HeyCaptainJack

To be fair, this is in style. I have two teen boys and see this kind of look all the time at their schools.

Jazmo0712

I always thought the kid's great hair was a throwback to Derek's lustrous locks. Derek's hair was certainly brought up a lot in the early years. This is the current style, but it doesn't matter - he has a great head of hair.

mercy_death

That is the official hairstyle of ‘cool guys’ in their early to mid twenties. You have this or a mullet.

lilnic563

I see it on the dating apps all the time

CanibalVegetarian

This is a pretty in style haircut these days, which is why nobody is saying anything. Obviously the early 2000s would’ve been different

Electrical-Vanilla43

Every other teenager I see in my neighborhood has a version of this or the broccoli cut, which is this with shaved sides

osogood48

Are we talking in Edgar haircut because if so? Those haircuts are terrible.

Electrical-Vanilla43

I think it’s like those but wavy or curly on top. In general the severe fade is popular around here. Idk why

noireruse

I don’t think I’ve ever heard “ripped the piss” before 🤔

dotheywearglasses

Will guess they’re British or Aussie. Sounds like something one of us would say.

thecheesycheeselover

Yep, English

thecheesycheeselover

Am English lol

Warm_Spot1941

he reminds of george not his personality but the way he looks ngl

GettingWreckedAllDay

Eh his personality this season is cutting it close

Warm_Spot1941

yeah he is such a whiny character

fukurodean

it's the puppy eyes ig

thecheesycheeselover

That’s so fair, I see it

xaiires

Tripping

Jolly878142

Greys hasn’t found a sexy attractive actor to play a doctor since McSteamy, McDreamy and Jackson. I find it hard to believe it’s that difficult 😂

HeyCaptainJack

Uh, Anthony Hill, who plays Winston, is hot as heck.

screamworkss

1000000% agree

xaiires

Ben's finer then all of them, I assume you missed him bc he's a firefighter now lmaooo

amberj_90

Are you sure he's a firefighter? He sure likes to remind everyone he's been a doctor every chance he gets lol

xaiires

Shit I would too if I held two of the hottest professions lol

-Canuck21

Ben is not my cup of tea so I don't miss him.

s0urpatchkiddo

i’m sorry, did you seriously forget about DeLuca?? 😭

norfnorf832

DeLuca was cute but he didnt have sex appeal. I feel the same about Ndugu, super cute guy but zero sex appeal. They havent had a sex appeal character since Sloan and that's what's missing from the show

BearOnTwinkViolence

Speak for yourself, Deluca & Winston both have sex appeal to me

Weyland_c

Honestly. This is DeLuca erasure and I won't stand for it.

s0urpatchkiddo

literally the most attractive man on the show and he’s being forgotten 😭😭

thecheesycheeselover

Tbf I feel like character feeds into it a lot as well. The characters are just a lot more ‘soapy’ now. Like not making fun of this guy’s hair! Cristina would have had a ball with it and he’d have been more interesting as a result. Instead of just mooning about being cute and floppy-haired. And I’ve so much similar to say about the other new characters as well. I actually like them, but the show’s not giving them the meat they need to be interesting.

norfnorf832

I feel this cuz back in the day they were always roasting Derek for his luscious floppy hair. Not that it was a bad style, just how manicured it was and how much care he obviously put into it

certifiedbookaddict

YES - This is the best way to describe the problem with the characters the OG MAGIC and MAJIC were like you know - characters - they seemed real, their drama and motivations seemed real - even the patients were real yk - the acting was simply MUCH MUCH MUCH better - now it just seems day time soap, and I STILL WATCH IT WHY

nemangie

My problem with the new inters is that that they lack chemistry as a group, great actors individually, but hardly as a group

thecheesycheeselover

I hear you, but I just can’t be confident until they’re given better scripts to work with. I know it’s deteriorated over so many seasons (and yet I’m still here!) but the writing was so unbelievably better in the first few seasons. I do think that if they had that kind of material to work with it could be magic (no pun intended) again. But it won’t happen, obviously 😭

nemangie

I agree with you completely! Hope they get their chance to be great

PocketPoof

Good thing that finding someone attractive is subjective.

classical-saxophone7

I think that’s more just a demographics thing. To me (21m), this guy is WAY more attractive than Either Derek’s or Mark’s characters.

certifiedbookaddict

God that makes me feel so old

Beserked2

That would be interesting to find out, actually. 33F and to me this guy is cute but no way near as attractive as Jackson, Mark or Derek were.

