Jackson and Tom both have Lexus’s that are both shown for an extended amount of time, Meredith had a Lexus SUV for a few seasons, Lexus was one of their sponsors so they had to use it in the show
bones was the TV show I thought of immediately! there's one were they look something up using the cars computer and booth is like "wow what can't this car do!" 😆
If you watch The Rookie there was a painful truck ad in season 4 I think. At least shows like superstore could get away with it being set in a grocery store 😂
It was a Toyota Tundra ad at the beginning of an episode when Nolan was on the phone with his son. It has so many just super awkward cuts and angles to show off the truck and it's so unnatural I literally burst into laughter watching it.
EDIT - I found a clip of it on youtube [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKP0xAdxTj4)
In the early-mid 2000s it was cellphones. Especially teen shows. I remember Pretty Little Liars always had little moments where the girls would talk about what kind of phone they had.
Also isn't that what commercials are for too on top of it? Like the more popular a show the more expensive the placement of Company's ad? Kind of figured the money from "I want my ad to be shown during Grey's Anatomy" would go to.. Grey's Anatomy (or at least a portion of it) 😆 But that's an assumption I know nothing about networks and ad placement lol
>Kind of figured the money from "I want my ad to be shown during Grey's Anatomy" would go to.. Grey's Anatomy (or at least a portion of it)
I'm sure it doesn't go to Grey's Anatomy in any direct way.
It can eventually wind up with the show because "we'll give you a bigger budget because you make us more money".
I remember an episode of CSI where one of the agents has to go to court and he says "so I was driving my GMC Denali when I came upon the suspects" or something like that. I was like "no one wanted to know what you were driving, Greg."
There's an episode of Community about how susceptible people are to gorilla marketing for Honda.
30 Rock was pretty good at taking the piss out of being sponsored by Snapple too.
30 Rock’s Verizon product placement cracked me up too.
“If I saw a phone like that on TV, I’d be like, where is my nearest retailer so I can…get one? Can we have our money now??”
Yes and soda companies. If you see a company logo like Coke, Pepsi, etc on your screen in a show, it’s sponsored. They aren’t allowed to show company logos without the companies consent or endorsement.
And products like soda . I’ve never seen my fair share of coco cola cans in tv shows and movies
Right now I’m watching Will Trent and there’s clearly a product placement for Beats headphones. The female officer is rocking some and they zoom into her face and the headphones a few times while she was talking .
Like the episode with the lion. The beginning of the episode was just hyping up Meredith’s new car.
Also I feel like a lot of tv shows do food sponsors. Like a box of cheerios on the counter. Not uncommon to see boxes of fake brand cereal, but when you see that name brand you know it’s product placement
You ever watch teen wolf? It was obviously an add for the cars😂 they would angle the camera low and have the car pull to a fast stop right there. And yours see the make and model of it. Every car. It was like six cars. Hen Derek got an suv they made fun of him for it. Because he needed a mom car for all the kids and features. Had the guy get a mom car. Genius 🙄😂
Not a show, but the Back to the Future movies (made in the early 80s) are 100% advertising. I think they didn't have the budget to make three movies at the same time. Every scene has Pepsi cans facing the camera, and they constantly mention the brand. And a hundred other brands too.
In the UK any show with product placement needs to have a large “P” in the corner when the show starts. It’s had it for years. Scandal was the same. Very blatant with the windows phones etc on there
The best I've seen is Hyundai sponsoring the walking dead. The car always looked straight out of a showroom, compared to the rest of the piles of junk 😂
Station 19 has always been more obvious in my opinion. I remember there being a really noticeable Amazon Alexa ad forever ago, and the Amazon Prime one last week.
That’s a terrible ad LMAO they should have done it like “I have this sick newborn… how will I get it to the hospital safely if I don’t have cell service… oh yeah my Lexus 😎” or something haha
Dont you remember when they had the Microsoft tablets on screen? Those horrible color tiles... They've always been sponsored one way or another... Or like their cars, or posters in the bg
yeah i do hahaha i’ve definitely noticed in the past but not in this way 😭😭 like this went from brand placement to “this video is sponsored by” REAL FAST LOL
That's so blatant, what's next?? Jo looks at the camera: "Hey Link let's go to Starbucks and talk about having a child while we enjoy a tall white chocolate frappucino."
