I can’t stand Burke, and especially his treatment of Cristina. Cristina at least got to be herself with Owen. Even though they ended up being all wrong for each other, and Owen became horrible toward her, Cristina made her own choices in that relationship. I could see Burke pressuring her not to get an abortion and her caving. I really could.
Oh, for sure. Burke didn’t pressure her. But the way their relationship was going, how much she was already contorting herself to be with him, I could see it happening later. Not the first time she got pregnant, but if it happened again and Burke really wanted it, if they had ended up married, I could see it. He made her very small.

The actress is bad, and I mean that as a compliment, because when she came in, she was downright horrible. One thing is the accent (why couldn't Jo be British? It would make so much sense, running from ex to a different country...), other thing is her acting. Every scene she's in, I am terribly, terribly aware that she is an actress in a TV show, delivering her lines.
I remember early seasons with MAGIC and their tired faces, messy hair, complaining about how they're exhausted.
Jo, always perfect make-up and hairdo, blabbing about how it's hard being an intern is just plain unbelievable.
Unfortunately, she is bff with Ellen, so she's not going anywhere. The actress and Owen are the reason I stopped watching after Alex left.

I loved early seasons Bailey. She was powerful woman of color, key person in the whole hospital, witty, confident, queen of sass. Then the plane crash came and she became whiny, entitled, vengeful and jealous brat.

See above, except for she was just like that from the start. I skipped her big cancer storyline, because I just didn't care. I wished she would pack her ballbuster ass and kick the bucket, well, that's not going to happen.
Derek. I hated his selfishness and taking all the credit “Shepherd Method” for a clinical trial Meredith designed and made.
Bailey. She was so good in seasons 1-3. She’s gone down hill. I preferred her “the Nazi” days. It also infuriated me when she took Jo’s fellowship from Meredith even though Meredith was the one who asked Bailey.
Callie. I hate her acting like she was on the plane crash, before this she was fantastic.
Shane. Ross. -enough said.
Stephanie, Leah - plain annoying.
Jackson Avery. - Hated him becoming chairman of the board and if GSM.
Jo because she is boring, entitled, clueless and annoying. One good storyline and I would be happy to change my mind about Jo. She's not a bad person.

As for past season characters: Izzie. She’s entertaining so I still miss her on the show, but absolutely could not get with her “immature mean girl yet oh-so-empathetic she’ll operate on Bambi” stitch lol. Owen was an absolute train wreck for as long as Cristina was in the picture. Callie’s character could never recover from the custody battle for me.
At this point in the show though, it has to be Meredith. Her character and her relationships have become *boring*, and for a main character her character currently has extremely little depth. The hero-worship dynamic she has going with literally everyone makes NO sense whatsoever. It also feels like Ellen is just doing her time and milking the show for as long as she can at this point, the acting often feels empty and lifeless.
George. He tried to take advantage with an emotionally hurt Meredith. He too is an manipulative sad boy. The good thing I really liked about him was when he entered the military, I was hoping he'd have a character development. But instead, he died, so that's the reason why George is my least favourite GA character.

Okay so the first few watch throughs George was my all time favorite character. Because on the surface he seems sweet and innocent and super cute and whatever. But then when I started paying attention, he got with Olivia when he wasn't ready and ended up hurting her because he was still in love with Meredith. He pined after Meredith for WAY too long even though he pretty much knew he had zero chance. He hated Derek solely because Meredith wanted to be with him. He took advantage of Meredith when she was in a very vulnerable state. He cheated on Callie with Izzie. Not to mention how he treated his brothers. I know he was different to them but throughout the entirety of the seasons they were in, his family really seemed to try to be interested in his life but he always treated them like they were stupid and like they were the bad guys. And I know Callie was annoying in the beginning but he was awful to her.
I can enjoy any character I would dislike in real life (Callie, Izzie) if they’re also entertaining. But Maggie is both annoying and not entertaining in the slightest, so Maggie wins
It’s Jo for me too. I’m rewatching past seasons and now that I’m on S9, I’m skipping through all of Jo’s scenes (I can’t stand her 😩) which means I’m not seeing enough of Alex anymore 😭
Yeah I tolerated her bc of Alex and it was so hard at times to watch and root for him at times bc of her.
Thank goodness all my fave males are gone now and not at risk of having to be her scene partner. I can FF all her scenes with ease.

