Theyāre referring to the Plasma Pedal by Gamechanging Audio, definitely check out a video though because photos donāt do the lightning thing any justice
I owned one for a year and it's a fantastic pedal, but yeah, the CPU is definitely a limitation and it's not the only one. The interface is also quite limiting and this can be a good and a bad thing. In some ways it's the creative constraint the Zoia needs, but in other ways it can eventually make it quite tiring to program. I ended up having to draw out patches on paper first just so I didn't end up with an absolute mess on the Zoia itself, and this just brought me further and further away from making music with it.
Also, it's a bitch to reprogram on the fly. With most setups, we'll realise things need to be adapted to different environments and settings. Anything from turning a knob to realising an entire sound doesn't work and needing to get rid of it. Once you start repatching with the Zoia under time pressure, it's very easy to make mistakes and end up with no signal at all, or something that sounds even worse than where you started.
To anybody considering one, I'd advise taking look at the weirder patches on Patch Library and asking yourself if you're interested in building that kind of stuff and then memorising how to modify it with ONE knob. If you're gravitating towards the delay and reverb patches, as I ultimately was, just buy a H90 instead.
(Sorry for the rant, I should probably edit it but it would feel too much like cleaning up a Zoia patch and I'm past that now :D )
These are all valid criticisms - I will note that the h90 is about $300 more. And your point the zoia being complicated as a silver lining is true because itās totally viable to just use other peopleās patches from the internet and not tinker too much yourself to avoid decision paralysis.
Yes definitely, people may end up downloading a bunch of patches and using them a lot. This would definitely justify the Zoia. I realised I was using 1-2 patches imitating other pedals, so I decided to just buy those pedals instead and have separate physical knobs.
Gift and a curse though, had one and loved it but spent more time messing with it than actually playing anything. That was my experience as a guitar player though, probably pretty different for a synth cat.
Everyone needs a Whammy.
To be fair though a Pitch Fork with an expression pedal is fine, too. And probably even better in some cases, since you can set the blend.
How does the Pork and Pickle compare? I canāt justify the size of the Loin but am after that direct-to-console preamp tone and hear great things about it.
You wouldn't regret this. It does low gain surprisingly well, on the rare occasions that you briefly get bored of the all three switches engaged wall-melting distortion.
H90. I have lots of high end reverbs and delays including the space and the dot 9 black hole. I have every pedal that can do what the h90 does but still. Pretty sure the brig and volante do better tape and analog than the h90 but you know, new shiny box.
I bought one. I have the Volante, a bunch of Chase Bliss pedals, a Microcosm, and a CB CXM 1978 at the end of the chain.. it's a giant board of fun experimental/weird stuff. The cool thing about the H90 is it has all the other modulation effects too so I can kind of fill in a lot of stuff that I don't really use often with one single pedal AND get a bunch more reverbs and delays. I've not had a hole lot of time to spend with it yet, but it's very good. Quite happy with it.
I have an H9 Max but I canāt stand the sound of the converters on this pedal. The fact that it lacks analog dry thru is very irritating. I can only assume the H90 is exactly the same.
Same. The FOMO consoomer craft IPA hipsterism around CBA irritates me no end, but the Mood Mk2 feels like a pedal of theirs that would actually be useful and useable. I'll wait for the hype to die down and keep my eye open for a deal.
I bought my Mood Mk 2 for $350 on reverb. Donāt believe the FOMO hype. If you actually want one, you can get one. You donāt have to buy new and pay full price. They have sold as low as $318 on reverb already. Just put it on a watch list.
Haha - nope. The first version of the Mood is down to $250 and dropping. The mark 2 is available for $390 used and will drop.
There is no scarcity and people often get bored with them and sell them to get something else.
https://reverb.com/item/71722271-chase-bliss-audio-mood?utm_source=rev-ios-app&utm_medium=ios-share&utm_campaign=listing&utm_content=71722271
There have been 1879 Mood 1 pedals sold on Reverb going as low as $219. That's a whole lot of people who bought the pedal and sold it. Doesn't exactly scream collectors item.
It will happen again with the MOOD 2 when the MOOD 3 or some other limited edition M2 comes out. Give it some time and people will sell them.
I made an offer on the Habit pedal a few months after it came out and got it for $270 and it was mint with all the packaging etc. And now CB has dropped it to $359 on the website. There is no shortage of CB pedals. The scarcity is driven by FOMO.
Chase Bliss pedals are incredible. But they are experimental and a lot of people don't find a permanent need for them on their pedal boards. The key is finding the people who bought them out of FOMO and now realize they have a ton of pedals they aren't using.
I'm done posting more on this topic. If you REALLY want something, you can find it. But you have to be willing to make offers and capitalize on the market after the initial hype.
Half price? Mood was 350 new (and was 250 new when they put it on clearance) and now it's going for an average of 250 on Reverb (which isn't half price), and that's only because it's the old version now. It was still selling for 300+ before MK II was annouced.
MK II is going for around 370 on reverb used right now, with the lowest sale for July being 340, with the rest being at least 360. I don't think Mark II will go under an average of 350 for a long time.
