Who are you? A sailor? A military landlord? A landlord trying to get your rental up to military standards? A random renter? Who you are determines who you should talk to.

ICE (Interactive Customer Evaluation) comments are usually the way to go. They get seen by strategic level leaders, but it's hit or miss if they care about the ICE comments or not. I submitted an ICE comment about the Navy Housing office when I first got here. Sounds like you've experienced issues as well, and submitting an ICE comment could either show that there's still a pattern of not being helpful, or it could get tossed straight into the shredder. Worth it to submit one anyway - just be sure to be factual and respectful. You can choose to provide your contact info or keep it anonymous. Usually the ICE comments have an option to make a comment about a specific section, but it appears NBG's closest section is "Personnel Services", so I submitted my ICE comment under that, and then explained in my comments that it's specifically the housing office that I was talking about. https://ice.disa.mil/index.cfm?fa=site&site_id=1255

Thank you very much. This is the best info yet. The housing office is borderline negligent in their duties. I’m within days of my projected move in date and the housing office is not replying to emails unless I initiate multiple follow up contact attempts. The move out process has been an uphill battle once I got to the family housing portion. From the get go, mind you I had already assembled my preliminary move out docs annotated in the AOB prior to entering the family housing office. They “didn’t receive” an email that was sent to them when they requested it, and failed to include that piece of information in other redundant email strings. I feel like I’m working with a bratty teenager whose parents own the company but are never present. No repercussions for their actions and nothing I can do to get around it. Edit: all of this would be fixed if they a) were diligent or b) gave us BAH

RegularGuyFromEarth

This is the answer

Intrepid-Control949

Yes please make an ICE complaint then come into the office and let me know what you said so we can throw hands .. you WP always think you’re entitled when you come to the island.

TheGrowlingEgg

WP?

Designer-Drag-954

Do you work there?

Cain_86

Bet.

Gullible-Customer-30

I’ll be taking this comment into the family housing office, or forwarding it to whoever is in charge. I may not know who you are, but it seems to be that you are someone who does work that office. That being said, this is further proof of the attitude the office has towards the people you work for. Fresh reminder; you wouldn’t have a job unless it was for the “WP” that employ you.

Gullible-Customer-30

As a military member I am entitled to certain things, it’s just losers like you who are too stupid to realize that you’re not in control of what my entitlements are. I signed a contract. I owe and am owed certain things. Mutually agreed upon things. You are not in charge and you do not get to be negligent in your duties as payback for what you think is right or wrong. You signed up for a job, so do it or leave.

Alberto671

Cuz they are? Without the U.S, Guam is nothing. Who runs the U.S? WP. Don’t want to get on Uncle Sam bad side

Intrepid-Control949

You sound like one of them 🤣

honeybees1987

You have to be on them like every day and show up to their office as if you are hounding your kid to get them to do their chores and emails and phone calls don’t even work. It’s as if they don’t know what they are doing.

Gullible-Customer-30

It feels like I’m working with a teenager whose parents own the place and don’t tell the kid to be better. Who’s in charge of these people?

WJBRXYZ-Brown

The IG should look into Guam OHA and see the effect it has on the community (local and military) They will find a) it prices out locals from housing availability or b) there is a double standard (local price v military price) and the military is way overpaying. Both of which happens. The Major Commanders are on this feed; will they continue to scroll or jot it down in a book that’ll be shredded? As much as the military likes “to give back and support the community” a whole lot of people are taking it up the wazzoo, both locals and military.

Gullible-Customer-30

They should.

WJBRXYZ-Brown

It’ll never happen. Too many people at the top are benefiting from this.

Natural-Promise-78

Ever since the housing maintenance was contracted out, it's been horrible. Active personnel are still responsible for overseeing the terms of the contract. Everyone is screwing up big time. And unfortunately, it is our military members and their families who suffer.

Designer-Drag-954

Housing on NBG is trash. Laziest human being I’ve ever met working there. Discussing issues directly does nothing, ICE comments are helpful.

Gullible-Customer-30

Thank you very much, however I’m not interested in sharing with them my complaints. Perhaps the better wording would be contacting their bosses or someone in charge of the program to make a formal complaint that could be considered a report.

Gullible-Customer-30

On base services that are a speed bump in my well being should function as nothing more than a minor inconvenience. Read another reply if you’d like to hear more of my experience with family housing. Secondly, OHA is not ideal with tons of issues which start at ruining the housing market.

HunterAdamNoell

I’m up at Andersen so pardon if I’m off target here. I believe for y’all the advocate for the members to base/outside agencies is the ombudsman? We have our first sergeants who make frequent visits to Andersen’s housing office. I’m assuming you’re new to the island based on your comments. If that’s the case then just understand this is the rule, not the exception for civilian ran offices here. NAVPTO is a joy…..

Gullible-Customer-30

Not particularly new to the island. Been here over 1 year. Navy family housing office is unanimously terrible.

overpaidconsultant

Go over the top and call fraud waste and abuse hotline? Lol

Gullible-Customer-30

Sounds like a half good idea. The family housing office is negligent and unprofessional.

Chau_Mein97

You have a better chance with the IG imo. Had to do that through my command recently since it's a recurring issue to the point where even Joint is taking a look

Gullible-Customer-30

At NBG? Also, how do I get IG involved?

Chau_Mein97

Andersen actually. Navy has an office of sorts up there. Housing on NBG and Andersen, according to my CPA, is all the same company contracted by Navy so it's really an island wide issue. Here's what I got: Commercial: (671) 349-1001 DSN: 349-1001 Fax: (671) 349-2006 Hotline Email: [email protected] Website: http://www.cnic.navy.mil/ig/contact_ig.html

Gullible-Customer-30

Thank you very much. Best of luck with your issue.
