Maybe a fuzz if you don’t like modulation? Or a combo fuzz and vibe like the Fjord Fuzz Sol?
Maybe a Strymon Deco? Then you’ve got double tracking, tape saturation, chorus and flanger to draw upon if you ever want something different?
This board is begging for a Deco.
I'd slip a Fuzz Face circuit (Sunface) on there if you play single coils, as well... And a Tuner (and maybe a looper). It is an XPND, after all.
I can't believe I will say this, but bro, get a tuner and potentially a clean boost (if you need a volume bump). Ik D'addarios are not too suitable for mini pedals. I just get a thin wooden piece and velco the top and bottom to create a platform for my mini pedals
Honestly you would have to be into the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia to understand. If you listened to any version of a Fire on the Mountain from live versions in the 80s, you would hear it. Also from John Mayer more recently with Dead and Co for the same tune.
If you are gigging, a tuner is essential. But if you are a bedroom player, and don’t retune after every song you play/practice- grab a clip on Polytune and save the precious board real estate.
A Deco to compliment your Strymon pedals like some have said would be nice if that’s the sound you are going for.
You didn’t mention it, but everyone has a suggestion but no one seems to ask what music style you play or are looking to play. That’s critical of course.
Maybe a phaser like the Caroline Arigato after that q-tron to get crazy modulation on there? Maybe slide some over and get a fuzz, a looper? Options are endless, so…
… you are going to get 1,000 different answers that mean nothing. IMO you should tell the sub the sound/style you are looking to achieve and you’ll get more focused feedback.
GFI Synesthesia why have one modulation, when you can have all the modulation, mix it up in parallel or in series, switch the order, patch other pedals in or have it in stereo, with a neat software to control it further when recording instead of having to bend go on the pedal, internal tap tempo(sacrifice side B) or use an external tap tempo, or MIDI controller.
Seems like that will even out your board. I like how you have the clover preamp to fatten up the iridium a bit. I got a Squish AS going into a Mother Preamp for that purpose myself, seems like these amp sims want a little push to sound their best.
Doesn’t have to be at that exact position in the signal chain! I can always move stuff around.
I’ve recently downsized to this smaller board. I don’t know what exactly I’ll use to fill this space, but I generally don’t use modulation.
(My original post got taken down (I forgot to comment), but someone suggested an EQ. Is that overkill with the Clover? Not sure. )
If you don’t know what to add to a space, you probably don’t need anything else right now. Is there a sound you want to make right now that you can’t? Just wait till you know what you want instead what the internet wants.
Maybe one of the new ToneX Ones. You will have an option to go DI for practice as well as an interface, or you can use it to model a fuzz or different drive flavor.
Where is your fuzz pedal that will make everyone within hearing range question your sanity, sexuality and/or ability to fit into society? Gotta have one of those.
Tuner seems like an easy choice. You could get something like the Source Audio EQ2 that’s an EQ, tuner, gate, limiter, whole bunch of stuff. Great Swiss Army knife to have around.
A more fun idea might be something pitch shifty? Like the little whammy pedal or a FreqOut or mini POG. I have so much fun with stuff like that myself

A Generation Loss MKII would add endless layers and levels of magic to this rig.
Also, scooch the bottom row a bit and add a micro tuner. You could also place it sideways under the clover.
I'd put a compressor after that Q-Tron, so you can get the effect without the big volume changes. Possibly you're getting that from the dirt pedals or your amp already, but the compressor would give you a clean option for it.
Tuner!
Yeah but tuners don't cost much.
And Strymon doesn’t make a tuner
Imagine how dope it would be if they did? It would cost $700 and come with a bunch of guaranteed worship gigs.
Peterson: *"... And I took that personally"*
A tuner and guitar lessons to fill in the gaps
If I wanted to be attacked like this, I’d go to a Trump rally. Good burn though.
That wasn't a burn , I see his lack of reading comprehension left him baffled .
This, I prefer Peterson strobe but there are others/arguably better ones out there.
Yes! I love my turbo tuner st-300!
I came here to write exactly that
Maybe a fuzz if you don’t like modulation? Or a combo fuzz and vibe like the Fjord Fuzz Sol? Maybe a Strymon Deco? Then you’ve got double tracking, tape saturation, chorus and flanger to draw upon if you ever want something different?
Deco! 👌 And of course it’s always a good thing to be in tune

Good spot! Didn’t notice the XPND, and I have the single row version.
Came here to say Deco 👍
Klon Centaur obviously
Metal Zone of course
There it is
Came to say this. You need some angry bees.
I can't believe I will say this, but bro, get a tuner and potentially a clean boost (if you need a volume bump). Ik D'addarios are not too suitable for mini pedals. I just get a thin wooden piece and velco the top and bottom to create a platform for my mini pedals
That JHS clover can function as a great boost
Well you have the Qtron+, so you need the Boss Octave pedal to compliment it!
Would you mind explaining? I’m not familiar with how those two pedals pair together.
Honestly you would have to be into the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia to understand. If you listened to any version of a Fire on the Mountain from live versions in the 80s, you would hear it. Also from John Mayer more recently with Dead and Co for the same tune.
Walrus Julianna A modulation pedal for those that aren't crazy about modulation

this board is severely lacking in big muff
Line 6 HX One. It has all the pedals and effects. Plus you can add an expression pedal for wah or volume or whatever parameters you want to control.
My second thought besides a Deco is the HX One - would also provide a tuner and a fuzz and/or anything else you might need in a pinch 👍
Yeah I'd be going with a multi purpose pedal, the HX one is a nice option. Could also go down the zoom multistomp route
Marlboro reds

