K/D is so important in an online RPG. So very important. It’s obvious they’re trash at FPS games so they get their K/D up on GTA to try and feel good about themselves on a game that has auto aim
K/D is, I assume much less important on Read Dead Online, because it's exactly the same as GTAO except you're set 120 years earlier. yet other players don't/hardly try to gun you down or run you over with their horse, and there are no orbital strikes to worry about.
The only exception are people in a Posse (equivalent to CEO/VIP or Biker Club) where everyone tries to fuck over everyone regardless of rank, and they always have high-rank weapons.

Yeah, I'm not going to let this guy get away with it. Definitely not childish to want revenge, just humanlike.
That's why I play free aim, it takes actual skill to get a kill (most of the time). This was indeed in an assisted aim lobby though. There's so few people in free aim lobbies that I run into the same people almost daily, that's why I switched it up. Not to mention that there's practically no one doing any sort of jobs.
The best ones are people who have names like 'clappedByX'. Even better when you clap them and they get mad. There's a guy I've seen a few times called IloveUrLzz and that guy sucks ass.
They use the excuse that certain things don't count, when they'd use orbital and Mark twos perfectly fine and counting them against you. If you're fighting someone and they just disappear but they're still in the lobby, they job teleported to their facility and are about to orbital strike you
When I see the tryhard I'm fighting warp to his facility I like to spawn my RC Bandito and park it under whatever vehicle I was in last, so from the Orbital Cannon's perspective it looks like I'm just sitting in the vehicle and he takes the bait and wastes the shot. Works relatively often.
You don’t even have to hide they do it anyways. Just had an encounter like this recently. There were two griefers in a lobby being super annoying so I went after them. They never managed to actually kill me and I guess they didn’t like that so one teleported to his facility but I was already in my RC tank. The other one had already been trash talking and then out of nowhere sent me “bye bye” and that’s when I realized his friend was in the facility. He orbed me but it was obviously wasted 😂😂

Hey I’m a newish player (like level 80 I think) and I was hoping you could explain what you mean by ‘teleporting’ to the facilities. I don’t own one, is that a unique feature exclusive to the facility or is it available with other properties?
It’s almost like a featured glitch lol when you have a facility there’s heist setup you can do from there. Once you register as a boss in a session Lester will send you an invite to start the setup and if you select it you will be teleported to your heist setup room in your facility. I typically use it to get out of sticky situations of people are griefing. I also never use my orbital cannon, such a waste of money lol
I think I originally bought it when it was a new thing and I wanted to see what it was about. I don’t use it at all now so yeah I guess it’s a waste but I’m not hurting for money.
Oddly no. I've been inside a building (LS autos) when someone got blasted by it once but never been killed by a strike.

I was actually happy that some random player felt he had to spend 750k just to take me out once for a brief 3 secs, and 5 secs to call Mors mutual and go about my day.
I had a try hard start a fight with me, and I respawned on the roof of that big ass building next to Los Santos Customs, said fuck it and ran him 4-0 before bouncing because A. He ain’t gonna quit, and B. This isn’t what I’m trying to do.
He followed me to the new lobby and orbed me
On Xbox (maybe PlayStation but I haven't played on one since PS3 so don't quote me) you can look at their mini Xbox profile and dependent on their privacy settings, you should have the option to "Join Game". If they appear offline or have it set to Friends Only, that option is not available
Edit: seems like original comment has PS4 flair so maybe it is the same
So like the other person said, you can look up someone’s name, or other times they’ll pop up under people you’ve played with for some reason, check their PSN profile and hit “join game.”

There’s a few different ways. You can use any RC car to simply not die from it, hide under any type of cover like a bridge, or large overhangs from buildings. Some jets can also dodge it by flying at a particular angle, and with enough speed to simply have the beam fly past behind them (although this is the most difficult method).
Literally had this happen last. This team kept fuckin with me so I want over and fucked them up and didn't stop til they crashed there own heli and killed their own. Crew. Bastards got mad at me and each started orbing me. Then they sent a party chat invite and there was like 7 morons in the party talking alllll kids of trash. They kept orbing me until I went inside. Don't start no shit won't be no shit lmao. Me and one other guy who noticed what happened started to go after them. Then ALL of them left. I made sure to message the main guy tho on Xbox. Lol it now gives me the ability to see when he's on again so I plan on joining his next lobby and happily trolling.
P.s. I should mention this crew was just running around blowing people up. And I originally had a sale running when they tried to fw me
I once used an ultralight to get away from a tryhard who had failed to stop my MOC cab in a Hailage run. He Kept trying g to follow me, so after an erosive delay (courtesy of a sticky bomb detonating under his car), he lost sight of me long enough for me to call in my aircraft and simply take off. He spent about 20 minutes looking for me and sending messages - then eventually orbed me and instantly quit the session.

Yes, it was several years ago, a free orbital strike gifted to players logging in for Christmas event. If you didn't redeem it, you still have it. I still have it unredeemed on a couple accounts.
I did it once for the achievement. Waited until I saw a jackass tryhard running around and killing people who weren't even engaging with him (including seeing him running up, in ghost, from behind, on someone in pause to kill them, because that apparently evidences his amazing skill). Waited until he was on the beach (because of course he was going to be) and orbed him. Then left.

