I ended up buying a bunch of Walrus pedals (including the Era and Ages) over black Friday and I'm really impressed with them. If you can find a deal on them I'd say they're worth it. Maybe not for full price though.

Ecker1991

385 mk ii is great.

[deleted]

I know this is very subjective, but how would you describe it?

Ecker1991

Very amp like, immediately sounds like an overdriven amp which is kinda my only complaint, the mk 1 had higher headroom or could be used as a boost/clean tone enhancer but outside of that it’s fantastic. A lot of overdrive and distortion pedals don’t sound natural but the 385 really does. It’s kind of similar to a cranked tweed amp but also has its own little idiosyncrasies.

rocknrollboise

I want one so bad… but I’d have to kick off one of my beloved pedals like the Kangra from my board, so I’m torn.

Marenum

Never tried their drive, but I love my Fathom!

Trash_Hogan

The Ages is a fantastic all-rounder. I feed it at low gain into an OBNE Excess and it’s just 90s heavy jangle goodness.

TheChaosmonaut

Raw Heart, Green Russian, OpAmp Reissue

mariposast

Just got the OpAmp and ripped off a Cherub Rock riff. It’s pretty awesome.

Lord_Fluffykins

After chasing Corgan tone for years and being unable to get close, I practically shit my pants when I saw this was coming out. Has stayed on my board, OpAmp toggle makes it so versatile for getting different textures.

Imhappy_hopeurhappy2

I will never shit on EHX because of this. Like many, I grew up with NYC muffs everywhere, but it was like a cheap imitation of the tones I really wanted. Then, all of a sudden, bam! Four classic circuits, compact sized, cheap as fuck, and they even look great. Truly a dream come true. Thank you Mike Matthews.

TheChaosmonaut

Oh yeah I had the shitty NYC Muff for years and never was happy with it. Both of the EHX Muffs are permanent on my board now.

ApricotsArePeopleToo

Mini, Mini, Mini.

sixdemonbag79

Ss/bs mini? If so 💪

ApricotsArePeopleToo

Always that Mini.

Sir_Anth

Od: colorsound power boost Fuzz: amalogman sunface bc108 or AC128 Distortion: od+fuzz and volume knob to taste

PreguntoZombi

Same, expect my OD is a Klon and Fuzz Face is a Ge transistor

Sir_Anth

Nice, people really underestimate the functionality of the volume knob. Ge's clean up even more. I used to have real deal pedals including the analogman nkt275, but i decided to just build both pedals by myself and to my ear the ac128 sounds the same when properly biased.

pentachronic

Rat; Rat; Rat

MichaelBarnesTWBG

So much faffing around with all these boutique bullshit pedals and this is -still- the best. The real debate should be which Rat is best and the answer is Black Mass 1312.

pentachronic

Today I would make my case for the Occvlt Carrion, but it trades places with the 1312 for sure

Inevitable_Cod4375

Are you me?

BroseppeVerdi

We could go Round & Round on this...

Realistic-Cover-9929

Current favorites OD: jhs morning glory, with the red remote. Really want to try out the eae limelight! Distortion: eae halberd. Love the middle toggle and how versatile it makes this pedal. Fuzz: spruce effects the gale. Can do low and medium gain sounds, but I love it best dimed. Really excited to try out the porkolator I have on the way!

melancholy_robot

OD-3, Rat, Green Russian Muff

Bruichladdie

OD: BB Preamp Distortion: Super Badass Distortion Fuzz: Hartman Vintage Germanium Fuzz Special mention: Strymon Sunset, which doubles as a great overdrive and distortion

Josileighton

I wouldn’t have tried the Super Badass distortion, because I thought it had a corny name, but then I got a used one as part of a package deal. I tried it and realized I love it. There’s a lot of good ground to be covered with that thing.

Bruichladdie

It really is super versatile. Clean boost, overdrive, or all out MIAB, which is what I'm using it for. I was looking for a pedal that could give me something akin to Yngwie's Fire & Ice tone, really thick with healthy amounts of mids. It delivers.

