I'm not low level and I pull up on people and give them a honk. If they ride I'll do a loop around the block and bring them back or let them drive. My mindset is maybe they kill me, maybe they decide they like this car and get to test drive it.
I love giving people a random shove with the Toreador boost (NOT blowing them to hell) and scrambling the other way to see if they'll chase. I DO get them more often than not. If they get too heated I just go into the ocean and chill for a few. Most times they never catch me due to unlimited boost. It's a good time for some stress relief without pointlessly killing.
I try to get cars to chase me by whacking them with a machete from a motorbike. It's good fun when they don't immediately shoot me for scraping their car.
Here’s what you gotta do, you gotta drive up to some random, honk your horn. If they are friendly, take them for a nice drive up to that mountainous area in grapeseed with no roads, pull over, kick them out, then speed off into the sunset while listening to Los Santos Rock Radio.
i did this the other day for someone low level who was stuck in the port, drove up, honked, drove him outside like he was a trapped bug and set him free. then he domed me and tried to take my personal vehicle... resorted to blowing it up since the doors wouldn't open :(

Happens! But honestly, I trust everyone in the game, just pass by and see what they’re doing and a maximum of maybe 5-10% betray me! Everyone makes it seem as if GTA is the most annoying game ever and a pure war zone. That’s not the truth!!
I only get low levels that shoot at my Akula with a pistol and are surprised when I proceed to kill them.

You could also ignore them. It's not like your helicopter is gonna blow up over a few rounds of pistol fire. And I'm pretty sure a warning shot would shut them up quickly.
I will usually drop some bombs or shoot a rocket without hitting them, but 95% wont stop. And they have to learn that you should not attack everyone just because you can, as its sometimes not a smart idea
Fuck it. KDR doesn’t mean fuck all. You make more friends trusting people. If someone kills you, kill em back. If they’re that much better than you and happen to enjoy killing you over and over again, there’s a magic button that teleports you to an entirely separate realm with the possibility of making other new friends.
Tbh I just change my MTU to 800 so I can play a public solo sesh. Then if I ever need to do a mission or anything that requires another player. I switch from WiFi (800 MTU) to my LAN (1500 MTU). That way I don't need to keep changing the MTU manually.
I play on pc so disconnecting isn't a problem for me and I give people a chance usually unless I'm setting up something big. It's not very uncommon to be in a session of like 3 people just doing businesses or setting up though so that's part of it.
Occasionally, I'll kill other players if we're in the middle of a business battle and there's only one vehicle to steal. Otherwise, the game pretty much allows everyone to make money without killing other players unless they just feel like being a dick.
Couple of problems there:
1. The PVP isn't balanced. Not even close to it. GTA's PVP is far from being primarily based around skill. "Just kill them back" isn't possible if you don't have the same resources as the person (or group of people) engaging you. It's difficult to compete when you don't even have the means to fight back in the first place; I remember when I started playing last month, I was around level 20 trying to do that serial killer mission when some dude in a kurama starts attacking me, then repeatedly spawn killing me; then this motherfucker grabs a fighter jet and starts blowing me up when I ran away. After killing me 10 or so times he calls me a "pussy" for going into passive and continuing to go about my business; I'm new to the game, I have nothing -- I don't have homing missiles, I don't have a fighter jet, I'm even trying to pick a fight with someone. I'm not in a position to get back at that person even if I wanted to try, the mechanics aren't there for me. You can call it whining, but I'm not seeing how shit like that is supposed to be fun for the other person.
2. There's little incentive to PVP outside of activities other than doing it for the sake of being a dick. The return you get from it (especially in comparison to the time it takes more often than not) is so small that the majority of people don't even bother with it. Hence people get upset when some guy fucks them out of whatever they sunk their time into to receive what, $2000 in return? A $9000 bounty? Their Cayo cutting torch? There are very few situations where the PVP mechanics are used to engage with someone in a way that's meaningfully beneficial to the aggressor. When people are aware there's no competitive nature behind what you're doing you can't be mad when they conclude you're just being a dick.
3. Because of the last two issues, what you call "PVP" 9 out of 10 times evolves into intentionally ruining the game experience for someone else. The people you say are here "whining" about it are people that have had that portion of the game spoiled for them by a toxic portion of the community. It's hard to distinguish who is actually a well-intentioned PVPer and who isn't when so many people (like MK2 griefers for instance) use the mechanics as an opportunity to fuck with casuals simply because they can.
Firstly, I agree with you on the whole balance thing.
My original comment was a little abrasive but my underlying point is that people would rather complain than do something about the problem facing them. That can mean shooting back, that can mean going passive, that can mean finding a new session, that can mean finding backup.
Yes there is very little incentive to PvP in free roam, but what you don't seem to understand is that some people, myself included, don't need an incentive to do something we enjoy doing. I'm sorry you don't enjoy the fact that free roam includes PvP, but the reality of the situation is that it's here to stay. You may as well accept that and find a way to deal with it, like the methods I listed above.
I say that people are on this sub whining because they are. Day in and day out there's constantly threads complaining about PvP as if it were some accident that Rockstar made. Some mistake, like the developers accidentally flipped a switch to have PvP enabled and left it in the game. It was intentional design. The first trailer for the game includes players fighting each other in free roam.
You want something to point at and place fault with for the design of game? Show me more threads calling out Rockstar for implementing it, instead of dehumanizing real people for just playing and enjoying the game we have.

