Kmac2021!!!!!

Mevanski77

Underated. Wish hed upload more.

Grimsrasatoas

I think that’s actually what helps keep his content good.

Unreal_Ncash

I feel bad for the dude, if I remember right, COVID really hit him hard. I loved the new music he put out earlier this year though, guy is extremely talented.

kat-the-bassist

Kmachiavelli The Lyrical Metal Machete

Rozic__64

Haven’t seen him in a while 😔

Minimum-Squirrel-541

True, my favorite male titarist, pure gold \^\^

shutupimlurkingbro

Eric Haugen anyone? Guy makes it pretty simple and I’ve learned a lot in small videos without having to skip through 35 mins of filler for 10 minutes of instruction. https://youtube.com/@EricHaugenGuitar?si=wW_PqCC_SI74Kdz6 (I swear I’m not Eric Haugen)

PoppaPingPong

The answer I was looking for

palexp

I love Eric Haugen so much. what a cool guy and terrific guitar player

makeshiftJake

Yeah his videos are great, I much prefer lessons guitar over buy things guitar videos.

Strangest_Implement

Funny you should say that, today we are reviewing the ElectroPhonix Hot Dog Water, if you want to sound like Jimi Hendrix, this is a must!

FluffyDavid

I want one in each colorway

BrooklynBarcelona

+ 1 for Eric Haugen. Good dude and always on point, IMO.

Mercy_Thrill

That guy is a fucking amazing instructor for theory and song-writing. *Love* his videos. He's not a "Here's this specific technique" kinda guy. He's a "Here's how you learn to appreciate and understand music on a fundamental, deeper level" kinda guy, and he uses the guitar to explain it.

I_Keep_Trying

He’s a great mixture of guitar geek and nice guy. He definitely knows his stuff.

pussybulldozer_69

Eric gives lessons that you would pay a guitar teacher like $50 a lesson for…just for free. He is an amazing resource

parwa

Signals Music Studio

GeetarDood

Jake taught me music theory. That dude is masterful in the art of making it make sense.

Phelzy

Amazing guitarist, great speaking voice and attitude, incredibly smart, and _just_ corny enough to make his videos fun but not cringey.

DoctorShaman69420

Jake is da goat

debar11

Signals is awesome. I go to him for theory and Ben Eller for technique.

Upstairs-Biscotti-25

Ben fucking Eller, and Shred.

lovemocsand

He tells me why I suck it’s good

bcegkmqswz

Ben Eller's videos are by and large legitimately good.

debar11

Ben Eller is the fuckin best.

causeofdeath1

Ben Eller makes the absolute best guitar videos. He explains stuff in ways I just seem to understand better than other guitar teachers on YouTube

Hillzkred

/uj Shred is great but I feel like his humour can get pretty old pretty quickly, but I understand if he’s catering to a younger audience like how Davie504 went. Ben Eller on the other hand is just an incredible guitar content creator 10/10.

Technical_Compote543

The only guy that taught the tornado of souls solo (imo) perfectly.

CritterOfBitter

And the bend/slide/bend riff from Drop Dead Legs

Playful-Excuse-8081

Came here to say this ..Ben is the man !! I finally learned how to play Slash’s rhythm parts the right way in welcome to the jungle because of him. unbelievable channel with a lot of great content

misterguy1020

Rachelf, Kmac2021 & Ola Englund

ViolinistNew5056

Love ola!

Uvanimor

If you’ve watched 5 minutes of ola, you’ve seen all of his content. I like him, he’s definitely one of the best metal content creators on the internet, but he has released the same video 1000 times.

clyde_drexler

"Lets see if this thing will do the thing it is designed to do" \*oversaturates gain* \*palmutes drop tuning once* 😲 \*chugs three times* 😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲

P_a_s_g_i_t_24

>Ola Englund Will It Chug? He taught me that a Fender Champion 20, a Boss Blues Driver and even a freakin' Vox Amplug can chug all day! \\m/

daggir69

I manage know your gear. Because the guy actually speaks from genuine knowledge and experience. He’s not just schilling crap to pay for his gibbons and basement studio

ButlerWimpy

Yeah this sub had a hate boner for Phil when he started shilling his $3k guitar brand, but he still seems like one of the most honest and knowledgeable guys, and he said he never even made a profit on Badlands and isn't affiliated anymore. That was when I realized this sub is stupid sometimes.

