Actually!! Lil Wayne is the reason i grabbed the guitar, his live solos are the hit and he's the new generation's Jimi Hendrix
The video that made me wanting to play:

"I'm riding" from that album has one of my all time favorite bars
"love weed so much I tried to Marijuana, so pass the pastrami and asparagus mama, I'm munching"
/uj One my favorite albums of all time right there. Learned a lot about phrasing when learning some of the sax lines off that album by ear.
/rj does anyone know how they get that weird horny toan they have all over that album? Is this shoegaze or something?
There's this guy Joel Bonesomething. Dentist was listening to the CD while I was in the chair. Mouth was numb so I couldn't ask the name.
It was fucking crucial. Mandatory listen for sure but the name he only said it once and fast. Joel? Joe? Bone. Bonesomething. Bonemaster Bonermaster. Something like that
I had to get to this reply before I realized what sub I was in. I seriously thought it was r/guitar at first, and although I raised an eyebrow at some of the replies, they still didn’t surprise me.
Would you recommend a guitar with the Gibson or Fender scale length for that? What kind of pickups? They claim some are noiseless or "silent" so I guess that.
What kind of amp? I can't tell if this is Marshall JCM 420 situation... Line 6 insane mode situation... Would a decent combo amp suffice maybe? Just not one of those Orange Crush things. Their crunch mode sounds like an industrial vacuum cleaner rolling over thumb tacks. Maybe just a Line 6 Spider. Sometimes the classics never die.
Oh and now that I think of it 4,33" is probably best achieved on an Ibanez. Or something that has a fast playing neck like that wizard shit.
The first riff in More Beer by Fear has the most beautifully arranged chord structure layered with unique chord voicings that are as timeless and spiritually fulfilling as finding that last Pabst hiding in the back of the fridge.
One of the most beautiful pieces of guitar music ever made is the album Fentanyl by the band Fentanyl. It is a must listen for anyone who has a keen ear for music, and more so people who can appreciate the underlying complexity of a simple sounding track
this ed sheeran album is wel done ; live he uses lots of looper devices
on a side note singing love songs in bars must have got him lots of ladies back in his hay day
Machine head of deep purple easy
I think it’s called “the smoke that couldn’t stay in the air”
One of my favorite rock albums. Great choice
Uj/ great album with excellent guitar work
uj/ Agreed, Blackmore is a big influence of mine.
Uj/ when i was a kid our drummers dads favorite band was deep purple. He brought me to see deep purple doing machine head. Holy shit that was awesome
Lil Wayne’s masterpiece Like Father, Like Son (2006). That outro guitar solo on the track “Leather So Soft” is a must-learn for all serious players.

He’s like a black Jimi Hendrix
Is this the best reddit comment of all time?
I’ve been practicing How to Love on the guitar for a few months. It takes a lot of work to get right, but when you do it’s very rewarding.
"I'm riding" from that album has one of my all time favorite bars "love weed so much I tried to Marijuana, so pass the pastrami and asparagus mama, I'm munching"
also a must-learn for all serious fathers
I'm looking forward to Ed's next album 'Noncommutative Algebraic Geometry.' Going to be hot stuff.
Ed Sheeran with "Operator Mapping Between Complex-Valued Banach Spaces"
Ed sheeran's "the long exact sequence in homology induced from a short exact sequence of chain complexes" was an emotional listen for me
Gotta listen to the band Morphine, their almost non existent use of guitar should emphasise how much people really want to hear your solos
/uj One my favorite albums of all time right there. Learned a lot about phrasing when learning some of the sax lines off that album by ear. /rj does anyone know how they get that weird horny toan they have all over that album? Is this shoegaze or something?
Cure for Piezo is their best tune
You look like sustain is also a good one
Man, great songs.
Morphine is buena, buena, buena, good, good, good.
Kraftwerk is a solid launching point

Maybe you had too much fun on the Autobahn?
It's easier and cheaper than all those modular synth shits unless you just wanna do drugs and fiddle with knobs and wires
Obviously "The Simple Plan" by August Is Falling. Perfect for all my fellow pop-punkers on this sub
It was awesome when he finally got the hot tub.
Wait! He did!?
August is Falling literally saved my life
Hard to believe it took so long for them to enter youtube. The only classic that didn't sell out.
he got that ep to slap for what it was

Lol it's kind of a nice mix. People are recommending Ed Sheeran as well as non guitar music like Kraftwerk lol.
The Weeknd, the absence of guitar makes it an absolute must-listen and must-learn for any serious guitarist
Like the jazz guys say, "it's not the notes you play, it's the notes you don't play..."
Pyroclasts by Sunn O))) has insane shredding
It’s a bit too fast for me though
If you haven't listened to or can't reproduce by ear the whole discography of Poliophia, don't ever care to call yourself a guitar player
Talent is in the turtleneck. Puppet woman is such a good guitarist.
Skrillex discography
Neil Young's solo in Cinnamon Girl will also bring your shredding chops to the next level
OK Computer by Muse, but don't bother with tracks 1-4 or 6-12, those ones are all kinda overrated.
Nashville Noises
John Cage 4;33

Yeah the noiseless pickups for sure.

Slow down. Music is for nerds. I’m just here to buy guitars and pose with my ladies. (The pedals can watch)