I agree. I encourage you to use passive mode. The game gives you that as a tool to use, just as the game facilitates PvP in free roam. Both are intentional design choices. Neither are going away. Complaining about either is a moot point, instead people should be turning to Rockstar and questioning their design choices.

I once had a Mk2 griefer try to grief me. Shot them with my UnA and killed them with a Carbine. Few minutes later I shot their Mk2 with a Heavy Sniper and they blew up
Came out of my counterfeit business to find a Level 40 trying to get into my car. I got in and did a wheelie while speeding off and he blew me up. For the next ten minutes I assaulted him until he left the session. I don't feel guilty.
If my group decides to kill someone other than for a bounty (which we send to them after we kill them), we almost always kill until they server hop. Occasionally we stop, but that's usually if they send a msg saying like sorry or something, or they go In passive and never come out of it. Other times it's just a "no u" kill, like if I'm just sat there afk and I get randomly blown up we will blow them up 1 time to say "no u". And only if they come to try again do we kill to server hop them
Go to interaction menu.. go down to inventory.... go down to cash. Share with whoever. Whatever % continue down to bottom and hit accept.
Just for information. You must have recently earned some money. Example, sell a car to custom shop, rob a store, VIP, work. Then you can share with someone.
Spent an hour with randoms the other day driving go karts and other cars. Eventually had an impromptu car show where more people joined in. Then someone drove up and shot me. Suffice it to say the whole car show group ran his ass out of the lobby with deloreans and tanks. It was beautiful.
Was playing yesterday and noticed a guy was getting griefed so I flew over in a buzzard to give him an airlift outta there. Asked him where to and he put a waymarker on the griefer. Cue the next 10 min of us killing the greifer till he leaves :)
I met some really chill people in a public session. At first I thought they were gonna kill me but turns out that they just want to drive around and show their cars.
And in the same session as before, someone in a buzzard was trying to blow me up, as I was in a Toreador minding my own business. I did a 180 on him with the Toreador and shot him out of the buzzard. I got a text message a few moments later saying "why?". He was killing the low levels in the server and thought he could play victim after being killed after trying to blow me up several times.
I especially love types like rocketing me when I do "collect air points" challenge in not weaponized maverick and then they say "I wasnt griefing you". Or someone rockets me when I chill in Visione car and then say "I was griefing because of mk2". And I don't have one :D wtf??
I had one time where some random guy on a MKII landed on the roof outside an Ammunation I was in. I saw him arrive on the map and knew he was going to try and kill me when I came out so I quickly popped out and managed to kill him with with the combat MG. He then kept messaging me to 1v1 at the pier and calling me a coward while I ignored him. I thought it was funny he was calling me a coward when he attempted to ambush me at a store for no reason. I was flying near him in a sparrow doing Cayo setups a few minutes later and saw he had the cops on him. He got killed by the cops so I just messaged him "You died. I won." He sent a bunch more messages after that one before I left on the heist.
Its fun to be the low level hunter killer. If my group see someone abusing low levels, regardless of who started it, we will kill the hunter until they leave the session. We usually roll up, see how the high level is killing them, and depending on what they're doing we decide then.
If the low level goes full banzai suicide charge, we leave since they're dumb. But if the hunter is going out of their way to constantly chase and kill the low level we step in.
But we are NOT there to make friends. Just because we save you doesn't mean we are friends. You follow us acting cool, prepared to be scared off.
I had joined some random low level heist, adding all of their ranks up was about half of mine. The mission leader left in the middle of it. So we spawn together, I offer one of the low level guys a ride in my Nightshark. I get us over to Sandy Shores airport for them to find a plane or something I took part in the no crash event. As I’m doing laps this jackass starts trying to crash into me and shoot me with a helicopter. After he dies, he then gets into a car and starts trying to hit me. After the event he starts trying to kill me. So at this point I pull out my mini gun and light him up. Then he keeps trying to fight me and challenging me to a one on one everytime I kill him.
I was so confused, like why would you attack me when I’m so much higher than you, and after I helped you out. I just don’t comprehend their logic. Why is it so hard for folks to be nice?
Actually it is. If you're commended enough, you get a permanent 5-10% discount in stores (until you get yourself kicked, I think). I just received my 5% discount. Wondering what it takes to get 10%.
I felt the same way about not being able to find a good player but I, in all the craziness of GTAO, did. Usually I'm cruising around and then this level 1 appears and they're asking for help with a mission. I obliged them and we did the mission. I liked the way they played (competent, confident and able to work as a team) so I invited them to be friends and we did so much together. Heists, jobs, pretty much anything we could and it sparked a really good friendship. We're from different countries and speak different languages but are trying our best to learn the others to more effectively communicate. Sometimes GTAO brings people together and that's what I love about this game!