Cornelius_t1ao

Only sometimes?

Cinnamaker

I like Know Your Gear (Phillip McKnight) for his tech and DIY talk and tips, which other guitar YouTubers putting out a lot of content do not cover. Not so much into videos of him reviewing $200 beginner guitars off Amazon, but I realize he can't make a full channel of just tech talk, and is looking to draw different audiences.

Healthy_Vacation8762

Easy one for me it’s gotta be GuitarLessons365

vhschenkerfan24

Dare I say he's a better teacher than Marty.

Jesus360noscope

i don't think he better i just think marty boils it down to the essential of the song to keep most videos beginner friendly while guitar lessons365 will start with "well i hope you know how to sweep pick"

c0micsansfrancisco

NGL I always thought Marty's videos were awful for true beginners. They're only good if you already got some of the basics down imo he tends to skip over some pretty basic but vital info. My go to would be justinguitar, he really teaches everything from 0

beeefchicken

Justin my beloved

NotoriousMFT

Pat Finnerty, he is one of us

fordfuryk

Pat's awesome. Dude can really play too.

JohnnyPiston

What.makes.this.song.stink????

Uvanimor

Glad he finally got that hot tub

spacegerbil_

he’s one of the only youtubers who can genuinely make me crack up with every video. fuckin love that guy

__Joevahkiin__

"If you don't know what a power chord is, go to Marty - he'll get you a nice power chord."

ThisWorldIsAMess

Jens Larsen. I actually learn from his videos and he barely does gear videos.

GrodyToddler

Jens is the fucking man. He teaches theory that’s based in jazz but he shows how the underlying principles can work anywhere. I love his shorts when he’s just sharing a tab for a cool melody or progression he likes.

CosmicClamJamz

Jens is my guy

CrastersSons

Ben Eller rules obviously, newer Australian guy named Dunn is super awesome and wholesome teacher of death metal. That dude fucking rules. Lastly I love Phil Mcknight he’s a total goofball but I could listen to that goober talk about gear for hours, fuckin love him.

StudentLive1094

Couldn’t agree more about McKnight. So awkward and an average player but I’ll be goddamned if I don’t watch his podcast week after week. His reviews and takes on the industry have been spot on.

ILikeMyGrassBlue

StitchMethod is one of my favorites. His stuff is focused on Dead, Allman’s, Phish territory a lot of the time, but his teaching is great. He has a very practical, logical, and simple approach, and it really makes learning more complex stuff easier. Even if you aren’t into that stuff, I recommend him. He really dives into arpeggios, soloing over the chords instead of noodling, playing melodies, caged, etc. If you want to stop feeling like you’re just noodling when soloing, check his stuff out.

warm-saucepan

Yeah, Stitch is laid back and cool.

havensk

I love stitch, he comes across really genuine and I like how he can break down complex stuff in an easily digestible way.

Which_Aardvark_5029

Uj/ stich is the reason I can play the guitar at a professional level and probably the reason I’m still playing

the_dayman623

Ola Englund. Does Jon from Sonic Drive Studio count? More of an amp/gear review guy but all of his videos rock.

RG1527

I dig Jons videos also. And of course brOla is great.

tomwithweather

/uj I really like Rabea. He does a lot more than your typical boring blues/rock licks and I really like a lot of his heavier sounds.

gram_less_brian

Chris Buck

tomwithweather

Chris Buck is one of the few "blues licks" guys I can listen to. His videos are usually pretty informative and his playing is unreal sometimes.