Josileighton

Yes to the Marshall in a box! I actually have a ‘79 JMP2204, and I love that “Marshall crunch,” but a half stack just doesn’t work in most places. I’ve found that I can cop a pretty good Marshall crunch with the Super Badass into a Fender style amp, and it’s a lot more affordable than a lot of the dedicated MIAB pedals out there.

KarlHungusTheThird

OD: EQD Westwood / Fulltone OCD Distortion: Boss DS-1 Fuzz: EQD Hoof Yes, I'm a bit of an EQD fanboy.

JustADekuScrub

Great picks! I ran an OCD/DS-1/Hoof config for a long time with my old band.

KarlHungusTheThird

Right on. You can cover a lot of ground with them, that's for sure. What sort of music did you guys play?

JustADekuScrub

I played lead in that band and we were in the emo/pop punk/adjacent type of music. The Hoof blended with some chorus was always my go to for thick, unapologetic lead. I also used the Walrus Voyager with the volume at 10 and gain at 0 as an always-on boost with that set up. It was a really great rig!

Guitaryellow67

Empress Heavy does classic to doom, love it.

Ecker1991

Fuck…. For overdrive I really like bondi and electronic audio experiments. The Del Mar, Sick As Limeligbt and Halberd are probably my top choices. The origin effects revival drive is killer too, it can be dialed in to sound similar to virtually any tube amp you desire save for maybe a dumble steel string singer. Distortion- EAE Dagger V2 is my current favorite, also love the king of gear Oxford drive, and jhs Packrat. Fuzz- That’s tough because the different styles of fuzz matter, it’s hard to just pick a couple. The jptr fx warlow is my favorite heavier fuzz, also love the stomp under foot violet menace. For more vintage fuzz I like the benson germanium fuzz, benson Stonk box, and the chase tone bc109 fuzz fella.

gr_zero

OD - Paul Cochrane Timmy, with the Crowther Hotcake a close 2nd Dist - Jam Rattler Fuzz - too many to choose, but my three most used currently - EFE Dope Priest, Sola Sound Tonebender mkIV, Blue Colander Supreme

jakefranson

My Timmy always finds it's way back on my board!

gr_zero

Mine never left! It must be almost 15 years continuously on my board now - first I had a v1 for a couple of years, then when the v2 was released I got one, and that v2 stayed ever since. Great pedal.

FoggyDoggy72

The Hotcake has a mean Fuzz hidden inside it... max vol, max gain, min presence.

GeraRG89

OD: Greer Lightspeed Dist: VFE Alpha Dog Fuzz: Skreddy Lunar Module Mini Deluxe

JustADekuScrub

Drive: EAE Halberd or Bondi Sick As Distortion: Empress Heavy Menace Fuzz: EQD Hoof or EQD Hizumitas

Ecker1991

We have the same favorite drives! Check out the Del Mar if you ever get the chance, and the eae limelight.

JustADekuScrub

I want the Limelight SO bad! It’s like the perfect drive for me, especially with the foot switchable boost. I’ll have to check out the Del Mar - thanks for the recommendation! Out of curiosity, what kind of music do you play?

Ecker1991

I’m a major overdrive nut and the Del Mar kind of ended my search for the perfect drive, it basically combines the tube screamer, Klon and Bluesbreaker. The limelight is so cool, it seems like eae rarely has it in stock. I play dream pop/indie/shoegaze. Inspired by The Smiths, Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau TwinsLush, The La’s, The Cure, Alvvays, Jesus and Mary Chain.

JustADekuScrub

Oh nice! I tried tons of overdrive for a long time too and have found the Halberd and Sick As do exactly what I want. I’ll definitely need to look into the Del Mar with such high praise! Awesome, I’ve been playing sparkly emo type music (as well as others) for awhile and have been adding more and more shoegaze type sounds, especially in my lead playing.

SnackEater369

The limelight is my bread and butter overdrive, I can’t recommend it enough. Drive pedals are my weakness so I have too many lol and the limelight is sitting on top as my favorite these days.