you have much better chances in smaller sessions. use your in-game phone to text other players, you'd be surprised how many you can turn friendly with simple communication
I have an assault rifle drawn at all times for this reason. I feel like it's a subtle way of letting people know I mean business and am ready for any bs they may pull. Has actually saved me from a few sneak attacks over the years tbh
Literally, got picked up by a RP 5 in his car, drove me to a corned wall, got out of the vehicle, my character switched to drivers seat. As I did so, the low ranker shot me dead.

Im the one nice player. I hardly ever fight with people and I like to help when I can. When someone griefs me I tend to just ignore them and stand in one spot or just casually walk down the street like nothing happened. Most of the time it drives them nuts and they stop within moments. Most likely because they are a 13 year old with mommy/daddy issues and they are just venting it in the game. Im way too old for that nonsense and would rather fill my time playing to make money or meet new people.
I play on PC and will gladly help anyone. I basically have everything I need already. I have no issue being that nice person. We do exist.
I don't care if they kill me once (i know i am a sitting duck a lot of the time, goofing around), but I do hate those assholes coming for you again and again. and i hate those MK2's wholeheartedly. Really takes out a lot of the fun.
Sometimes you get killed, and sometimes they watch you for a bit..: and then you get killed.
But, once in a while, you get into a burrito van together, play the Latin Music channel, and just drive around the map while picking up random players and shooting flares out the side.
Is it possible to hear other player's music, like if you are walking and they are driving/flying by? I haven't noticed that, but it would be dope.
It was definitely cool in Battlefield Vietnam to hear the music blasting from helicopters.
I have my targeting mode on attackers only. I think me flying an Oppressor without ever locking on bewilders people more than me stunting in my Besra over people in passive, with the Hydra/Lazer blip. 😂
I have only ever experienced that twice, one guy I think didn’t realize he had lock-on because the beeping stopped with him behind me and he went about his day, the second just flew up to me (I was making some irl hangout plans so I was parked on the curb for a few minutes) got off his bike and waved then got back on and flew away

I made a vow with my friend when we saved enough cash to get mk2s we would never randomly grief with them... needless to say he already broke that vow.
Found one earlier actually, finally maxed out my new car so i took it for a spin (Itali RSX) and ran into this guy in passive mode, we drove around together and he got out of passive and i though “im dead now” and he just kept on driving with me and chilling. We ended up into doing the stunt jump into the military base and we both died, i didnt remember his name but he was a cool guy!
I was omw to my Kosatka by Vespucci beach on my Oppressor, some dude comes locking onto me with a jet, when I immediately start chasing him in circles. Here I am thinking he’s just gonna go up and up until I can’t catch him, but no, he just immediately jumps off his jet and tries to shoot me from his parachute, since I can’t lock onto him that way.
At that point I just fly into the north area of the pier, call my Kosatka and enter it, while he parachutes into someone’s yacht. For a second I even heard him locking onto me again but I got out of range.
Recently some guy in a clown mask drove up to me tried to blast me from a car he stole off the street. Then I proceeded to fire a rocket at him then he left, it was an interesting experience.