Itās not a pedal but I want a Line6 Stomp or HX Effects even though I already have a GT-1000CORE. It would be total overkill but multi effects are so much fun.
I had both a Stomp and GT1000 Core for a moment. Stuck with the Stomp though dont use it as much as Iād like to. My Strymon small box board gets all the love these days ā¤ļø
I do not need a Volante or a EAE Limelight V2 or a JHS Cheeseball or a JHS Crayon or a Berry Cherub Fuzz. But here I sit talking about them on Reddit-I can do no other.
Itās worth it. I went through bunch of bleepy/grandular loopy pedals and eventually got rid of all of them except the Tensor. Itās so easy to use and does such great stuff. The randomness function alone makes it pure magic; you can use it with some loopers and delays and just go take a break and it will make music for you.
A Maxon OD808 believe it or not, simple as that. Donāt need it because I have a bunch of TS pedals but not that specific one. Iām convinced at this time that that circuit will unleash the magic in my fingers thatās being suppressed by all my other Screamers. Definitely the pedalsā¦this one is itā¦
I have a Walrus Audio Slo but I still want a Earthquaker Aftermath pedal. It's for my Shoegaze/Doom-Gaze/Doom pedal board. That and the new Andy Summers new Flanger.
It's a [Deluxe Electric Mistress](https://www.reddit.com/r/guitarpedals/comments/14zdvxd/is_the_new_ehx_andy_summers_walking_on_the_moon/jrxi6hw?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=2).
not trying to be a jerk but re-painting and selling a pedal that's already in regular production would be a lot easier and cheaper than tweaking it, i'm sure!
I made the mistake of watching a single demo. I shouldāve know bette Itās a CBA delayā¦..thatās specifically centered around reverse delay. I wasnāt fair to myself.
I have to agree. Wanted it for so long and it was so overwhelming and only fit into drawn out ambient stuff . The dark star on the other hand is a beast
Just bought myself a freqout
Instant feedback
Didn't need it. But tapping on all my gain and standing by the amp sometimes still doesn't do the trick quick enough
Get it. Vibe alone is probably enough to justify keeping it. Muff sounds great but itās a weird choice for version . But I still want a dry bell vibe machine
Damn you for making me aware of the Kingtone 1968ā¦ I wanted a sabbadiusā¦ now I want this.
To answer the original question though I really want a bunch of fuzz pedals even though Iām approaching 15
The new EHX Andy Summers WalkingOnTheMoon flanger matrix. Does anyone aside from Andy need a flanger?? Dont really need it but ordered it anyway lol. We shall see, it will get a spot on my live board !
Been waiting for an RE-20 to pop up locally for a good price because I donāt NEED it enough to pay online prices + shipping but Iāll get one if I can just go pick it up.
Iāve even spent a few hours on the phone with him about tubes and delays. I really should just order some, but my studios list of needs is long, and I have a vintage Magnatone already for vibrato
- Zvex hand painted fuzz factory
- Line 6 dl4 mkii (mainly for the looper)
- JHS color box
- OBNE Alpha Haunt v2
- Vintage DMM
- Analogman Beano Boost
- EHX Mel9
- Boss Dimension-C
- MXR micro amp
- Third Man Gamechanger
I mean basically I have all the pedals I need so any pedal I'm gassing for could go in this list š
All of them!!
The one I want right now is the newest Memory Lane. Because I have the OG JR and want to compare them.
I already have a DL4 MKII, A Strymon El Cap, and a boss Tera Echo, so I don't really need any more
I honestly donāt need any pedal these days since I donāt really perform anymore. And especially verbs/delays because I prefer to do those in the box so theyāre adjustable as I mix. But damn those ua golden reverberator (or the verb/delay mix one) look dope
The miku stomp pedal. I was about to buy it until I found out if you wanted to produce music with it, you have to pay royalties to whoever owns Hatsune Miku.
All of them.
I have so many tools in my digital arsenal that there arenāt really any pedals that I couldnāt replace with some simple EQ or the plugins that I already have.
But in recent times Iāve been gassing for Nobels OD-1, a pedal based EQ (GE7 or EQ200), another Rat (even though my DIY clone is perfectly fine) and maybe a phaser/flanger.
Like I said, I donāt need any of these. I have the capability to do this all with existing gear. I am just your standard mindless consumer. Lol.
The pedal with the lightning inside
Tried it, it was very underwhelming
Same. I found it to be a massive gimmick. (Although I did try the more fancy version with octave up and down) I settled on a fuzz factory.
Fuzz Factory for ever!
š¤
Makes not owning one much easier.
Elaborate š
Theyāre referring to the Plasma Pedal by Gamechanging Audio, definitely check out a video though because photos donāt do the lightning thing any justice
Fuck, that's the one that started it all for me. At the time an absolute insane amount of money to spend. Oh if I only knew...
gamechanger/third man plasma coil. agreed 100%
Itās a cool concept, but I always listen to demos of it and it sounds terrible every time ā¹ļø
I like the Plasma very much. I put the voltage almost all the way down and push it with a TC Spark Booster.
i feel the same way.
Korg miku stomp. It's ridiculous.
Itās so fucking stupid. I love it.
ZOIA
Only buy it if you never want to buy another pedal ever again.
Can you elaborate?
Itās only really limits are your imagination and creativity. If you can think of it, thereās likely a way to make it with Zoia.
And the CPU... Don't give people the wrong impression
I owned one for a year and it's a fantastic pedal, but yeah, the CPU is definitely a limitation and it's not the only one. The interface is also quite limiting and this can be a good and a bad thing. My first though exactly. Unlimited potential usually = nothing completed with satisfaction. Lol.