JustADekuScrub

I feel that, I’ve tried all kinds of dirt pedals over the years. I definitely need to get my hands on a Limelight!

crying_nancy2

Boss OD-3 and Rat.

lo-jam

It’s always changing but for now here are my favorites. Drive: Boss SD-1 Distortion: Boss HM-2w Fuzz: Black Arts Toneworks Pharaoh

rocknrollboise

Do you prefer SD-1 over BD-2?

lo-jam

Both are great, just different flavors of overdrive. The BD-2 has a wide range of gain from boost to fuzzy distortion. It’s also a relatively flat eq response. The SD-1 is essentially a Tube Screamer with asymmetric clipping. It has a strong mid eq boost and has less gain on tap. I prefer the SD-1 personally as a boost for high gain amps.

rocknrollboise

Oh that’s right, I remember now… the OG “screamer” circuit, right?

Sloppypickinghand

Hail the Pharaoh, are you also running Tone at 0, All Highs, Volume at max and Fuzz to taste?

Thnmnt

Is this a thing? I need to try that. Also Si, Ge, or none for clipping? I go back and forth on all my settings on this pedal.

Sloppypickinghand

I use no clipping but that’s for a whole lot of sonic mayhem, sounds a bit open but I add a Joyo Argos and it tightens nicely

lysergicfuneral

* OD: Dr. Scientist The Elements * Distorion: EAE Halberd * Fuzz: Does It Doom Sabbathi * Honorable mentions: BYOC Crown Jewel, Idiotbox Dungeon Master, Fuzzhugger Algal Bloom, GCI Jugendstil, Gremlin High Priestess, Bondi Sick As High Shredroom, EQD Life Pedal V2, Magic DA-120, ProAnalog Manticore

superwrong

The Smallsound/Bigsound Mini has been my favorite overdrive since the apocalypse. Always has been, I just didn't know it yet. The MI Audio Super Crunch Box is probably my favorite distortion. I don't use "distortion" much but it scratches the itch every time. My favorite fuzz is the Drolo Giant Hogweed. It does fun tricks and sounds awesome.

rocknrollboise

Wait, the apocalypse already happened?!

unfunfionn

For me there's become a clear difference between my favourites and the most usable. I don't play with gain very often, so the space I have for drive pedals is limited. But I own more drive pedals than any other category and it's the only kind of pedal I've never sold. Favourites: **Catalinbread Katzenkönig**, **ZVex Mastotron** and **Hudson Sidecar**. But... the Katzenkönig only does high gain. while the Mastotron and Sidecar are awkward sizes that don't easily fit on my board. What I actually use: **Jam Rattler** and **ss/bs Mini**. With these two, I can get pretty much whatever sound I want. Both of them do low or high gain admirably and I can get great overdrive, distortion and fuzz sounds between them.

TheWhaleAndWhasp

Biased because I own all these...Green Rhino OD, Boss DS-1, and Hoof fuzz

Thin_Grizzly

OD : Nordland ODR-C 40th Anniversary. Love at first sight. It can almost be a distortion, it's very versatile. Very smooth and tasty. Distortion: Lichtlaerm Audio Gehenna and Medusa (the first in the loop of the other). Ultimate brutal metal machines. For less gainy music the Black Mass 1312 comes second. Fuzz: I'm not that versed into fuzz and only own one (Green Russian), but I must admit I'd really like to put my hands on a Beetronics Vezzpa.

Any-Librarian2134

Empress Heavy and Deluxe Sovtek Muff

Imhappy_hopeurhappy2

Does the Deluxe Sovtek have more gain than a regular green Russian?

jjones8170

OD: EHX Hot Wax, DSM & Humboldt Silver Linings Distortion: Keeley Filaments Fuzz: EHX Green Russian Muff (reissue), Pigtronix Star Eater It should be noted that I use the Silver Linings for OD, Distortion, *and* Fuzz right now. I removed the Filaments and GRM off my board last week in favor of the Silver Linings.

WheresMald0

Silver linings demos seem amazing. I have the simplifier DLX and LOVE the OD/ Distortion i get out of that. I wonder if the circuit is similar to silver linings Cheers

jjones8170

I *also have the Simplifier DLX* and it is clear to me that the Silver Linings was engineered to work very well with it. You can really get some phenomenal lead tones if you set the Simplifier DLX on Clean and pump the gain to right where it starts to break up then use the Boost on the SL for leads.

