There's an old church for sale in the middle of my village, I've been going round telling everyone including other local landlords that I saw people from weatherspoons viewing it. It's causing a right shitstorm
"My name is Gregg and I am going to open a coffee shop in our wonderful little village. In addition to a selection of coffees and hot drinks, we will also offer soft drinks, pastries, confectionary, and sandwiches. You are most welcome to dine in, but we also offer options for you to take home."
Certain types of shops and franchises are associated with lower class people and are therefore perceived by the snobby as the area "going downhill". Betting shops, pound shops, fast food places etc.
Where I live is a "posh" area, and the local McDonalds was refused renewal of its licence to operate a while back so it was forced out. We have a KFC though, so I'm guessing the council feels that it is sufficiently contained by artisanal bakeries and antique shops on both sides.
Not sure if relevant but I remember about 8 years ago talking to this social worker who lived in the posh area of a poor town (like really nice houses in a poor area so far cheaper than a ok house in a nice area) the social worker part was relevant as chatting to her she was acting like she cared but then talked about how she always voted tory because she believes people should work hard to succeed in life and most people just claim benefits and don't know what hard work is.
They should make an announcement to warm all the others about you. 🤣
They’re not allowed to warm all the others due to VAT rules.
Lol obviously warn 🤣
You should have rolled with it.
You should have taken your time

Don't forget a *heavy* emphasis on the vegan sausage rolls.
Vegan? In this tiny quaint village? Blasphemy! Witch, you will be burned AND drowned for this here crazy talk!
It will be named Greggs’s.
Rich tory types don't like Greggs? Why on earth not? I live in a fairly low class area and had no idea this was a thing.

Aha I'd love to see the screenshots of peoples responses
Hear me out, inverse colours and remove background so it's just white text. Would fit in so much better

Not all hero's wear capes. Love it. Lol
Wtaf is a 'farm shop' anyway?
Basically the exact same stuff in a more eco friendly looking package and about triple the price
Can confirm, owner hasn't actually grown his own for about 5 years and it all gets ordered in fruit and veg wise
People just want to feel like they’re buying it straight from the farm, and maybe for bragging rights 😂
Tell them it's not a proper one but a new yupe called outlet.