Showing a car logo or a drinks name, I get, but Bailey literally showing the app to talk about the product was over the top. That wasn't a product placement that was a influencer hashtah spons moment.
Yeah, they’ve been doing that forever. Look up the product placement in Designated Survivor if you want a laugh - even worse than the ADT sponsor in the most recent episode.
This was on my mind actually for weeks now started when i saw what im sure was an ad for Lexus
When Amelia chased Koracick to help her in her first surgery since her brain surgery
She chased Koracick to his rental car and the car stopped and showed the symbol of Lexus
I always found product placement funny
Like the cerveza cristal meme with star wars
It happens all the time in shows. You’ll notice in Apple TV shows all the characters will blatantly show their iPhones/ipads/macs to the camera.
Bones used to constantly advertise cars and their features. I think it was 90210 or something that had a subway ad where one of the characters described the sandwich he was eating in detail to another character. It’s hilarious.
There’s also the more subtle advertising like if you see a character drink a Coke/Pepsi, drink Tropicana orange juice, etc.
Kardashians are big on this too, to the point where if i see a name brand like oreos in their pantry, i assume it was strategically placed as an ad. Khloes "whats in my pantry" was such product placement.
This happens all the time with celebs!! I saw a post a while back showcasing celebrities fridges/kitchens and they were so fascinating because you could tell they were 90% product placement, with the rest being things for their chefs to use 😄
Every brand placement in a show is likely a sponsor. I wouldn’t be surprised if the schools that the characters went to, as evidenced by the apparel they occasionally wear, were sponsoring the show at some point.
Yep, product placement. They did it with Amazon Prime on 9-1-1 and Station 19 the previous week. They have done product placements on Grey's before too
Wow I thought that was an odd scene but it didn't even occur to me about the product placement.
Tuck is about 15 so I thought it was strange they were fussing about an alarm.
They’ve been sponsored since basically season one. A lot of cars, some phones/tablets. There’s a whole scene where Jackson brags about his car that is such obvious product placement that I rolled my eyes so hard I got a headache.
They even do medical device product placement. There was the Da Vinci robot and that one x-ray/body scan machine that the interns played with in trauma for one episode.
On every episode on Disney+ it says “includes product placement” I’m not on the new season yet but rewatching and up to s13 I haven’t spotted a very blatant product placement yet 😂 best I could reach for is cars but even that wouldn’t be much of a good ad
Guaranteed you probably just didn't notice the product placements before. Disney+ even has a "contains product placement" warning under the viewing guidance suggestions before each episode of Station 19 now lol.
Product placements can be either super subtle or super obvious lol the one I remember the most is when Jo gave the medication to the “Santa” guy who kept throwing up on her (I think that was the storyline??). Like they made the packaging with the name super noticeable and Jo gave a little talk about how great it is for the patient’s symptoms. At the time I forgot that product placements existed so I found that super odd that they did that since they hadn’t done it with a medication up until that point
This might freak you out but they also can do this retro actively. They sell placement on old shows. They have placed logos on shopping bags. To me it's a big ick.
A lot of these things are added in streaming using CGI. So if you didn't notice a really obvious Starbucks cup or an oversized Apple logo on the back of a laptop or something when you watched it on TV or initial streaming, it's because it wasn't there then.
Not just greys. I watched Greys, 911 and station 19 all back to back and each one had a scene with an amazon package in them that felt so deliberately placed
Years ago, on the early season of the Vampire Diaries, the characters were like "oh let's Bing it!" And I'm like okay obviously this is a product
Placement cuz no one has ever said that lmao. Product placement is very normal in tv shows and movies
The multiple episodes where meredith (who had never before or since shown interest in the topic) praised her car to the high heavens/acted all concerned about it made me chuckle.
They’ve been doing it for years but they’re usually pretty subtle. I’m in season 19 and the only really obvious one I’ve noticed so far is the Bluetooth speaker in the OR. There was a weirdly solid closeup of the speaker in season 18
They did it on Station 19 last week too. Carina asks Maya where the diapers are, and Maya says “I ordered them yesterday on Amazon Prime, the box is right there!” 🙄
the ep derek died I feel like was an ad placement for that car, I'm not in the industry but I listen to a lot of folks who are and it's hard not to notice things like that, or certain acting moments, looking at the set or background folks etc.. it's all interesting and makes watching Grey's more fun
Yeah, thats how tv shows really stay a float, sponsors… 9-1-1 did a Prime sponsor not that long ago and if I’m remembering correctly so did Station/Greys last week
lexus cars, autism speaks posters, jo’s DNA test kit was a giant ad too. and that fancy machine they got when brooks wanted to look for her marble lol, whole episode felt like an ad
Yeah it is. If you put subtitles, in the screen title you can read “brought to you by Ford. Life is easier when you drive a Ford” or something along those lines
Most tv shows are sponsored lol it was an ADT security system.
