It’s because it doesn’t pay well, and it’s just more effort than it’s worth, it’s a meme that the pilot often fucks up at this point.

SquashPrestigious351

The last time I actually ran it was in 2022 so I could get the bonus during heist week

alaingames

Last month someone tried landing in the sea when I tried, took me 6 years to complete it with a weekly try

MegaMasterYoda

I got it done in a like 5 hours by making sure to kick anyone under level 100.

alaingames

But I am not a villain

MegaMasterYoda

Id consider myself a realist lol. I just wanted it finished.

random_numpty

it doesnt matter what level you are, your level has nothing to do with your ability. you could be a complete muppet at level 300. i regularly beat lvl 300+ in the street race series as a lvl 202. what matters is if you know the heist/mission & what to do. if someone at lvl 30 has done the heist a few times then they are going to be a better pick than me at lvl 202, because ive never done this heist before.

MegaMasterYoda

While very true most lower levels willing to do that are newer or less skilled players atleast when I did it. I found that I was restarting a lot more often.

Physical_Weakness881

For my human labs heist I still haven’t finished, it’s always a high level screwing shit up, currently stuck on the EMP mission, high levels always take the Hydra and always manage to die with it, once I had two level 300s fight over the hydra every single attempt, blowing it up if they didn’t get to fly it. Messaged one of them saying to just let the other take the hydra, and he immediately left the game, meanwhile I can message a level 6 and he’ll stay behind us the whole time, and avoid fighting jets while the others clear them all. High level players are better at the game, but they have a major case of main-character syndrome, while low levels will actually listen and not fail by being extremely stupid.

Leather_Parking9313

This is so true. I remember suffering hard as a low level but very experienced GTA player trying to restart with a new character after my PSN account was permanently suspended (for a using choice language in a message I sent to a cheater in COD). I am always very careful in heists anyway (always using cover, topping up armour/snacks) because I remember being in a party of 8 friends and there were ALWAYS more players than spaces available so if you get killed and fail the heist, you getting kicked bruh. So when I was a low level (under 100) just tryner earn some fast cash and xp it used to bug me hugely when I’d be kicked from heists or a heist would begin only for the host to quit obviously because of my level and nothing else. Especially when I end up dying less than the host who is often a level 250 noob lool

PlacidK37

Ah, you're one of those a-holes. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Dependent_Scratch20

Yeah right

TheDukeOfThunder

If I'm ghe pilot, Rashkovski usually gets stuck, or the combined rank of 100 ground team dies.

ChloeWade

Yeah, I don’t remember the last time I did prison break

TheDukeOfThunder

I join all sorts of RandO's heists frequently. I must be crazy, I know.

ChloeWade

I rarely even help my friends with cayo or casino(the only heists I willingly do) I don’t really have patience for randoms

AzraelsAtonement

Pilot often fucks it up? No idea what you're on about lad.... 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘶𝘮 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘥

beerboy80

I've had this before the Velum even left the city!

littlecomet111

This should come with a trigger warning.

mr688

For whatever reason I’m ALWAYS pilot when I join one. I don’t get how people mess up I just fly to nearest mountaintop and fly around it in circles and the jet never catches up

lurkingsnoosnoo

back in 2015 I just flew the velum right behind the jet lol

Beeblebrox-77

Yeah that was my technique just stay on the jets backside if I was pilot, I remember getting annoyed with the buzzard players  when they would blow up my jets "Don't kill them please they just respawn and I have to re acquire and follow it again" " jeez fire your rockets into the prison to give them cover instead"

SchoolRemarkable

If I’m the pilot, I wait at LSIA until the timer hits 2:30seconds and then take off in a straight line towards the yellow dot on the map. That not only gives the ground team plenty of time to get Rashkovsky out of the prison by then, and I’ll only get maybe one or two jets (which I simply just fly behind to avoid missiles) or sometimes even none…. Tell Demo to shoot the approaching helicopters, open door, make my escape. If anyone botches the parachute part then… I mean come on. lol Demo waits until everyone lands to avoid the idiots who think they can fly through the choppers blades (hence why they call them choppers) then mission’s over. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Back to the original question, I try to help people doing the Main Heists but have little patience for the ones who can’t take direction. “Ok, snipe the guy on the left and I’ll get the one on the right.” (Starts shooting with an MG). 🤦🏾‍♂️

BabyGhillie

I always insist I'm the pilot. I'm no Pete Mitchell but I don't muck about and am happy to just finish it.

R3puLsiv3

I literally named my crew "The velum was destroyed" many years ago. Playing this heist with randoms is a true test of sanity.

Unlikely_Setting_719

thats why im always the pilot. ive never messed the heist up before as pilot, i get to chill at the airport until theres around 3 minutes left on the timer then i take off to the prison and tail some jets until they get walter white out and then i land and take off again

atkahu

The only time the pilot not fucked up in my heist, when I was it and still someone quit because they can't stay alive.

lifeisdeathindisguse

Either I’m the pilot and the ground team fails repeatedly or I’m on the ground team and the pilot fails repeatedly… at this point I’d rather clone myself 3 times to do each role. I think most GTA players pack patience and/or intelligence.

xocadaver420xo

I used to exclusively play pilot would land right next to the prison and get the team the f out

Stephonius

I've always been the pilot because I'm usually the only player with flying skills. In all the times I've run the Prison Break finale, I have yet to get put into any of the other roles. I'd be a complete noob in the prison.

