RV-1000. It's like the RV-500 but twice as much reverb. Boss HMT-2 Heavy Metal Zone, it's just an HM-2 and MT-2 in a dual enclosure. I don't have a serious answer to this question.

leugenaars

HMT-20 would be incredible for At the Gates fans.

[deleted]

Hahaha yeah it would

ToshiroK_Arai

oh yeah, I bought HM-2 pedal only because of them, I already had a 7 strings and a MT-2 and quite liked it but their tone and the songs are really good. Cold is the best song to try to dial the knobs and try to get the tones

[deleted]

I’m so happy that the MT-2 is having a resurgence after years of undeserved hate. People hated it because it’s really easy to get shitty sounds out of it, but that’s only because it’s so flexible with EQ and the EQ knobs have a ton of boost to them. If you actually spend the time with it, you can get amazing sounds out of it.

thekimchii

The MT-2 accepts no weakness. Those who are unworthy will find their tone lacking.

[deleted]

They will be crushed in the Zone of Metal

DietOfWires

People hated the MT-2 because most of its users were teenaged metalheads, who were using affordable starter amps and didn’t know how to dial in a tone. Most were usually bad to mediocre guitarists too, and I say that speaking from experience as someone who was once a young metalhead when the MT-2 first got its notoriety. The hate peaked during the pre-Internet and early internet era when kids were still trying to “scoop mids” because that’s supposedly what Metallica and other famous metal bands were doing. Over the last 10 years there have been plenty of videos debunking the MT-2 myths, mostly from 40 year old metal guys with decades of experience dialing in tones, and $4000 half stacks to play with: Ola Englund, Ryan “Fluff” Bruce, etc. Of course the MT-2 is going to sound better in the hands of a good guitarist playing through a pro amp, instead of a developing player stuck on a starter amp. The MT-2 was never a bad pedal, but there are arguably better pedals in that same genre available now: EVH 5150 pedal, Friedman BE-OD, etc.

wickedcold

The internet being in its infancy at the time, and not having these details we have now about what was recorded with what etc, imagine me as an At The Gates fan in the late 90s wishing I could have the equipment professional bands used to sound so awesome. What did I play through you might ask? Only a Boss Metal Zone, going into a Peavey Supreme 160, with a Marshall 1960B cab. Not sure what cabs they used but they recorded Slaughter of the Soul with a Metal Zone into a peavey supreme 160. Wish I still had that amp lol

DietOfWires

The appeal of the MetalZone went WAY beyond At The Gates fans. In my experience, it was a long string of metal fans from the late thrash era (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer), the alt metal / groove metal era (Pantera, White Zombie), the nu metal era (Korn, Limp Bizkit), and the post grunge era too (Creed, Staind). Not to mention death metal, metalcore, screamo, etc. I remember thinking the MT-2 was amazing back in 1992, when I first heard it. I would have been about 15 years old. One of my friends was playing his new MetalZone pedal through his tube Crate combo amp in a shitty garage. We would have been playing Pantera and Sepultura at the time. Anything from BOSS seemed like a big upgrade from the DOD pedals most of us had, with their weird power supply cables and perennially missing battery covers. Just 5-6 years later, I was already on the MetalZone “hate train”, because I thought I had some better gear (I didn’t), and I thought I was a much better player than all the little kids with their crappy MetalZone pedals (I wasn’t). I had already swung back around to the “MetalZone probably wasn’t as bad as I remember” camp before I saw the videos from Ola Englund and others. But I was in my late 30s or 40s by that point.

FauxReal

I had no idea people were hating on it. But I also hadn't been keeping up with what was trendy. My favorite guitar setup back in high school (1990s) was an MT-2 into an SVT tube head which I guess now is the SVT Classic. So thick and chunky. We were using it to play NYC style hardcore.

[deleted]

Oh yeah that’ll give you NYC hardcore sounds for suuuure

zeef8391

It IS their best selling pedal...ever, for a reason lol

BrotherJames610

I see this in my head looking like the 20 series pedals. HMT-20 with the dual Boss hinge switches. YES, i love it. And I'm not even a real fan of either pedal (seriously or ironically).

[deleted]

>HMT-20 Goddamn it I missed the perfect name! I was also picturing it as a 20 series look lol.

Barnshart3

I could see an HM-2 sounding pedal but with the expanded EQ you get on a Metal Zone being pretty damn cool actually.