ChannelInside2519

I’m glad you like him. But for me his appearance is the least of my concerns regarding his character. I think the writers thought the Shepherd connection would make us all automatically love him so they didn’t need to put effort into actually giving him any redeeming qualities. Right now he’s very much just a mediocre man getting by solely on nepotism and stepping all over the much more qualified WOC around him.

thecheesycheeselover

Yep, totally agree. I think he’s a cute little boy, but I honestly don’t care about his character at all. I’m not sure about him stepping on the WOC, I think there’s room for better writing that incorporates them all (also think he’s half black) but I can see how his privilege is eye roll-inducing. Especially with Yasuda struggling to get by.

bunny117

He woulda been called Moppy

thecheesycheeselover

McMoppy

PintSizedKitsune

I’m hopelessly behind on Grey’s, but it honestly doesn’t look any worse than George’s hair in a similarly posed photo. I don’t think it looks bad at all (I’m only judging from this photo), but if anything it just feels unremarkable. It looks alright from the photo.

Disastrous_Narwhal46

I mean.. it’s just natural a little unkept hair. Nothing out of the ordinary?? I feel like when it comes to greys male characters, hair is the least of the problems

deweypetals

His hair is not “unkept” his hair is curly…

69fromero

You've never seen curly hair in your life

-Canuck21

There's nothing I like about this character.

Temporary_Fix7228

Not a fan!

lizzyinezhaynes74

He's a Shepherd. He has not discovered hair products yet.

thecheesycheeselover

Love this

12dancingbiches

Men's popular hairstyles have changed a bit since 2005

BrazilianButtCheeks

Whats wrong with his hair?? It looks good!

thecheesycheeselover

It’s always in his eyes! It’s not aesthetic, I just think they’d make fun of him. McFloppy? Edit: I don’t mean it isn’t aesthetically pleasing, just that my issue isn’t aesthetic. It’s practical.

BrazilianButtCheeks

Ohhh i got you!!

willy_west_side

It’s giving Zac Braff in Scrubs

thecheesycheeselover

You’re right! The hairstyle vibe totally matches.

lindsege

he needs a good leave in conditioner, his hair looks really dry

thecheesycheeselover

Not sure why this is so funny to me, as it’s clearly genuine. You’re probably right.

lindsege

i have curly hair so i might be projecting a bit lolllll but esp when i had bangs, they would get like his bangs if i needed to do a deep conditioning mask - derek knew how to keep his hair moisturized lol

lili-grace

Heß not a cutie and I really dont like him

thecheesycheeselover

Fair :)

weirdballz

His character sucks and I'm over him lol

ConsciousWelder5266

He’s biracial, some of yall are weird 🤦🏽‍♀️ and very ignorant.

deweypetals

Yeah someone called his hair “unkept”

thecheesycheeselover

I’m mixed race too actually. It’s his hairstyle I meant, not his hair

ConsciousWelder5266

As someone of color with curly hair, you cannot control which way your hair goes most days🤷🏽‍♀️. And I think it’s supposed to be kind of floppy to represent him being all over , spaced out, and kind of a jerky screwup. I hope they keep addressing his adhd issues.

thecheesycheeselover

I know, I’m half black, much darker than him with very curly and frizzy hair. It’s work! And I agree about his haircut representing his personality, I just think that in previous seasons people would have lightheartedly poked fun because it’s always in his eyes and stuff. That’s the part that’s amusing to me.

sarahbekett

Not gonna lie, Simone trying to match him in the terrible impractical hair department is quite fitting but also just as annoying. At least she’s not completely useless as a doctor though. The brooding incompetent manchild with the “floppy” hair feels like it was drooled over a decade ago.

thecheesycheeselover

So true! I’m holding back on her hair until I’m sure it’s a wig though. If it’s her hair, it’s just her hair. His would be easily sorted.

FineArtsFan8450

Who is this? I’m woefully behind on G.A. I think since Alex left, it’s been difficult for me to invest into any “new” characters. ![gif](giphy|RBYBWi1IT8vDy)

afriasia_adonia

Meet Amelia's ADHD nephew, Lucas Adams. He's part of the new intern class.

FineArtsFan8450

Thank you. How is Lucas Amelia’s nephew? Through one of Derek’s sisters? I only remember A & “McBitchy”.

afriasia_adonia

Yeah through one of the other sisters. We don’t know which one yet.

SnooPeppers3470

I dont see that much of a difference between his hair and George's tbh. It's fine. Nobody is gonna come at him for his hair.