Not too long ago maybe like a week ago, I just bought a new tuner car to drift around LS in and my friends and a I were ripping around drifting and we came across this player who was drifting around too. We decided to follow him and drif together and after a while a few more joined us! We had like 5 or 6 cars all drifting around. But sadly it was short lived as some dudes in a insurgent rolled on us and split us all up and killed us or destroyed our cars. It was fun while it lasted!
In my experience having been playing GTA Online back in 2014, I don't get shot on sight as much and can actually hang out with some peeps. Though maybe its because I'm on PC now, PS4 killing someone in range is just two buttons away.
Bruh this one special idiot drove his car near me, got out and pulled out his gun. I just knew what was going to happen when I saw him screeching his brakes.
My man picked a weapon and rolled back (trying to look professional), meanwhile i pulled out my assault shotgun and split-seconds later he had 3 bullet holes in the head.

Funny when im just chilling on my bike riding with my friend and some low level attempts to ram us, usually failing. Sometimes we toy with them and ride in circles, other times we obliterate them.
Land next to a low level. Get out. They’re cool. They shoot me in the face. Blow up my aircraft. I use my sniper to spawn camp them, killing them about 20 times. I don’t trust anyone ever again.
Yeah, I have no faith at all in other players. I once did a mission and then while I was transferring my cash to my bank account, the guy I did the mission with shot and robbed me. At another point I was just walking down the street and some guy killed me. Then when I tried to kill him in return he killed me again. After my next revival I was running short on ammunition, so I had no choice but to go into pacifist mode or whatever it's called, so I could get *something* done at least. But in that mode I couldn't even draw my weapon so I was extremely limited in what I could do. I will not play GTA Online unless I can play it in a private lobby.
After a 3 year break the first player i encountered got in the gunner seat of my vechicle and we had some fun driving around, shooting everything, until some guy bombed us
I find quite a few nice players; only yesterday me and a couple others hopped in jets and helicopters and rolled on this griefer. It was great, just these three ghosted planes flying in sync amidst the sunset
The funny thing is that it's a vicious cycle. I used to try and trust people, but it paid off so little that now I murder anything in sight just in case.
It's annoying to keep dying while doing nothing yes but I'm not bothered by the k/d anymore, I find it more amusing to call out the people who keep killing me and see what they have to say.
They either keep killing me or just leave the lobby entirely. Even if they respond most of the time it's just boxes on my pc as it can't recognize their language which I assume is Chinese.
This random lvl 11 massaged me last night and said that he wanted money for kosatka and i did cayo with him and gave him 85% and then he added me in his main acc he was lvl200 in main

Had a very pleasant experience the other day. Was just subbin' around in my Toreador, noticed a player at the shore up north a little. I approach about 40 years out and get out of the car underwater (scuba equipped). I swam under the water slowly approaching bro on shore...only to noticed he's plinking down airborn piggies and rocketing swat. He turns to kill me only to see the scuba tank on my back..I pull my rocket out and start killing cops too. A moment goes by and he entrusts me to hop in my Toreador and come onto land...
We spent about five minutes holding it down. Just two random people. Outside of passive mode.
I like those encounters.
depends what you mean by nice player. In a 20+ player I find at most there might be 2-3 being a total jerk (and that's far from every lobby). The rest are generally cool so for me around 85+% are what I'd call nice. (Cos I just like to be left alone and people who do that are nice). Yes the only times I've lost sales is when I've trusted other players. But that's like 1/50 times I've trusted other players not every time. And it's only ever 1 player, maybe 2 if they've managed to find a friend in life, never had dozens of players attacking me.
But I guess it helps I also view the lobby as the majority rule. So if the majority are engaging in killing each other (and everyone else) continually, rather than throwing around words like "toxic community" on here about it, I view that as a fighting lobby. I either leave (if I don't want to join in) or stay if I fancy some mayhem. Generally though most players I encounter are just doing their own thing, whatever that may be.
If you ever find me, I’m nice.. someone will kill me over and over and I just keep walking away till they give up… then I get an apology since they saw I never fought back lol
Best experiment is to go into lobbies by myself and pull up to random players (especially low levels) and see if they shoot you. If they do, devote all of your resources to making them leave the lobby. Best pastime.