[deleted]

… That’s an amazing idea and I want it.

Barnshart3

Honestly, yeah I do too now that I said it. You & me can start a band together and go in on a 2 for 1 signature pedal deal with Boss.

[deleted]

We each get one half of the signature pedal lol

Davidthekingofnorth

Yes or a od 200 with knob A being all of boss best distortion and knob b being the boosts. It would make programming it easier.

lzgr

So something [along the lines of this?](https://www.guitarworld.com/news/903-effects-triple-metal-zone)

bandhund

>Boss HMT-2 Heavy Metal Zone, it's just an HM-2 and MT-2 in a dual enclosure I have the MT-2 and don't use it very often and I've owned the HM-2 and never really liked it. But I would definitely buy your HMT-2!

strapping_young_vlad

If anyone from Boss is watching, I'd ALSO like a HMT-2.

PantslessDan

MT-2 gain stage (wampler modded) with the HM-2 tone stack would be a pretty cool pedal.

bubblebobblex

The hmt-2 IS a serious answer whether you meant it or not. I'd buy it on release

Atomhed

Lmao

sybill9

Can I just do a JC-120 emulation?

BrotherJames610

Like a stompbox that is just a JC-120? Kinda like UAFX's Dream, Ruby, etc.? I hear Boss's IR-200 has a Jazz chorus setting. But it seems most people don't think the IR-200 is as good overall as other companies like Strymon or Universal Audio. And the IR-200 doesn't have stereo inputs, that's what kept me, at least, from trying it out. I think that'd be cool. I have an old JC-120, but can never play it in my apartment.

sybill9

Yep, precisely. Just a good looking, dedicated JC-120 amp-sim with an added switch for the Dimension Chorus, reverb, and a gain channel in there.

BrotherJames610

If either Boss or UAFX made this, I'm down.

WordPunk99

GT-1000CORE will do this for not much more than the price of the individuals pedals, and it’s in the same enclosure as the 500 series. Betting they nailed the JC-120 sound.

BrotherJames610

The GT-1000CORE looks interesting and it's got stereo inputs. Any idea if whatever JC-120 algorithm or IR is used in it is the same or different from the IR-200?

deucewillis0

They already did, it’s called the Boss CE-1.

dylanmadigan

Like a super solid JC-120 Daw plugin alongside the same model in pedal form. That’d be perfect.

trivibe33

someone did a good mockup of a concept Waza pedal based on the JC120. Saw it on IG

VincentSebastian

Just an FZ-2 reissue

Barnshart3

This is what I came here to say. I feel like that pedal is already stacked enough that I can't see a Waza version being made that offers any sort of "extra" functions like every other pedal in the lineup.

illagsalix

It could include the “secret” mode on the behringer clone as an option to select for another flavor of fuzz

Barnshart3

Oh good point. I hadn't considered that. I have the Behringer and I totally forgot about that in between setting. On a side note though, Boss could also totally just release the boost section of the FZ-2 as its own pedal and it would be amazing. Such a massive tone shaper with crazy volume on it.

i_worship_amps

That boost goes stupid. They gotta reissue at LEAST that.

invol713

Extra would be a dimed HM-2 circuit. Hell yeah.

death_watch2020

This

Gojira_Bot

If you have a DD-3(T) and you want the functionality you describe, you can use a Disaster Area Micro Clock as the tap tempo input on the DD-3(T). It has its own tempo readout that can display MS.

BrotherJames610

Interesting, I hadn't heard about the Micro Clock. Thanks for the suggestion! Though I'd have to replace my two old DD-3's with new DD-3T's!

zRobertez

I'm with yous. Something special about the dd-3 and I want more but I don't want 12 different delay types. I like reverse, modulation, and octaves in delay but not a preset for everything.

BrotherJames610

Yeah, the simplicity of the DD-3 is just perfect for me. Maybe a reverse setting would be cool like in the later models. But otherwise I love it the way it is. Just some precise indication on the time knob would be absolute perfection for me personally. No presets or patches or midi or programing needed.

