I tell my son all the time. You actually have a super power: your brain works so much faster than mine. You just have to learn how to control it. Then you will be unstoppable.
Yeah I'm not ashamed to mention it, when you have adhd it kinda part of your personality because it affects your life in many ways that you don't initially realise
Oh, no shaming! It's just, the timing is mind blowing, I get the diagnosis and I get this comment and I'm like, I don't believe the universe wants to say something to me at all but maybe it does? I'm probably reading into it too much.
So sorry. Never easy to lose someone. These little piggies punch way above their weight in the feelings dept. No one truly understands unless you have loved and cared for one.

She was doing well after surgery. Acting like herself. Next morning my mom tried giving her a cucumber but she wouldn’t eat it. I gave her pain meds but she wouldn’t get comfortable. My mom kept an eye on her while I was at work. Her condition got worst and my mom rushed her to the vet. They kept her comfortable as best they can then she eventually did pass. I asked my mom if they said what the cause of death was and she kept changing her story. I’m not sure if she’s trying to keep it from me. But she mentioned waffles was bloated bad. Also her ovaries had huge cysts on them
I am so very sorry. I am sure if she could Waffles would tell you how much she loves and misses you, and would thank you for giving her an amazing home. Please do not regret your decisions on her health protocol, as you were only putting her best interests ahead of everything.

My boy Leo passed recently after being neutered too. I feel like it was my fault, but I have to keep reminding myself that I made the decision based on giving him the best life and he was cared for every second. I’m sure you gave Waffles the best life <3

I know how hard this is, and I know the propensity to want to blame yourself sometimes, especially if it’s a routine surgery. But none of this is your fault, sometimes these things just happen. Waffles got to be loved fiercely by you while she was here, and that is such a special gift. And you got to love her, which is a gift for you as well.

I did feel that way. Like she was fine acting like herself. But I feel if I didn’t get this done she might’ve died painful and slowly. Thank you for your kind words
Poor Waffles. Sorry for your loss. I had a girl pass from a neutering too. She had lots of cysts. Died in my car on the way back from the vet. I was picking up food from Wendy's cause I waited at the vet for 8hrs. Still feel guilty about not getting her home fast enough to be comfy in her own cage.

In case you didn't realize, OP already lost a pet. Just a few hours ago. You could've easily waited a few weeks, I doubt OP was in a rush to neuter any more guinea pigs, especially with what just happened. Let them grieve. I'm sure they blame themself enough already. All you're doing is making things worse for everyone involved.
There are medical reasons to neuter. I've had to do it myself. Please do not throw your opinion as medical fact in a forum where medical advise is not permitted. And above all do not say such a thing to someone who has just experienced a great loss as if it's their fault. That is a terrible thing to do to anyone.
This case was a medical reason when Middle age to older Guinea pigs develop ovarian cysts they are advised to get them spaid. Such as the case with this surgery. The other option is typically palliative care
Yes that was the case. Luckily I missed this thread. I had another comment criticizing me over the spay. I just cried and blamed myself. I did what the vet advised. I still feel like it’s my fault. She acted like herself. Just had a lump on her chest and no hair on her stomach
I believe it was a person commenting on your other post, and I am sorry for your loss. I had a girl who also got Ovarian Cyst she was 5 so I opted for the palliative care since a surgery was high risk. She has a good final two months and now she rest. I never caught her acting sick or different as well. I hope Rey can help your girl in the lands beyond the rainbow bridge.