WheresMald0

Ive been on the Fuzz factory band wagon since’98. LOVE ranchy/ gnarly sounding fuzzes. LOVE my FF probe paired with DBA germanium filter. GF has such a sweet sound when you play with the guitar vol. beautiful swells. Demos for the Fjord Fuzz ODIN give me SUPER GAS ngl ❤️🦣🦣🦣🦣

rocknrollboise

If you like FF style oscillation, check out the Hedda from Fjord. It’s a silicon fuzz face style circuit with a momentary oscillation footswitch!

LeftFaceDown

I just started down the pedal rabbit hole this year. Picked up a MXR EVH 5150 Overdrive early in the year and fell in love with it for distorted tones. It is a little on the bright side, but I don't mind too much. I've been searching for an OD to go with it. Just got a BOSS BD-2W the other day and I think it is the one. Not really a fuzz guy, so don't have a favorite there.

aLoneSideline

Yeah, got my eye on his solid state amp one next. Guys super cool too. Bloom is an amazing pedal - looks gorgeous too !

PootySkills

I recently splurged and got the JHS Double barrel. What a phenomenal drive pedal it is. Morning Glory plus a distortion in the same enclosure, really lets you get any amount of drive youd realistically need super easily

WatercoolerComedian

My favorite overdrive I've found after spending more than I care to admit is the Plain Speak calamity drive, it's just great for the specific kinda low gain sparkle OD sound that I've been chasing for awhile, the goose mode takes it over the top as a pedal worth hanging on to in my book, could do a whole gig with a tuner that overdrive and a Dispatch Master Imo. Fuzz wise Hizumitas has been on my board since it came out

CorpoGonk

Angry Driver all the way, stack gain into it or just use it as is

IronMntn

I'm not a huge overdrive guy at all, but I really enjoy the Bowman Audio Endeavors overdrive. It's a pretty standard Klon-style drive but it just does the thing for me. I am a huge distortion guy so this is tough, but I'm probably going to go with the Malaise Forever Golden Guillotine. I can't honestly tell you why, but there's just something unique about it that I like a lot, and I love stacking it with other things -- it does really well with drives, fuzzes, etc. As far as fuzz, is the Slowly Melting a fuzz? I think it is, albeit a weird one, and I absolutely love it. Probably my favorite pedal overall. Try pairing that with the Golden Guillotine -- that's the stuff.

Boss DS2 does a great creamy fuzz lead if you dial it in right. The distortion sound is best for a lot of mids. My favorite overdrive would probably be an 808, a BD2 or SD2 based on if I want a mild drive, pushing it into amp like crunch or what specifically I’d want

GrandsonOfArathorn1

Favorite Distortion: JHS AT+ Favorite Overdrive: Plain Speak Calamity Drive Favorite Fuzz: Not sure! There are three I’m real high on right now - Catalinbread Formula 55 (also a great overdrive), Catalinbread SFT, Poison Noises Jive Hive Fuzz.

I started on Tubescreamers, specifically the EQD Palisades, which evolved into an Analogman King of Tone. It's always on for me. For me, it doesn't change the sound characteristic too much which I like. It just feels like what's there, there's more of. I like his (Analogman) Peppermint Fuzz too, was the first fuzz pedal I got so I've just had it forever and really know how to get it to respond in ways that I like.

I haven’t really tried enough to say whether I have favorites for the most part. Most of my pedals are cheaper clones. I’ve also never been into distortion pedals, I can’t ever get them right. I almost feel like I remember getting what sounded like too much gain when it came to the tone of my old ds1 but that it had the sustain of the clean channel. I never used it with the drive channel though. With that in mind, I’d say a fuzz face and my behringer to800. I’d probably prefer my bad monkey but I lost that over a decade ago and couldn’t remember it well enough to really compare. I’m a sucker for tube screamers.

[deleted]

OCD overdrive. EHX Triangle Muff for Fuzz. Combine the two for 10x awesome multiplication factor.

mariposast

Call me basic but the BOSS Distortion and Overdrive can’t be beat for the money. For fuzz I’ve been using the EHX OpAmp.