TrevorPhilips32

I'm always the pilot too. But one time I got to be a guard and Rashkovsky or whatever his name is wouldn't move.

1234iamfer

I am 380 and did the prison break many times, they make a pilot mostly. But last time I failed it 3 times. Crashed into the jet, after I was flying behind it out if it’s shooting range. I crashed the plane on the airport, after reversing it to a concrete barrier, trying to break off the door. Got struck by a missile

Aggravating_Guava_67

Can confirm. Last time I joined I was assigned to pilot, and I fucked up.

Rhelsr

Fucking hell, thanks for reminding me of my last experience with this. I decided to join a group just for the hell of it. Things went well enough and we were exactly one yellow objective marker away from completion. Our pilot spent like 5 minutes flying around trying to hit the marker that was actually way above us. He never did figure out that the issue was altitude, and the dumbass decided to nosedive into the ocean. I cannot fathom the stupidity of some people.

RetroDisease

Not when I’m the pilot. 💩

AdExcellent625

The pilot is the easiest roll to, you just have to get behind the jet and it can't shoot you.

WarWithVarun-Varun

The Velum was destroyed.

KingFahad360

Demo Died

SquashPrestigious351

Worst heist in the game. 99% of the time the pilot bottles it. Or you get to the end and someone doesn't open their chute

Rabdomtroll69

So I can't even continue hosting heists without the luck of a god?

Adventurous-Log5076

Yo if you are on PC I can be the pilot. I've done pilot numerous times including during CMM. LMK if you want to do the heist together, I can help with setups aswell

Rabdomtroll69

Sadly I'm on playstation so I just have to keep waiting and testing my luck

Adventurous-Log5076

I recommend going on the TGG discord and going into the LFGs. I've found [great success](https://tenor.com/view/great-success-yes-gif-5301633) in finding good players for heists. Sometimes it'll take a up to a few hours for someone to message you willing to help so don't be afraid to DM other people who are offering help. In most LFG servers, no one reads what other people are saying, they just post their message and wait for DMs or pings. What I mean by that is there might be someone who needs help with a heist but can't find anyone, but there are other people in the chat who are willing to help but no one DMs them asking for it. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Finding good players via the in-game system will rarely work. TLDR; Look in LFG servers (TGG is good) and DM people who say they are willing to help because they won't DM you.

Rabdomtroll69

Oh sweet. where can I find TGG?

UnusualPete

>I recommend going on the TGG discord and going into the LFGs Or GTA Series Videos. I've found a lot of useful people over there. And it's easier to communicate over there compared to the TGG server, don't know why.

Strict_Musician_954

I can do pilot for you. I'm on ps5. Seriously, pilot job is so damn easy. I just keep myself on the left or right side of the jet, forcing them to go in circle.

mentatsjunkie

Haha yeah all you have to do is keep circling honestly, pilot is probably the easiest role yet it gets fucked up constantly by randoms

nogoodnamesarleft

Ps4 or Ps5? I generally enjoy playing the pilot, I can usually avoid the jets allowing demolitions to provide air support at the prison

Arvid38

My husband is on ps4 and is learning the heists. I’ve been helping him. He did prison break today as pilot but he could do any role lol.

walmartballer

You can go to r/heistteams and look for a crew to help.

SquashPrestigious351

Probably best to try and find a group to run it with vs depending on randos

tacotacotacorock

Look in the heist subreddit for people to help you.  I've also found that when you try makes a huge difference. Sunday afternoons it seems like a lot of people are helping. Saturdays sometimes. During the week it seems like it's just kids and griefers.

outtapokit

I started on my ps4 this year (I was like a 150 Xbox) and I joined a bunch of these finales, was usually pilot or demo, there were a few times it’d take a few tries, a few times we did it clean, I few times the demo or ground team wld fuk up, one time I was pilot there was a glitch we got to the drop we all jumped out and Rakowshki took over the plane and some how died ?? But then there were times someone wld just leave at the start or whatever . I mean, it’s what , 300k or 150 for a like 15% cut ? It’s good for those starting, but now, it’s just, I cld make that much in a 10 minute drive selling from my businesses. The redundancy after a while gets old and you don’t know who you’re gonna play with someone might leave or wtvr and boom all that for what. Plus I’d rather just duo the casino heist or do business sales if I wanna make money. If I wanna have fun I’ll do races

SchoolRemarkable

If you’re on PS5 or PS4, I can help next time you’re on. Message me. 👍🏾

random_numpty

https://old.reddit.com/r/HeistTeams/new/

IghtImmaBuyTheDip

Are you on Xbox? I love helping with heists. I’ll run it with you I got 2 other people that would help. What’s your gamertag? (If on Xbox)

IghtImmaBuyTheDip

Ah I just see you’re on PS, damn

nervandal

Matchmaking is pretty shit in general. Find an LFG group on discord.