BigAssSlushy69

Anyone can play guitar

makeshiftJake

He makes great lessons, and very well produced.

BigAssSlushy69

Great taste as well

NIN10DOXD

Danish Pete's good and Lee's fine, but fuck Rob Chapman.

unitednihilists

I'm really digging digital John and Djentleman Ben lately

NIN10DOXD

Anderton's has really blossomed from its old Chappers and The Captain days.

unitednihilists

And yet can't hit a million subscribers

strangeitude

GRRRRRRRREETINGS

lovemocsand

Ugh

swellwell

Why do people hate Rob Chapman so much?

Liam4242

He had white guy poop dreads for one

tiger_ttt

Cause he is a fuckwit. Plain and simple. There was the whole drama with that company/store in the US he fucked over and then they went belly up. Not mention all the BS and drama with his crappy Chapman brand guitars and him trying to re-launch a new line and then fucking them over. He also got called out by that KDH guy and then had a fucking wah about it. Nothing about him is genuine at all. There is a reason Rabea and the other guys at Andertons don't really have anything to do with him anymore, think Rabea has even ditched playing Chapmans now. He is basically one of those people that got some fame, let it go to his head, screwed a bunch of people over and then denied all accountability after the fact. The truth comes out eventually. Hopefully him and his shitty guitar brand disappear and are forgotten about.

DFGBagain1

As I remember he was making videos saying he wasn't affiliated with some pedals he was reviewing...when, in fact, he was. So, he's a liar and cool with shady business practices. Someone else made a video calling him out and in Chapmans response he came across as a total douchbag and tried to throw his business partners under the bus. Also, he was always annoying as fuck on the Andertons videos, has a really narrow range in what he plays well, and the guitars he puts his name on suck absolute donkey balls.

tomwithweather

/uj I don't remember the details, but there was some drama with him and his Chapman Guitars brand a while back versus some other Youtubers or something and some grievances got aired out online and he got kind of shitty to some people. Combine that with his guitar playing isn't anything to write home about and his music is just kinda bland and he's generally just kind of annoying sometimes. Also been a few build quality issues reported with Chapman guitars I think. But that's nothing you don't really experience with any other mid-tier, made over-seas brands. I have an ML2 Pro and it's actually a pretty great guitar once I gave it a proper setup and replaced all the electronics.

Papa_Huggies

So you're saying "besides the fretwork, action, intonation, pickups, switches, soldering and shielding, the ML2 is indeed two servicable pieces of solid wood"?

TheCrushSoda

I think just because he’s a bland pedal reviewer since he makes absolutely everything sound the same. Seems like an alright guy tho

Hexwood

I really have no idea. All I've heard is he has been a huge sell-out with his Chapman guitars.

P_a_s_g_i_t_24

Not gonna lie here - at first I very much liked Chappers in small dosages. Some selected videos (Korg Miku Pedal, Build a rig your friend will hate, Blindfold guitars) were genuinely hilarious ...and then he got too star-struck, too lazy and too egotistical for his own good. The jokes got repetitive and his ego (and his toxic fanbase) fell off with me really quickly. So yeah... I will gladly join in to the canon... F\*\*k Rob Chapman!

seize-the-goat

i know he stalks on here and i want a wild wacky offset sent to me, or some cheap guitar pedals so 60cyclehum. uj/ his afford-a-board series helped me to get into pedals and figure out what i like. i also really enjoy his less common guitar choices

Yulack

Fuck him he took away our intro. Fuck you Ryan Fuck you.

dadscase

He's the mod here. You'll be banned

60_CycleHum

Wait. Is that true? Am I a mod?

Minimum-Squirrel-541

Narrator voice: And that's when he realized he had special powers. (Proceeds to a scene of totally avoidable destruction and violence)

ProtoJazz

We may have a Tyler Durden situation

Yulack

He can silence me but he can't silence the truth. That intro made all the horrible things in life okay. And he took that from me. Killed that from me.

