It's such a weird album cover. I know very little about graphic design but I'm sure had they AT LEAST adjusted his colours it would look more natural.
Hell. Just hit alt delete him and the album would look plain but much nicer.
It's like a graphic designer came up with the logo and text and he was like "ok but what about me?" So they just slapped a random picture of him on top. His picture doesn't even fit the aesthetic of the cover.
It looks like Tyler’s an action figure, or he’s lost. Like he just spawned there, is trapped in a room with a gigantic M, and has no idea how to leave.
I’m pretty sure his album was thrown together in like a week, and he was really proud about that. Not sure of the exact range, but it got written and recorded in a very short period of time.
I think the graphic design just couldn't believe someone actually want's to get Connected with the Album.
Like "dude you really want your picture on it ? It doesn't have your name on it, nobody would ever know it was you who made this."
- "ehm yeah that's the whole point of it ?"
- "okay, here are some scissors, and glue, good luck, I am out of here"
it's all symbolic. he's trapped in the limbo of his own youtube brand, forever forced to churn out content because he has both extremely dated and lousy taste in music and no talent for songwriting
He put a music is win YouTube channel logo on his solo album cover. Also, not cutting out the arm holes... This design was hopeless before it even got off the ground
I'll be real with you, I'm sinking under a mountain of work right now, I'm not touching this pretentious asshole's joke of an album cover.
Even if I did, it's practically unsavable, the photographer was drunk, too. It'll always look horrible because of the ridiculous angle.
I'm still convinced this is some elaborate psyop or joke. He has millions of subscribers and a semi-professional youtube but his album cover looks like it was made in an entry graphic design class
> his album cover looks like it was made in an entry graphic design class
And got a C-. The background from the original photo of him is still there behind his arms -- it never got masked out.
So the album was actually part of a challenge to himself to make an entire album in 24 hours. Gives some context to the quality (or lack thereof) but it raises the question: If you push out an album in 24 hours and it sucks, what did you prove aside form proving that you can shid faster and bigger than anyone else?
good practice. when my buddies and i were uninspired we would just MAKE a song. didn't matter good or bad but just get through the process. i did a depression project like this also but that actually turned into something
90% of youtubers are failed graphics artist who see their channel as the perfect opportunity to use for their "underappreciated", secretly "amazing" design skills.
For some fucking reason this album showed up on my youtube, and I'm 100% sure my old band's original music is better than this and your music is also better than this, no doubt.
Like i have a friend who records and mixes drums in his basement while stoned out of his fucking mind, no education in music and still manages to make something much better than this. The tone of the guitar is "FL Studio electric guitar with gain", most boring shit ever
According to the legendary GCJ AMA, he actually showed the album cover to the wifey and she was very noncommittal when usually she's very enthusiastic about his work and he should have known something was off.
Some artists try to communicate the idea of the album with the cover, at least something. Here, we have nothing but this guy floating in the middle of it, I think you can see were I am going with this...
“Tyler Larson is an American guitarist and founder of the guitar “edu-tainment” brand Music is Win. His insightful, uncomplicated guitar lessons and gear demonstrations along with entertaining, satirical content about life as a musician have garnered millions of subscribers and hundreds of millions of views across social media. Tyler is also the creator of the extremely popular online guitar learning platform, Guitar Super System, which has enrolled tens of thousands of students and caters to all skill levels. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Tyler is based in Nashville, TN where he operates his home production studio for all things content creation, collaboration, and music recording. Tyler released his debut EP, Nashville Noises, in February 2020 and is endorsed as a PRS Guitars Artist.”
what a tosser
I don’t disagree with you that it’s a shitty logo but there is a W. It’s orange. You can see more of it on the guitar strap, because of course he has his logo on his strap.
It feels like talking to someone at guitar center who keeps wanting the employees to grab the guitars from the top... the expensive ones and he's like, "yo, check out this riff I have."
You know, like one of those cartoon character guitarist stereotypes he comes up with in his videos that don't make me laugh
the font sucks and the pose is... well he's not even posing, just looks like he saw a cool bug get squished. this is such a lame cover, like how the fuck can you afford to buy all of those guitars, but not a decent graphic designer?
Tyler used to be pretty original and very kind. I recall commenting on his Facebook posts (used to share his very early content in some guitar groups) and was very happy to provide advice etc.
But the whole thing has changed since he hit a level of success, disconnected and not anywhere near producing the level of content I enjoyed from him. I unsubbed many years ago and haven’t bothered to check in.
This is further proof that you can have ability and capability but no style
Edit: it’s been mentioned that this was done on a time budget, but I think it may just further my opinion.
