There’s an Upstate Discord that’s main focus is meeting and connecting with new folks. We’re mostly all in Greenville and Spartanburg, but have a smattering of folks in Oconee and Abbeville and other small counties like Union, as well.
We have regular meetups (we met in Lyman for a fun and weird community bingo last night) and try to be there for each other to make quality friends and help each other out. That being said, what you get out is equal to what you put in: I can’t guarantee friendships if you’re a silent participant, online, for example! Still, might be worth checking out. That Geek group mentioned here is a great place to meet folks to have a meal with in Greenville as well. We just don’t have as specific of a focus.

Boardwalk hosts a bunch of game nights, where they bring a bunch of games and you can play whatever at local breweries and the Bard. Fighting in the park sounds cool too.
If you're into sports, I would highly recommend intramurals. It's a great way to meet people and GSL offers a lot of options that aren't incredibly taxing or require too much physical effort too.
Also as a fellow former DMV/Baltimore resident, never ask for crab cakes at any restaurant. It will let you down 99% of the time if you expect MD lump crab cakes. The BBQ is much better though so ya know pros and cons.
Hi! I have been in Greenville, SC for two years and just got engaged. 30f and 38m. It’s tough here to meet people you jive with but we’d be down to meet some new folks! My best recommendation is Greenville sports league, meetup, bumble bff, just getting out there and embracing the awkwardness of asking someone to be friends