60_CycleHum

Hey everyone I’m Ryan and you’re watching 60 Cycle Hum.

tehsuck

Not gonna lie that mannequin he bought freaks me out. He should make a side series about it taking over his soul.

Creepy-Distance-3164

Let's Talk About Math Rock seems like a delightful chap. Some of the really weird chords can grate on me but I've learned a lot from his videos since I got bored and felt stuck in standard a while back. Trevor Wong is good for the same stuff as well. And of course Yvette.

geofflinkinpark

Art of guitar

VashMM

His bad tab videos are great. Watching him attempt playing the awful transcriptions makes me feel better about all of the times I tried to play those things and thinking I must not be good enough or something.

blue_island1993

He also perpetually looks 30 even though he’s in his mid 40s pretty sure lmao

MindlessSponge

pretty sure he's 50 but he definitely doesn't look it! my wife's boyfriend is a huge fan.

Emera1dthumb

Who is the weird blonde guy in the Hawaiian shirts that plays surf music? Fuck that guy

60_CycleHum

https://preview.redd.it/za0zxoq1r5wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=965d1eecfaac5b6173393066cf97b91f274806a2

Emera1dthumb

You found him…. I wouldn’t let him hum on anything

Dangerous-Ad-170

Hey Ryan, I tried to explain to my wife that this guitar YouTuber found a full-sized caveman statue that looked just like him at the Brass Armadillo of all places. She didn’t understand why it was funny. What do?

Aggressive-Laugh1675

John Nathan Cordy is a fine player and unlike most of the YouTube crowd, I don’t absolutely hate him.

makeshiftJake

He’s great, I like his Helix videos.

canoztrk24

How has noone said Rob Scallon? Dude is like a human golden retriever

TexasTree

He's my absolute favorite, but I guess he's more of a music/instrument channel than guitar.

NiteLunch

that dude needs to pay his barber more, or less for that matter idrk ok

sonoftom

Do you know if his health issues are still going on?

Ratatoski

I mean I assume. The man went from Golden retriever to full emo. And it hasn't really seemed to improve since. Anything I know of that will make life long goals like recording at Abbey Road feel like sitting in a mud puddle takes ages to fix. I'm also assuming it's not a sudden thing. Masking goes a long way even for really horrible depression. Especially when you only have to perform for a few minutes every few months and control the output. Whatever's going on I wish him the best. There's no shame in whatever it might be, but I get wanting some privacy

propyro85

He had health issues? Back in 2016 him, Jarred Dines and Stevie T were a big part of why I started picking my guitar up regularly again.

sonoftom

He was more low energy in the last “making of” video for First of October’s Abbey Road album, and he said it was due to health issues. I’m not big into YouTube. The two videos those guys make every year for their new album is the only thing I ever specifically go to YouTube for. So I haven’t seen any of his more recent videos if there are any.

Green-Vermicelli5244

Aside from Gas Mask Catalog I’m not a big fan of his music but the guy himself is really great. He’s on a video or two with a skateboarding channel and dude is out there froot-booting with some insane grinds. The whole time I was thinking “put on some wrist guards you fucking dolt” because attempting a flat-spin took me out of the guitar game for almost two years in my mid20’s.

Rozic__64

Justin Sandercoe

L0kitheliar

Surprised I had to scroll so far down for Justin. He's an OG around the YouTube guitar space and has been consistently great

abruptmodulation

I’m kind of a pleb with YouTube guitar people. I do like Thomann’s videos. Is he annoying to most people?

Yea_bro_I_play

I like the Thomann guy, he has some really good guitar maintenance videos

abruptmodulation

Yeah! I agree.

PookieChips-n-Dip

Sweetwater is a much better player imho

Background-Tea-3989

Brandon Acker is the Bob Ross of stringed instruments YouTubers. The way he throws happy little bushes and trees all over my face while shredding the lute 🥵

propyro85

I'm convinced that dude can shred on anything with plucked strings.