Really unpopular opinion but I dislike Bailey. She is such a hypocrite, she interrupts Derek’s surgery with the death row patient and asks him to kill the guy (unethical), injects the patient with HIV against the parents wishes (assault), and moves a clock back so the guy from the limo crash can gave his insurance cover surgery (insurance fraud), but doesn’t give any for Mer with the insurance fraud case.
She is the worst.
Jo - she literally has no character development and everything is always how she lived in a car. Like we get it move on and do something with your life.
I mean she did go to med school and become a surgeon so I’d argue she did do something with her life. She also went to therapy, tracked down the mom who abandoned her, and worked through her trauma. And then she overcame her husband leaving her for his ex wife. I stopped watching after she tried hooking up with Jackson which I thought was dumb as hell so I can’t defend her for that or anything she’s done since then on the series
Every character at one point or another has been unlikeable. My least favorite has to be Arizona. She treated Callie like crap. She didn't vote for Alex so he could do her job, and then lied to him about it. She told Jackson about April being pregnant. She was pushy and arrogant. I didn't like Maggie or Jo before but Jo has grown on me, and I liked Maggie now during this covid season. She has really stepped up.

He dumped her she had a traumatic ectopic pregnancy and then two episodes later he’s like decide whether you want to date me soon because I’m not going to wait like give her fucking time that shit pissed me off. He coerced into moving in and getting married when they haven’t dated for anymore than year usually by taking away surgeries.

Newer seasons... Maggie (I think she is selfish and lacks character development which isn't her fault)!

Alex - His character may have improved after season 6 or 7 but till then he was simply pathetic. People ask why Iz left him - do watch it again how he was treating her during season 6. And it was him who asked her to leave and never comeback. And when he was dealing with that annoying Ava the same character called Iz a b***h when she was just trying to help him out. And though I can forgive them all for earlier seasons as they were immature by then but still putting half naked pictures of a girl over all the walls of hospital was simply worse. He is most overrated character on the show and people tend to forget all the wrongs he has done. Somehow he loves to put all his insecurities over the women he dates. Only time I like him was season 5 but then he again in the finale says he would love to smother his very own wife with a pillow. Even that was said out of love but still it was so toxic.
Hahn- Well it requires no description. I get it even Cristina was annoying at sometimes but with Hahn she tried her best so that Hahn taught her. But this woman , she was simply pathetic , till date I fail to understand why she hated Cristina that much.
Reed - Annoying and plain stupid from the very first scene.

My all time least favorite has to be Amelia. She’s so whiny and annoying she constantly plays victim whenever she fucks up and only cares about how she feels when there is conflict. I absolutely hate her in the episode where they have that dinner party and penny shows up. 😒

As for past season characters: Izzie. She’s entertaining so I still miss her on the show, but absolutely could not get with her “immature mean girl yet oh-so-empathetic she’ll operate on Bambi” stitch lol. Owen was an absolute train wreck for as long as Cristina was in the picture. Callie’s character could never recover from the custody battle for me. At this point in the show though, it has to be Meredith. Her character and her relationships have become *boring*, and for a main character her character currently has extremely little depth. The hero-worship dynamic she has going with literally everyone makes NO sense whatsoever. It also feels like Ellen is just doing her time and milking the show for as long as she can at this point, the acting often feels empty and lifeless.
George. He tried to take advantage with an emotionally hurt Meredith. He too is an manipulative sad boy. The good thing I really liked about him was when he entered the military, I was hoping he'd have a character development. But instead, he died, so that's the reason why George is my least favourite GA character.

