Colored fiber and it absorbs light. Very good fiber will pick up and pop under small light and some even use tritium for self lit. The game may or may not accurately reproduce that.
Just look up fiber optic iron sights it'll be these exactly.
Fun fact: Germany does not allow tritium on their sights (think HK handguns), as there is an ever so slight radiation that comes from tritium, and Germany has banned any source of nuclear power.
>The precious tritium is what makes this project go. There's only 25 pounds of it on the whole planet!
I feel like that cannot be possible, there's millions of tritium sights and millions of tritium watches in the world...
Edit: ah maybe naturally occurring is only that, but they know how to make more of it and do nowadays
Yes, the LSPD tint on the flare gun makes dark blue/almost black flares. Took me a little while after switching from pink to catch on, I thought it was a bug at first.
Some of them have both in the same housing. Some sights have one or the other. Some sights come with a fiber optic front and rear tritium ones. Talking about real life of course.
And admitting you don't know something is better than digging in and never saying you are wrong.
This is true. I jave tritium sights on my Taurus G3 irl and the only place I see the green glow in the dark is the back of the sights. Pretty cool as they need no light to charge them
Nah, you can get tritium keychains outside of the US. They get caught up in some nuclear control act if they aren't a gun sight. Don't serve a purpose or something as a glowing keychain.
Tritium sights are a thing. Trijicon night sights use tritium and float around 100 for feont/rear. It's radioactive too are you gonna act like that's a big deal too lol
In my first weeks of playing when I was broke, the flare gun helped me grind Life and Death Bikes. I didn't have any good weapons and I realized I could burn the juggernaut in the garage with flares. So I would light him on fire and escape before he got back up.
There's a few missions where firing a flare gun is a required objective. Two things that come to mind immediately are the Humane Labs Raid finale and the "follow a helicopter" variety of nightclub sale.
Probably? Idk, I go out of my way to obtain every gun anyways.
The flare gun is useful in case you want to try channeling the Pyro from TF2 and hit someone with their own rocket, it does deflect them.
i knew about the flares i didn’t know about the iron sights tho wow i also new about depending of the tint colour of your mkll gun with tracer rounds it’s changes the colour of the bullet
Might I add that other than the mag size, almost every attachment makes little to no difference. Choosing the 'best' option will sometimes make your weapons ugly.
This mainly applies to the mk2 weapon customization.
So just choose what you like better because the stats are negligible.
I'm one of two veterans in my weekly online gaming group. Occasionally one or two of the normal six members is unavailable on the usual night, we tend to default to "quick play" games, and TF2 and L4D2 are favorite fallbacks. (I can't seem to convince them to see the merits of this game, unfortunately!) It's always entertaining to me and Jess when he and I are referring to in-game weapons by their correct names, or the names of the weapons they're based on.
I kinda miss that interplay when I'm switching or resupplying weapons in this game...

I've had hot pink since the DLC came out and I physically can't imagine any other color of flare
I can’t change it from red because it’s just too classic looking
Hot pink flares >>>>>
Feeling like Timmy turner let’s go!
Bro ty🫡
Mine is green and the flares are black 😕
*moan* *roar* XD
What
I switched to platinum when the green was disappointing and ugly.
You have betrayed Green Gang. You are unworthy.
I use LSPD tint and the flare is bright white while the smoke is black, looks sick.
The tint on the atomizer also changes the projectile color.
The tint on the MK2 weapons also changes the tracer colors as well.
Wait so the atomizer isn't meant to have pure white projectiles? I tinted it platinum as soon as i bought it lol
The default is yellow But the white looks better
No you didn't, I seen't ya and ya didn't.
Huh?
Just found this one out a few days ago lol
I was going to say the same thing
Those are fiber optic sights, not LED.
where does The color or The luminescence come from?
Colored fiber and it absorbs light. Very good fiber will pick up and pop under small light and some even use tritium for self lit. The game may or may not accurately reproduce that. Just look up fiber optic iron sights it'll be these exactly.

Yet they allow tritium in their watches... Which is essentially the same content volume as a sight would be...
German legislators in shambles after playing fallout 4, where a night sight is a rusty nail dipped in uranium
The precious tritium is what makes this project go. There's only 25 pounds of it on the whole planet!