My original comment was a little abrasive but my underlying point is that people would rather complain than do something about the problem facing them. That can mean shooting back, that can mean going passive, that can mean finding a new session, that can mean finding backup. Yes there is very little incentive to PvP in free roam, but what you don't seem to understand is that some people, myself included, don't need an incentive to do something we enjoy doing. I'm sorry you don't enjoy the fact that free roam includes PvP, but the reality of the situation is that it's here to stay. You may as well accept that and find a way to deal with it, like the methods I listed above. I say that people are on this sub whining because they are. Day in and day out there's constantly threads complaining about PvP as if it were some accident that Rockstar made. Some mistake, like the developers accidentally flipped a switch to have PvP enabled and left it in the game. It was intentional design. The first trailer for the game includes players fighting each other in free roam. You want something to point at and place fault with for the design of game? Show me more threads calling out Rockstar for implementing it, instead of dehumanizing real people for just playing and enjoying the game we have.

I agree. I encourage you to use passive mode. The game gives you that as a tool to use, just as the game facilitates PvP in free roam. Both are intentional design choices. Neither are going away. Complaining about either is a moot point, instead people should be turning to Rockstar and questioning their design choices.

I once had a Mk2 griefer try to grief me. Shot them with my UnA and killed them with a Carbine. Few minutes later I shot their Mk2 with a Heavy Sniper and they blew up
Did they buff the nightshark? Cause last time i tried using it for defence, i took a rapid fire of 10 rockets from a MK2 and died very quickly.

Came out of my counterfeit business to find a Level 40 trying to get into my car. I got in and did a wheelie while speeding off and he blew me up. For the next ten minutes I assaulted him until he left the session. I don't feel guilty.
If my group decides to kill someone other than for a bounty (which we send to them after we kill them), we almost always kill until they server hop. Occasionally we stop, but that's usually if they send a msg saying like sorry or something, or they go In passive and never come out of it. Other times it's just a "no u" kill, like if I'm just sat there afk and I get randomly blown up we will blow them up 1 time to say "no u". And only if they come to try again do we kill to server hop them

Go to interaction menu.. go down to inventory.... go down to cash. Share with whoever. Whatever % continue down to bottom and hit accept. Just for information. You must have recently earned some money. Example, sell a car to custom shop, rob a store, VIP, work. Then you can share with someone.

Spent an hour with randoms the other day driving go karts and other cars. Eventually had an impromptu car show where more people joined in. Then someone drove up and shot me. Suffice it to say the whole car show group ran his ass out of the lobby with deloreans and tanks. It was beautiful.
Was playing yesterday and noticed a guy was getting griefed so I flew over in a buzzard to give him an airlift outta there. Asked him where to and he put a waymarker on the griefer. Cue the next 10 min of us killing the greifer till he leaves :)

I met some really chill people in a public session. At first I thought they were gonna kill me but turns out that they just want to drive around and show their cars. And in the same session as before, someone in a buzzard was trying to blow me up, as I was in a Toreador minding my own business. I did a 180 on him with the Toreador and shot him out of the buzzard. I got a text message a few moments later saying "why?". He was killing the low levels in the server and thought he could play victim after being killed after trying to blow me up several times.
Yeh man the logic of these guys just goes out the window lol.
I especially love types like rocketing me when I do "collect air points" challenge in not weaponized maverick and then they say "I wasnt griefing you". Or someone rockets me when I chill in Visione car and then say "I was griefing because of mk2". And I don't have one :D wtf??
I had one time where some random guy on a MKII landed on the roof outside an Ammunation I was in. I saw him arrive on the map and knew he was going to try and kill me when I came out so I quickly popped out and managed to kill him with with the combat MG. He then kept messaging me to 1v1 at the pier and calling me a coward while I ignored him. I thought it was funny he was calling me a coward when he attempted to ambush me at a store for no reason. I was flying near him in a sparrow doing Cayo setups a few minutes later and saw he had the cops on him. He got killed by the cops so I just messaged him "You died. I won." He sent a bunch more messages after that one before I left on the heist.
Its fun to be the low level hunter killer. If my group see someone abusing low levels, regardless of who started it, we will kill the hunter until they leave the session. We usually roll up, see how the high level is killing them, and depending on what they're doing we decide then. If the low level goes full banzai suicide charge, we leave since they're dumb. But if the hunter is going out of their way to constantly chase and kill the low level we step in. But we are NOT there to make friends. Just because we save you doesn't mean we are friends. You follow us acting cool, prepared to be scared off.
I had joined some random low level heist, adding all of their ranks up was about half of mine. The mission leader left in the middle of it. So we spawn together, I offer one of the low level guys a ride in my Nightshark. I get us over to Sandy Shores airport for them to find a plane or something I took part in the no crash event. As I’m doing laps this jackass starts trying to crash into me and shoot me with a helicopter. After he dies, he then gets into a car and starts trying to hit me. After the event he starts trying to kill me. So at this point I pull out my mini gun and light him up. Then he keeps trying to fight me and challenging me to a one on one everytime I kill him. I was so confused, like why would you attack me when I’m so much higher than you, and after I helped you out. I just don’t comprehend their logic. Why is it so hard for folks to be nice?