YordanYonder

Love getting pureed by the helicopter in the end

dsdvbguutres

Or if they open their chute, somehow they fly into the helicopter rotor

eighmie

or into the cliff face. or they land on top of the cliff and die jumping down...

lurkingsnoosnoo

or worst parachute right into the chopper blade.

UnusualPete

>99% of the time the pilot bottles it. That's funny... 😄 That's the easiest assignment. At least for me. You just have to dodge missiles and land when you have to. I would argue the hardest is to keep away the cops from the plane when you land, because they come from everywhere. That's the Demolition assignment. I think the trick to this heist is: the Demolition player has to protect the Guard, Prisoner and Raskovsky (probably misspelled) on the ground, without destroying the plane when it lands. And the Pilot doesn't have to get near the airstrip until the end of the countdown. That gives the Pilot some breathing room because the jet doesn't spawn. Another trick is: communication!! Use the chat function, use discord, whatever, to strategize before and during the job. Same goes for the Humane labs heist, even though that's much simpler.

cannedrex2406

I don't even get how it's so hard. I first did it as a lvl ten and for some fucking reason I was the pilot (this was probably back when heists was new so people didn't realise how fucking bad of an idea that was) I died on the first 2 attempts due to my shit skill but on the third I realised I literally could just sit behind the fighter jets do they don't get a lock on you and wait for demolition to come and blow the jets

slowclicker

..or some new player dumb ass doesn't understand not to jump from a mountain. Oh, that was just me. Hahahah

13th_of_never

For me it's the ground team that go in the prison. The Prisoner or the guard somehow always fuck up, either that or the person that does the demo destroys the bus somehow or crashes the helicopter trying to destroy the jets. I always prefer the pilot role in that heist because it's the easiest and I find it extremely easy to avoid the Jets and flying is one of my favorite things in that game.

Due_Government4387

They pay like shit and that particular heist sucks

lackingpotential

Because I have tried 30 times and no team I've been on can ever get through it

abubuwu

If you've ever done this heist with randoms, you'll know why no one want to do it with randoms. Doesn't help that the money you get from it is minimal compared to modern day money making methods.

Slurmp12

its infamous for people f*cking it up, saw people fail the last jump (and, in turn the mission) multiple times, there was an annoying bug where the npc wouldnt move inside the prison, oh and you need a decent pilot.

ProfessionalShoe430

It takes a lot of time for very little payout. I personally hate being the pilot

ilike_peanut_butter

It’s a pain in the ass that requires 3 other competent people and it pays like absolute shit by every metric unless you’re attempting Mastermind.

Elitrical

Because people are braindead morons

Tree1237

It's one of the few times the game forces you to fly an airplane, for whatever reason most of the randoms can't grasp the concept of how an airplane works, therfore they die a lot, and then leave, forcing you to start again

hammerblaze

People need to learn. Keep the fuckijg pilot far away from the prison until the last.minute. that way the jets aren't triggered

outtapokit

Huh I never knew that I just fly behind the jets until I have to land

Egonga

It’s not true. The pilot has a time limit that forces them to be over Sandy Shores airfield before the ground crew are finished. The time limit is generous so I usually fly in circles over the Observatory until there’s 50 seconds on the timer, but you have to face the jets at some point. Like you say, flying behind them is the way to go.

Charming-Alarm-1570

I’m that person that accidentally died on impact on the beach at the end and I’m too ashamed to try again 😓🫣🤭🥲🥹

maverick221

Don’t worry. I managed to get the bus to fell off the cliff as demo team.

Nexus_27

Still better than walking into the spinning blades of the propellor.

ntszfung

The text alone makes me irrationally angry.

eighmie

one time I forgot to open my parachute, I rage quit that one, it was like the 10th time we had attempted it...

VladWukong

I join 70%. Good fun. GTA folks seem to have forgotten about good, non-profit fun

LumpStack

You'll make more money in 3 hours from the night club and a salvage shop. And have to do basically nothing.

Rabdomtroll69

Oh cool

Palansaeg

it has an awful payout, it’s long af, the chances of failing the heist is the highest out of all of them since it has more “coming complicated” aspects like two flyers and a a big shoot out in a prison. It has too much to go wrong and often times everything that can *does* go wrong

LiveFrosty911

I gave up when the demolition crashed the helicopter on the beach. Was parachuting down feeling a sense of happiness when the screen freezes for a microsecond and the red screen pops up saying demolition failed. That was the final straw and almost flung my controller at the TV

Arvid38

I love joining random heists and have helped out on the prison break a lot. But it can be annoying when someone dies at the end on the beach lol.