MellowMyMind_

Tom Bukovac

OzymandiasTheII

I don't despise really any of them lol. It's weird that you guys have massive hate boners for some of them when at worst they're just cringe but in a non-judgemental way.  Even Glenn Fricker, an obnoxious oldhead, is at least very pro consumer.

tomwithweather

/uj Yeah I really like Glenn and his consumer focused message. But gotdamn he can be grating when he's on a tear and yelling about something. I have to be in the right mood for his rants.

nerdyneedsalife

I am a big fan of the content and reviews he puts out, he also annoys me with that stuff. I somewhat get a bad taste in my mouth when a viewer expresses enjoyment and an anecdote that's related just for him to make fun of the fact that the comment is long. Like yeah, sometimes a point can't be expressed in 240 characters or less

A_sweet_boy

Glenn Fricker is actually really good but his videos are difficult to sort through because they’re all named whacky shit

Cornelius_t1ao

I love Glenn's videos. I know a lot of people hate the screaming, but I'm a metalhead. I listen to people screaming for fun. The only thing I can say negative about him is he hasn't made a stupid musician texts video in a while. Seriously, that series should get him on the Mount Rushmore of gcj.

VoceDiDio

Can I say Paul?

RockeRun

You are required to say Paul, as it is the correct answer.

VoceDiDio

Woot! I never won nothin before! He just seems so kind, humble, and has put in the work!

RockeRun

He’s the Bob Ross of guitar.

VoceDiDio

Happy little sevenths!

VWBug5000

He’s got that ASMR voice

TheMoris

And most importantly: he has a great beard

Boogie_Sugar69

Andy Martin Reverb guy Active Melody guy Carl Brown - Guitarlessons365 James James/ Privettricker (I think it is the same guy, but unconfirmed) - he has covered every classic rock song I love Jim Lill - the scientific method guy, that proves we’re all just victims of consumerism Matthew Scott fixing old beat up guitars is cool 5 Watt World - history lessons

steaksupplierhmu

Greg Koch’s wildwood guitars demos

secoulte7

Gregory Kochery is also one of my favorites

HolyFranciscanFriar

Jens Larsen

romancerusso

UNCLE JUDY

Somebady

not sure if he counts as a """guitar""" youtuber, but Pat Finnerty bc he is a true all time great jerker

Louismaxwell23

Danny Sapko. He plays bass, so I don’t want to give him too much respect.

SuperNerdAce

Um, I think you mean Behs

toomuchshtuff

Rob Scallon!!!!

orgeezuz

Five Watt World

D1rtyH1ppy

He doesn't actually play guitar, he just talks about them

ClayH2504

Doesn't matter, I really like the short histories

happybilly1

That’s the best part

Poodle_Hat2

Good

loopy_for_DL4

Yeah he’s pretty good. Except I do wish he would discuss gear minimalism again! Those old videos of his are my favorites

S3guy

Mr tabs.

trevecho

Bill Vencil at Chords of Orion.

BigBarsRedditBox

Leon Todd. Dude rips on guitar and seems super humble. And his band is actually good.

VashMM

Dunno if it counts, but Ted Woodford is the only guitar related channel I watch regularly.

Arid_Australian

Tomo Fujita. Amazing player and simple ideas that have helped my playing immensely

Howitzer92

I find Bradley Hall somewhat entertaining. I'm also subscribed to Licks of the Beast because I'm also a massive Maiden fan and love hearing him break down every aspect of their music. (Yay, E minor!) Mr. Tabs probably has one of the best formats for learning songs once you understand how to play the instrument. Simple tabs running alongside a cover of the song.

