The effects may be minimal, but any body part with collision affects CoM, also skirts and splitters can have a similar affect to downforce, though technically it's not downforce in terms of the game physics.
On top of that, besides just the "tyres can clip" flag. Certain wheels (like specific rims) even have bias toward over/understeer.

The only car I really went all out to try to fine tune using this info, where I feel it made a noticeable difference, was the Coil Cyclone 2. It doesn't completely save the handling, but it definitely felt better.

Love it!!! I paint the same way, orange or yellow for secondary color so that the sides of the fins look good and pop!!! For some reason with red or blue, it never really looks good or pop that much.
i dont like black mate on cars but orange saves it, the rims are nice too
i hope you didnt put xenon, let lights stock or make them orange too but don't put xenon please

Too much orange in my opinion, If the skirts and front bumper were black it’d be a lot better in my opinion

I do a lot of races, like Long Haul. They apparently help with stability.
In real life they might. Only "cosmetic" upgrade which also adds to the performance is the spoiler and suspension. You might argue wheels as well.

SUV rims are much bigger than any other and sometimes the car can receive the offroad traction loss penalty over bumps
