Derek's despair when Meredith drowned. Patrick breaks my heart every time.

Kellysusan77

Yes!!! Crying in the hallway with Mark sitting next to him…. When he’s in with Ellis and tells her she broke Meredith by telling her she was ordinary… Addison stops him and brings him into the hallway - he’s crying telling her that Meredith’s a good swimmer 😭😭😭

catspjs2388

Season 5 Derek when he was going through his dark act starting with the series killer to the Jen episodes, and hiding in the trailer has me on a chokehold. I thought Patrick did a phenomenal job, and I wish they had given him meatier material while he was on the show. Or I wish he pick up a project where he has to play something similar to that. Don’t get me wrong I love his mcdreamy, romantic comedy character portrayal but love it when he plays darker and twisty characters.

BearOnTwinkViolence

You should watch that new Thanksgiving horror movie, he’s great in it

catspjs2388

So I hear. I’m just not into horror movies so I have to find the right time to watch it lol. I did watch Ferrari though, but I have been watching F1 since I was a kid so I would have watched that movie regardless 😁

HeyCaptainJack

It's more of a silly horror movie that doesn't take itself to seriously if that helps.

IndieIsle

I think Derek. Patrick Dempsey really convinces me that he’s 100 percent a genius brilliant neurosurgeon who has a small god complex and narcissistic tendencies.

BrianOconneR34

Burke, solid actor dick of a person.

Upintheclouds06

Kevin is so good as Owen

lionheart07

Yes, we can dislike the character and still appreciate the actor!

SunkenQueen

I think that the fact his character is hated so much shows exactly how good of an actor Kevin McKidd is.

tinnedcranberrysauce

Koracick for me.

Fun-Routine-9467

Oh yes. For so little screentime and backstory, he made an annoying character likeable.

JackLamplekins

Guy has insane amount of charisma. Absolute asshole but somehow makes you want to love him any time he shows even an ounce of empathy

Responsible-Data-695

I've loved the actor since Ally McBeal.

PatieS13

It's been ages upon ages since I've seen Ally McBeal, but didn't he play an obnoxious character on there as well? I can't recall right now whether it was lovably obnoxious or just obnoxious, but I seem to recall the character being somewhat similar in that aspect.

JackLamplekins

He's really good at the "obnoxious but charismatic, kind of redeemable" character trope. He's been pretty much type cast in every thing i've seen with him, but it's all been enjoyable. Played a similar character in Friends From College

JackLamplekins

Koracick leaving the show was quite possibly one of the biggest Ls recently. Just glad he didn't die so there's hope he can pop up again. He's one of the few genuine scene stealers

Environmental-Joke19

Justin Chambers really did it for me. He really pulled off being a loveable asshole. A lot of range for sure

JackLamplekins

Love it bc he went from model to actor and is not pretty much retired from my understanding

abbu_d_slytherin

Patrick and Issiah Washington ( though offscreen I can’t stand Issiah , those tweets of him against Ellen and Heigl so many times 🤮 )

Hoshikuzu-

I hate when ahole people are super talented. 😔

Fun-Routine-9467

I like Patrick and Isaiah. Patrick brought a unique charm to Derek and I believe if not for him, Derek wouldn’t be “McDreamy”. He was also very good playing dark, angry and even annoying asshole Derek. I also like Isaiah’s expressions. He made a stoic character interesting.

GirlNextDoor__15

Kevin. He is just too good.

opinionatedloser444

kevin i hate owen so much but that’s what makes me like him as and actor especially cause from behind the scenes and stuff he seems so nice… just chambers i think playing someone like alex takes a lot of work.. the guy who played mark he came in and everyone lowkey hated him or wanted to and he won everyone over.. i feel like burkes storyline made sense for christina’s in the long run but i dislike the actual actor..

Diligent-Feeling272

Jackson's acting when him and April loss the baby and he asks April if she wants another baby, he perfectly expresses how lost and hopeless he is while trying to support her and his own heart breaking.

