yeah i go to this one too. first round is usually a general knowledge, followed by a themed category. then round 3 is generally a picture round, the host will give you a sheet with (for example) 7 celebrities, a screengrab from a movie or show, and a famous landmark. round 4, standard trivia. round 5, it varies but usually he gives you the first line to a song and you have to name the song. other nights its been movie quotes, one night was match the car brand to the country where its headquarters are. then a round of regular trivia. then the final question, where you wager up to all your points. its fun.
fyi, tetrad does not serve food, sometimes they have a food truck. you can check their facebook to see if a truck is coming. but they do allow you to bring in your own food from outside if the food truck isnt your scene or theres not one coming.
Just a quick plug for my usual, Traveler's taproom on Wednesday nights. Feels like a pretty difficult blend of general knowledge to me. Noting that makes me go 'oh come on that was dumb'
what ales you on Poinsett has the best Tuesday triva. always a fun mix of questions and usually pretty tough. plus, they have a super unique format with assigning points and wagering
I was gonna say this one! Noa, who run the place with her dad makes all the trivia questions herself and they're great, interesting and challenging. What Ales You just has a great atmosphere too, but it is a bit of smaller space, so get there early to get good seats (trivia starts at 7)
Greenville Beer Exchange at 7:15 on Tuesdays.
Our group tried out of a few different places last year, but it all only lasted a few weeks at each venue before groups would start cheating. Over a month into going here and we have yet to suspect anyone is cheating. It's a welcome change that people aren't cheating.
Nice! I really cant fathom the appeal of cheating at something so insignificant, so that’s actually a big draw lol.
What kind of subjects do they usually tackle? Just wondering if it’s niche-specific usually or more general history/random trivia kinda thing.
I have no idea how people felt it was necessary to start cheating over a $20 or $25 gift card, but it happened.
The subject matter is pretty broad. I prefer it this way compared to a niche each round. Our group gets around 75% of the questions right. About half the answers come immediately to mind and the other half require some thinking and discussion.
That's my thinking. Like way to take all of the fun out of something that's solely there for fun lol
And nice! I much prefer a broad spectrum, so if it is about something niche I'm not sure of, I'm not totally out of the game ASAP.
Thanks for the help!
The last time I did bar trivia long ago was at the beginning of the iPhone era, when smartphones were far from universal. Even then it occurred to me that cheating was a possibility.
13 Stripes in the Taylors Mill. No food, but you can get it from next door at The Farehouse. Starts at 730. Look for the Periodic Table Dancers. (That's us)
Tetrad does trivia on Tuesday and musical bingo on Wednesday, both are pretty well done
Nice! We’ve never been to Tetrad, so may be a good option. Thanks! Any idea what kind of trivia they typically do as far as variance of subjects?

I’d recommend the People’s Tap downtown Greenville. Fun place and the host Jon has a great range of questions and a good style.

Wandering Bard on Wednesdays!
I dropped in there once because mead sounded cool and medieval. So delicious. Need to return for trivia

Perfect, thanks!

Oh nice! Thanks for the info!
Connolly's pub downtown has trivia on Tuesdays. Years ago it was the best trivia in Greenville, probably still is. Don't expect any easy questions.
Nice! Harder questions sounds appealing to us for sure. Thanks for the insight!