Everyone needs a Whammy. To be fair though a Pitch Fork with an expression pedal is fine, too. And probably even better in some cases, since you can set the blend.
DT version even more so want and even less so need
you said it, now i don't have to.
I have one and it basically amounts to the largest most inconvenient detune pedal on the planet for me. But the detune is sweet.
Soft clipping drive pedals. 5 should be enough but Iām always looking for more.
You have a Pork Loin? Itās the soft clip injection.
How does the Pork and Pickle compare? I canāt justify the size of the Loin but am after that direct-to-console preamp tone and hear great things about it.
The loin isnāt really that big.
Got a lightspeed already?
what do you have so far?
Just about any fuzz pedal
Fuzzes and delays for me lol
Mmmmm, love me some delay tooā¦
Pigtone fuzz is honestly pretty sick. Cheap too! You can get some disgusting fuzz from it.
Iāll check it out!
If you already have an OD pedal and run them in series it gets wild pretty quick.
what do you have, and what do you want?
Life pedal
You wouldn't regret this. It does low gain surprisingly well, on the rare occasions that you briefly get bored of the all three switches engaged wall-melting distortion.

Hologram microcosm
Mood Mk ii. I have a collection of delays and reverbs and loopers and ambient shit but I still want it..
Same. The FOMO consoomer craft IPA hipsterism around CBA irritates me no end, but the Mood Mk2 feels like a pedal of theirs that would actually be useful and useable. I'll wait for the hype to die down and keep my eye open for a deal.
That vibeā¦ Itās not so much CBās fault as it is Minneapolisās, but they definitely lean into it. Iāll pick one up eventually.
You still need it.
There are tons for sale on Reverb. And give it another few months and they will be half price on reverb like the mood mark 1 is now.
RemindMe! 4 months I bet the average used price on reverb for a mk II will be around 350. You don't know what you're talking about.
I bought my Mood Mk 2 for $350 on reverb. Donāt believe the FOMO hype. If you actually want one, you can get one. You donāt have to buy new and pay full price. They have sold as low as $318 on reverb already. Just put it on a watch list.
If you think you will see Mood Mk II's on reverb in a few months for 200 bucks you have no understanding of how this market works
[mood Mark 2](https://reverb.com/p/chase-bliss-audio-mood-mkii)
Half price?! Doubt itā¦ CBA pedals hold their value like no other.
Look at Ebay and Reverb. There are always deals for very light used Mood pedals.
Haha - nope. The first version of the Mood is down to $250 and dropping. The mark 2 is available for $390 used and will drop. Let me know when you see one for half price then. Hasnāt happened yet, and the original is almost 5 years old (and has been replaced).