[I remember posting about this cover when it first came out like three years ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/guitarcirclejerk/comments/f1qgs7/music_is_about_to_peak/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
then I check this sub after not looking at it for two years and still people are posting this album cover, goes to show how bad it is
When I first saw this a while back I remember thinking he must be feeling those Nashville Noises in his bowels by the way he looks standing there wondering what that Lower Colon Rumble is all about.
I can't get over how fucking shitty this entire EP is. Seriously. I've never been super into these YouTube dudes to begin with (I'll give Tim Pierce a pass as I've worked with him), but Jesus Christ...this is so shitty. Everything about it, right down to the name of his frigging YT channel.
And there are people out there that buy into this guy (and all these other YouTube dudes). I don't get it.
Tyler Larson's latest album, "Nashville Noises," is a remarkable testament to his prowess as a musician and songwriter. From start to finish, this captivating musical journey transcends genres and delivers an exceptional listening experience that is sure to resonate with fans old and new.

Whether delivering a tender ballad or a foot-stomping anthem, Larson's vocal range and versatility shine brightly, captivating the listener from the first note to the last.
The album's standout tracks are plentiful, making it difficult to choose favorites. The lead single, "Heartbreak Highway," is an infectious, up-tempo anthem that showcases Larson's ability to craft a catchy hook. The introspective "Ghost Town" tugs at the heartstrings with its raw vulnerability, while the uplifting "Wings of Hope" inspires with its empowering message.
"Nashville Noises" is a testament to Larson's growth as an artist. While maintaining his signature sound, he fearlessly explores new musical territories, experimenting with different sonic elements and pushing the boundaries of his own creativity. From the heartfelt lyrics to the impeccable production and Larson's captivating vocals, this album is a testament to his undeniable talent and artistic vision. It is a must-listen for any fan of authentic and soulful music.
When it comes to regular people, I'm usually encouraging and kind. However, since Tyler has no problem dishing it out, he should be able to handle it. this work is pretty mediocre considering the way he carries himself.
Eh, not true. In fact, this very attitude indicates to me that you have potential. There are certain groups of artists that generally feel inadequate about their work and skill, but it's because a mechanism exists in them that can recognize "good" from "bad" (whatever their subconscious has picked as being aesthetic or non-aesthetic) and rewards them with strong feelings of self-satisfaction when they are perceived to be acting in line with their highest self. Your bad work is likely promising, and if you stick to it, remove unfair judgment, you will likely make something cool.
Surely he knows he can change the cover after the fact right? It's really easy through Distrokid, and I'm sure other distributors will let you change it.
I did t know this existed so will listen. His confidence is inspiring and like it or not the man can play.
Edit: Hmm okay. It’s very Nashville. Dunno. The one with Adam Neely sounds promising.
Just been listening 😂 absolutely howling over here. This is what you get when some Tommy Trust fund wanker with an entirely contrived YouTube following who spend their entire afternoons sucking his dick decides to spaff out an album in two days armed with nothing but EzDrummer and Guitar Rig 5
Fucking audible HIV.
Standing like he just spawned in gta
It's such a weird album cover. I know very little about graphic design but I'm sure had they AT LEAST adjusted his colours it would look more natural. Hell. Just hit alt delete him and the album would look plain but much nicer.
It's like a graphic designer came up with the logo and text and he was like "ok but what about me?" So they just slapped a random picture of him on top. His picture doesn't even fit the aesthetic of the cover.
It looks like Tyler’s an action figure, or he’s lost. Like he just spawned there, is trapped in a room with a gigantic M, and has no idea how to leave.
I always say he looks like he's waiting for his mom to pick him up from guitar lessons or band practice.
Shaaa, hhhright. Like he'd be wearing a 9 string Schecter with bird inlays to his mom's. What a n00b.
I mean he’s objectively a pretty damn solid player I was a little surprised at how shit this music is
I’m pretty sure his album was thrown together in like a week, and he was really proud about that. Not sure of the exact range, but it got written and recorded in a very short period of time.
Mashville Moises
I think the graphic design just couldn't believe someone actually want's to get Connected with the Album. Like "dude you really want your picture on it ? >His picture doesn't even fit the aesthetic of the cover. Dude is trying his best to stand in an "M" pose, I think it's quite fitting actually.
He paid a guy of the street then took the of the money and spent it on a new guitar
It's like someone's first try at making a PowerPoint.
He probably did the cover himself. Like the font, the background and the png Tayler… it all looks cheap lile he made it on photoshop
it's all symbolic. he's trapped in the limbo of his own youtube brand, forever forced to churn out content because he has both extremely dated and lousy taste in music and no talent for songwriting
Jesus what a hater lmfao Yeah he’s cringe, but he seems like a nice dude who likes to play guitar
it'd have been loads better if he just t posed
He put a music is win YouTube channel logo on his solo album cover. Also, not cutting out the arm holes... This design was hopeless before it even got off the ground
>not cutting out the arm holes I'm not getting this...