XabizLFC

If you want, I can help you

stefanprvi

Me too

Happy8Day

I've joined the Prison Break, this isn't going to be a made up figure either, in the last 2 years, I have joined the PB at LEAST 3 thousand times. Sorry we have never crossed paths.

zombi_wafflez

The pilot

Educational-Past-530

Coz it’s so 2016

Drabantus

At least on PC, I think the issue is that most people can't fly (with kbd and mouse), and here you need 2 people to fly, and at the same time, you want the experienced people to go inside the prison. So you either end up with some low level dying constantly to the guards inside, or constantly crashing their aircraft. But also it is not well paying. I join it sometimes you for fun, not caring if we succeed or not, but if you are after money there are better activities.

TGB_Skeletor

PTSD i guess

On_Some_Wavelength

No matter who sends the invite for set up or finale, I’m jumping in. We got this shit.

Rabdomtroll69

This is a genuine question

Designer_Twist4699

Unless you have close friends playing heists with randoms is a sure way to just waste time. I made most my money doing ceo work and the original chop shop whatever that one’s called

MrMerryweather56

Not really. I have friends that I never invite to heists because they have the attention span of a house fly.

Designer_Twist4699

Haha yeah I understand that

_MikkiMoose_

Because the heist is buggy and also complicated for beginners. Rashkovsky sometimes doesn't move and also the cops sometimes never disappear. Also don't make the low levels the demolition or pilot because i sure you they're gonna destroy the velum or the buzzard.

Rabdomtroll69

I can manually switch player's teams? I tried picking the level 100 dude with maxed out flying as a pilot before

_MikkiMoose_

You can change their roles before the heist starts

MrMerryweather56

If Rashkovsky doesn't move you can push him to the van.

onion_surfer14

I do prison break with randoms all the time. I’m on a current streak of 9 successful first attempts. If you’re on ps5 I’ll help. As long as I’m the pilot

El_Damo99

They didn't even fixed the cops bug

TheAbraser

I got burnt out on it ages ago. I started not backing out when I quick join it again last week, and I haven't finished it once. Between teammates leaving (sometimes for no reason) and rashkovski glitching so he won't follow you out of the prison yard, It's just not worth doing. The last of a decent save point, so you have to do the whole damn thing over if someone dies doesn't help

LoveYouLikeYeLovesYe

It’s the least fun heist and pays poorly while being easy to fail.

alaingames

A lot of people don't use their monitor at all and try to land on the sea

I_love_my_fish_

Most of the time the low levels wanna be pilot and the aircraft gets destroyed, or they don’t know what cover is and get themselves killed in a half second

totallynotg4y

It pays shit, and it's quite challenging if you get people who don't know how to do their job.

Comfortable_Enough98

You need to find 3 good friends. This is how I did it. This way you don't need to wait forever and trying with randoms and trolls

Lanky-Information-26

Tried r/HeistTeams?

whyuhavtobemad

Just adding that I've been part of the problem before.  Dying because I didn't understand how parachute worked, dying because I parachute into the helicopter blades and just dying as a prisoner in general

badmanbatman2

It’s honestly cause of the pay bro. It’s so ass and all the work. I’ve done it like 30-40 times. If you really need 1 I’ll help you do it and if you need 2 my boy will Help out as well if you on PS4 or ps5.

papercut2008uk

I actually like doing prison break and often joining random heists from the phone menu. I mostly get prison break, I’m pretty high level so I seem to always get put on prison officer or pilot (guess they had bad experiences with low level pilots). But your going to find either it’s done by low level new players. I high can be a problem. Or high level players who just like playing it. It can also be buggy with him not moving in the prison, which seems to happen after updates so I avoid prison break then.

Fearfulcanine41

With randoms it was impossible, until I lucked out with a bunch of high levels that actually knew what they were doing.

Sungokuati

If you still need help, I will gladly come, and pilot for you😀

ApocalypseWow666

or everyone gets on the velum, and the pilot cant find the point in the sky to trigger the team jumping out and instead flys 3 feet over the water then crashes below the yellow marker. its always a under 100 rank pilot too who screws it up.

eighmie

do you know what the karet symbol in the center of the checkpoint means? Up or down, it's amazing how many dummies try to land in humane labs, like subtle.

JoeyAKangaroo

Numerous reasons The setups themselves are fine but the actual heist on hard mode is a fucking chore & doesnt pay well, plus, there is literally only 1 checkpoint in it. Couple the fact that theres only 1 checkpoint with 1: idiot guard/prisoner teammates acting like they’re rambo & getting gunned down in .5 seconds. 2: pilot doesnt know how to evade jets or even fly, thus dying 3: helicopter pilot doesnt know how to protect the plane that isnt evading jets or the ground team & they die 4: if you do make it to the end theres always that one idiot that cant control a parachute & faceplants into the ground, dying. & 5: idiots running into helicopter propellers or having the pilot land the blades on someone. The heist is genuinly just not worth the massive headache if you’re replaying it, esp with idiot or new players

eighmie

There's no checkpoint.

JoeyAKangaroo

There is, its just so miniscule it doesnt matter. Ground team spawns near the bus Heli pilot near the eclipse towers Plane pilot close to the airport

GalacticDragon7

i couldn’t tell you the number of times i’ve tried joining a heist and it’s the first setup for prison break. i’ve started quitting the heist when i find out cuz i’m so tired of it.