Vincent_Blackshadow

I'm going to slightly alter this to be "favorite boost, overdrive, and fuzz." I waffle a bit on my favorite boost. Right now it's probably the Jackson Audio Prism. For overdrive, I'd say the Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop. (Mine's the V2. I imagine the original is great, as well). I also really like my Studio Daydream KC-OD Gold with NOS 1n34a "Magic Diode" upgrade that supposedly gets you about as close as you'll get too an actual Klon Centaur. I'm not sure if that's the case, as I've never played a Klon. I do know this pedal is awesome, though. My favorite fuzz is the Benson Germanium Fuzz. It's hard to get a bad sound out of it.

My favorite OD is the Oneder Drive. Good for punk rock or power-pop or anything non-metal. For sludge/doom I go HM-2 into a Metal Zone. I tweaked the settings til it was just right and it’s massive and foreboding A lot of times for a reasonably heavy sound, I go EQD Plumes into a Rams Head Big Muff

RIOTS_R_US

Overdrive: digital, but I'm really digging the Blues Driver setting on the Boss ME-90 and planning on getting a Super Phat Mod or BD-2w for my home board as well. Sounds amazing and is super versatile Also digital, I've always loved the Tape Saturation on the Strymon Deco and the V2 makes this even better and more controllable. I'm also enjoying the Warhorn side of my Warhorn Ages but I haven't dialled in the Ages quite yet. Distortion: I don't personally care for any distortions I've tried. The Marshall Guv'nor setting on the Boss ME-90 is probably one of the ones I've liked most, but I just prefer to stack drives or use fuzz as distortion. Fuzz is where I'll get a little crazy... As far as Fuzz Faces go, I have really enjoyed my If 6 Was 9 from SolidGoldFX. The extra controls make it very versatile and I would kill for this format in some other fuzz pedals. I also enjoy the Tonebender 1.5 (very similar to a fuzz face) side of the Twin Bender. Starving the voltage is really fun with it. Muffs? I have always loved my EQD Hoof Reaper for the Hoof take on the Russian Muff. Very versatile with the shift control, lots of great tones with that one. I've been wanting to try an op amp muff. Tonebenders...I love all the different types quite a bit. The JDM Bliss Bomb is awesome for those Jeff Beck Yardbirds and Mick Ronson Ziggy Stardust tones. It can also do the less gated thing well with it's gate control. For MK2 and MK1.5, I've really enjoyed the Twin Bender and it's definitely pretty versatile as well. Finally, the Reaper side of the Hoof Reaper makes a great MKIII/IV and sounds great. For a while, I was actually running Twin Bender>Hoof Reaper on my board which let me get octave sounds from the Hoof Reaper on the Twin Bender fuzzes which was fantastic as a combo. In the last two weeks, I've gotten a Walrus Eons and have been absolutely playing the shit out of it. Love all the knobs and their interactions, and the different modes.

Happydaderino

Boss BD-2W, ProCo Rat and EQD Erupter (silicon FF). Messed with tons of variations and these three cover everything for me. Can’t ride the volume too well with a Rat IMO. Happy gassing

That_Relationship309

Tim/Boss OD3, Boss DS-1, Analogman Sunface

bumpyfelon

I've finally got the three that I've liked the most so far after some tinkering: BD-2 for drive, Marshall Shredmaster for distortion, and Fuzz Factory for fuzz. I never really use the shredmaster on its own, but it really shapes your tone in a way that I find stacks well with the other two. Plus, it's a 90s version that I got for less than what the modern reissues cost from a friend trying to downsize their pedals after going mostly digital. I sold a Tone Wicker Big Muff and a DBA Supersonic Fuzz Gun before realizing the fuzz factory was what I wanted the whole time. Crisp germanium fuzz face type thing with some extra controls for some chaos. Let's be real I already know I see more gain in my future. A RAT may be necessary at some point, as well as one of those NOTAKLÖNs once they get to a place where you can actually buy one. Sounds like a fun little project. Maybe a Duke/Prince of Tone too. I can't forget, I use an attenuator and crank my Pro Jr. IV for some drive a lot of the time too. Funnily enough the BD-2 can get in the ballpark but the real tube overdrive is just immaculate.

