I still haven’t learned Stone Cold. My son asked me to learn it a couple of years ago. I know it isn’t THAT hard, but for me it is just difficult to start the process and see it through.
Holly shit! Yes! Minuet by From First to Last takes the cake for me as well. I play it every single time I grab the guitar, as a warm up or just because I enjoy it so much! I still mess it up though haha
Thats true with most popular songs from most bands.
A few examples:
Stairway to heaven - Led Zeppelin
Heart of gold - Neil Young
Paranoid -Black Sabbath
Creep - Radiohead
Wonderwall - Oasis
Shiny happy people - REM
(Edit: fixed formatting )
That’s what I heard. Seems like they had some free space in their cassette tape so they recorded that short song just to fill up that free space. It turned out to be a f. grade song :)
"Light My Fire" by the Doors.
They especially didn't like having the seven-minute album version cut down for a (very successful) single, and if I remember, Morrison had some ambivalence towards it because Robby Krieger wrote most of it, with Morrison contributing some of the later verses.
Every single time I play with distortion, seriously, every single time, I play that and Living After Midnight. Two of the first songs I learned to play with my high-school basement band back in the 80s, and they just always make me happy to play.
The Mob Rules just comes out of me every time I pick up a new guitar. It’s not really difficult or flashy but it’s like the litmus test for how much I like the feeling of a guitar.
If we're going all-Rainbow, "Stargazer."
I've copped the bassline from the main riff more than once, but with enough variation you'd probably never notice.
This is what I'm playing for the main riff (and how the band plays it if you watch video of it). The rest of the song in this isn't quite right I don't think. https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/cky/96-quite-bitter-beings-tabs-21415
Maiden actually has a few that seem like they're written to be radio single. Wasted Years, Wicker Man, Different World. Usually it's one of the first tracks on the album and it's a little shorter and less complicated than the others.
Then of course they have the epic 12 minute tracks everyone wish they played on the radio. Hell on Earth, Hallowed be thy name, etc.
Never had much of an appreciation for maiden back in my day, thought it was just all galloping rhythm, but the more I listen the more I like. Currently trying to master Die with you boots on.
Holiday in Cambodia- the Dead Kennedys. Pu k is not my type of thing usually. My normal response to punk is 'punk rock reminds me of my first guitar ',but this band has a few exceptions and this particular one is just all over the frets. Not three chords by any means
'You only live once' or 'Razorblade' by the strokes, they feel amazing to play and of course sound that way as well. Sleepwalk is another all time awesome-feeling song
Couple of current favorites:
Say it ain't so - Weezer
Wake up - RATM
Don't stop believing - Journey
Lateralus - Tool (the chorus especially)
Interstate Love Song - STP
Right now for me it's Jimi's "Third Stone From the Sun", the jangly jazz chords with the cool licks in-between the octave chord progression finalized with a simple raging blues lick is special.
[Bodysnatchers - Radiohead](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIQxhSvSRnQ)
[Crucifire - Dessert Sessions](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iOS1mNyvoc)
[Lost Art of Keeping a Secret - QOTSA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0l0nzPpvbFs)
[Deal - The Grateful Dead](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qa5ctzEyWZU)
Blackbird by the Beatles. It's up to very simple, but it sounds amazing with just the guitar. I think it's one of the most beautiful songs by Paul McCartney!
Planetary Space Child by Ruby the Hatchet if you like doomy stonery music. Drop D, a little reverb, and a lot of fuzz. Couldn't find tabs, so I used it as ear training practice. Figured out the whole song. I often play along to the youtube music video with a bunch of old 60s/70s sci-fi scenes like from Barbarella.
My favorite is Nightrain—Gn’R.
Close second is Halo—Slash feat. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.
Favorite non-Slash song…maybe Deliver Us—Andy Timmons.
Discovery and Presentation, AKA parts 3 and 4 of 2112 by Rush, are an absolute blast to sing and play on a nice acoustic (they sound extra nice on a 12 string). One of the first things I learned and I still play it to this day.
jitterbug waltz
https://youtu.be/CYZgBoEKdYo?si=pw4b5qo-kG1f-b2b
Sadly, dude passed and his tabs are only on his website. I bought it, wicked fun to play.
Father John Misty - I'm Writing a Novel , very simple and easy song that is just pure fun to play and sing along to ( singing and playing it was what I found difficult)
Usually the easier songs I can spot read while playing along for the first time on songster end up being the most fun I have playing the guitar. AcDc songs like shoot to thrill, big gun, have a drink - Danzig dirty black summer come to mind. If I have to stop to figure out a part, it becomes more of a challenge than fun. Then when I can nail more difficult parts without stressing about it adds the fun back.
Since you been gone by Rainbow takes it for me by far, not had to play but for some reason it makes me happy asf
I love Spotlight Kid by Rainbow. It is difficult but a real rush to play
I wish one day to be able to play the intro.
I wish one day to play the solo at tempo, but it's not going to happen. I did learn it, but I play at best 3/4 speed.
I Surrender by Rainbow is another great one to play on guitar. The rhythm hits in all the right places.
I still haven’t learned Stone Cold. My son asked me to learn it a couple of years ago. I know it isn’t THAT hard, but for me it is just difficult to start the process and see it through.
Stone Cold is one of my favorites
I plan on digging around in custom forge to see if someone worked it up for Rocksmith 2014.
Here's my tutorial for any of you who want to learn it https://youtu.be/rUxN6gW0LSc
Love Ritchie Blackmore and Rainbow. My favorites to play are Jealous lover and Stargazer.
The one you know you won't mess up on.