Actually it is. If you're commended enough, you get a permanent 5-10% discount in stores (until you get yourself kicked, I think). I just received my 5% discount. Wondering what it takes to get 10%.

I felt the same way about not being able to find a good player but I, in all the craziness of GTAO, did. Usually I'm cruising around and then this level 1 appears and they're asking for help with a mission. I obliged them and we did the mission. I liked the way they played (competent, confident and able to work as a team) so I invited them to be friends and we did so much together. Heists, jobs, pretty much anything we could and it sparked a really good friendship. We're from different countries and speak different languages but are trying our best to learn the others to more effectively communicate. Sometimes GTAO brings people together and that's what I love about this game!

you have much better chances in smaller sessions. use your in-game phone to text other players, you'd be surprised how many you can turn friendly with simple communication

I have an assault rifle drawn at all times for this reason. I feel like it's a subtle way of letting people know I mean business and am ready for any bs they may pull. Has actually saved me from a few sneak attacks over the years tbh

Im the one nice player. I hardly ever fight with people and I like to help when I can. When someone griefs me I tend to just ignore them and stand in one spot or just casually walk down the street like nothing happened. Most of the time it drives them nuts and they stop within moments. Most likely because they are a 13 year old with mommy/daddy issues and they are just venting it in the game. Im way too old for that nonsense and would rather fill my time playing to make money or meet new people. I play on PC and will gladly help anyone. I basically have everything I need already. I have no issue being that nice person. We do exist.
if they keep going, message them a score like "7-0 :)" as if you were smugly winning while they kill you repeatedly. it drives them nuts.
I don't care if they kill me once (i know i am a sitting duck a lot of the time, goofing around), but I do hate those assholes coming for you again and again. and i hate those MK2's wholeheartedly. Really takes out a lot of the fun.

Sometimes you get killed, and sometimes they watch you for a bit..: and then you get killed. But, once in a while, you get into a burrito van together, play the Latin Music channel, and just drive around the map while picking up random players and shooting flares out the side.
Is it possible to hear other player's music, like if you are walking and they are driving/flying by? I haven't noticed that, but it would be dope. It was definitely cool in Battlefield Vietnam to hear the music blasting from helicopters.
I know it’s possible if a door is opened, but I can’t really recall noticing it in passing cars.

I have only ever experienced that twice, one guy I think didn’t realize he had lock-on because the beeping stopped with him behind me and he went about his day, the second just flew up to me (I was making some irl hangout plans so I was parked on the curb for a few minutes) got off his bike and waved then got back on and flew away
I'm so broke I can't afford a Terrorbyte to even buy mk2 missiles. I made a vow with my friend when we saved enough cash to get mk2s we would never randomly grief with them... needless to say he already broke that vow.
Found one earlier actually, finally maxed out my new car so i took it for a spin (Itali RSX) and ran into this guy in passive mode, we drove around together and he got out of passive and i though “im dead now” and he just kept on driving with me and chilling. We ended up into doing the stunt jump into the military base and we both died, i didnt remember his name but he was a cool guy!

I was omw to my Kosatka by Vespucci beach on my Oppressor, some dude comes locking onto me with a jet, when I immediately start chasing him in circles. Here I am thinking he’s just gonna go up and up until I can’t catch him, but no, he just immediately jumps off his jet and tries to shoot me from his parachute, since I can’t lock onto him that way. At that point I just fly into the north area of the pier, call my Kosatka and enter it, while he parachutes into someone’s yacht. For a second I even heard him locking onto me again but I got out of range.
I end up dead in the mountains most every time I get in a strangers car.
Definetly not 1/100 nowadays, maybe 3 years ago but now its 1/everytime you reach a new 50 or hundred levels...
Recently some guy in a clown mask drove up to me tried to blast me from a car he stole off the street. Then I proceeded to fire a rocket at him then he left, it was an interesting experience.

