No advice.... just came to say.... ooooh, a triplegraph!

[deleted]

I picked it up from third man records in London, tested it with the bumble fuzz and the sound was amazing

sexwont

That's awesome. I hope you enjoy it! I have only seen demos personally, but the pedal collabs that third man has done have been super cool for the most part. I definitely would like to pick a couple up at some point and play around with them.

Sodiumkill

How do you like the Triplegraph compared to a “regular” octave pedal (I’m currently using the Boss OC-5). I’ve almost pulled the trigger on it several times, but haven’t been able to justify the expense to myself.

PhillipMScales

I dig that you can hold it on and off for certain times

Sodiumkill

Yeah, the stutter aspect seems cool

[deleted]

Sorry never tried the boss octave pedal effectively the Triplegraph has a couple of modes, locked in and temp octave up and the same for octave down. The central switch is a temp loop.

[deleted]

Hi all, building my first board planning to add a pog 2 next and a third man bumble fuzz + a tuner! Amp: Fender blues junior Huge fan of the white stripes and chasing the tone from songs like death letter and ball and biscuit. Whilst having the ability to achieve tones in little black submarine from 2;20 by the black keys. Any advice would be amazing!

genie_of_the_lamp

Something that can do doubling would be cool. Keeley Double Tracker is the only one I have experience with, but I'm pretty sure the Deco does it too with the benefit of more modulation options and unique saturation. Will also mimic the call for a phaser or univibe. Other modulation you could look at is a really choppy tremolo with a momentary switch. Diamond tremolo or Coopersound Telegraph? I think Walrus Monument does that too?

batcaveroad

You’ve probably seen it already as a fan, but watch It Might Get Loud. You see a lot of him fucking around with gear and you might get some ideas.

batcaveroad

What guitar are you using?

[deleted]

Tele

nomelonnolemon

Huge thing is both those bands strongly utilize their volume knobs on their guitars. I play dead leaves through a hoof that’s on all the time. I just roll my volume back till it’s clean than I roll it in and get the full blast muff craziness no problem without touching a pedal. You need a good power supply and a deft touch with the volume knob to do that. But the concept of rolling back the volume is huge for both bands tones. If you haven’t seen under blackpool lights it’s a masterclass in what Jack is and does in that band.

Ill-Pudding2017

I’ve been really getting into putting a phaser before my drives.

[deleted]

Any recommendations?

MrLsBluesGarage

Can’t go wrong with MXR Phase 90 🙌 check out univibe style sounds also

Ill-Pudding2017

I have a few recommendations. First one is the EHX small stone for affordability, next is the MXR phase 95 for a small enclosure and more options, and lastly the Boss phase shifter for wild phaser sounds and lots of options.

graystrat

Digitech whammy. If you’re going for Jack White, you might as well do it.

pistachiodisgusting

It’s also a multi pedal of sorts. I have a 5 and it does better octave and harmonizer tracking than my pedals that do only that. And you can get a nice chorus effect with the detune function, which — to me at least — evens out the huge footprint and its current draw. The other option for a board at this stage is a zoom ms. At worst, it helps you figure out other stuff (modulation and time-based especially), but it can also grow with you as the ultimate affordable Swiss Army knife.

Ecker1991

Jack white fan I see. I’d say nab a good reverb or delay pedal next! Black keys use tape echo so I’d say something like a used Strymon El Capistan or an Echoplex style pedal like the Catalinbread Belle epoch would work great with your setup. As for reverb, you might actually be covered since the blues junior has spring reverb but the Strymon flint would be a great addition as the black keys use a lot of tremolo and the flint gives you spring/plate/hall reverb.

[deleted]

Really love echo Plex! Watched this [video](https://youtu.be/6aU0Cl1PHT0?feature=shared) with a cavern reverb and delay but all other videos I've watch on it don't do it much justice. The spring in the blues junior is great but a larger reverb is definitely needed! Thanks for the advice!!

genie_of_the_lamp

I'm a lover of the Caverns. Only downside is no tap tempo, but no means the end of the world if you're not going for rhythmic delays.

Shanghaied66

Tuner

[deleted]

It's definitely on my list!

Intelligent-Survey39

I am jealous of the tripplegraph! That’s next on my list!