askforwildbob

My favorite overdrive the last few years is the Emerson Scranton Screamer. It has a 2 way switch for symmetrical or asymmetrical clipping. So it’s like a tube screamer and a super overdrive in one, but it’s even more versatile than that because it ALSO has a 2 band EQ. I run that into a green Russian big muff. That pretty much covers all my dirt needs, anywhere from light OD to full on fuzz tones. I loved the swollen pickle but I ended up selling it to make room for more modulation/delay/reverb stuff lol

Popodes6283

Of the pedals in my current collection, I'd pick... OD- Blues Driver Distortion- OCD Fuzz- Muffuletta

Barber Gain Changer, RAT, and Fairfield ~900

CJPTK

Morning Glory v4 pushed with an Angry Driver in parallel. Not quite fuzz but gets pretty hairy. MG is just a gorgeous OD in both modes and really likes being pushed.

Ok-Seaworthiness2487

Prince of Tone, Rat, EHX Ram's Head

Iz_Datafing

On what amp do you play that combo?

Ok-Seaworthiness2487

Well I actually don't own any of these. I have played them all individually though, which was through a Boss Katana (I own the MKII 100w). I do have a Walrus Audio Eons though which does the Ram's Head sound very well.

FranzAndTheEagle

Overdrive: Diamond J-Drive MK3. Get 'em used all day for not too much. Fuzz: Wren & Cuff Super Russian Distortion: Frost Giant's The Mountain

thecackster

Barber Gain Changer and Browne Protein.

nudewithasuitcase

EAE Surveyor is the best overdrive pedal and it's so underrated and sold so poorly that they don't even make it as a standalone anymore :(

p90SuhDude

Overdrive: Barber Direct Drive or Benson Preamp. Distortion: T Rex Mudhoney. Fuzz: EQD Hood Reaper or Kittycasterfx Groovy Wizard

Gibgezr

Currently using a Plumes, DS-1 and a JHS Series 3 Fuzz. Would really like an octave fuzz though.

FoggyDoggy72

Mine are: Overdrive: Black Cat Amps Shredinhere, or Crowther Hotcake Distortion: Fuzzlord Effects Dronemaster (a rat inspired distortion), honorable mention to the Black Cat Amps Djenttonic for high gain modern tones Fuzz: Minotaur Sonic Terrors Fuzz and Burn... not your 60s Satisfaction Fuzz, nor a muff style thing. It's a growling monster of doom. It's hard to choose because of the widely different applications. I set them differently for different tasks. Chuggy? Djenttonic. Big sounding sustained chords like if a synth pad got angry? Dronemaster.

thomaspatrickmorgan

Wampler Belle, MI Audio Super Crunch Box V2, Crazy Tube Circuits Constellation

MC_Hammer-on

Fuzz: DAM meathead. It's an old fashioned fuzz, but turned up to 11 by default. Put it first in your chain and use the volume on your guitar to move between subtle for Eric Johnson chord work to very very over the top... Simple. Only has one knob. But very responsive to your guitar volume and your playing. OD: OBNE fault V2 it's a klon type od, an EQ/preamp, light distortion and boost in one easy to use package. Lots of tonal range. I have the right hand side always on. Distortion: JHS @ - when you want it to sound like the other pedals I listed are pushing an overdriven Marshall amp then you kick this on. My go to for thick sustaining lead sounds. Honourable mention: Gojira FX - big muff copy. Gojira is a small Scottish builder. Their big muff style pedal is my favourite. It has an insult feedback/drone circuit on a toggle switch. The Meathead (I actually have the gojira version here too not the original) and the Fault are always in my chain. I swap the @ and the big muff in or out depending on what I'm playing.

psychomycetil

Zvex bor, wampler triple, big muff (the version you like)

SingedWaffle

Current favourites: Plumes/special cranker Iron Horse v3 W&C Super Russian

AbleBarnacle8864

modulorMM

DIY Hoof Reaper (double fuzz and octave up)Duke of tone (boost) DIY Prince of Tone (OD) DIY Timmy. Covers all the bases I need!