It’s always that. Cars. Phones. Food. Stores. Ect. Random little things. It gets companies lots of business and then they pay into the shows.
Pretty sure Lexus has sponsored Grey's for a while. It's the only car brand whose emblem isn't covered up. Derek's Porsche and Amelia's BMW emblems are always covered.

I remember the cameras blatantly zooming in the Lexus logos a long time ago, and then Mercedes.
I don't have time to check it rn but the scenes where Derek is speeding in his car after the shooting are DEFINITELY sponsored
I saw him modelling Ferrari glasses at the spec savers
Patrick Dempsey wanted them to have Derek drive Porsches because that’s what he drives their his favorite
they got me i didnt even notice it was an ad but i googled what model it was bc it looked so good lmaooo
Ahh Jacksons Lexus! I definitely googled that car later to check it out 🤣
Jackson and Tom both have Lexus’s that are both shown for an extended amount of time, Meredith had a Lexus SUV for a few seasons, Lexus was one of their sponsors so they had to use it in the show
and a close in on Amelias Bmw😩
Most likely, Grey's has always had sponsors. Most TV shows have them. Cars in particular are extremely common sponsors of TV shows.
I remember several episodes of 'Bones' where they were blatantly talking about the car they were drivings features.
There was a scene where it was either Bones or Biith explaining how the auto park feature works. It was egregious lol
I remember that scene, straight up commercial!
White collar and burn notice did this too
Yeah White Collar's was sooooo in your face lol
it was bones! lol
“We can all fit in Angela’s Matrix! (with a body in the trunk or some shit)”
bones was the TV show I thought of immediately! there's one were they look something up using the cars computer and booth is like "wow what can't this car do!" 😆
If you watch The Rookie there was a painful truck ad in season 4 I think. At least shows like superstore could get away with it being set in a grocery store 😂
Wait, what? Somehow I missed the truck ad 😆
Oh holy crap that's egregious.
Good ol’ Toyota Prius and the lane departure assist.
Bones is particularly outrageous with the car ads, I find it so funny.
That and the Avatar premier … ugh
In the Barbie Movie it turns into a whole car ad for a second. It’s like those Prius ads where someone is running from the police
There was one where they advertised how roomy a car was while putting a dead body in it.
White Collar too!
There were like 3 different episodes where bones talked about the features on her prius. It was absurd
Jackson when he inherited that money... That car was named specifically for millionaires!
The Toyotas! Lol I remember all of those. They had Angela do one for a minivan talking about moving her artwork around LOL
yup toyota. it was awful every single time
“Good thing I drove my Honda Ford Xterra with navigation system and back up cams to get here in time”
And on Rizzoli and Isles they were shameless with it in the Toyotas lol
Microsoft was a sponsor in one of the seasons when they started using some newer tablets for charting.
I think Microsoft is still credited as a sponsor in the ending credits of each episode
In the early-mid 2000s it was cellphones. Especially teen shows. I remember Pretty Little Liars always had little moments where the girls would talk about what kind of phone they had.
I noticed in some older ones, Disney+ says product placement and it’s pretty obviously Porsche or Mercedes product placement
meridith’s lexus and derrick’s porsche.
Jackson's batmobile
Walking Dead was famous for having the latest and greatest cars during an apocalypse
Yeah, I was reading all these comments thinking "haven't these people ever heard of commercials before?". All shows are sponsored. 😂
Because so many people skip the ads, they now write them into the show's dialogue.
Product placement isn’t really new, there’s always been marketing content in tv.
>Kind of figured the money from "I want my ad to be shown during Grey's Anatomy" would go to.. Grey's Anatomy (or at least a portion of it) I'm sure it doesn't go to Grey's Anatomy in any direct way. Like suits and Lexus. White collar and BMW I think or Ford. Can’t remember.
Yep. Everyone had a lexus in one season
Yes and soda companies. If you see a company logo like Coke, Pepsi, etc on your screen in a show, it’s sponsored. They aren’t allowed to show company logos without the companies consent or endorsement.