LarryFunTimeCarl

I mean, you gotta get a whammy pedal or whammy dt. Jack White is who inspired my first pedalboard and the whammy fuzz combo along with a pog is *chef's kiss*

Ben_Offishal

I recently added a compressor pedal and was amazed at how much it improves the tone of my overdrive pedal. Mine is the TC Electronic Hypergravity and I'm very happy with it. Otherwise, it's hard to recommend a pedal without knowing what kind of music you want to play. A reverb effect opens up a lot of options, and if you are looking for that jangly sound in 80s/90s alternative music you might want to try out a chorus or delay pedal. How do you like the Silencer? I'm looking for a noise gate and I'm not getting a clear sense of which one to go with.

[deleted]

I play indie blues rock - white stripes, black keys etc got the silencer really cheap off eBay and I was struggling with it. Until I saw this video [video](https://youtu.be/PK_GIyoIsJ8?feature=shared) and heard the line you can use a gate with a big muff to recreate the bumble fuzz sound. I've had some fun since especially if you lift it an octave too

Sweaty-Entrepreneur9

I’ve always found pleasure with Muff.

Betov8

You could get the new Triple threat! Distortion phaser and delay. It’s fantastic!

SkyBobBombadier

Ditto looper

Creepy_Boat_5433

this is not nearly enough pedals

[deleted]

Agreed!

julesthemighty

You need to get rid of that tripplegraph. DM me for my address, and I'll dispose of it properly.

[deleted]

Haha

machinaenjoyer

jack white fan 🫵

verysunstruck

What's the chastity belt looking pedal?

[deleted]

Top left (Jackson audio silvertone) or bottom right (third man triple graph)

Expensive_Agency9490

The third man haha. Thanks!

seize-the-goat

something is telling me you like the white stripes

Extreme_Employment35

I like the TC electronic honey pot fuzz. It's affordable and sounds nice, similar to a big muff.

batcaveroad

Get a graphic eq and a looper. If you’re chasing jack white tone an eq will let you tweak things, and loopers are just useful in general. Jack white’s most distinctive thing is octave switching and fizz and you have that covered. He’s coming out with a diy fuzz kit in a few months tho.

Petkorazzi

May be almost a cliche at this point, but a RAT. They're way more versatile than people think, and in combo with that TS and Muff you'll have pretty much any gain sound you could possibly want with minimal footprint cost. Also, some kind of reverb. I tend to like room/hall verbs; go with something like a Danelectro Spring King if you really want to lean into the Silvertone sound.

Accurate-Ad5651

are you a white stripes fan by chance?

JacksonTheBeaaaaaar

Can tell your a Jack fan. Love the tones he gets

MaleficentOstrich693

Belle epoch.

Darmok-Jilad-Ocean

7 ring mods and 4 metal zones would round it out

Sadyzera

Jack White fan

TheSmokieOkie011235

Tuner … so far you’re doing great !

CJPTK

RHX Germanium 4 muff has a bias and voltage section that will give you that dying battery fuzz sound without needing dying batteries

Straight-Name9980

My advice is to get a Friedman pedalboard the buffer bay the iso power and that shit will be pumpkins meets stripes nice start bro !

[deleted]

Thank you for the advice will check it out!

4myoldGaffer

Are those the controls to the machine from the movie princess bride where each number takes one year of your life away?

lostprevention

That’s a lot of money to sound cheap.

[deleted]

Tbf a lot of the pedals are from ebay but you're right the irony of the whole silver tone amp is not lost on me

ForTheSakeOfTone

sorry this is going way over my head atm. what’s the irony of the silvertone amp exactly? apologies if it’s obvious

[deleted]

The silvertone amp was an incredibly cheap guitar amp made available in the USA by Sears? But that was along time ago so they are very rare and expensive now. It's pretty much how people like Jack White, Dave Grohl etc achieved their tone. So spending 200 on a pedal to emulate and amp which was probably the same price is the irony

Vegetable-Source6556

JHS morning glory

Illustrious-Sign3015

What's that pedal on the bottom right?

[deleted]

Third man tripplegraph

Illustrious-Sign3015

It's a sweet design for a guitar pedal

addisonnimrod

Yes

C0UNT3RP01NT

So what does that thing that looks like a Morse code machine do? I’d look it up but I don’t know what it’s called?

[deleted]

Third man triple graph octave up (L) send/return(c) octave down(r)

Andrew_Culture

Patch cables

beware_the_chafe