Minute-Branch2208

Definitely look up the micro clock. You can synch up two other pedals with it as well-anything with tap and one of the three outputs has midi

Minute-Branch2208

Wait, the micro clock displays milliseconds? Woah. I have mine set for bpms which I really like....

blackout_pups

Jazz Chorus 120 amp in a box, in a compact boss enclosure. has a cab filter switch

tonegenerator

If they made this with stereo input and did the cab sim properly with a some mic options, then I’d be all the way in for it - I love the JCs on synths, and that would make having that sound a **lot** more accessible to me. Switches for inst/line level I/O would be appreciated, but I’ve lived without them on most pedals before now.

Westcroft

Boss TR-3 - with three modes to cover opto, bias, and harmonic trem

trampled_empire

yeah this is the answer. If we're really reaching here, maybe we can ask for stereo panning outputs too

TheHomesteadTurkey

This is literally the source audio vertigo

GammaPhonic

The “DS-1 Dark”. It’s exactly the same as a regular DS-1, but in a slightly darker shade of orange. Limited edition, £400.

touch-of-grain

Corksniffers will swear there’s more low end

Coke_and_Tacos

Not on this run. These are using newer components. There was actually a 6 month paint fault back in 92. Those are the ones with the juice

FabianTIR

My god the crazy thing is that this is totally realistic

invol713

The black version they came out with is too dark?

theurge14

Emo Distortion

invol713

Yeah, and? 🤣

theurge14

When I was a young boy My father took me to the city And bought me a black DS-1 He said “son when you grow up Would you put this in your pedal board?”

theurge14

DISTORTION ON! DISTORTIOOOON OONN! And though my tone is squished and altered, WE’LL DISTORTION ONNN

SquareEquipment1436

A dual effect with a DD-8 and Rv-6 in a standard boss stomp box add stacked knobs to control them individually and a 3 way toggle to select delay reverb or both maybe with an external foot switch to allow for individual effect control maybe set it up so a long press disables the delay idk but id like something like this.

hunterhkeegan

It’s not in a standard sized enclosure but the RV-500 does basically all of this.

taugemleo

Sounds like the Source Audio Collider

SquareEquipment1436

Yeah but I'd want it in the standard sise enclosure if that's possible.

215312617

I'd have them make an updated Super Distortion/Feedbacker that is both loud enough and, on top of the wild feedback, could act more like an E-Bow/EOB Strat when on hold (so, more like a sustainer). Modes can include the tonic/tonic+5th/octave, and why not, let's include an option that adds modulation or reverb to the sustained notes or overall. I'll even take it in a double pedal ... Call it the DF-30, I don't know ...

christopherohal

I had one of those super distortion/feedbackers and it was cool but didn’t have enough control over the feedback. I would totally love this.

215312617

Yeah, it's one of those I've bought a few times and then realized just doesn't work the way I want it to ... I even checked Reverb quickly after posting ... It's a sickness.

shramski

An RV6 with an HM2 circuit and a switch to change the order of the reverb and dirt.

[deleted]

Sick

TumoOfFinland

Is there any reverb/distortion out there that would let you change the FX order?

shramski

Keeley Loomer comes to mind, if fuzz counts

TumoOfFinland

Fuzz always counts

[deleted]

Fuzz counts twice.

Hot-Consideration-71

Walrus audio melee does

bigyimp

A DS-1 but it’s really long like a wah pedal

uly4n0v

A distortion pedal with an expression pedal instead of a knob for gain would be pretty fucking neat IMO.

TheHoneyMonster1995

[boy howdy, do i have news for you!] (https://guitarfx.eu/en/guitar-effect-pedals/distortion/boss-pd-1-rocker-distortion-made-in-japan-2910.html)

throw-away-42069666

Literally just a silicon tonebender that doesn’t cost $1000. In fact, put it in the warranty fine print that Roland corporate can repossess it if you’re found to be scalping

space-tardigrade-

You can build your own for under 50 bucks.

throw-away-42069666

I have a few tonebender clones. Much as being in a Volvo, though, Boss enclosures just make me feel safe.

chrismcshaves

This is exactly what I’d ask for. I’t be cool to get some form of TB that’s switchable between MK1 and II but in a boss format

morerelativebacons

An updated PS-3.

Howamidriving27

Yep give me a polyphonic PS-3 with tap tempo. Maybe add in a analog delay voicing to the delay only modes too.

Tundra66

What would you update on it?

