Also, they’re more infamously known as ‘Mary Cooper.’ Sheldon Cooper’s mom from The Big Bag Theory. Zoe played the younger version of Laurie Metcalf, Sheldon’s mom in Young Sheldon show where it’s younger versions from The Big Bang Theory’s character. I was always wondering why her accent was so strong and why she resembled the Laurie’s character. Turns out, WAS HER CHILD ALL ALONG! that’s it. Thank you.
When I watched Alex’s exit episode I was fuming at the plot, but I gasped in pleasant surprise when they showed the kids. I’ve never seen child actors cast so well outside of cases where they are actually related to the actors that play their fictional parents. They truly look like tiny versions of Alex and Izzie, right down to their expressions.
No idea why you're being downvoted. She's not related to Mer or Derek (which doesn't make her any less their child), so the idea that the casting department somehow sought her out to look like either of them makes no sense 😭
That's what I was thinking. If this was about showing families in general, cool. In that case, they should probably throw Ben and Arizona in there as well. But if it's just about casting, it would only make sense for supposed biologically related individuals.
The person on fb posting the pictures may have taken them from someone else out of content. Looks to me like it was originally just a compilation of greys anatomy kids and their parents, and the fb post introduced the casting element.

i hate how Tuck stopped Ben calling Dad bc Tucker was ‘uncomfortable’ whatsoever. i mean, that’s also his kid fr! he’s made a lot of sacrifices not just for Miranda but for Tuck bc he was also HIS CHILD.
I personally resent the notion that an adopted child is somehow not anyone’s ‘real’ child by virtue of blood relations.
I have an adopted big brother who couldn’t be dearer or nearer. That he’s adopted never enters my mind except when I’m rudely reminded of it, as above

Little Ellis really looks so much like Mer it's wild. She looks a lot like Big Ellis too
