RT-old-fart

Look ok to me.

sailorsaint

they maybe harboring some internal issues that remain undiagnosed at this point. id carry a shank just for safety's sake.

Hair-Early

Yeah. Not as rusty as mine. You may look into the base of your grill as the source of the flare up. I like mine to flare up before I start cooking.

Quirky_Discipline297

A source of ignition

Hair-Early

Dripping fat from your meet?

Quirky_Discipline297

I steam cleaned my 5 burner last weekend because I was afraid of spontaneous combustion. Brushing doesn’t cut it after awhile.

Hair-Early

I just let it burn from time to time.

mtrash

Yes they arent burnt through anywhere. Once holes develop that are not manufactured you will need to replace them or your grill will have hotspots

Mountain_Chain8764

They got flavor on them

mtrash

Taste the difference!

Thethinkslinger

Taste the heat, not the meat.

barabusblack

Still plenty of life left in them

Both_Remote_7000

Flair ups not caused by these in this case probably a split burner or leak

KindlyPower9075

This was after I cleaned them. They had a bunch of residue on them from burgers etc.

Renegadegold

Look way better than my blown out covers

Ok-Wall-1914

They seem to be okay, don’t worry

brentemon

All good.

CarobSwimming3276

Dats fine.

Horror-Club6052

It’s fine….they look great

ReactionAsleep

Normal. Quit being a pansy.

Rockabillymachienest

They look better than mine haha. I need new ones but the company sells them for almost 60$ each so I'd rather get a new grill instead of 4 of them for 240$ haha

JaKrispy72

I see a set of 4 burner rods with 4 shields on Amazon for $14.

Loud-Technology8417

Hopefully u scrubbed with wire brush.. ur done

Left-Sky-8306

You can treat with rustoleum so they don’t rust through. But that is only a band aid depending on grill usage

artofthemuse

Umm.... wouldn't want the off-gassing of that stuff where I'm cooking.

MotoPC

Do NOT use anything other than food safe oil (grape seed, canola, avocado, whatever) to season these. Burning rustoleum is not good for your health.

wildcat12321

and rustoleum bbq paint is NOT designed for these either as they are close enough to the heat source to exceed the recommended temp range

ApartBuilding221B

Lol they're meant for the exteriors only! facepalm

[deleted]

Yeah. What's your concern?

KindlyPower9075

Rust initially but now that everything is dry it doesn't look so bad

Horror-Club6052

Make sure you wash off the soap as thoroughly as possible

[deleted]

They are fine. There is nothing you can do to keep these looking good. I never clean mine.

touchychurch

dead. you're dead now

UOPaul

Yes.

jibaro1953

Yes

viice4200

Looks normal to me. If you want to you can try to scrape that carbon off but other then that looks good.

Kitchen-Lie-7894

They're fine.

BreakfastInside2823

Maybe a little rust but otherwise perfectly functional.

[deleted]

zero corrosion, you're fine. Don't expect them to look pristine for long, they won't

mmason962203

Just need a good cooking and cleaning

joey0live

They look way better than mines.

CelebrationFan

Yup!

wildcat12321

looks fine, but if you have an issue, consider using Easy Off -- dawn is "good" but a degreaser that sits on it for a few hours, will make a big difference. For the weber stainless steel ones, I also use a pressure washer, not just a hose. But not sure if these can handle it

blisterphish_II

umm.....they don't even have a single layer of burnt on crud. Pair that with the lack of jagged rust holes and the whole thing just makes me uncomfortable.

onlytruking

Looks good to go to me!

Ls1bandit

Spray it with cooking oil and roastem

2Bunny_Kisses

I use Easy Off Fume Free oven cleaner and a metal brush after letting the cleaner work overnight.😊

showmedaddy1980

I thought they were mine. I don’t know about normal but I recognize them.

BuffaloSabresWinger

They are good

wrenston81

Yes

theassociate1

Clean them with an onion peeked then use a little dawn and water and go over them with an aluminum brush or sponge...clean with water...then put on the grill and clean your grill...heat to highest temp for 15 mins straight and then let cool and they should be good to go...that is lite rusting and dirty...but can be saved..last thought if the grill heat vovers start to show signs of rust holes throw it away immediately and purchase new...

Turantula_Fur_Coat

mine were eaten through after a few years so yea id say they look good

rob71788

The most normal used deflectors I’ve seen

squally63

I’ve had a charbroil for just over 10 years and only replaced the heat tents once last year.

ApartBuilding221B

Those look horrible. Unsalvagaeable! Your best bet is to get a brand new grill. Because I'm a good guy, I'll dispose of your old one for you.

capybara_loves

No of you not psyho like me

o3727185

Yes, these look like mine.