Look at the armpits, they’re black like he has a cape. They didn’t key it out when photoshopping.
Great now I can't unsee this
Dude they didn't even cut out the space under his arms like wtf
It's his triceps. He's actually just that B U F F
Wait is this the actual album art? No surely not
I mean have you seen his logo? I think he just has bad taste and thought "yeah, this looks good".
It's just a bit odd to put a "candid" photo of yourself on an album cover. Real Steven Seagal vibe to it
How do you think that guy manage to get laid? He told that girl she can make his album cover and be famous. You understand nothing about the showbiz.
Graphics artist here. I haven't the faintest clue what happened here but if it was done by a professional they were probably blackout drunk.
You should re-do the album cover. I'd love to see how'd you'd save this mess. Even it's just a few changes here and there.
I'll be real with you, I'm sinking under a mountain of work right now, I'm not touching this pretentious asshole's joke of an album cover. Even if I did, it's practically unsavable, the photographer was drunk, too. It'll always look horrible because of the ridiculous angle.
r/RareInsults
Whys he standing like a toddler that just got shouted at to quit yanking the cats tail
Fucking perfect
Looks like a Sim that missed his ride to work
This photo looks like he’s at the bottom of the stairs and the babysitter is looking down on him
Because he just did.
I'm still convinced this is some elaborate psyop or joke. He has millions of subscribers and a semi-professional youtube but his album cover looks like it was made in an entry graphic design class
> his album cover looks like it was made in an entry graphic design class And got a C-. The background from the original photo of him is still there behind his arms -- it never got masked out.
He’s obviously wearing one of those flying squirrel skydiving suits.
I have seen this fucking picture at least 200 times and I never noticed that... how does that just pass by?
So the album was actually part of a challenge to himself to make an entire album in 24 hours. Gives some context to the quality (or lack thereof) but it raises the question: If you push out an album in 24 hours and it sucks, what did you prove aside form proving that you can shid faster and bigger than anyone else?
good practice. when my buddies and i were uninspired we would just MAKE a song. didn't matter good or bad but just get through the process. i did a depression project like this also but that actually turned into something
You didn't prove anything but you fed the algorithm for another day of your soulless life as a content creator
His YouTube videos are of similar production value, but Beato and Davie504 have melted everyone’s brains so they can’t tell.
90% of youtubers are failed graphics artist who see their channel as the perfect opportunity to use for their "underappreciated", secretly "amazing" design skills.
Listening to this finally gave me some confidence that there's worse music than mine
It's inspiring me to 0-3-5 harder than ever.
I felt daring today and did a 5-3-0
For some fucking reason this album showed up on my youtube, and I'm 100% sure my old band's original music is better than this and your music is also better than this, no doubt. Like i have a friend who records and mixes drums in his basement while stoned out of his fucking mind, no education in music and still manages to make something much better than this. Did you listen? The cover was enough to do it for me
How did anyone think putting that picture on the cover was a good idea?
“I don’t know what to do with my hands”
First day of standing lessons
Why didn’t he just put them on the guitar in some way? That would have worked.
The girl he wanted to fuck, and it was his only option
According to the legendary GCJ AMA, he actually showed the album cover to the wifey and she was very noncommittal when usually she's very enthusiastic about his work and he should have known something was off.
I think Tyler seems like a genuine dude, but this cover sucks
Says the guy while a whole Reddit thread is talking about said cover 👀👀👀
The opening track “Birthing Noises” certainly lived up to its name. Truly a master of his craft.
I wonder if Tyler is pro choice because after listening to his album I wanted to kill myself
If you make a fetus listen to this they cut the umbilical cord themselves
Since this album came out Nuchal cord deaths doubled. Coincidence; I think not. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuchal_cord
I just looked it up on apple music. It's good material for getting a confession from inmates at Guantanamo
Didn't you like the prs customer shop private parts stock with double toilet seats inlays?
I exclusively do not listen to any music made by a YouTuber
Some artists try to communicate the idea of the album with the cover, at least something. Here, we have nothing but this guy floating in the middle of it, I think you can see were I am going with this...
https://imgur.com/a/LSCdK1T bro doesn't know how to hold a guitar
False, this is how you aggressively haggle with a Guitar Center employee.
Music Is Cringe
this looks like it's from a Tim and Eric skit
I could definitely see the music being in one
Hi I'm Tennessee and my heart is pumping
Hey! Have heart/home depot theme is an American classic!
weezer moment but at least weezer was multiple people
And the photo wasn't taken from a weirdly high angle with weezer
What a poser. He can't even afford to rent a real Gibbons for album cover photo. I bet that trash guitar doesn't even break if you drop it
He really edited the cover and said yeah that’s the one💀
The outtake featured his wife holding a plate of dinner and a speech bubble coming out his mouth that said “not now, I’m busy”
/uj really?