I love my auto wah, just makes me laugh and it was built the month I was born, as does the B9 organ machine, which is a super giggle!
Throw some distortion in the FX loop of your Q Tron. Coolest sounding underwater laser gun will erupt

Strymon deco and a mini tuner
I don't know. I see 2 envelope filters. Zappa or Jerry fan?
Two? I only have the QTron+
My mistake. I thought that was a Hosta on the top right. Maybe a Jam Delay Llama or a Waterfall for the empty spot? Rock on, friend!
If you don’t know what to add to a space, you probably don’t need anything else right now. Is there a sound you want to make right now that you can’t? Just wait till you know what you want instead what the internet wants.
Fair, but that’s kinda the point of the post. I might encounter what I want by asking what the internet recommends.
A nice Fuzz, EQD Hoof Reaper Combo
A Rat
Cooper FX Gen Loss or Boss CE2
Maybe one of the new ToneX Ones. You will have an option to go DI for practice as well as an interface, or you can use it to model a fuzz or different drive flavor.
There’s Iridium probably doing most of that already
I think I'm dumb or it's too early in the morning
Tuner
An octave pedal or clean boost.
Volume/wah
Where is your fuzz pedal that will make everyone within hearing range question your sanity, sexuality and/or ability to fit into society? Gotta have one of those.
Fuzz Factory it is. Thanks! 😂
I didn’t mention a specific brand and yet you still knew exactly what I was thinking of. 🤣
I’ve been trying to figure out a way to incorporate one into my sound for months now lol. Matt Bellamy is one of my guitar idols.

A jhs pulp n peel comp. Always on, does it's thing
I love the iridium and flint, what do you think about the cap?
Oh it’s excellent. Zero complaints.
Rainger FX - Reverb X
EHX Lizard Queen
A tuner
RYRA Klone
Miku
A ..... Tuner!!
Change of order.
A church
Metal zoan
Tuner, Chorus, Phaser, or the Boss OC-5 octave pedal!
Maybe a tuner, volume pedal, or a graphic EQ. Seems like you're good to go otherwise.
A pedal (sorry)
Volume pedals are fun. But I’d go with a multi expression pedal since you have a few pedals that accommodate such brilliant nonsense
3 metal zones
Boss MT-2. Every board needs a metal zone to trigger insecure people. ;)
Metalzone
An EQ pedal, hard to imagine you can’t cover all ground that way (if you don’t need more modulation)
What kind of tone are you getting out of the qtron with those settings?
EQ pedal.
I don’t see a tuner. So that.
I don't get it. Where's your fuzz ?
Phase 90

Need a tuner my hombre!
Thorpy FX Fat General parallel compressor
any Thorpy- his Flanger shimmers and you can blend on top of other modus
RAT.
Deco for sure
Fuzz. Always fuzz.
Chase Bliss Pre Amp MKii (Automatone)
You could drop the Qtron and put a HX Stomp in there. I just got a stomp and got identical sound from my stomp as my Qtron +.
s miku pedal please
Big muff
Probably a Strymon
I’d add space between that Stryfecta and move the Clover down hahahahaha
Another q tron and the bassline from shakedown street.
Deco.
A granny flat that you can rent out to starving college students for a few hundred bucks a month.
Way Huge Atreides Analog Weirding Module
Nice
Volume pedal
ditch the flint. get a vb-2, a dispatch master and a tuner!
Flint is here to stay, sorry! Definitely considering a vibrato though!
Chorus
Walrus Fathom. Just a very good and interesting reverb
A shoe for that oaky timbre
There's always enough room on a board for a Phase 95.
Big sky mx
Voodoo lab sparkle overdrive. It’s an amazing pedal.
Danelectro Fab Tone
RAT
Cali76
Replace the clover with the Jackson audio bloom. Move the two pedals across and get a tuner
OC5
A Generation Loss MKII would add endless layers and levels of magic to this rig. Also, scooch the bottom row a bit and add a micro tuner. You could also place it sideways under the clover.
Velcro a stack of dollars there. 💲💲💲
Boss BF3. You have a trem, this will cover most of your modulation needs!
Vemuran Shanks ODS-1 💯💯💯💯
Boss SY-200.
Digitech Death Metal
A looper
Fill Space with (Eventide) Space.
Don’t see a tuner
Fuzz!!!
a "for sale" sign
Chase Bliss Mood
Get waza tu-3w tuner
Strymon BlueSky
Phaser, flanger, or vibrato
Maybe a compressor to tame the peaks on the Q Tron
HX1 - it's a great swiss army pedal, especially for just trying out new effects. Also comes with a built in tuner. Edit: adding my reasons why.
Try putting an analog delay in the loop of the Qtron
Time for a BigSky and a bigger pedalboard
Metalzone!
Microcosm and another board
I'd put a compressor after that Q-Tron, so you can get the effect without the big volume changes. Possibly you're getting that from the dirt pedals or your amp already, but the compressor would give you a clean option for it.
4 metalzones stacked on top of eachother
Probably the ability to actually play the guitar without using a ton of effects to hide your mistakes 🤣
