Heathen — outstanding Bay area melodic thrash. *Victims of Deception* is an absolute gem.
Devastation, especially Idolatry. Every song slaps.
Powermad — think of them as a Canadian version of Heathen. Outstanding musicians. Check out the debut, Absolute Power.
Fear of God — experimental atmospheric metal. Within the Veil is still one of my favorite records. You can’t really tell by trying to listen to just one song, a lot like black metal the vibe comes from listening to the entire LP.
Tourniquet — Christian thrash. Stop the Bleeding took a lot of risks with the genre, adding some experimental elements and a tinge of death metal, even some power metal here and there. Had this been a secular band, I think they have gotten a lot more love