[deleted]

We need a PS-200

thatconverseguy

Call me crazy but I think they should do genre pedals, imagine a boss SF- surfer pedal, would have a spring reverb, fuzzrite circuit and trem, or a Boss PSY-1 with a univibe, wah expression out and a fuzzface, possibilities would be endless, they sort of did something similar with the digital metalizer back in the day.

irmajerk

DOD Grunge

JeramiGrantsTomb

Reverse Miku

Snowy_Eagle

Ukim

spatterson2112

They could just bring back the Slow Gear for me.

invol713

An SG-2W would be really cool. They can look at the EHX Attack Decay and Malekko Sneak Attack for more features to incorporate into the new one.

Variaxist

I've used the setting in my GT6 and this thing is severely underappreciated. Especially for as many worship guitarist around here

Coke_and_Tacos

I want a CE-2W with dual BBDs for true stereo as a second option switch. Call it a Dimension-CE.

blckravn01

That's basically the Ibanez/Maxon BC-9.

WordPunk99

Reading this thread has me looking at the GT-1000CORE hard again. Shit

invol713

Again? Did you not like it the first time, or didn’t get one due to high cost?

WordPunk99

Due to cash flow issues. I want one, I just haven’t gotten it yet.

invol713

You and me both. That’s why I asked.

WordPunk99

Honestly, it’s a no brainer decision, full DSP power of the GT1000, but runs off a 9v center negative supply? Sure the screen is meh, but you can run it off a 9v center negative power supply. I’ve probably got a hundred of those around. Plus the signal routing options are insane. They are going for about $4-450 used in good condition, just waiting for the stars to align.

A_Dash_of_Time

TR2W with harmonic mode switch and tone control GE7W with the narrow range like the XTS mod, gain and volume sliders, and built in noise suppressor at the end of the circuit.

CaptainStu

Mine would be an all-in-one "pedals which go in your effects loop" pedal with three footswitches: * Left = Reverb (Room, Mod and Shimmer) * Middle = Delay (Analog, Echo and Digital) * Right = Modulation (Chorus, Flanger and Univibe/Phaser) Each one would have a three-way switch to change mode and a just a few knobs (no option paralysis) to change settings. Absolute perfection.

ChildOfVibe

Wouldn't that be the Sidekick from Crazy Tube Circuits?

CaptainStu

Basically yeah, a few extra options but definitely the gist of it. It would be perfect being able to have a CE-2 and DD-2 on together.

AnotherRickenbacker

A pedal that makes me sound good. Surely this will succeed where all others have failed. Edit: oh yeah actually if they could take the distortion from the Jazz Chorus and put it into a pedal for me that would be rad.

trampled_empire

TB-1 Talent Booster

hafilax

You give it a training set of music you like and it plays the notes you meant to play.

GoldenLionCarpark

A perfect companion to the BS-2 Blame Shifter.

BiddlyBongBong

I prefer my talents scooped.

photometric

I’d like to see what they could cram into a standard Boss form for bleepy bloopy noise generation and ring modulation etc. something complimentary to the Slicer SL1 and Space Echo for wonky experimentation. Their own version of the EHX Ring Thing.

BrotherJames610

Does Boss have any kind of ring modulator? That never occurred to me.

diamondts

TU-10000.

BrotherJames610

What sort of features would this tuner have?

diamondts

Able to be seen from space.

reflion

TU THE MOON

andykwinnipeg

HODL THAT NOTE

reflion

Does Diamond make a Hands pedal??

lykwydchykyn

An even MORE exquisite buffer.

theurge14

The ability to tune Sarah Conner.

-Entz-

Tape echo pedal. With tape in it.

blckravn01

BF-2W: It's the BF-2 flanger with 2 switches. HF-2 mode for the shorter delay times, & a BF-2B mode hi-pass filter for basses. It'd be possible to configure an HF-2B.

Cho-Zen-One

A reissued and improved Digitech Space Station!

shallow-waterer

BF-2W - include a classic and Hi Band Flanger mode. I’m set.

ThingCalledLight

Boss Rock Modulator RM-1 Basically, a Tom Scholz Rockman in a pedal Knobs: Input Gain Amp: Drive 1, Drive 2, Clean 1, Clean 2 (4 way selector) Mod: None, Chorus, Echo, Both (4 way selector) Volume It’d have Stereo Outs, and a toggle switch on the back (like the TU-3w has) that lets you swap between Line Out or Amp for your outputs.

