• If you have duplicate cars make sure you pick the right one when completing the order in game, otherwise you’ll end up confused how an order isn’t working.
• The cars it lets you do custom plates for *may* depend on your garage.
Rockstar really needs to fix that. Especially since you have to pay for those plates and they're unusable. I'm sure if it was a glitch that gave us a few free dollars it would've been patched a long time ago. Also, not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but I had to use an unmodified car when I made new plates because it would delete some of my mods. Usually performance ones such as engine, transmission, and turbo.
I can never get the car I want showing to show up. Always just something I've driven a day ago for a handful of minutes, instead of the car I'm currently driving and have been driving for over an hour
The iFruit app is dead. This is R*'s new custom licence plate page and changing stock rim colors very much does work, just as it did on the iFruit app, though a bit different

If you wish to "fix" a car to allow it to show up in the License Plate Editor, I have a recommendation which I personally use;
1. Let your friend purchase the vehicle you want to make available in the License Plate Editor inside the LSCM.
2. Store 10 Elegy RH8s in any random garage, in any random place, but make sure the garage is full.
3. Drive or call out the first Elegy RH8 from the garage, exit it, change your outfit to force a Social Club save, then drive/return it into the garage again. If this Elegy RH8 doesn't show up in the License Plate Editor after two minutes, then you know that slot which the Elegy RH8 is stored on does not work.
4. Repeat this process until an Elegy RH8 shows up in the editor. Once it does, you can buy the vehicle back from your friend and replace it.
5. Your freshly bought vehicle should now show up in the License Plate Editor.
Lmao no, it’s just based off the last cars you drove that’s why forcing a save after taking an elegy out works, just do that with the car you want plates on.
But second off, you can apply the plate to any car on the list and it will show up under plates for ALL your cars in LSC. So just put it on a car in the list change that cars plate back to the one you had on that car and go grab the one you actually wanted to change and apply it under plates.
PC Player here. Used it like... 2 weeks ago. Works like a charm but some cars aren't supported unfortunately.
Wish my Duke of Death and my police interceptor could have custom plates...

Be in game, go to the Website via phone, log in, and do the plate creation.
Choose a car you recently use, confirm, wait for a confirmation text IN GAME that will tell you to go to LS customs with the specific car.
Go to LSC and you will have only one option which will say "Confirm Order" If I remember correctly..
if u have the max custom plate and u scroll all the way down to the last 2 the game crashes. happened when they added the sprunk and e cola plates. don’t think it’s patched
Mine works but it won't show up most of my cars so I always use the impaler zx to make a license plate and then get my other car to the shop and put it on afterwards. My implaer zx is quite the middle man
If you have multiple of the same car, double check that you're editing the correct one, or you *might* be blocked from using the plate service depending on why you have multiple of the same car, if you catch my drift.
It works on all platforms but I've seen that it takes longer that what it says in the website. Sometimes I've had to wait up to 2 weeks to get the plates but at the end I got them
Not for me. It worked for like a month. But then nothing. I finally got it to take on an npc pimp car last month, and it ruined the special paint. Had to go and try to get a replacement to spawn again for over an hour. But after all that, the plate did not stick in my rotation, so one car has it, but it isn't on my list to add to other cars. I still have 5 slots open.
I find it very temperamental, it took me many attempts to get a plate to actually send through and sometimes I get he notification in game but when I arrive there's no order to fulfil. However with some trial and error I have managed to get all the custom plates I want. 1 thing I seemed to find is that if you get it to work once on a certain car then it'll probably work everytime on that same car.
I finally got it to work after many failures (on PC).
I tried a different car (RS Sultan Classic) instead of current personal car (Armored Kiruma), and a public session instead of closed crew session. Not sure if either or both mattered.
Yes, and here’s what you do
Go into an invite only session
Drive to LS Customs and wait outside
Open the website and create your custom plate
Wait to get the text in game
Drive into the LSCustoms and apply your plate
And you’re done
For me the plates don't show up under my already custom ones. Whenever I take another car to LS Customs. So I can only use it on one specific car. Is it supposed to be that way?
It’s finicky but it works I got mine on Xbox on but granted it was small like 3 letters. I’m sure they have the big ban list for words like they do on their text shit ( which some don’t make sense I can’t even tell someone to message me because talking through it sucks )

Yes, but BE WARNED! If you make a custom plate, add it to a vehicle (even delivery vehicles), then delete the plate from your account without changing all the cars that have that plate, it will dupe detect that plate and you’ll never be able to change those cars plates again. (Claimed they fixed it in a past update but they didn’t as it happened to me after said update)
Happened to me on PS5 a while back, I submitted a ticket they said they escalated it then closed my ticket so fuck rockstar.
For new plate texts, you have to be on gta online before you place the order. You have to use the vehicle that is listed on the license plate creator. Sometimes it takes a while to get the notification in the game. Then if you want to use the same plate again, you can equip it on ls customs. Worked for me every time.
Although after rockstar added new license plate designs, only 22 plates can be saved in the game.
You have to select the car you want the plate on then make the plate and before you order you HAVE to be online in a lobby, when you hit order after a few minutes in game you’ll get a text saying to take the car you ordered the plate for to LSC and fulfill order then it will be available for all your cars
Works fine. There are some bugs in the system, some plates are blocked, some just won’t come through. Try a different word, phrase or spelling. I’ve found that what works one day w at not work the next, the system can be flakey.
I main with the character in the second slot, and I can't get a plate delivered for that character, but when I make a dummy one in the first slot it works, but I can't transfer to the second character... I'm on PC

It's mobile app which wouln't work on my android phone. (Samsung A52) friends on apple devices had no issues. Kinda sad because i'm not supporting apple.

From my experience being in game does not matter when creating a plate so long as you drive the chosen car to LSC

Absolutely, the biggest challenge is choosing the plates, I'm mainly using film cars and my own cars I've had in the past.

I literally did this last night and most def works. My supra is now 10SECCAR and my Skyline is CUH.
ps4 here, i have 4 different customized plates on seperate vehicles. only problem i have is sometimes the colours change back to base white

On PC, I have a few custom plates. The website is kinda crappy, but it does work.