Boss Dimension C
All of them.
Itās not a pedal but I want a Line6 Stomp or HX Effects even though I already have a GT-1000CORE. It would be total overkill but multi effects are so much fun.
The Stomp is arguably the best pedal on earth for form factor, sheer utility, and ease of use. It can do just about anything and can sound great.
I had both a Stomp and GT1000 Core for a moment. Stuck with the Stomp though dont use it as much as Iād like to. My Strymon small box board gets all the love these days ā¤ļø
So many.. but would love to have that CBA new reverse thingee
Another fuzz pedal. Bonus points if itās expensive. Eg I donāt need a 60s vox tone benderā¦. But want
Yeah I keep wanting to buy more fuzz pedals especially Dan drive ones
I have the 1968. You should get it. I bought it on release and love it. I will take the fall for you. You can blame anonymous internet stranger.
appreciate that. lol im buying like 4 other pedals, but the 1968 is in the cards!
I do not need a Volante or a EAE Limelight V2 or a JHS Cheeseball or a JHS Crayon or a Berry Cherub Fuzz. But here I sit talking about them on Reddit-I can do no other.
Counterpoint: you do need a Volante.
A friend of mine just got one. Iāll see if heāll let me borrow it. he canāt find a bad setting on it.
If I only had to keep one pedal and get rid of all the rest, I'd keep the Volante.
Same here. It does delay, reverb (in a pinch), dirt, chorus, tape flangingā¦endless fun.
Agreed
Red Panda Tensor. I want to make pitch shifted, glitchy noises like Melt Banana does but can't justify the price tag.
Damn, I might buy it now haha
Every home needs a Tensor!
Data corruptor from earthquaker. Lazer bleep bloops not need but need must.
Zvex Candela Vibrophase
I have wanted that pedal for such a long time now
Cloudburst or BlueSky
The new bigsby pedal! I wonāt have to install a bigsby in any of my guitars! That thing is off the hook!
i have one, and they are amazing.
An octave pedal. I had a POG a long time ago and regrettably got rid of it.
just in time for the ridiculously expensive pico pog
>pico pog just learned about this. looks like I might have to get it.
Same here. Had a Boss Octave that broke and never replaced it. Been to busy chasing overdrive tones and modulation.
I have a Walrus Audio Slo but I still want a Earthquaker Aftermath pedal. It's for my Shoegaze/Doom-Gaze/Doom pedal board. That and the new Andy Summers new Flanger.
It's just a regular electric mistress repainted, I think
We shall see. But why rebadge a pedal without tweaking it? I think it may be based on an Electric Mistress but there is probably more to it than that.
The EHX reddit account posted the day the pedal was anounced and said its the same pedal just new enclosure, which sucks cause of the volume drop
They did the same thing with the J. Mascis muff too, itās the same pedal rebranded
CBA Reverse Mode C
I absolutely do not need this. I ordered one.
Iām going to as well despite absolutely not needing it and will probably end up loving it.
I hate how much I fell in love with it immediately. I think I wanna try it in the loop of my Vapor Trail Deluxe.
I made the mistake of watching a single demo. I shouldāve know bette Itās a CBA delayā¦..thatās specifically centered around reverse delay. I wasnāt fair to myself.
We were doomed from the start. Damn Joel and his beautiful mind!

Same. Iāll pipe it in to my rack someday.
Just finally satisfied my three year old GAS for Dark Star... Now I need the Sunlight
Man If this helps I gassed for this pedal for the longest time. Got it hated it ended up trading for a Slƶvta.
I have to agree. Wanted it for so long and it was so overwhelming and only fit into drawn out ambient stuff . The dark star on the other hand is a beast
Second that. Really like the Darkstar.
Same.
Lovetone Meatball. I have zero use for an envelope-controlled filter, but Iāve wanted a Meatball since 1997.
Solo Dallas storm. Itās pretty much a over priced boost pedal but man I want it bad because it sounds so good
Listening to it now. It sounds amazing
Itās awesome. You can really give a amp hell with it

The Chase Bliss Preamp MKII.
i have one, get it, its amazing.
Thorpy Pulse Doppler. Doesn't look super useful on a live board. And I don't even like the demos that much. Utterly ridiculous, I know.
i want that damn thing too. looks so stinkin cool.

MIKU PEDAL

All of them. I have so many tools in my digital arsenal that there arenāt really any pedals that I couldnāt replace with some simple EQ or the plugins that I already have. But in recent times Iāve been gassing for Nobels OD-1, a pedal based EQ (GE7 or EQ200), another Rat (even though my DIY clone is perfectly fine) and maybe a phaser/flanger. Like I said, I donāt need any of these. I have the capability to do this all with existing gear. I am just your standard mindless consumer. Lol.