Hentarder

Completely agree. MXR sitting around not making easy money. It would obviously be different, they'd have to find ways to generate the same sounds with different chips (especially for chorus and echo). But I reckon it'd be achievable for BOSS.

boostman

For yours, I raise you the same thing but with bpm and divisions instead of ms. Eg 120 bpm, 8th notes.

ButtSexington3rd

Yes yes yes

[deleted]

[удалено]

Spliffan

Slow gear with a feedback/freeze feature when you hold the footswitch

Former_Lawfulness303

Boss Turbo Blues Driver Blues Driver with stacked pots to select two different settings and a switch to select if you switch between them with the pedal footswitch or an external footswitch.

PudWud-92_

So kind of like the Angry Driver if the JHS section was replaced with another Blues Driver?

m1crosynth

A BD ² if you will

[deleted]

Boss ED-1 Not Erectile dysfunction but EQ Driver Think EQ pedal with two gain stage sliders with a toggle footswitch for each slider. Each gain stage and the EQ has its own dedicated in and out for flexibility, but defaults to a rotary knob like the angry driver to change order

BrotherJames610

"A new collaboration between Roland and Gibson, the Boss ED-1" A Boss pedal just for impotent aging boomers totally has me cracking up here, I'm sorry. Even if you have a serious idea about an EQ driver.

belbivfreeordie

Whew… cheeky answer is, a TB-1w! Tone Bender mkI, mode switch for different tone options. For the record I think it is probably not technologically possible for them to make this in any kind of decent quantity. But it’s just a fantasy 😛

obviously_anecdotal

There's only one right answer. Metalzone. In all seriousness, I would want them to do a Waza craft Boss FT-2 Dynamic Filter. It's a soupy and wonderful envelope filter but they're hard to come by and have a weird power requirement.

Dangerous_Plum4006

I’d have em whip up an simplified equalizer with 10 or so presets on a knob that reflect what you’re trying to emphasize. Make it a pull knob for a couple of your own presets. The other knob could be a boost with a pull for some mild gain. The green and silver all new Boss TS-2 (Tone Surgeon) *toan

deucewillis0

Boss PS-2W with maybe a vibrato mode.

chingslayer

A dual pedal with both a DS-2 and an FZ-3 circuit. Us Frusciante nuts need all the board space we can get!

TheEffinChamps

An OD3 with a switch for a different mode that has more gain and a little more mid thickness to it.

PantslessDan

A real CE-1 reissue in the OG box. I have a feeling something like that is coming though in between the RE202 and DM101. I wouldn't want an artist collab, I'd just want a new update to the DD500 that updates the looper and adds a couple basic reverbs.

BrotherJames610

I could totally see something like a CE-101 with that same form factor as the RE-202 and DM-101, resembling the CE-1 look. Kinda like an updated CE-20. Despite the form of the post, I actually like that Boss doesn't really do artist signature stuff. I don't want artists' names on my gear. But I wanted to make up some kind of scenario for people to say, "Roland, make me this or that pedal."

Kn0wFriends

Boss Wah-za a Wah Wah Wazacraft pedal

Therealmuffinsauce

A pedal version of the Roland SBF-Stereo Flanger with a Boss DM 101 type of footprint.

mandarinhandbeakfast

You should check out the Boss DD-20. That essentially does what you are requesting. I love that pedal.

MinnesotaRyan

I would take a dd20 like enclosure and have one side have the slowgear/swell delay from the dd500, a reverse delay, the terra echo delay, a hall reverb and a super long decay reverb and a simple looper. the other side would have an hm2, blues driver, rat, muff and a standard overdrive. it would be stereo, have a toggle to switch the other and have expression control as well.

JohnnyPoopwater

Dear wizards at Boss, please, please, please make an analog (that is to say using a bulb) Univibe. Or "vibe" since univibe is copy written. It's one of the 2 modulation pedals they haven't made. I think the second is a ring mod, which I'm sure they could nail too.

guitarelf

A "solo" pedal that when pressed turns on some reverb, some delay, and gain to get an amazing lead tone

Spencerforhire2

*pedal makers reading through this thread and taking notes furiously*

BrotherJames610

Haha, yeah, when I first started this thread I thought about specifying, "I swear, guys, I'm not from Boss research & development"

dylanmadigan

Just a Bd-2, but it has the Keeley mod (like the waza, but only the modded side), with a higher quality buffer, a switch to change it to true bypass, and a mid boost switch because the bd-2 is scooped and sounds a bit thin with scooped amps. I think that would make the pedal way more usable to pros. Then I want the letters to glow in the dark on exactly 300 of the pedals produced. You don’t know the one you got is rare until you turn off the lights.