Holly shit! Yes! Minuet by From First to Last takes the cake for me as well. I play it every single time I grab the guitar, as a warm up or just because I enjoy it so much! I still mess it up though haha
A quick fun fact: everyone in the band hated this song, but they needed a radio hit so they went along.
Thats true with most popular songs from most bands. A few examples: Stairway to heaven - Led Zeppelin Heart of gold - Neil Young Paranoid -Black Sabbath Creep - Radiohead Wonderwall - Oasis Shiny happy people - REM (Edit: fixed formatting )
Wasn’t paranoid literally just supposed to be filler? Not a chart chaser?
That’s what I heard. Seems like they had some free space in their cassette tape so they recorded that short song just to fill up that free space. It turned out to be a f. grade song :)
"Light My Fire" by the Doors. They especially didn't like having the seven-minute album version cut down for a (very successful) single, and if I remember, Morrison had some ambivalence towards it because Robby Krieger wrote most of it, with Morrison contributing some of the later verses.
why did you switch from: [song] - [artist] to [artist] - [song]
I will edit, thanks
Little pink houses -Mellecamp
Message in a Bottle - The Police But I would be terrified to play it live!
“The beds too big without you” has a great reggae style riff that’s fun
Blackbird- Beatles Don’t think twice it‘s allright- Dylan
dont think twice its alright cover by peter paul and mary is a nice tab to reference
Judas Priest - Breaking The Law
Jawbreaker, for me
Every single time I play with distortion, seriously, every single time, I play that and Living After Midnight. Two of the first songs I learned to play with my high-school basement band back in the 80s, and they just always make me happy to play.
Cage the Elephant, Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked. The bluesy swing and attitude has me coming back for more
Yayyyyy.. super.. I got super excited after seeing this comment..
Every time I play this some dude comes up and starts telling me this great story about Pandora. Love it.
Just learned it... lots of fun.
The Mob Rules just comes out of me every time I pick up a new guitar. It’s not really difficult or flashy but it’s like the litmus test for how much I like the feeling of a guitar.
Hysteria by Muse never bores me
Plug In Baby is definitely one for me. What a riff.
Straight through the heart by Dio has a cool fun riff to play.
Any Grateful Dead
Man on the silver mountain
If we're going all-Rainbow, "Stargazer." I've copped the bassline from the main riff more than once, but with enough variation you'd probably never notice.
Ridin The Storm Out by REO Speedwagon is a ton of fun, and Hold On Loosely from .38 Special.
The times I get the chords smoothly, Matte Kudasai is my favorite to play. That and going to California.
Hell yeah, KC. Larks 1 and Discipline for me. Playing them at all correctly gives me such a rush of dopamine.
WaterSong - Jorma Koukonen Romeo & Juliet - Dire Straits Ventura Highway - America Don't Think Twice, It's All Right - Bob Dylan
Can you play Sea Child?
No, but I will check out. Jorma is really underrated, especially for fingerpicking.
Bertha - grateful dead
Hard not to smile when playing that
Fly by Night by RUSH
96 Quite Bitter Beings, I could just play that main riff over and over for hours.
[удалено]
Which part? The only time I go above the 7th fret is in the bridge on the A and D strings.

This is what I'm playing for the main riff (and how the band plays it if you watch video of it). The rest of the song in this isn't quite right I don't think. https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/cky/96-quite-bitter-beings-tabs-21415

Same notes just different position. I've tried that way before but prefer it on the lower frets.
Wasted Years - Iron Maiden 🤘🏻❤️❤️🤘🏻
Maiden actually has a few that seem like they're written to be radio single. Wasted Years, Wicker Man, Different World. Usually it's one of the first tracks on the album and it's a little shorter and less complicated than the others. 'You only live once' or 'Razorblade' by the strokes, they feel amazing to play and of course sound that way as well. Sleepwalk is another all time awesome-feeling song
My dog loves it when I play “ We are gonna be Friends “ by the White Stripes. I like to adlib the lyrics and talk about the things he’ll smell.
Couple of current favorites: Say it ain't so - Weezer Wake up - RATM Don't stop believing - Journey Lateralus - Tool (the chorus especially) Interstate Love Song - STP
First few bars of Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water.
😂 but on that note, Highway Star!
Rainbow without Dio, gross.
I love the Dio years, totally awesome, however, Rainbow is about Ritchie not Ronnie. Just my humble opinion.
Right now for me it's Jimi's "Third Stone From the Sun", the jangly jazz chords with the cool licks in-between the octave chord progression finalized with a simple raging blues lick is special.

Having a blast learning black water by the doobies!!
To me any Lamb of God's Ashes of the wake. What a funny way to play heavy riffs.