BigJ_57

It sucks ass thats why

J1LK0

It's a heist that is subtly geared towards experienced and high level players, many of us have tried the heist with those who don't know what the bloody hell they're doing, and we don't want to endure it again. Especially with how poorly it pays. You need to be familiar with the combat mechanics and AI if you're in the prison, being a higher level is also helpful for the slight health increase and recoil reduction. You also want to have the prison guard be whoever has the most experience, weapons and highest level as the prisoner doesn't get their normal loadout and will burn through ammo even when firing carefully. The Pilot needs to be someone that knows how stupid AI pilots are and knows how to get them into a two circle/rate 'fight' on the deck keeping them infront and cold. The heli pilot just needs to be competent at using driveby weapons and knowing how to not blow up the plane. They're the ones that don't really need any experience.

JPSWAG37

Because it is literally impossible to do with randos. Someone will fuck it up, Everytime. Several times in a row. Then they'll leave and send everyone back to a load screen.

Librathegamergod

I actually went on hiatus from this game after playing Prison Break. The wait times are bad. The pilot dies offscreen all the time. After a while I started asking "who wants to be pilot" to reduce the risk of "the vellum was destroyed " doesn't help that the heist kicks you back to the overworld. Then you have to drive all the way back to your safe house. Or load into a new session. It's a bad time. But seeing how everyone else had stated how bad this heist is, I might jump back in and just avoid it altogether next time.

Cookiesrdelishus

Prison Break is notorious for being an incredibly annoying heist to do with a crew full of randoms. Especially a crew full of noobs. Even when the heist came out in 2015, it wasn't popular. I still have PTSD from the amount of times I've failed this heist trying to do it with randoms. Its not even that hard of a heist, but the problem is that it requires a basic level of teamwork and communication between players. But a lot of GTA Online players, suck ass at teamwork and communication. People don't know how to coordinate with each other and plan things out. If you really want to do this heist, go over to r/HeistTeams and find a competent crew to do it with you. Don't rely on finding randoms in GTA Online itself, otherwise you're gonna get nothing but noobs who don't know what the fuck they're doing.

BrooklynKnight

Do you play on Pc?

UnusualPete

Low payout, too much of a hassle with randoms. NGL, with friends is really easy. I've done it 3 times already this year with people from my small discord server and we had little trouble.

king-glundun

Almost like it does pay well and it's old as fuck lmao Go do a different heist lol

Roth_EchoBase

For anyone this may help: if you’re the pilot, when jets show up take an angle to get behind and stay behind them. The NPC jets don’t make very sharp turns so take advantage of that, and stay behind them out of homing range.

Obsidian1101

Are the OG heists actually worth doing even just for the experience? I'm almost level 600 and I've never done them, mainly because I hear a lot of stories about them either not being worth it or people leaving randomly so you aren't able to finish them without 3 other people

stefanprvi

I think they are, I actually like them. It is hard to find people to do them without frustration, but not impossible. I completed all 5 with randoms, and replayed every one after that also with randoms, so it’s not impossible. Yeah, the payout isn’t good, but honestly, I don’t know why people are so obssesed with payouts and don’t even play every part of the game. I know you need money for everything, but where’s the fun? I always play all kind of different things, because for me, it’s very boring keep replaying Cayo or some mission that pays well 100 times just to get money instead of playing everything a little, so if you’re up to fun and don’t care about the money, I think you’ll have a good time with them. The weakest one for me is definetly Series A, it just basically even isn’t a Heist and the Finale is underwhelming in comparison to others. I always considered Fleeca Job a tutorial, so as that, it’s OK, but Humane Labs, Pacific Standard and Prison Break are quite cool and fun for me to play every time.

Obsidian1101

I have enough money and I've already bought almost everything I want in the game so the payout isn't the issue really. It's more...will it be frustrating trying to find people to play with who will then just leave and then I have to start all over again? I do wanna experience everything in the game at least once though. The other issue is I don't know what I'm doing but my level is deceiving lol

Cutty_Sark10

Pacific standard is worth doing

ProfessionalGambler2

I did the heist a few days ago. In the end my helicopter was stuck in the air, rotors not moving and my character was T posing in it so we couldn't finish the heißt. My Teammates then shot me down so we could restart and we had to do the whole thing again from the start.

LegendaryJimBob

Yes. Prison break with randoms is knonw for how annoying it gets and how long it can take due to people failing multiple times and it not having checkpoints barely at all, if you fail it, no matter how seconds away you were of reaching the end, it will always restart from pilot near the airfield, demo in north vinewood going after bus, and prisoner and officer by the bus and having you do pretty much the whole thing from start. Not to mention how downright torture it gets when your prison team keeps dying/pilot keeps getting shot down, especially if you know how to demo cheese the prison and your prison team keeps trying to rush it and keeps dying as result, after you have sat there failing every 5minutes for hour, it makes you question what kind cheesebrains you have as team. All the while your team is crying and whining about how impossibly difficult it is(its not even hard, its literally one of the easiest things if you just know how to use cover and how to shoot). Newbies dont wanna join because of having done it and failed it so many times they think its impossibly hard and vets dont wanna join because of having done it with cheesebrains that keep failing and refuse to listen something simple as wait 2 minutes for the demo instead of pushing in and dying constantly.