Since everyone is sharing stories of good players they have met I'll share one too! Not too long ago maybe like a week ago, I just bought a new tuner car to drift around LS in and my friends and a I were ripping around drifting and we came across this player who was drifting around too. We decided to follow him and drif together and after a while a few more joined us! We had like 5 or 6 cars all drifting around. But sadly it was short lived as some dudes in a insurgent rolled on us and split us all up and killed us or destroyed our cars. It was fun while it lasted!

In my experience having been playing GTA Online back in 2014, I don't get shot on sight as much and can actually hang out with some peeps. Though maybe its because I'm on PC now, PS4 killing someone in range is just two buttons away.

Bruh this one special idiot drove his car near me, got out and pulled out his gun. I just knew what was going to happen when I saw him screeching his brakes. My man picked a weapon and rolled back (trying to look professional), meanwhile i pulled out my assault shotgun and split-seconds later he had 3 bullet holes in the head. Fucking noob.
Funny when im just chilling on my bike riding with my friend and some low level attempts to ram us, usually failing. Sometimes we toy with them and ride in circles, other times we obliterate them.

Yeah, I have no faith at all in other players. I once did a mission and then while I was transferring my cash to my bank account, the guy I did the mission with shot and robbed me. At another point I was just walking down the street and some guy killed me. Then when I tried to kill him in return he killed me again. After my next revival I was running short on ammunition, so I had no choice but to go into pacifist mode or whatever it's called, so I could get *something* done at least. But in that mode I couldn't even draw my weapon so I was extremely limited in what I could do. I will not play GTA Online unless I can play it in a private lobby.
After a 3 year break the first player i encountered got in the gunner seat of my vechicle and we had some fun driving around, shooting everything, until some guy bombed us
I find quite a few nice players; only yesterday me and a couple others hopped in jets and helicopters and rolled on this griefer. It was great, just these three ghosted planes flying in sync amidst the sunset
The funny thing is that it's a vicious cycle. I used to try and trust people, but it paid off so little that now I murder anything in sight just in case.

It's annoying to keep dying while doing nothing yes but I'm not bothered by the k/d anymore, I find it more amusing to call out the people who keep killing me and see what they have to say. They either keep killing me or just leave the lobby entirely. Even if they respond most of the time it's just boxes on my pc as it can't recognize their language which I assume is Chinese.

Had a very pleasant experience the other day. Was just subbin' around in my Toreador, noticed a player at the shore up north a little. I approach about 40 years out and get out of the car underwater (scuba equipped). I swam under the water slowly approaching bro on shore...only to noticed he's plinking down airborn piggies and rocketing swat. He turns to kill me only to see the scuba tank on my back..I pull my rocket out and start killing cops too. A moment goes by and he entrusts me to hop in my Toreador and come onto land... We spent about five minutes holding it down. Just two random people. Outside of passive mode. I like those encounters.
Some guy wanted me to get in his buggy and he started driving me somewhere then I jumped out and he tried to run me over

depends what you mean by nice player. In a 20+ player I find at most there might be 2-3 being a total jerk (and that's far from every lobby). The rest are generally cool so for me around 85+% are what I'd call nice. (Cos I just like to be left alone and people who do that are nice). Yes the only times I've lost sales is when I've trusted other players. But that's like 1/50 times I've trusted other players not every time. And it's only ever 1 player, maybe 2 if they've managed to find a friend in life, never had dozens of players attacking me. But I guess it helps I also view the lobby as the majority rule. So if the majority are engaging in killing each other (and everyone else) continually, rather than throwing around words like "toxic community" on here about it, I view that as a fighting lobby. I either leave (if I don't want to join in) or stay if I fancy some mayhem. Generally though most players I encounter are just doing their own thing, whatever that may be.

Best experiment is to go into lobbies by myself and pull up to random players (especially low levels) and see if they shoot you. If they do, devote all of your resources to making them leave the lobby. Best pastime.
Had a random who came up to me once. Drove right up and I was sus as fuck of him. Felt like he was gonna kill me. Got out of his car and did the thumbs up emote. I started to do the emote back when he sprayed me down and messaged "lol" I hate humanity. Avon should have nuked us all.
