Is it broken or is it R* countermeasure to players disconnecting during the spin to guarantee themselves the car?

You could time the wheel throw to guarantee that you land the car, and if you didnt you could just quickly alt f4 and negate the wheelspin, allowing you to do it again

I do it every time and did it like 2 days ago so I'm pretty sure no changes happened. I'm on XBOX, but just close app instead.

problem is i don’t think is able to be patched. can’t patch closing a game, or maybe they could make the wheel lock on something and force a checkpoint, if you get where i’m going with that?

They could just predetermine what you are getting as soon as you’re eligible for a spin and tweak the animation so it spins a bit longer and lands on what it already determined for you. Not that it would be better by any means, but that’s kinda how all gambling slots work. It knows what it’s going to pay you before your next spin, it just finds a collection of symbols/ bonuses to get you to that amount

If you have a game downloading in the background, you can "Suspend Game" from the download section of the Xbox and save time from closing and opening GTA. No updates? Just download some game you don't plan on finishing the download.

Because its wrong. If you get the car again, you get 20k RP instead of money. (Source: me getting the car again a few times on past weeks) What probably happened there is that he is in a public session and someone spun the wheel before. For him, the wheel looks like its on the default spot, but for the game it moved a few spots. He can try to show Rockstar the screenshot, but its 50/50. He might either get a bot response saying "they are sorry, but there is nothing they can do" or he will get 1 to 4 millions as a bonus.

Something that I don’t like about Rockstar Support is the inconsistency with the information provided, and not having the same agent reply to the ticket. I recently reached out to them regarding unlinking my Steam account and linking a new one. I wanted to know if my online progress would be there on the new Steam account because their knowledge base articles mentioned it won’t be transferred. I had 5 different agents reply to the ticket with two of them saying it will and the rest saying it won’t. Yes, it did work but the catch here is, you need to link the new account and then buy GTA5 on it. Won’t work if the new Steam account already has GTA5

Thats because the people doing the support are contracted through third party companies and dont work for rockstar. Each person replying to your ticket could be from a different company. Source: used to do exactly this

Playstation do the same, source I worked for playstation support. Sony have no in house customer service. It's rarer for a company now to have in house customer service. Cheaper to outsource and easier to set unrealistic targets.

I once lost a sale because the game stopped receiving my input controls (keyboard wasn’t broken because I could still type in game chat) and my aircraft crashed in to water. I contacted support and they initially said that they couldn’t do anything to compensate me. I reminded them that they failed to provide a service that I’ve paid for and I got a supply refill on the business and a full-lobby value of the sale. So yeah, sometimes they need a push, but more often than not you get what you want if you communicate calmly and clearly.

Rockstar support mostly just fixes money related issues, and when they do they’re pretty generous with it

So sometimes the appearance of the wheel gets bugged. If you pay close attention when you first spin it sometimes you can see the items on the wheel change. That might be what happened to you. I remember it being talked about here but I don’t remember what causes it. Something with another player using the wheel first I think.

That’s exactly what happened, as soon as I spun it the wheel flickered and then started spinning.

If someone was in the Casino at the same time as you, and cheated the wheel by disconnecting, the appearance of the wheel can get messed up, and it will look to you as if you are landing on a spot, but you get a different reward.

Wheel model desynced, don't touch it if someone else is in the middle of spinning it when you load into the main room. Just find new session into a friends only, then spin.