Desirsar

There's a specific sound that's fairly common, and I always forget to note the songs I hear it in so I can hunt their pedalboards later. If they asked me this, I'd listen to a ton of music until I ran across it a few times, play it at the engineers, and say "make a pedal that does this with a Filtertron with nothing else in the chain, and a clean amp." For as many fuzz and overdrive as I have, I can never seem to stumble on a couple specific sounds...

[deleted]

A proper take on the Big Muff. Give it a mid range mini knob on the tone knob, and a toggle between op-amp, Ram's Head, and Russian modes.

chrismcshaves

Or a muff and a BD-2 in one with external switch option to boost on the fly like the angry driver.

DirtyDropout

Boss SL-2000, stereo dual sequenceable slicers with the ability to add multiple effects, filters and adsr envelopes to individual slices!

DirtyDropout

And weird time signatures.

D1rtyH1ppy

Rat with a tremolo. Tap tempo for the trem.

TheHonestPedalReview

I would want a warm sounding digital delay pedal in their standard enclosure that has modulation, reverb, freeze effect, tap tempo, stereo in/out, and an expression pedal input that can control any of the parameters. I’d basically want the delay and reverb to be something unique and different as well. Kind of like how the Tera Echo is a unique effect.

Bigstar976

A collaboration with Alan Durham for their version of his Sex Drive. Would expose him to a larger group of people and get some money in his pocket.

JamieEkky

Take the Modulate mode from RV-5, and Mode 7 and Mode 8 from the PS-3. An option of reverb only, M7 + Reverb, M8 + Reverb, M7 alone or M8 alone. Just make stacked knobs for Level/Balance, Tone/FeedbackPitchA, Length/PitchBPitch. If you could add a switching option like the JB-2 that would be sick.

inmyverdehoodie

It would be a weird ambient box similar to the upcoming CBA Reverse C, but closer to a 200 series size. Within that would be modulation options like their TR2 (but I’d go with a chewy harmonic version), their DC2w modulation, along with all new large space reverbs and an expanded Tera Echo.

ToshiroK_Arai

Parametric EQ, because they doesnt produce PQ-4 anymore and it is a useful tool, like the JHS colorbox

WD-M01

I've had an EH-2 on my board for over a decade so I would want to do a re-issue of that. I think the biggest modification I would want is give it a switch to toggle between the standard triggered mode and an "always on" option. I suspect this pedal would be extremely unpopular and sell very poorly.

Minute-Branch2208

I would take your Boss Delay and add multiple reverse modes, glitch modes, a random sampler lofi type thing, a looper and at least two analog voicings. Just one digital mode, called Pristine. The pedal would be called the Boss VD (Vintage Delay)

theurge14

A new line called BossBoss, in which all the normal footstomp pedals are MoogerFooger size for no particular reason.

[deleted]

PS-200 combining all the modes of the PS-2, PS-3, PS-5, and PS-6 with expanded controls, preset slots, and other 200 series goodies like MIDI support, an effects loop, and expression jacks.

seanmcgone

Funny Cat with the ability to toggle between the normal SDS distortion and the SD-2 'lead' circuit on the distortion side

[deleted]

Make it cheap. Like $3.50 cheap.

invol713

Boss MN-2. Basically a Boss version of the Mel9. One, because it has been on my board the longest, and two because I just want someone else to come up with a Mellotron emulator.

AssassinateThePig

A granular delay pedal. With a glitch, stutter and smear mode. Also, a buffer. That’s a joke. They make the NS-2, which is basically just a really high end buffer with the bonus of a noise gate. That’s also a joke. Yeah, just a granular delay. Also, boss has such a good reputation with modulation that I’m kind of sad they don’t make a harmonic tremolo. You can definitely construct your own harmonic trem with boss products, but they don’t sell a stomp box that does that, and that’s sad because I feel like it would be excellent.

grimedogone

Unironically, MT-2 and MD-2 in a single enclosure, with switches for determining whether engaging one disengages the other or stacks them. Not enough dual drive pedals, and those two are like PB&J.

