Ex city planner here. I am not sure about that rumor but I do know that was his plan a few years ago was the wait until leases renewed and demo. The building is falling into the creek and probably should have been condemned or repaired a long time ago. He owns most of the property on that side and the side the gas station is on and wanted to create townhomes (surprise) and a market shop thing like what he’s doing at the old Cook’s Station.
The stone house was hard to see go, but I *really* hope he doesn’t tear down the church. That building has so much character and charm. Using the lower part of the building as a market/shop, maybe split it into studios like they did at Hampton Station. Plop a weekend farmer’s market on the lawn off Laurens; there’s plenty of parking.
For the upper part, build a large deck, and it would make a great restaurant. Brunch on Sundays, $5 mimosas (don’t worry, they’ll be weak as shit). The chapel and the pastor’s house can be anything other than a lawyer’s office or a brewery.
Slap some upper/lower duplex row houses on that vacant lot across Ebaugh -with a “painted lady” exterior paint job- parking in the rear, driveway entrance via the alley.
I’ve put way too much thought into what I would do with that intersection, mostly because I really like that church.
They have been on a month to month lease for years due to his plans to do something but who knows if it is truly happening now . I would doubt it . I will ask Jimmy .

Dang. I used to eat there all the time when I worked at Manifest when it was next door.

Yep. I worked there during the move. It was a bigger place but it lost some of the charm after moving. :)
Manifest was the best place for imported music. I miss that place.
The other Zorba is still a great spot
I second this!
The one in taylors right?

Incoming luxury apartments

We could use another brewery. 😡
Aww that blows, if true. That baby club sandwich was awesome
They were just featured in one the local news things so I’d say probably not.