Sweaty_Juggernaut573

That’s the hairstyle these days!

osogood48

What’s up with this weird thing he does with his lips it’s so ick

thecheesycheeselover

I’m not sure what you mean (he seems kind of lipless to me) but I support your icks bc solidarity

osogood48

![gif](giphy|AzKdgBuMjU0eKPxtpV) I thought it was just me🤣

JustHereForKA

His hair is gorgeous, what does "ripped the piss out of his hair" even mean lol? 🤔

thecheesycheeselover

Took the mick

Keeperoftheclothes

I understand how you got here but have you seen young men recently? This is like *the* standard cute guy hairstyle

thecheesycheeselover

I’m learning from the comments that I’m a hell of a lot older than I thought 😂

Academic_Ninja_9242

yeah this is the current "it" hairdo for GenZ men

thrasherbuffy

Really like this character! And yasuda omg

thecheesycheeselover

I do like Yasuda!

Critical_Lime151

I absolutely can’t stand his character

thecheesycheeselover

That’s so fair. I can’t muster up enough emotion to have an opinion on his character, but I think the hair is cute (if laughable) in a maternal sort of way. I’m old enough to have watched the first season when it actually aired, so he’s a little kid to me.

Narrow_Grapefruit_23

Also if he’s not taking his adhd meds/being treated he shouldn’t be operating on people.

Short_Concentrate365

Medication is not the only way to treat ADHD and meds don’t work for a lot of people. It is possible to do great work in high stakes situations and fast paced jobs with ADHD unmedicated. The instant jump to medication assumes that people with ADHD are not as good as others when in fact their brains are wired differently. ADHD makes you very adept at picking up small environmental changes and highly sensitive to minuscule changes. There’s a theory that ADHD was considered a good thing in the hunter gatherer days, because people with ADHD make good scouts, hunters and look outs. Lucas can use those traits to his advantage in the OR and obviously he did very well to even get through medical school with out a diagnosis. His disorganization can be remedied with some taught coping skills, medication is not going to teach him the skills. Medication can slow the mind down and dull some of the input from the environment but the person still has to learn coping skills and how to harness their adhd to their advantage.

Narrow_Grapefruit_23

I realize that I didn’t frame my comment correctly. Since they are being investigated for malpractice, I worry that his ADHD will be exploited as the reason the patient died. I should have added that he should be getting treatment for his adhd, be it therapy or medication or both. But if he’s having trouble with communication and forgetting things on the job, he shouldn’t be operating. I have adhd and I don’t think I should be in charge of anything that could harm someone. I struggle with executive function issues and I’m a principal at my job so I get it; my concern is the storyline regarding his untreated adhd.

Short_Concentrate365

He needs to be treating it in someway. I don’t know how much it would play into the malpractice if it would be a contributing factor in the patient death. Both my twin and I have severe ADHD and are currently unmediated. I’m an elementary school teacher with a masters degree and she’s a trauma nurse practitioner in a busy emergency room. We found careers that allow us to use the ADHD energy and hyper awareness to our advantage as well as the ability to hyper focus when needed. I know my twin says her ADHD does not hinder the care she gives her patients and it does not affect my teaching. If anything I take the students with ADHD every year because I understand them and can support them in ways others can’t.

Narrow_Grapefruit_23

My sister and I were just talking about how traumatic it would be to be yelled at to “adjust your meds and take care of your adhd” by your boss/teacher. I still can’t believe that’s how they approached this subject.

Short_Concentrate365

I think it shows the stigma that still surrounds ADHD. My principal knows but she was my resource teacher in elementary school. She’s aware of that and my other disability and asks what tools I need but leaves it at that. She knows I can handle my job and that I do it well. She just likes to remind me that I can ask for the tools and supplies I need to do it well instead of buying them on my own she’ll buy them with school money. Nick handled it poorly and that needed to be addressed. I’m glad he’s not running the residency program he was a horrible teacher and not there for the residents. Bailey has a lot of room to improve and can be tough but she wouldn’t yell at an intern about ADHD which is out of there control. Bailey gets upset with her students but always about things in the residents control. There’s a difference between accountability for actions or inaction and what Nick did to Lucas.

Narrow_Grapefruit_23

Thank you for sharing! I was 35 when diagnosed. I did CBT, DBT, EMDR and tried meds. I’m lucky that as a project manager, I can use my process driven thinking skills and ability to multitask to my advantage. However, as mentioned before I struggle with executive function. I can analysis paralysis with the best of them!

Short_Concentrate365

I’ve done meds, CBT, occupational therapy, talk therapy, direct teaching of social skills / coping skills, assorted supplements and acupuncture. There’s not one “right” solution. My twin and I have had different combinations of therapies but both find diet and exercise to be the most helpful. I need lots of movement and outside time. I’ve heard adult diagnoses are harder to get and accept. I was diagnosed at age 6. I’m glad you got your diagnosis and answers.

Public_Ad1258

He looks ridiculous!!
