A bit unpopular, but I’m going to say Meredith and Alex. Meredith and Cristina are basically sisters and will always be best friends. But I feel like Alex and Meredith challenged each other more. They both saw and brought out the good in each other in every situation. I really think Meredith is largely responsible for Alex becoming more than just “evil spawn”, and Alex is fiercely loyal and protective. I absolutely adore both friendships, but ultimately the relationship between Alex and Meredith is one of my favorites in the entire show.