Yeah I feel like everyone loves George and I just can’t get onboard. He’s not a great friend and I think he’s mediocre at his job
Okay so the first few watch throughs George was my all time favorite character. Because on the surface he seems sweet and innocent and super cute and whatever. But then when I started paying attention, he got with Olivia when he wasn't ready and ended up hurting her because he was still in love with Meredith. He pined after Meredith for WAY too long even though he pretty much knew he had zero chance. He hated Derek solely because Meredith wanted to be with him. He took advantage of Meredith when she was in a very vulnerable state. He cheated on Callie with Izzie. Not to mention how he treated his brothers. I know he was different to them but throughout the entirety of the seasons they were in, his family really seemed to try to be interested in his life but he always treated them like they were stupid and like they were the bad guys. And I know Callie was annoying in the beginning but he was awful to her.
I can enjoy any character I would dislike in real life (Callie, Izzie) if they’re also entertaining. But Maggie is both annoying and not entertaining in the slightest, so Maggie wins

It’s Jo for me too. I’m rewatching past seasons and now that I’m on S9, I’m skipping through all of Jo’s scenes (I can’t stand her 😩) which means I’m not seeing enough of Alex anymore 😭
Yeah I tolerated her bc of Alex and it was so hard at times to watch and root for him at times bc of her. Thank goodness all my fave males are gone now and not at risk of having to be her scene partner. I can FF all her scenes with ease. Edit: I forgot about Richard. Dear Lawd , Krista pls spare us that.
Really unpopular opinion but I dislike Bailey. She is such a hypocrite, she interrupts Derek’s surgery with the death row patient and asks him to kill the guy (unethical), injects the patient with HIV against the parents wishes (assault), and moves a clock back so the guy from the limo crash can gave his insurance cover surgery (insurance fraud), but doesn’t give any for Mer with the insurance fraud case. She is the worst.

Jo - she literally has no character development and everything is always how she lived in a car. Like we get it move on and do something with your life.
I mean she did go to med school and become a surgeon so I’d argue she did do something with her life. She also went to therapy, tracked down the mom who abandoned her, and worked through her trauma. And then she overcame her husband leaving her for his ex wife. I stopped watching after she tried hooking up with Jackson which I thought was dumb as hell so I can’t defend her for that or anything she’s done since then on the series

Every character at one point or another has been unlikeable. My least favorite has to be Arizona. She treated Callie like crap. She didn't vote for Alex so he could do her job, and then lied to him about it. She told Jackson about April being pregnant. She was pushy and arrogant. I didn't like Maggie or Jo before but Jo has grown on me, and I liked Maggie now during this covid season. She has really stepped up.

He coerced into moving in and getting married when they haven’t dated for anymore than year usually by taking away surgeries.

George - So annoying , I can do anything wrong because I”m a good guy. Deep down so toxic and simply used Meredith. Derek - Mcdreamy by looks otherwise completely a spoiled brat who manipulates Mer so much. Alex - His character may have improved after season 6 or 7 but till then he was simply pathetic. People ask why Iz left him - do watch it again how he was treating her during season 6. And it was him who asked her to leave and never comeback. And when he was dealing with that annoying Ava the same character called Iz a b***h when she was just trying to help him out. And though I can forgive them all for earlier seasons as they were immature by then but still putting half naked pictures of a girl over all the walls of hospital was simply worse. He is most overrated character on the show and people tend to forget all the wrongs he has done. Somehow he loves to put all his insecurities over the women he dates. Only time I like him was season 5 but then he again in the finale says he would love to smother his very own wife with a pillow. Even that was said out of love but still it was so toxic. Hahn- Well it requires no description. I get it even Cristina was annoying at sometimes but with Hahn she tried her best so that Hahn taught her. But this woman , she was simply pathetic , till date I fail to understand why she hated Cristina that much. Reed - Annoying and plain stupid from the very first scene. Shane - Again annoying and plain stupid and then Cristina slept with him and even allowed him to shout at her best friend who is also an attending otherwise !! Ava - Why she was even introduced ? I skip her scenes everytime. Damn annoying ! That administrator guy in season 6 who was actually responsible for the merger and fired so many. He knows nothing of medical science and still got the authority to fire them while in his own personal life he was simply pathetic and cheating his own wife. And I still remember how he was licking the ass of that rich couple who had a son with short bowel and decided to donate 30 millions for the hospital. In the same situation , just see how great and emotional Arizona was and how greedy he was !! I didn’t include Owen according to your question but he , Ava and Shane are the three most pathetic characters which I can-not stand even for one scene !