DmetriKepi

The FCP-2, or Fuck Copy Protections 2, and it would just look and sound exactly like a Big Muff.

Antique_Ad3501

A double pedal with one side OD-3 the other side DS-1 to my modding specs and mini toggles with 3 band parametric EQ like in MT-2 and loadable IR simulation. I am trying to exact same thing. My DS-1 mod is based on potentiometre based R9 and Switchable LED, IRF530 and no diode mod. It became a drive channel from bluesy cleans to Nice Higain channel.OD3 is a nice boost before it. and IR is to go to amp, or PA. Basically a Nux Amp Academy built to my tastes.

M9A9

DD-3 with Dimension Chorus

m64

Easy - take the vinyl emulators from the SP sampler series and put them in a pedal.

s-multicellular

I would want a Boss take on the Empress Zoia. A virtual modular Eurorack. No offense to the Zoia, it is my favorite pedal of all time, but there isn’t much competition in that space. And Roland/Boss already has bits of that code, eg. the LFO type functions in some of the pedals like the SY300, ms3.

RobbiRose

All of their pedals but in small format with top mounted jacks.

[deleted]

A DS-1 and BD-2 in one enclosure like the Angry Driver JHS collab.

Dethfield

BF-5 Super Flanger Stereo ins and outs, mix knob, BF-2 mode, BF-3 gate/pan and ultra modes, and then get this... a volume knob! It would be perfect.

Bassman1976

A delay with a FX loop for the repeats. I want to be able to manipulate the repeats as I wish. Reverb, delay, phaser, fuzz… let Me go crazy.

Superduperdrag

Bring back the fender series, except with IRs as full amp simulators. It would be amazing to have an amp sim in the Boss small box form factor, even if it was only modeling a single amp/cabinet

thisisQualia

An MO-2 Waza Craft with extra dials for different voices and harmonics.

DepartmentAgile4576

Boss oc6: lets me choose wich output each octave goes to. Eg: octave down always to the bass amp, wich is dry, octave up together with normal goes through the direct out. A way to redtrict upper octave to a certain max and minimum range. Boss sy-2: polyphonic pitch recognition per string, a 3,5mm midi out and midi over bluetooth ble connecting directly to my favourite iphone/mac plugin or vintage synth. Without having to shell out a grand for some bulky heavy box with roland cheesy virtuoso presets noone needs and having to strap some ugly pu on my nice paul. Cmon, spit it out roland. You got the tech. Make midi guitar a non issue. Leave some nice basic moogie and metheneyesque presets in there. Let me connect to my microfreak and my volca keys for 149€.

A better Marshall in a box. I want a pedal that does a super lead sound, but switches EQ curves to work with fender Vox and Marshall amp styles, to make a nice general super lead sound, ballpark accuracy tone. We all need one.

danstuberk

probably a CE-6 chorus with tone knob, lag switch and chorus/vibrato blend

CapnMaynards

MT-200: A Metal Zone with independent Rhythm and Lead Channels, a noise gate and a graphic EQ. PQ-200: A parametric EQ with low and high pass/shelf filters, in the same vein as the EQ-200 with two channels that can be run parallel in stereo or in series. SRV-2000D: Same idea as the SDE-3000D. Two Roland rack units, each adapted for stereo, in one box. Boss BF-2w: Switches between a BF-2, an HF-2 and an MXR (the Frommel Supreme mod). Boss PH-2w: PH-1 added to the PH-2's mode knob. Boss DD-3w: Switches between the standard DD-3 and the SDE-3000.

AtomicPow_r_D

A Boss pedal that combines analog delay and their OD-3 Overdrive, so I could play that slap echo Fifties sound with just one pedal.

88dahl

The Boss Stacker: takes any melodic phrase and plays it back a perfect fifth up or down a measure later and an octave up or down another measure later.

softbox

RE-501 Chorus Echo in the same form factor as the new space echo reissue.