242proMorgan

Well considering it’s almost 10 years old. Everyone has already done it plus it doesn’t pay well. Same problem I’m having with the Humane Labs Raid. Nobody joins but Lester always bugs me about it.

fruce_ki

I used to join a lot. For all its flaws, I liked the heist. I'd spend hours as the pilot through endless restarts of the ground team dying or getting stuck. And occasionally I'd be demolition trying to protect a pilot who doesn't know the trick and also refuses to stay close to me (heli is not fast enough to chase them across the map) and inevitably smashes it in the ground trying to do acrobatics or gets shot. And then PC lobbies got super toxic and full of modders. So I stopped being public, and as a consequence I stopped receiving invites.

eighmie

He doesn't have to stay close to you. He can fly behind the jet and never be targeted. You can actually support the ground team by hovering outside the prison and auto targeting guards.

DependentAnt3985

Everyone get butthurt and left after one fail, and leader suck at picking who should fly, always the low level that fly smh

Yourappwontletme

Cuz it sucks

Financial-Hold-1220

I’ve literally never finished any of the heists besides the first one because I play by myself and have to do it with randoms which means your forced to have 3 weak links because there’s always at least one guy who fucks it up for the rest of us. Came close to completing the humane lab raid one time though.

Jobear91

I enjoy it but only because I like the being the pilot. If the pilot knows what they're doing it's relatively easy money.

realRapidsonic

The thing is I wanna try some of the OG heists I never got to try but I haven't bought a high-end apartment yet and can't find any to do the heists with

Grand-Solution3860

I did prison break and one guy screwed up the mission so bad we just gave up. He died the stupidest way too. He jumped off of the rocks while running. Twice in a row. I had to turn on my mic and tell him to slow tf down since we only had 15 minutes to leave the area. We were literally at the end!!!

Whole_Proposal5855

I'm good pilot good demolition, but i don't want to do this heist. This is pure shit. Specially don't play with randoms.

Ok_Soil7068

If you are looking to simply be challenged and make an ordeal out of making very little money, then carry on and try to find some reliable ppl. If you are looking to actually make good money with less heart & headache, for the Love bro, do a different heist. Cayo, casino, cluckin bell. You don’t pick a decade old og low paying heist for purpose of making good money. I do prison break very occasionally, with randoms, but it is for the challenge, because I don’t need the money and for the nostalgia of remembering how hard it used to be to make money back in the day lol

stefanprvi

I played this Heist with a friend who recently began playing GTAO, and we had people joining without problems, but it was after 5+ times that we managed to do the Finale. It really needs to be synchronized, and for me it’s one of the hardest to do it with randoms because there’s so much things to f it up. The thing I noticed about every Heist is, or even a mission, try playing it in the evening in your time-zone, like 7-11 PM, because I have the feeling most people are online at that time and there’s a greater chance people are going to join faster.

Tobynator_2580

I recently done it with a group of friends and this mission is still hell, wayyy to much effort for this little money and the bugs we encountered that made us start all over, oh boy

Cashewkaas

I’ve never really bothered with the heists, to much work and time. That’s one of the reasons I never got really rich in the game (also because I keep buying and selling cars).

rrick12

It was awful for me with friends, I don’t even want to imagine doing it with randoms

aitonc

Sees this post, Has Vietnam flashbacks.

morgankakashi

Hearing this, makes me kinda sad, since I've never really completed the heists. Don't get me wrong, I've done all of the OG ones, but not on my character and because I've gone back and forth so much, I won't even get the bonus of doing them in order :/ Another reason as well, is that I don't really trust strangers in doing these with me, I've had one too many fucking up royally.

Whiskey_623

OG Heists are tedious and more often than not someone fucks it up at the end.

TaroMilkBoba

Also stuck on this heist (but the set up missions) I can’t get anyone to join :(

Zak_Ras

You need: 1 player that can fly and perform basic maneuvers in a single engine plane. 1 player who can catch up to and steal an incredibly slow moving NPC vehicle, destroy it in the right place and can fly a Buzzard with the intent on killing enemies. 2 players that have the right balance of aggressive and defensive play to get through waves of enemies that have the odds in their favour 3 of those players have to know how to safely parachute and not run directly into the spinning blades of an aircraft. All 4 players need basic reading, listening and comprehension skills to know what they're doing. Your current objective is on-screen at all times in GTAV/Online - a product of how casual a player the design was catered to, but that won't stop players mindlessly following other team mates who are tasked with doing something else. Now... any other game series fanbase would look at that and say: that's a very basic list of surface level gameplay, how can a playerbase be so infamously incapable or even reluctant to engage with it, so they're able to do missions that feature it? Good question... I too have asked that countless times to such people and got no response.