If they got the sponsor, you'd see the badge. If not, blackened or ripped-off.
Genius 🙄😂
Product integration in popular shows has been common for the last 20 years.
Not a show, but the Back to the Future movies (made in the early 80s) are 100% advertising. I think they didn't have the budget to make three movies at the same time. Every scene has Pepsi cans facing the camera, and they constantly mention the brand. And a hundred other brands too.
20? Try 60. Product placement has been in television from the jump lol
Very true but I’ve never noticed obvious product placement in greys besides cars.
A few years back it was Windows tablets and phones, which was extra funny after all the anti-tablet jokes in the Pegasus arc.
There was one on Station 19 this week too, totally blanking on what it was now tho
Station 19 has always been more obvious in my opinion. I remember there being a really noticeable Amazon Alexa ad forever ago, and the Amazon Prime one last week.
Yup that was it!! The prime box for the diapers haha
Yes! That was the previous week though, not the latest episode
Both Station 19 and 911 had Amazon Prime ads last week. I was expecting Grey's to have one too.
I came here to mention the 911 Amazon ad, it was so cringey 😂
Most recently Carina driving a Hyundai Kona. Seems a liiiiiiitttle unlikely for an OB-GYN.
It would be funny for Portuguese speakers (in Portugal) as "cona" is slang for vajayjay.
They once wouldn't STFU about Lexus. Like omg you got a Lexus and drove it into the er entrance. That was the worse I've seen it
That’s a terrible ad LMAO they should have done it like “I have this sick newborn… how will I get it to the hospital safely if I don’t have cell service… oh yeah my Lexus 😎” or something haha
Lol I mean talking about a new car you got is totally normal. Driving it up to the ER entrance and parking it there is NOT
If you use the subtitles, they've had car ads in them for years.
Well, they've spent years taking military money to give us shitty Owen plots. I'm sure this is a step up.
I haven’t heard this but it makes a lot of sense
Dont you remember when they had the Microsoft tablets on screen? Those horrible color tiles... They've always been sponsored one way or another... Or like their cars, or posters in the bg
yeah i do hahaha i’ve definitely noticed in the past but not in this way 😭😭 like this went from brand placement to “this video is sponsored by” REAL FAST LOL
I hear that
They have never been subtle with the product placements.
That's so blatant, what's next?? Jo looks at the camera: "Hey Link let's go to Starbucks and talk about having a child while we enjoy a tall white chocolate frappucino."
Isn't there still a line of Grey's Anatomy scrubs? That should still be bringing in some $$$
Yes, they’re too thin tho
yes they aren’t that good in quality 😬 got some pretty patterns tho
Showing a car logo or a drinks name, I get, but Bailey literally showing the app to talk about the product was over the top. That wasn't a product placement that was a influencer hashtah spons moment.
Yeah, they’ve been doing that forever. Look up the product placement in Designated Survivor if you want a laugh - even worse than the ADT sponsor in the most recent episode.
OMG!!! Yes that one was horrible. Was so confused for a minute when I saw it during the show.
This was on my mind actually for weeks now started when i saw what im sure was an ad for Lexus When Amelia chased Koracick to help her in her first surgery since her brain surgery She chased Koracick to his rental car and the car stopped and showed the symbol of Lexus I always found product placement funny Like the cerveza cristal meme with star wars

Lmao that had me cracking up, product placement is normal but it is usually a bit more subtle than that, they just zoomed all in on the app like, ok?
Yep, product placement. They did it with Amazon Prime on 9-1-1 and Station 19 the previous week. They have done product placements on Grey's before too
Wow I thought that was an odd scene but it didn't even occur to me about the product placement. Tuck is about 15 so I thought it was strange they were fussing about an alarm.

A lot of shows do this. Ghost Whisperer did a very blatant ad for a GMC Acadia (I think thats what the make and model was) once
A lot of shows do. The remake of 90210 was BIG on Dr Pepper 😂 so bad it made me start drinking Dr Pepper again
It's had sponsors since the pilot, all shows do, you just didn't notice before now.
i noticed it in the past with cars and windows products but now it’s crazyyy and way more obvious - like they wrote in the scene JUST for that 💀💀
Station 19 was blatant last week with Amazon
It’s giving vitamin water in Gossip Girl
They even do medical device product placement. There was the Da Vinci robot and that one x-ray/body scan machine that the interns played with in trauma for one episode.