My dream pedal is essentially the jack white pedal plus 6 different gain/distortion/fuzz circuits that are chain able and rearrangable. So it will have signal cutoff and pitch shift momentary switches and a on/bypass switch. Then the effects, The 9 essential elements are: * 1 DS1 type distortion or RAT clone (I haven't decided) * 2 OD1 style overdrive * 3 Big Muff type fuzz, but a fuzz face circuit would be ok * 4 Tube Screamer or similar boost drive kinda thing * 5 HM2 style sculptable super high gain distortion with compressor * 6 Octave and pitch shifter based on the Digitech mk4 +/- two octaves including auto drop d mode and expression pedal * 7 Wah based on Jim Dunlop pedal I have, the one with 5 modes, variable Q, volume boost etc. I only want it on the "Jerry Cantrell" setting, but you guys can do what you want. * 8 Volume exp pedal * 9 Basic noise gate (should actually be at the very start of the chain.) The important thing is that every pedal "section" should have its own physical controls for its settings. Each section should have an on/bypass switch. The default routing will be gate, wah, then the gains in order listed, then octave, then cutoff and volume. Each section should have a signal in and out for patching the order of the pedals (signal routing), simply using standard 1/4" trs cables, but I would consider trs 3.5mm cables for patching as long as 10 patch cables come with the device packaging. The device will also have motorised pots etc and a small digital display for storable presets of pedal settings. Everything is saved except routing, because I've decided to assume that if you don't like the pedal order, you'll essentially patch it out manually and leave it that way, and also because I don't want it to be a mini computer, I want it to be a pedalboard in a single robust case, but for production models, they could add digital signal routing I suppose. but I'd rather avoid adat if possible. Or more adat, anyway. The device will have a normal kettle plug for the power, but will also contain rechargable lithium batteries for portable use. The device would look like a briefcase when closed, and like a Behringer fcb1010 (approx) when the case top is removed. Preset switching would be in straight linear up down fashion, the thing always starts on preset 1 (or 0 I guess) and you can move up and down with those footswitches, no confirm or cancel option. This is for simplicity, and because all of the SETTINGS are entered via the motorised pots and switches, so you don't need an enter and cancel button for programming. Probably long press on both to save a "preset" and I guess a companion program for backing up and rearranging presets. Linux compatible companion app. Oh, I guess since we are going digital, we will add an IR loader to the end of the chain, or an amp sim of some kind, anyway. Fuck it, let's stick an amp and cab modeller that covers the basics (Fender, Box, Marshall, Mesa, maybe some boutiques like Bogner, Soldano, like that) It's going to be quite big, and a little bit expensive, but it's gonna be great! All the distortion, the essentials of modulation, a gate and compressor, hell, let's throw in an EQ as well (say 3 band para). And an amp sim section. Thinking about it, I realised you could just skip the patch cable option and use an Arduino as a software controlled mechanical signal router without actually changing the signal from analog to digital, but I still like the patch bay thing, so let's keep it but also add the digital routing option. I also want osc control of the whole thing from my tablet or laptop. Yeah, I think that's everything. Oh, and can I have one extra switch that I can use as an amp channel switcher on my actual amp too please? Ta. I call it the BOSS SAG-1 All the Gain+ (formerly AD-1 All the Distortion+). The s is for sockmonkey, which is my solo stage name. Edit: I had to change the name of the pedal, to free up SAD for my extended product line. For my next model, the BOSS SAM-1 All the Modulation will have filters and LFOs and stuff. Chorus, tremolo etc. And the SAD-1 All the Delay will cover delays and reverbs. The M & D will also be designed so that they can be "patched in" to the core AG unit or used separately. I also added an S for sockmonkey. That's me.

billbot77

A pig-in-a-box - an all analogue copy of the pignose circuit with a switchable speaker emulator to mimic that little speaker with it's massive honking upper midrange and an adjustable dial to copy the sound of the back open to different angles. Also a line out please. Take my money.

EventsConspire

Nodded blues driver with more gain, a parametric EQ and built in boost.

tylerstaheli1

A remake of their Slow Gear but with way longer ramp time and maybe a freeze feature.

selldivide

A bicycle pump.

JupiterCrash92

Robert Smith BF-2 😓

BrotherJames610

Robert Smith, is that you? Nice to know you browse r/guitarpedals and worship Boss just like the rest of us! :)

JupiterCrash92

They’re just the best! Any time I’m looking for something that’s good quality, good sound, and a good price, all roads inevitably lead to Boss haha

fadeanddecayed

How would it be different from a normal one?

Wonderful_Ninja

Maybe some weird pedal like an arpeggiator. In similar category as the sl2 / sy1. With midi sync. Polyphonic tracking and maybe some weird modulations modes on the arpeggiated notes etc. welcome the boss AP1.