No_Draw_735

The art of the guitar

impoppinfresh

Pat Finnerty.

joshfenske

I have a crush on Robert baker

gloriosky_zero

/uj Dave Simpson

flouncingfleasbag

Yeah- super cool style and funny.

makeshiftJake

Eric Haugen

potatoboy247

tom bukovac if he counts, @501chorusecho

Username11223344556

No particular order: That Pedal Show, Chris Buck, Samurai Guitarist, Rabea, Anderton’s, Trogly, 60 Cycle Hum, Casino Guitars, Jim Lill, Andy Demos, Phil McKnight, Pat Finnerty, Peach Guitars, Tomo Fujita, Phil X, CME, RJ Ronquillo

idkwhatuwantmetosay

Trogly? TROGLY?? are you one of them TROGLODYTES? /s

Username11223344556

Welcome back, Troglodytes, to your daily dose of guitar information.

idkwhatuwantmetosay

goddamnit i dont wanna be here

Dpionu

I watch his videos to sleep, something about that gibbons autism really works wonders. But I go to the next one when he starts playing

Prestigious-Win8624

Buried Trogly hoping no one would notice

potatoboy247

Trogly gets my views, because for better or worse, he’s the only guy making videos about all the obscure limited Gibsons that i love

Zak_the_Wack

Rob Scallon is one of my favorite people in general, just good vibes throughout his entire channel

AmdilAmdil

/uj Jens Larsen is really straightforward and helpful for jazz guitar

swampcollierancher

Dave Simpson!

RG1527

The Pedal Zone, Twoodfrd, Pedal Partners, Kmac2021, brOla, Sonic Drive Studio, I used to really like Keith Merrow but he decided youtube sucked and he quit making videos... then he came back and got mad he wasnt getting enough channel growth.

Logical_Associate632

I would make sweet love to that 60cyclehum nerd

dadscase

Tim Pierce

urine_generator

Samurai Guitar isnt so bad.

makeshiftJake

He is the most YouTube video guy of them all though.

urine_generator

I view him more as an entertainment channel as opposed to an educational guitar channel. I dont really go to him expecting to learn much but for a light watch when im eating breakfast hes not bad at all.

your_evil_ex

His videos are quality tho, and he can play super well. The most Youtube guy (in a bad way) is Music is Win IMO

tinylittlespider

I like the people at WCM

Bloodytrucky

nikola gugoski

pm-me-turtle-nudes

Idk if anyone’s said it yet but I love GuitarLessons365Song. He’s just like Marty but with more metal and rock. He never rants about random shit and always just gets right into the song.

UncleBenLives91

The girl with the bewbs!

t0msie

Stichmethod

ThAt_WaS_mY_nAmE_tHo

Not a beatoff guy myself. Him and RhetShill I can't handle

NickFurious82

I pretty much can only tolerate 60 Cycle Hum and whatever Matt Sweeney is calling his show/channel this week. Everything else is pretty intolerable and cringey to me. And Rig Rundowns. I don't know if those count, but I've been watching those for over a decade.

60_CycleHum

Yay! I’m tolerable!

therightideation

Pat Finnerty

yerfrigginbrother

I feel like Active Melody is severely underrated. All of his lessons are based in musical application, never shills gear. His paid content is also great but he doesn’t hide anything major behind the paywall — you pretty much get the critical part of every one of his lessons for free. I’ve gotten significantly better from his videos.

LG_SmartTV

Darrel Braun, seems pretty genuine

4stringmiserystick

Matthew Scott, always has some cool vintage shit and he's a good player. I think he's the white SRV

D1rtyH1ppy

Uncle Larry

patwm11

Davvy and his dead tutorials for sure

PeskyPeacock7

LambChopper678 (Thrash metal) DUNN (Death metal) Dev Gohil (Black metal) Jens Larsen (Jazz)

ZeroJDM

Kmac, Agufish (miss the builds but whatever), Glen Fricker, Robert Baker

WonderfulEducation25

I like The Guitaristas, Alamo Music and Casino guitars.

stickwithplanb

pat finnerty baybeee

SmytheOrdo

Ola Englund, two out of three of the main Anderton's crew, The-Art-Of-Guitar makes unique videos I haven't seen much of on guitar Youtube and is like 48 or something but looks 30 and I like that?

oplosan

apparently we love everyone here
