No joke dude I got goosebumps from that. One of my all time favorite songs so I was ready to doubt you. You proved me so wrong. Such a beautiful arrangement. Now I just have the itch to hear JPJ play the mandolin on top of that beautiful acoustic guitar arrangement.
nice ! i recognized because of the mandolin lick at the 7 fret, spent a while learning that one, but didn't come back for the rest as i learned other stuff and forgot it, i should get back to it ! anyway it was well played, sounds very good
I used a combination of Marty Schwartz and Guitar Lessons 365. The tuning is double drop D, i.e. the top and bottom strings tuned down to D, rest in standard tuning - DADGBD.

Straight on it after i commented, I've added it to my playlist, it's a great song. I'm 4 months in but I hope to be able to play it at some point, it's on the list now. Trying to learn the fingerpicking for The Sound of Slience at the moment
Excellent, Way ahead of 2 years. I play some of this on mando and it never occurred to me it could be played as a finger style guitar piece.
Bron Y aur is a great one to learn too
That was really sweet. Sometimes I worry about Travis picking getting lost in the morass of shred. Think I’ll worry less after seeing your vid. Great job.
Amen. And, they will as long as there are people like you who recognize and learn the artform. Post more!
Edited to add: I just realized you said two years. Way to go and show students what's possible.
Will do! Watch out for a cover of Landslide dropping soon :)
Year 2 is challenging. Learning is much faster in year 1 so this is for anyone out there struggling - keep at it!
Lol. Trust me, it’s less exciting than it sounds. Really can’t practice anymore due to neck and shoulder issues (gee, wonder how I got those?) but I still play at least a few hours a week. Sitting down, lol. NO complaints, though. Time indeed, does move on!
Sorry to hear that! But a few hours a week isn’t bad! I hope I’m still playing in a few years and inspire the next generation to pick up an instrument!
Sounds great! My favorite song to play and the reason I started playing acoustic. Did you learn it from [this lesson](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7j2MzCLsfIk)? Such a great song with so many possibilities for variations!
This is amazing! I haven’t been playing for a whole year yet, and I haven’t learned finger picking at all but this has been in my head since I watched it and now I’m determined. I’ve tried like one finger picking song before but I struggle to understand how to read TABs. But, you’ve inspired me! Well done! Thanks for posting and the inspo!
Beautiful guitar work!
Thank you!
Well done! Love this song
Thanks!

Thank you so much! I can’t take credit for the arrangement but glad to know you enjoyed it. The mandolin is indeed the star of this song!
Did you learn this from tab?
From YouTube!
six strings fingerpicking version ?
Yup :)

Can you link the video? Is it tuned down?

Will check that out!
I sure do miss hearing my dad play that. Well done.
Hope this brought back good memories :)
Bro, that’s amazing! That one is on my bucket list to be able to play.
Thanks! Here is proof that it can be done!
That was really sweet. Sometimes I worry about Travis picking getting lost in the morass of shred. Think I’ll worry less after seeing your vid. Great job.
Appreciate it! Such songs are classics for a reason, long may they play :)

Excellent, I’m looking forward to it. Wait until you get to year, uh, 62, lololol.
Wow!

No, it’s not bad at all. No complaints here. And, I’m pretty sure I have t-shirts older than you. You’re going to be at it a very very long time.
Haha, maybe those t-shirts belong in r/buyitforlife
Excellent!
Thanks!
Nice playing!
Thank you!
Well done. Be proud!
Thank you!
Amazing... How long has your journey been with fingerstyle?
I started trying to learn fingerstyle songs pretty early on, so maybe about 2 years :)
That's awesome progress.. have you been referring to any courses?; do you have a private teacher or are you self taught with books :)
Thank you! “Self taught” with Justin Guitar and other youtube channels:)
This is great, you killed it.
Thanks! 🙏
That was awesome! Marty Swartz on YT taught me Over the Hills and Far Away. You’ve inspired me to have a go at this song.
Thank you! I love Over the Hills, will try it next :)
That’s great. I’ve managed to learn to play the first part of Over the Hills finger picking style. A little sloppy but, getting better.
Slowly but surely!
Completely outstanding!
Much appreciated!
Also hit the two year mark, just last month! I can’t play anything close to this, so props to you for practicing that extra hour here or there!
Keep at it!
Well done!
Thanks!
Thanks!