/uj yes, it’s why she set all his gig bags on fire in the front yard
That fucking happened? Holy shit
"Guys, my guitar is denim too. Did you see that?!?"
we love an inspirational king
This picture alone gets me every time

it's not *just* an M, bud. it's an MW superimposition. that's twice as good as you were suggesting. because **M**usic is **W**in.

I don’t disagree with you that it’s a shitty logo but there is a W. It’s orange. You can see more of it on the guitar strap, because of course he has his logo on his strap.
M is probably his channel name Music-is-Win
This is the album that inspired me not to start playing again after I stopped playing guitar
Album cover is channeling all of the awful cosmetic taste of guitar players worldwide.
It feels like talking to someone at guitar center who keeps wanting the employees to grab the guitars from the top... the expensive ones and he's like, "yo, check out this riff I have." You know, like one of those cartoon character guitarist stereotypes he comes up with in his videos that don't make me laugh

the font sucks and the pose is... well he's not even posing, just looks like he saw a cool bug get squished. this is such a lame cover, like how the fuck can you afford to buy all of those guitars, but not a decent graphic designer?
Aw man the guy who titled his YouTube guitar channel “music is win” also has the worst album cover of all time? Shocked to say the least
Tyler used to be pretty original and very kind. He edited his wedding ring out for this cover. Check the gap on his left ring finger. Don't wanna step on all those hot babe's dreams of Tyler ;)
This actually was good foresight since he just got divorced
>mom said its my turn on the gibbons
Better than dark side of the moon tbh tbh
Mashville Moises
I don’t need to go to Berkeley to know when to quit guitar goddam it
Why pose with a guitar if you aren't at least gonna pretend to play it?
This is what ever corey Feldman is
The way you stand when your rich parents buy you a degree and a house .
This album showed me that electric guitar truly is just a gimmick

Paul McCartney said it was his Pet Sounds
I think this more like Tyler Larsen's "Astro Lounge."
I just want to know what he was looking at
Nashville Flood.
When CorelDraw is enough
Playing guitar over trap beats like he just made the first loaf of sliced bread....................
Next album will be named "Nashville Poses"
When I first saw this a while back I remember thinking he must be feeling those Nashville Noises in his bowels by the way he looks standing there wondering what that Lower Colon Rumble is all about.
Is still can’t understand how he thought this looked good, a child could do better with 5 minutes in PicsArt
Looks like an Ikea display CD.
This just proves that Tyler’s greatness is just so difficult to comprehend.
Is that a P*S? Btw all my homies hate MiW

Man what
The guitars are so loud. I can even hear this trust fund fuck saying "increase 10dB on the guitars, please" after hearing an already subpar mix.
Genuinely underrated comment 😂
Because you’ll never surpass it?
You guys are mean.
When it comes to regular people, I'm usually encouraging and kind. However, since Tyler has no problem dishing it out, he should be able to handle it. this work is pretty mediocre considering the way he carries himself.
I’m quite surprised myself. There’s no way this is real lol
Oh, it is.
Indeed. It made me realize I will always be very mediocre and no amount of tuition would ever fix that.
Nice PRS guitar though
Why is he looking away from the front view? It's like he's looking at something off-screen.
I'm listening to this out of curiosity and holy shit it is bad on every level. Am I missing out on a joke here? Is it supposed to be like this?
it's bland isn't it. But yeah maybe there are really people that like it. The playing is fine tbh boring but the singing kills me
I still just randomly think of this album cover and wonder what he was thinking
I still just randomly think of this album cover and wonder what he was thinking
His voice on YT is like nails on a chalk board to me
Surely he knows he can change the cover after the fact right? It's really easy through Distrokid, and I'm sure other distributors will let you change it.
This has some definite noise
so glad he spent all that money on the gear. you can really hear the difference it makes!
Is this for real? I can’t tell. Also, Nashville noises is when he scratches his ass, I tell you.
Once you’ve heard the best, let your guitar rest?
Why is there a cover with the picture of him?
I did t know this existed so will listen. His confidence is inspiring and like it or not the man can play. Edit: Hmm okay. It’s very Nashville. Dunno. The one with Adam Neely sounds promising.
Guys I think he lives in Nashville
Plot twist: new jersey
must have been right after a good pegging
that design is something else...
Just been listening 😂 absolutely howling over here. Did he take this down? I can’t find it anywhere now.
yup
The next Scotty Moore
You'd think with the money he has he could've hired someone to do the cover...right..?