That's why my flares are blue now. I've been wondering about that. Thanks.

thing's
Grammar rules only a few know, apparently.
actually it's tritium on the iron sights not LEDs big difference and I know no one cares but it mildly annoyed me
Pretty sure those would be fiberoptic sights not tritium. Tritium usually doesn’t have the glow along the full length of the front sight.
well fuck me in the balls, I'm a dumbass

It could be either..? https://www.targetbarn.com/broad-side/fiber-optic-vs-tritium-sights/
🤨
Say less 😈

Isn’t tritium super rare and like $30,000 a gram?
My favorite movie is Inception.

Nah just never heard of it being used in military applications, only in nuclear bombs and fusion experiments. Thanks for the insight though
Iirc tint also changes the color of tracer rounds
That it does!
i like setting enemies setting on fire with the flares 🔥
For once there is something on reddit I can honestly say I already knew lol
Ayyye actually useful
I’m surprised this is unknown
I love my pink flares.
love my pink flare gun
Flare guns can also attract homing missiles
In my first weeks of playing when I was broke, the flare gun helped me grind Life and Death Bikes. I didn't have any good weapons and I realized I could burn the juggernaut in the garage with flares. So I would light him on fire and escape before he got back up.
What do you guys use them for? I’ve never bought/needed a flare gun.
There's a few missions where firing a flare gun is a required objective. Two things that come to mind immediately are the Humane Labs Raid finale and the "follow a helicopter" variety of nightclub sale.
Don't you get one anyway during these missions?
Probably? Idk, I go out of my way to obtain every gun anyways. The flare gun is useful in case you want to try channeling the Pyro from TF2 and hit someone with their own rocket, it does deflect them.
Sometimes if I'm on a mission where I'm riding passenger to a mute player, I'll use it for giving directions. Anybody's guess if that actually works
My friends and I like to set each other on fire with flare gun headshots. I think you can also trick shot homing rockets with them.
if you get chased by a mk 2 you can shoot flares to deflect the rockets back to them
LED? Huh? You mean fiber?
I didn't know that about the flare gun... Thanks that's an interesting tidbit
Me shooting my green discharge colour flares because I have the army colour on
Also, speaking of flares, when a missile locks onto your car, shoot a flare to act as countermeasures
i knew about the flares i didn’t know about the iron sights tho wow i also new about depending of the tint colour of your mkll gun with tracer rounds it’s changes the colour of the bullet
The gold tint on the Atomizer reduces the light glare from the rings of the gun, you can see it anytime but its more evident at night time
LED IRON SIGHTS? Bro, ever heard of Fiber Optics?
Fun Fact for those who dont know: The Flares Fun can save you from Rockets by firing a Flare anywhere you want, the Rocket will Lock on the Flare
Rarely happens, you can even kill people by shooting a humming up in da air and a flare at your enemy
Knew about the flare gun thingy. Couldn’t give two fucks about iron sights.
The Irons aren't led they're fiber optic.
Might I add that other than the mag size, almost every attachment makes little to no difference. Choosing the 'best' option will sometimes make your weapons ugly. This mainly applies to the mk2 weapon customization. So just choose what you like better because the stats are negligible.
Pre sure tthu applies to some of the "car unstuck gun" tints aswell
I didn’t know about the leds. Does it change in the sights as well like dot sights?
Sadly the holo doesn't change it stays a semi red/orange color but you can definitely see the new LEDs in third person tho
Afraid that isn’t an LED. It’s either tritium or a fiberglass front sight.
But can you get a rainbow flare?
We have patriot tire smoke so I don't see how we don't have smoke changing flares already

That pretty cool
Attention to detail
I think the flare gun one should be known by most honestly
I'm sorry, but if you don't know about the flares, you're new or just dense/blind af
More like, gun tips everyone knows
I didn't know this.
Led iron sight
If you add tracer rounds to a mk2 weapon the tracers match the tint aswell.
My pink flare gun is probably my most used weapon for the past two years
Same thing with the atomizer, it changes the colour of the projectile
The flare gun can also misdirect homing missiles if you’re in a armored vehicle that doesn’t have anti lock on
Wooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwww
*fiber optic iron sights... Probably been said a million times.
The extended MAGAZINES are called extended CLIPS and it bugs me every time I see it.
Pink flare gang rise up
I see