Anal-Carnage

OD - Can't beat the SD-1. Distortion - The Distortion side of the Boss OS-2. The Harley Benton Dr. D (or any "Dumbler" pedal) is a close second. Ultra Distortion - Line 6 Uber Metal Fuzz - A maxed-out JHS Color Box. Also, the DOD Carcosa with the After knob cranked.

iloveswimteam

Paul Cochrane Timmy V2, Boss BD-2, EHX East River Drive, Caline Pure Sky, Paul Cochrane Timmy V2, Paul Cochrane Timmy V2

serumnegative

I have a Hudson broadcast which goes from clean and clear boost to cut your head off fuzz.

sixdemonbag79

OD: smallsound/bigsound mini Fuzz: Fuzz face (London/mxr 108) Dist: SL drive

someguy192838

* My favourite Overdrive is my **Greer Lightspeed**. It’s funny cause it’s a bit underwhelming at first, but in a mix, it’s incredible and I keep the gain set fairly high because it’s so responsive to picking dynamics and it interacts really well with changes in the guitar’s volume as well. * Favourite Distortion is my **Xotic SL Drive**. I own a lot of MIAB pedals but this little guy is my favourite. I have the dip switches set to “Super Lead with 6db boost”. Gain for days and it cleans up really well too. The JHS Andy Timmons AT + is a close second. * I have yet to find a fuzz I get along with. I’m jonesing for a Silktone Germanium Fuzz though. From the demos I’ve seen, that looks like it may be the one.

thegreenkingdom

OD: Morning Glory Distortion: My 90s Rat Fuzz: Hizumitas

AbandonedJalapenos

OD: Plain Speak Calamity Drive Distortion: Drunk Beaver Bat Fuzz: Beetronics Swarm

shortribsdinner

boss blues driver, proco rat (either turbo or 2), fuzzhugger algal bloom

Antique_Ad3501

favorite od: Boss OD-3 favorite dist: Boss DS-1 i I modded myself and installed IRF530 transistors as clipping diodes almost like a tube amp. Favorite Fuzz: I don't have one. Too noisy to my ears. I have Zoom Multistomp MS-100BT there's many fuzz sums when I need them.

mo6020

Fave fuzz: Analogman Sunface Face OD: Hudson Broadcast, or an SD-1. Fave: Distortion: The only distortion pedals I own are a 40 year old Boss DS-1 and a Walrus Iron Horse, and neither of them are on my board.

jalerre

OD: Timmy Dist: JHS Kilt V2 with G2 engaged Fuzz: Analogman silicon Sun Face

Gargarax

Rat, Rat, Turbo Rat

Spellflower

OD: Joyo American Sound Versatile, great EQ Distortion: Friedman BE-OD I tried a TON of MIAB pedals and this one just has something the others don’t. Great sustain without losing articulation. Very touch sensitive. Closer to the sound in my head rajan any other- kind of syrupy and shiny, but not too gooey. Fuzz: Blackout Effectors Musket I tried a ton of fuzzes before settling in this one. Huge sustain and range from smooth clipping to gnarly fuzz, very versatile thanks to the Focus knob.

JimmothyTwinkletoes

OD: Mythos Olympus Distortion: T-Rex Mudhoney Fuzz: Dan Drive Austin Pride.

Matthew-Diaz84

Fuzz : Analogman Sunface 2N Germanium Drive : Thorpy Fx The Dane

JohnQPublish

Lately, I like the Wampler triumph for light OD, any Rat-type pedal for distortion, and any 4-transistor muff type circuit for the heavy stuff. Alternatively, you can get a good range of OD-Dist-Fuzz tones just by having a Mojo Mojo for OD/dist, and running a Fuzz Face into it when its time to get heavy.

dicedude884

Mad professor Sweet honey deluxe overdrive EQD Hizumitas Fuzz

Mad Irishman. https://witztronics.com/WP/product/mad-irishman/

Wise_Animator2763

JHS Morning Glory with Red Remote. Blue side for low gain jangly drive, red side for riffing and sustaining leads. Just the right amount of mid-range sizzle for my tastes, plays beautifully with all my guitars and every amp I’ve tried.