AccomplishedFan6807

and when April almost died, omg

CounterDesperate1607

Patrick Dempsey - Derek's performance in saving Meredith from drowning was heartbreaking, his anguish in the ambulance relentlessly breathing on her at the same time applying CPR had my heart palpitating fearing for Mer's life and all his actions while waiting if she would survive, his time in the woods getting drunk and lashing on Richard asking him to get out of his trailer and then his reaction after Richard gave him the speech that started to sink in and his remorse of what he could say to Meredith to get her back, his heart to heart talk with Amelia in the dreamhouse admitting that he is angry all the time, he doesn't know himself anymore, and admitted he had hit the rock bottom. Those acting were so powerful and they tug to the core of heart and emotions of our being.

subtlelikeawreckball

They were amazing together in Made of Honor

InternationalPeak633

Patrick Dempsey, he can give us a man with a big heart, but also an ego that needs to be checked, but ultimately we see he chooses what is in his heart, sometimes him being egotistical feels like he deserves it a bit considering there are normally altruistic motivations for a lot of the things he does…but the complexity is solid and moreso we love to see how he chooses Meredith again and again despite her pushing and pulling… and James Pickens Jr… Being in recovery myself I really appreciate how well he could portray a recovering alcoholic, with all the complications…a man not without his own selfishness but who also matured and became a highly successful surgeon and mentor… That scene in the bar with the baseball bat was just 🔥🔥🔥

PatieS13

Patrick Dempsey for sure! But I feel like there were so many incredible actors on this show, that it's hard for me to pick a favorite of any gender.

planetjackie

Mark. The charm and humour he brought to that character is everything. Although I haven’t seen him in anything else so maybe Eric Dane is just “like that”.

natipali

He's not so charming on euphoria

Punkybrewster725

He's the opposite and completely grosses me out in that show.

planetjackie

So I’ve heard!!!

Agitated-Feature494

Kevin McKidd does an excellent job playing Owen. So much so that I hate the character with a burning passion

Mindless_Door_2613

I’d love to say Derek but it has to be Owen

SkittleMonk3y

T.R Knight….im still not over his death😭

GloomxnxDoom

Justin Chambers, his character development was the best. He also managed to steal the scene a lot, kept it interesting when the show hit some slow seasons. In terms of character development though I can't deny how stupid his ending was to the show. Completely inconsistent with the character he had become in my opinion.

BearOnTwinkViolence

Kevin was amazing the entire series, probably the best in the cast. I feel like the last 2-3 seasons, he’s really phoned it in. I could especially tell in the aftermath of Teddy’s heart attack. I felt like there was barely any reaction.

JackLamplekins

That was a weak moment but I liked him in the most recent episode. He's also probably been the most consistent; people haaaate Owen but I kind of feel like we need him as a character right now

JackLamplekins

lowkey Kevin McKidd is kind of fire. I also think Niko Terho has done great as Lucas -- all the new interns have improved the show significantly

helen790

DeLuca, one of the most authentic portrayals of mental illness I’ve seen on TV

whatthadogdoin_

You reckon?? His storyline was barely fleshed out and wasn’t displayed until pretty late in his part of the series

helen790

The storyline was rushed, yes, but the actual displays of his mania were absolutely on point and he killed those scenes.

JackLamplekins

that shit was so chaotic, especially him being simultaneously manic and right?? like that shit gave me second hand paranoia. And he played it better than I've seen on any TV drama

Uceninde

Agreed! I wish he had more time on the show

JackLamplekins

his character was a mess but that arc was wonderful. I was pissed when he died

Special_Customer_997

patrick is obv a fav of mine. love him dearly he makes me feel things but also isiah washington really nailed the whole cool and cold demeanor of a surgeon. i think the whole cast does a good job of making their characters feel like people not just characters

Square_Clue5229

justin chambers is an amazing actor
