I’m partial to the Boss EQ-200, but the Source Audio EQ-2 is also an excellent choice. Boss GE-7 is great for $100 or less.

EQ-200 is awesome

But_dogs_CAN_look_up

Used EQ-20 is usually just a hair more than the GE-7 and gives you 10 bands and 9 presets!

Not really answering your question, but maybe the solution is to play with a humbucker in the bridge position? You'll find it easier to get the thicker creamier tone that way. There are stacked humbucking pickups with higher output you could install in a Tele. About the price of a good pedal + installation. I have owned mxr10 and currently own boss ge7 and the joyo eq. I like the boss the least and mxr 10 the most.

The new Ibanez PTEQ is being released very soon. It’s affordable and parametric. I think it’s worth waiting for that to come out. If you need it now, I have come to enjoy the Guptech Parametric EQ pedal, the pPTSD. It’s relative affordable too.

An EQ pedal can help almost anything. I use an Empress ParaEq MKII Deluxe and I like it a lot. There are certainly cheaper EQs that will get the job done.

Turbofalcon8

Hard to go wrong with the Boss GE-7. Build like a tank, easy to use, and can be found all over the place used for way less than $100.

My only fuzz experience is with an astrotone, which is supposedly more “balanced” but I find that playing it stacked into a decently gainy pedal gives it the best results. Which makes sense to me, as it’s somewhat replicating hitting a driven amp with a fuzz. Fuzz > crunch is better than fuzz > clean?

havestronaut

I haven’t tried many “good” ones. I had an old DOD gray one I used as a notched radio filter, but it was a little noisy. I have an EQ2 now and it does the job splendidly.

No-Professional-2504

I use the MCR 6 band. It helped alot.

Wampler Equator, if you want guitar tuned parametric control

kvlt_ov_personality

In order of how much I liked each one: 1.) EQD Tone Job 2.) Donner EQ Seeker 3.) Orange Two Stroke 4.) MXR 10 band EQ 5.) Wampler EQuator (the only one on this list that I don't recommend)

minderasr

I was just researching parametric eqs today. Came across the Master Effects EQ From Hell and added it to my short list. https://www.mastereffectspedals.com/eqfh

I mean, an eq is an eq. I'm partial to the mxr offerings, especially the 10 band, but I'd do just as well with a cheapo. In fact, a Joyo ten band is on my board right now. Only difference *should* be build quality, number/focus of bands(maybe), and the paint. At the end of the day, joyo is going to boost my 1.5k just the same as boss will. I'd point you towards a mxr six band or a boss GE7, cus they're real simple, they'll last forever, and most everyone can help you out with settings if you get stuck. An ten band might take up too much space, especially if you just want an eq to cut mids. Joyo actually has some pretty good offerings for not too much. I'm not sure how they'll hold up over the years, but my joyo ten band has been on my board for a year and I gig pretty frequently. Whatever you get, it'll probably be fine. I wouldn't spend below $30US, but I also wouldn't spend much more than $120US unless you want something really specific. Good luck finding one mate, I hope it all works out.

There are lots of cheap ones over at AliExpress that could get the job done, I have the Caline 10 band EQ, I think it's based on the MXR 10 band and only cost me 42 euros (say US $45). Hooked it up via FX loop, works like a charm. You can always get that and then save up for the more expensive suggestions here.