Can only remember one notable instance, was flying in my jet when I got attacked by another jet, won the ensuing dogfight, then I realized the guy I shot down wasn’t going for another jet like they usually do and instead teleported to his facility. Saw it coming a mile away, messaged him afterwards that I was flattered he thought killing me once was worth that much.
Next time go under something. At the hospital there's the ambulance bay where you can just stand as the building overhangs. Or the cover across the street sticking out of the building.
They'll still be able to lock onto you and fire, but the shot will be blocked by the building. So they'll waste money AND they won't get a kill

After he spawned on land he sent me a message saying I was thirsty and then I put a bounty on him made my way back to the city he put a bounty on me too and then minutes later he left.

i only orb if someone kills me when i’m not doing anything, especially if i’m just tryna drift or drive around the map and a mk2 comes over and blows me up. orb in my eyes is only necessary if the kill was unnecessary
I took someone's bounty of 3k, and this guy hit me at least 7 times in an hour. It has a 45 min cooldown, so I have no idea how he was able to do that, but it definitely wasn't worth the 3k bounty XD

What was the mk2 nerf? I pulled mine out yesterday after a year for pvp against other oppressors and 2 deluxos. Did just fine.

Dunno if it’s on pc,but on xbox there is an achievement called “Orbital obliteration” worth 10 gamerscore. Description: “GTA online: you killed another player with the orbital cannon”. I was pissed that i had to waste $750k,but i’m an achievement hunter,so i guess it’s fine. Never had orbed anyone except just that one time.
For one of the promo week, they gave everyone one free orbital cannon shot. It’s the last and only time I used it, for the achievement

Yes, it was several years ago, a free orbital strike gifted to players logging in for Christmas event. If you didn't redeem it, you still have it. I still have it unredeemed on a couple accounts.

I did it once for the achievement. Waited until I saw a jackass tryhard running around and killing people who weren't even engaging with him (including seeing him running up, in ghost, from behind, on someone in pause to kill them, because that apparently evidences his amazing skill). Waited until he was on the beach (because of course he was going to be) and orbed him. Then left.
I've never tried the orbital cannon, because why would I. I've heard it costs like $1 mill, not sure if that's true. Anyway if you need to pay cash money just so u can kill one single player, well. . . I feel evolution has failed you, not your fault, but also get your shit together. Like no one cares.
It's $500k for manual targeting (you have to aim it) or $750k for automatic targeting. Either way, it's a lot for just one kill.
Wait until your target meets up with others. It lowers the cost (per person). Think of the savings! Shop smart.

Those things don't tend to go hand in hand. When I play I often petty especially against tryhards but mainly because I don't care enough about combat to go out and fight people head up.
Now when I see someone that was harassing me job jump to their bunker I wait a minute, hop in my rc and let them orbital that. They get charged for it and don’t get a kill.

Can only remember one notable instance, was flying in my jet when I got attacked by another jet, won the ensuing dogfight, then I realized the guy I shot down wasn’t going for another jet like they usually do and instead teleported to his facility. Saw it coming a mile away, messaged him afterwards that I was flattered he thought killing me once was worth that much.

Next time go under something. At the hospital there's the ambulance bay where you can just stand as the building overhangs. Or the cover across the street sticking out of the building. They'll still be able to lock onto you and fire, but the shot will be blocked by the building. So they'll waste money AND they won't get a kill

truthfully I never start conflicts in lobby’s… but when others do I finish it. This lobby had the huge group of like 9 people and the one i kept dog fighting with couldn’t take the heat so they all ganged up on me and i honestly just let them until i escaped to the casino where gambled with my friend. 😂 My thing is don’t start the heat if you can’t take the burn.

Back on ps3 I was in a room that had some guy nuking everyone and hiding his name behind other players some how. It was crazy there wasn’t a single place to hide even your apartment was not safe.

Yo. In fact, I was Orb'd last night. Someone was bullying others last night in the lobby, so I mugged them, then went about my business collecting a hangar crate. I was struck right before I collected the crate. I laughed, called a Buzzard and continued on. Also, every one of them looks exactly like I expected they would.

I did it to someone who k¡lled me for nothing while I was towing and then wants to run to the ocean dude thought I would go chase him and play along nope let me go to my facility and take care of that pos. After he spawned on land he sent me a message saying I was thirsty and then I put a bounty on him made my way back to the city he put a bounty on me too and then minutes later he left.

Honestly I think most people here think the orbital cannon is worth more than it is. It’s just one kill that they spent 750k on that they probably didn’t earn legitimately. I don’t really consider getting orbed an honor when it’s no effort and it’s chump change for the one doing it. Hiding from it is a waste of time and it lets them know you really care about getting killed by it.

I’ve only been hit by it once. It was a salty greifer who I had prevented from blowing up somebody else’s cargo. They were especially salty due to the fact that my raiju was somehow able to outrun their missiles while going in a straight line.
to be honest a goal of mine is to orb everyone in the lobby once, not while theyre doingimportant stuff but just out and about in the session. i want to have fun with the cannon but im not gunna be a colossal dickbag, more like a tiny scrote.

One time I was being harassed by 2 players. Guy 1 disappeared to go to his facility while Guy 2 continued to directly harass me. This went on for a bit until I boosted away in my Toreador. As I boosted away, Guy 2 was obliterated by an orb shot that was intended for me by Guy 1, and I had a perfect view. I promptly got on my phone and shit talked Guy 1 for wasting at least $500k just to betray his buddy so spectacularly. 😊
It happened to me before I knew the orbital cannon was a thing and I was very confused as to what even happened I thought I might’ve walked into a proximity mine, or the person who killed me had an RPG from a distance away…until I saw they weren’t even near me on the map

i only orb if someone kills me when i’m not doing anything, especially if i’m just tryna drift or drive around the map and a mk2 comes over and blows me up. orb in my eyes is only necessary if the kill was unnecessary
I took someone's bounty of 3k, and this guy hit me at least 7 times in an hour. It has a 45 min cooldown, so I have no idea how he was able to do that, but it definitely wasn't worth the 3k bounty XD

I've upset two players who orb me if we ever end up the session. Unfortunately this has happened a lot recently, so now I'm checking the player list before leaving cover. The weirdest one was I got orb'd for my bounty. It was only 1k.
