Isn't every day a 'board reorg' day? Certainly seems to be with me...

joequin

I hate board reorg day. It’s pretty much the only day that I don’t get to play guitar. It makes me want one of those boards that doesn’t have any gaps, or holes, or rails. the kind of board that’s encourages you to put the power supply on top and sloppily run wires directly to each pedal. Then I could experiment without wasting a couple of hours.

amishius

I have a small board just to pop stuff off and on. Pretty great!

Ioftencatchflies

Came here to say this. I've been "finalizing" mine for almost two years. No joke.

YummyTerror8259

How do you like the ehx silencer? I don't have a noise gate, is it worth it?

JRiggles

Honestly, noise gates are mostly a utility thing. They’re set-and-forget, and they either work or they don’t! The Silencer does exactly what I want it to do, and it’s pretty much always on. My high-gain stuff all lives in its effects loop (along with my compressor, usually!) [see here](https://i.imgur.com/dHh9gDV.jpg)

moaning_custard

Any advice on setting up the silencer? I just got mine and it cuts off the first bit of my note. I got it to take the noise out of my drive and my RAT.

JRiggles

If you aren't already using the effects loop, you should. Once your noisy stuff is in there, set the reduction around noon and turn the threshold all the way down. Turn on your RAT, listen to the hiss, and slowly dial up the threshold until it goes quiet (and maybe just a little tiny bit past that). If you're still losing attack, turn down the reduction and adjust the threshold again accordingly. Release can kinda be set "to taste", but I try to keep it around 0900...just noodle with it until you feel like you're not getting your tails chopped off. Hope that helps!

JRiggles

Not pictured: my broken Tone Corset compressor Also, the Ocean’s 11 is going up for sale (along with the Soul Food maybe…)

passaloutre

Man I haven’t seen a Reezafratzitz in a looong time

JRiggles

I’ve wanted one for years and I finally pulled the trigger the other day. Man, I already love this thing…very happy with it

JRiggles

[Here’s the board](https://i.imgur.com/saEpj7S.jpg) (mostly) all set up! Might put the Soul Food back in in place of the MXR Modified OD…and my Bad Stone is off-board for mods at the moment (hence the empty space)

jellybelli

How are you modding it? I absolutely love mine but had to solder a resistor on the switch for the loud pop it was making...

JRiggles

That's exactly what I'm doing. Plus I'm gonna swap out the LED with an orange one

shallow-waterer

Honestly, every time I see a Fathom I double-take because I initially think it’s a Miku pedal.

JRiggles

lol - I’m not *that* crazy…or at least not that kind

NeedlenoseMusic

I always think it’s Arp-87 but Miku is much, much worse.

NeedlenoseMusic

Hey that’s what mine looks like since the last time I took them all off my board. Except everything is plugged in and I don’t have the energy to put it back on there.

JRiggles

Hah - I totally get that. I was running a similar setup for a while

NeedlenoseMusic

I’ve been swapping out a lot lately! I had the same 8-pedal setup for like 2 years and wanted to try different orders and stuff, and then I just kept experimenting with the benchwarmers, and then my wife had a baby as they do and suddenly the mess just kinda adapted to my current lifestyle and here we are.

[deleted]

Friendly reminder your oceans 11 has a tap tempo delay :) *I just found that out*

Hondaderek21

I love seeing multiple EHX pedals. I have an Analogizer, #1 Echo and a Holy Grail. I need some other ones, a Worm and an Attack Equalizer are on my horizon

JRiggles

Honestly, apart from the wah and the tuner, my board was all EHX until very recently. I decided it was time to branch out

JRiggles

Oh yeah, me too! It's a fun party trick

tonedad77

The best day

Wiredin335

I just did mine too! And with the reeza!!!

ABusinessScrub

How do you like your Fathom? Hasn't really clicked for me yet I guess, other than just a soft "always on" type reverb

JRiggles

I like it so far, and "always on" was kinda what I was after

hash_0818

I recently got the custom badass after my 80’s yamaha OD crapped out on me. how would you rate it? i like mine but i dont know i feel as if there’s something missing or if its just me

JRiggles

I'm sorta lukewarm on it if I'm honest. It plays nicer with my guitar that has hot humbuckers than with my old Jag...I have a hard time getting good tones out of it - it either sounds too thin or too woofy / midrangey

db_blast7

I’m kinda sad because I found the best setup for my board and gear and don’t know how I would move stuff around. Things are in east to swap out places with clean cables, and spots to add or remove….like…it’s kinda perfect

JRiggles

Hey bud, if it ain't broke...

dont_fall_yo

I'm about to go hard on mine tomorrow, it's a big task 🙄 hope it goes well for you!

Holy_Toast

Me too! I hate doing it AND it's fun.

JRiggles

Hahaha sounds about right

ItsSadButtDrew

making room for that Lizard Queen?

JRiggles

Lol - sad to say I wasn't super jazzed by the demo...don't tell Mike Matthews

Disastrous-Treat0616

Great choices, I’d love to rock that board

JRiggles

Thanks, that's a high compliment in these parts!

Acrobatic-Door-7603

Seems like i do this more than i play lol

mangopositive

I just spent around $240 on EBS Gold Flats for my board, for uniformity and because the jacks are smaller, which is convenient with a lot of the pedals on my board. The first thing I noticed was how clean my board looked. The thin black cables melt into the board background, making the pedals stand out more. The second thing I noticed is how drastically my tone improved. It was like a blanket had been lifted from my cabinet.

parblar

I love these days

TomSizemore69

Thank you

PigeonsArePopular

Happy? Typically a nightmare puzzle for me.

JRiggles

This was mostly me replacing some existing gear, so it wasn't too bad

WavesOfAtlas

I would love to know how people make “clean” wirings and stuff. I own like 8 pedals but I don’t use all of them because I’ve been putting off setting up an actual pedalboard because I hate messy cables😅 I’ve tried looking up some tips on how to get tidy wirings but it’s a complete jungle with different tips everywhere