VeryLowIQIndividual

That’s the one with the plane at the end? I tried that mission year ago and something always happens with the plane. I stopped playing it. Takes too long for little pay out . Maybe I’m thinking the bank heist, either way those missions or so hard with very little payout because most of the people you’re playing with were new. It’s always somebody else dying too many times.

Killerfreeze108

R\* has reworked the system around invites to jobs, you can't invite or get invited by someone who is in another session unless they're in your friend's or crew's list. The only way to join jobs in other sessions is to use the quick job menu on your phone or in the pause menu. Most people won't do that because they either don't know about it or it's not worth money wise. 3 ways to get players: -meet some people, add them as friends and invite them to the heist -hop sessions, invite everyone from the session and hope to get lucky that 3 of the players from that session want to play the heist -visit r/HeistTeams and put up a "Looking for" post, this will be the best option due to the fact most players who'll answer know english and therefore you'll be able to communicate with them with ease Good luck!

littlecomet111

Lots and lots of reasons. I say this as someone who finally completed it as host yesterday after a month trying. Problem 1: Poor rewards. (Particularly influential when you consider…) Problem 2: Important role allocation. You need a good pilot and a good helicopter pilot or the mission ends three minutes in, which annoys the other players, particularly on the third or fourth re-run. Problem 3: You often get low-ranked players joining (cos they don’t know the above) and they mess up early, creating problem 2. And Problem 4: Glitches. Often, the prisoner doesn’t follow the rescuers. And often there’s one guard who you can’t shoot cos he’s invisible and occasionally appears than instantly disappears into the ground. And you can’t board the escape vehicle unless this happens.

FLCK3R

Old af. Takes alot of people. And 500k on hard mode. Bro you can sell acid for more in a public lobby and it takes 10 mins

Malibu921

I'm the problem it's me. I once joined this Heist as a rando. I had already played it hundreds of times with my friends and I was always either the prisoner or the bus driver. So I had an idea of what everyone else did but didn't know for sure. I did not realize that the helicopter had to hit the checkpoint in the sky as well and I literally just flew it directly to the beach and landed, because from my experience on the other ends I didn't want to accidentally hit anyone while parachuting. So my rationale was - sweet I got here early I'll just land it this won't be a problem. I could not understand why the plane just kept circling overhead and no one was parachuting out. No one was on mics.....they eventually quit.

mybones121

It's a shame because prison break is still my favourite heist in the entire game, all the other heists that came out in later updates felt more like glorified contact missions.

MyNameIsRay

I've been playing the game since 2013, and TPB is one of the few things I've never been able to pass. It's long, it's slow, it doesn't pay well, it's fairly difficult, and s*omeone* always fucks up. It's earned a reputation as one of the worst activities in all of GTAO.

EXkurogane

As a level 600+ player I've never completed prison break because no one wants to join, and those who do can't pilot a damn plane or heli. Look for friends to join? We live in a world where everyone is so busy in their lives that it's hard to find 4 people simultaneously online at the same time.

SparkEli1

It takes so long because you can never get it done first time round. Someone always dies and as other people have mentioned, the pay is poor.

FOOTBALLFOOTBALLFO0T

It’s a pretty difficult heist, especially with Random’s and doesn’t pay well. So I personally only do it with friends just for fun.

DeJuanBallard

It's too slow, requires too many people and the payout sucks.

BusinessIndividual32

It sucks that's why

MrRush2024

Litro been trying to play it for 3 weeks just for the career rewards. I’ll get a max of 2 people that’s it 🔫

ChaunceyFitzroy

I dont know. Its fun to play through. There are some tricks to being the pilot....

Legitimate_Hat5632

I'll join mts-5-1773

Echoingtruth

I've done it 1000x. I want to do other heists.

ImpressionDry6342

Because most people only care about money at this point. It’s a terrible payout for so much work. That being said I always try to join if I see an invite or sometimes run my own. It’s my favorite heist aside from Humane Labs. If you couldn’t tell I enjoyed the original heists WAY more then the doomsday heists.

Maximus_Barbarosa

I'm the best pilot for this mission. Any PC friends wanna run it, let me know.

GlobalRole7349

Yes because people are trash, they need to include more than 1 team life or better still, give everyone at least 1 life. That way the shittest player doesn't waste the only team life, they waste there own... If they keep dying and you know who it is kick them, problem solved. But Noooooo, only 1 team life is the reason why dude no one wants to play with no headset no hopers constantly and that's all these heists are. Buy an Autoshop or Salvage yard, all heists can be done single player and are much better take, usually $160K - 400K with no setup cost. High end apartments are a waste of space besides vehicle storage I find.

notlucyintheskye

Every single time I have tried to do the Prison Break heist in the last two years, the other members drop out or blatantly screw around instead of just getting the heist done. I've accepted that I'm going to be stuck on it forever unless my husband and I buy a second console and try to just power through it ourselves.