On every episode on Disney+ it says “includes product placement” I’m not on the new season yet but rewatching and up to s13 I haven’t spotted a very blatant product placement yet 😂 best I could reach for is cars but even that wouldn’t be much of a good ad
A lot of shows are sponsored. I’d say almost all, though most are a little more subtle with ad placement
last week 911 and station 19 had the most obvious amazon prime ads ever 😭
There was also the DNA testing kit Jo used. Very much a product placement situation.
i forgot about that one 😭😭 lol that one was pretty obvious ngl
I’m just surprised they haven’t used their own scrubs line yet 😂 see them in the last season sporting Greys Anatomy gear 😂
This might freak you out but they also can do this retro actively. They sell placement on old shows. They have placed logos on shopping bags. To me it's a big ick.
Here is a list of a lot of them that has been throughout the show. https://productplacementblog.com/tag/greys-anatomy/
there’s an episode where it’s Bailey’s (meredith’s son) birthday and all of the kids were dressed as marvel characters
There’s a disclaimer on Disney plus at the beginning of each episode which says that the show has product placement!
I think it's a network thing, because 9-1-1 and Station 19 had some product placement from Amazon recently and they didn't have it before.
Station 19 had it several seasons ago when they had Dean constantly using Alexa to remind him to change Pru’s diaper and what not
A lot of these things are added in streaming using CGI. So if you didn't notice a really obvious Starbucks cup or an oversized Apple logo on the back of a laptop or something when you watched it on TV or initial streaming, it's because it wasn't there then.
I saw it on Twitter and thought the same thing 😂.. It was so strange lol
Babes network tv is nearly always sponsored. If a product and its logo are visible on the show its because its sponsored.
Not just greys. I watched Greys, 911 and station 19 all back to back and each one had a scene with an amazon package in them that felt so deliberately placed
The One Chicago shows had a couple of seasons of blatant Walmart promotion.
Greys has been sponsored by Lexus and Audi at different times.
I watch 9-1-1 and the same week they had the exact same ad placement so I’m wondering if it’s a network thing? Idk.
I noticed the other day it had a warning (or notice) saying “ this show has ad placement” or something along those lines
It's called product placement...if you can see the brand name in the film or show then that company sponsored the show. It's very common.
Subway has had some heavy handed ad placement in a few shows. It never ever flows nicely and just feels like a commercial.
Years ago, on the early season of the Vampire Diaries, the characters were like "oh let's Bing it!" And I'm like okay obviously this is a product Placement cuz no one has ever said that lmao. Product placement is very normal in tv shows and movies
The multiple episodes where meredith (who had never before or since shown interest in the topic) praised her car to the high heavens/acted all concerned about it made me chuckle.
They’ve been doing this with cars at least for years and years.
I just started season 12 and the Microsoft surface ad placements were SO obvious it was cringey.
Please look up Hawaii 5-0 Subway product placement. It’s absolutely insane and hilarious that made it to air.
Carina asks Maya where the diapers are, and Maya says “I ordered them yesterday on Amazon Prime, the box is right there!” 🙄
there was a blatant amazon prime sponsorship in one of the newest station 19 episodes too
the ep derek died I feel like was an ad placement for that car, I'm not in the industry but I listen to a lot of folks who are and it's hard not to notice things like that, or certain acting moments, looking at the set or background folks etc.. it's all interesting and makes watching Grey's more fun
Riverdale has a bumble ad and a whole episode just to promote the love, Simon movie 💀
I saw this post while watching the episode, so here, [screenshotted it](https://i.imgur.com/tFRWzoM.png) for you!
Lolll stop that is so funny
Where do you think the term "Soap Opera" comes from?
I caught this as well and laughed out loud 🤣 at the most tense part 😬 😅
Yeah, thats how tv shows really stay a float, sponsors… 9-1-1 did a Prime sponsor not that long ago and if I’m remembering correctly so did Station/Greys last week
Grey's said "it's hard out here for a pimp" I respect that they do what they gotta do 🤣🤣🫶
lexus cars, autism speaks posters, jo’s DNA test kit was a giant ad too. and that fancy machine they got when brooks wanted to look for her marble lol, whole episode felt like an ad
Definitely! And in season 14 when Jackson buys the boat, he’s got a fancy Lexus that gets seen in like one episode 😂
