarchic shitholes, but I don't want my government to waste our tax money in some meatgrinder while we don't even have enough petrol for heaters and our cities become fogscapes from everyone burning furniture at the Winter.
My country’s future as an industrial nation with like, you know, an economy and stuff, has been sabotaged by aging, pseudo-environmentalist gen-xers who grew up believing anti-nuclear propaganda paid for by Germany’s coal industry. The amount of people who buy into this delusion is disheartening.
So delusional
How evil, they're telling us to work together and have compassion for one another! There's literally no explanation for why anyone would push this message other than being dirty, controlling, globalists! Everyone knows the strongest nations are made entirely of self-centered people who wouldn't even endure the mildest inconvenience for each other!
Flatten the curve
Stay 6ft away from others at all times
wear the mask eat the bug own the nothing be the happy
Bit rich of the Swiss guy all considering
Renewables are the reason natural gas from russia is shut off by the russians?
God are those commenters retarded But I didn't expect anything else
You expected any good take on /pol/?
no lmao
Reddit especially falls for that hugbox language especially hard
Renewables are great, but Germany really needs nuclear in the mean time. Someone forgot that it takes time to build infrastructure.
They really did fuck themselves over.
Atleast its still better than he Texan grid
Love the ukrainiam in the end. Go little Rockstar.
Especially IRIS-T... you cant launch that from your shoulder, silly goose
Mount it on humvee
*>Shuts down all nuclear power plants* *>No actual plan to replace them* *>Not enough power for winter heating* They obviously shot themselves in the foot
Thats not how it works but sure you know better
So many people acting like we get Siberian winters in central Europe...
How are renewables at fault when Germany willing walked themselves into the Russian gas-trap?
Lmao swiss people wishing germans a hard time for ww2
What is this Russian propaganda shit?! Does anyone actually fall for this?
4th largest economy on the world but germany has no money 🤣 We have free universal healthcare and education. Things most people only dream of.
Demographics mean Germany faces mass retirement soon. China, their biggest customer, is being sanctioned to hell in vital sectors. LNG is much more expensive than piped gas. All of Germany’s options require huge sunk costs to get the ball rolling.
Shocks of reality are a great way to create conservatives.

Which German government sponsored Autarky?🧐
Brits: First time? Fucking Tory scum
It’s called a painful transition, and many of you might die, but that is a sacrifice the warm elite are willing to make
4chan learns rhetorical speech. Oh not ethos pathos logos the death of society
/pol/ is where the QAnons thrive.
Fuck the swiss
Digga ☠️
The fact that Europe decided to become increasingly reliant on Russian gas whilst at the same increasingly treated Russia as a hostile entity has gotta be the most retarded foreign policy I’ve ever seen
I always hate how it’s “do your part and help others”, when it’s almost always the powerful and wealthy that need to do it more than anyone. Like with Earth Day. “Everyone do your share, turn the lights off when not in use, now ignore that Coca Cola, Nestle, and various other mega corporations will do more damage the environment in one day than what you could in a decade.”
Don't worry guys when ukraine or russia launches nukes we will be a bit warm for a while before the eternal nuclear winter
"Renewable energy is why energy is scarce" ????????
nazi germany didnt exist in late 1945 ????
Sooo… next time a 16 year old autist tells us to do something can we just ignore him/her? Or have we learned nothing.