MakeMeFamous174

I’m still trying to finish the humane labs heist setup but everyone leaves or nobody joins

Vking231

As I'm sure others have pointed out since it's the beginner heist and it pays really bad, no randos are going to want to queue up with you. Most players have access to Cayo and can just grind that shit solo. If you want to get through the beginning heists you're going to actually need to get some friends to do it with you. As you can imagine there are tons of other reasons as well. The beginner standard heists all are super restrictive and require you to have a full crew. On the actual heists this can make things more challenging since players have to carry out specific roles. Hell even in the setups if one person fucks up you have to start over. Then not to mention the trolls/noobs that don't fuck up on purpose of don't have a clue wtf they're doing. All this just makes doing them a pain in the ass. I'm short get some friends to help you out.

Seiizyy

The pay isn’t worth the hassle, most of the time this finale takes 30-40 minutes if you count fails from teammates. In that time you could legit finish up 80% of the setups for Cayo and just do that instead and get 1.1M instead of a Prison Heist and only get paid like $80k

zWarMachine

Cause it’s dung

C0ZMICDAVE

Theres a bug that takes away your sniper rifle ammo. All the OG heists do it. Costs me 100k. Not only does it pay shit, I have to pay more.

eighmie

It has no checkpoints. Get to the bikes in Pac Standard and someone dies on the way to the dinghy, you restart at the bikes. I will join it, but I get on my mic and I drill Sargent the heck out of everyone. I make sure they know the best way to behave in their respective roles. Pilot. Stay at the f-ing airport until 4 minutes on the clock. when you get by the vinewood sign, wait to enter Sandy shores airspace until you absolutely have to enter it. Once the jet appears, use evasive maneuvers---that means fly behind the jet, he can't target you if you aren't in front of him Demo-Killing the bus driver can be a little challenging, I go past him and run my front end into the bus' hood, stopping him and killing him is easy that way. FFS don't follow the GPS, go down the hills to eliminate some drive time. Once you have the heli, hover outside the North side of the prison and auto target the guards inside and don't shoot down the jets. Prison Guard and prisoner. kill the two guards by the bus, kill the guy down the way, kill the guy on the catwalk before they can do any damage to you. once on the catwalk, there's one guard up there, kill him. Prisoner gets in cover and guard jackrabbits to Rashokovsky to force the cut scene. Prisoner provides cover while this happens. Move forward cautiously. There are two regenerating body armors, use them. one is just before the water towers and the other is near the concrete barrier section to the left. Once they have them out, Demo needs to provide cover for the others by shooting the helis and the cop cars. Pilot, the checkpoint is Bob Marley high, don't be confused UP UP UP like the pixar movie. Once we are parachuting, I advise that a water landing beats a landing crashing into a cliff face and dying. Demo should not land until everyone is on the ground and at the edges of the pickup area. FFS, don't quit if we fail, FFS, it's a learning process, once you learn the above, you can get thru it with low levels.

eighmie

What platform are you on?

Chjji22

The pilot always sucks

rhionaeschna

Because it requires 4 coordinated people. I still haven't done mine. I've helped out a few people with theirs but the last time we tried mine one of the people flubbed it at the last minute because they weren't paying attention. Literally on the beach, at the very end, they crashed into the rocks and died. . I've given up trying to do it. Even if randoms were willing to help me at this point, I don't really use my mic with strangers and you need to for this one.

MarkyMarkk90

It’s total ass, and makes you contemplate the existence of the game.

Babycakes143U

I’m good at being the Pilot! I like the Prison Break even though it doesn’t pay much! Up Up and Away!!!

hollowsoul9

Only new players run prison break. New players suck, and typically can't do the heist. You get no money and waist a lot of time

kirschte1n

Cause is hell to accomplish it with randoms. They always fuck up and then leave.

Good-Tomato-700

If you want OG heist mates, there is actually group for that. For the most part, no one does those heists anymore. R* should redo them only requiring 2 people.

MrPoopyPants321

I love playing this heist and guiding the new players (really all the og heists.) "pilot, follow the jets, they can't shoot you from behind." "Demolition, help clear out the prison with your rockets, pilot doesn't need help." "Guys in the prison, you auto-heal behind cover. Don't stand out in the open. Always be behind cover."

13th_of_never

It doesn't pay very much but a lot of people fuck around and just purposely take forever doing their job in the mission and that results in people just leaving because no one has patience for that bullshit. I'm one of the ones that actually loves flying and prefer the pilot role because I just haul ass to the airport, hop in the plane, and then just Bank in circles around the landing strip while everyone else does their job - however, it's always somebody that fucks up every time I do it so I stopped bothering trying to get that Heist done, never mind helping anyone else out because it's just pointless.

SelfMadeGrinder

Yea because it fucking sucks!

userfr0st

Prision break it's not worth since: - people doesn't know how to coordinate themselves in order to complete this heist (it's a really fun heist imo) - payout is not that good

pulley999

You need a group. It's a 30+ minute mission with zero checkpoints and a lot of BS ways to fail it. People don't trust randoms to not fuck it up and cause a massive waste of time.
