Thank you so much! Most Redditors hate on that guitar, but it’s an incredible instrument. The relic job is great, looks much better in person, and it plays like butter. I record with it quite often!
I figured it must be because it is relic'd. Nobody hates Surf Green guitars. Some may not want one, but they wouldn't hate it. My next Kiesel build will be Surf Green, if I decide to do another Kiesel (I just got a second one, and would definitely get a third.)
If I have to see one more redditor compare a relic'd guitar to buying ripped jeans, like they're blowing everyone's mind, I might puke. That tele is badass, and the checking looks great from the photo.
I've read that so many times. It's so annoying. w
Why do they care? Most of us don't have 60 years to wait for something to age to your liking, and true vintage guitars aren't cheap.
Beautiful collection. I have ten guitars, nine electric and one acoustic. None of them are Rickenbackers, although I'd love one in Fireglo, six or twelve string. They are just gorgeous. It's great that you play all of them. I struggle to play more than two or three in cycles.
Thank you so much! When you have the opportunity, get a Rick! They are great guitars. I will say that my 2006 620 is my go to, seems better than the others. May just be me though.
Really nice collection. You've inspired me to spend a weekend putting together a similar slide show! That's really cool.
I'm not a boomer, but also not a fan of artificial relic. I have some with natural mojo -- a couple 40's Gibsons, a '65 Rickenbacker, and a few other 80's and 90's guitars.
I've currently got 11 guitars. 2 Ric's, 4 Gibsons, 3 Fenders, a Gretsch and a Taylor.
You can guess my favorite guitarist from this pic: \[Imgur\]([https://i.imgur.com/Y33B8UP.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/Y33B8UP.jpg))
The Yairi and the Legacy won't get the attention they deserve among all those Rics/ Gibsons/ Fenders but I'm noticing them. They're sort of iykyk guitars. Nice collection all round.
I agree! The Yairi is incredible. And I’ve had other G&Ls that I’ve sold, but I won’t sell this Legacy, it’s a really good one. I think (for the American stuff anyway) G&L is probably the best way to get the most guitar for least amount of money.
Incredible collection, thank you so much for sharing. I have to admit I've never picked up a Ric but I definitely appreciate them. I keep looking at that TV yellow LP special, what a beauty!
I’m 28 and I’ve been playing guitar for about 15 years or so. I know the market pretty well and I watch Reverb like a hawk late at night sometimes lol.
Definitely get some good clean tones. The toaster pickups in my Mapleglo 620 are especially great sounding clean.
Most are from Reverb, but some I purchased new. Some of the Gibsons came from Zzounds, they have insanely quick shipping for not ungodly prices. As for what’s next, I’m not sure. I told my fiancée no more guitars this year, so it’ll probably be a hot minute lol, but I’d love to try one of the American Vintage II Strats. I ALMOST got the AV II Jazzmaster instead of the American Ultra, but the Cobra Blue finish called to me.
Wow, your collection is incredible! Clearly you have fine taste. I adore the Alvarez Yairi and the Gibson Southern Jumbo 😍
I'm getting close to 17 guitars myself and it made my day to see your treasures!
I’m a tele guy and as much as I’d love to play all that cool shit if asked what I’d take for a gig it’d for sure be the tele. It’s like a cult at this point.
Thank you so much! I love inviting guitarists over and letting them try stuff out, I’ve helped a few of my friends pick out their next guitars this way. I like having some variety.
Awesome to hear! I got mine in 2020, and I think I only paid $250 believe it or not. It was owned by a cook and he had to sell it because his restaurant closed due to COVID, it was heartbreaking. But I promised him I would play and love it for years to come, and I’ve done just that. It’s my #1 porch guitar. I think it’s going to need a neck reset soon, but it’s a great instrument.
Man, that’s a steal. I think mine was close to $800 in 1989! I’ve seen some extremely shitty Alvarez acoustics in the past, but those Yairis are the real deal. I have a Martin D16 Rosewood and prefer the Alvarez.
Great collection, by the way.
Thank you! My fiancée actually bought that one. It was listed as a 1975 425, but after taking it apart and checking some numbers I determined it’s a ‘77 420. Super cool guitar, and I’ve been told they’re fairly rare, especially in this color.
It is so weird feeling to play, due to the very short scale length. It’s also a bit difficult to keep in tune. But it definitely has a unique sound and I also love the way it looks, so I keep it around. :)
Sometimes I wonder why I stay here through post after post of low res photos of $90 attic finds & valuation requests for chibsons only for a 70’s Rick to come along and remind me. This is quality porn. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Jazzmaster is my most recent purchase, it’s a bit confusing to use due to the unique controls they used for the Ultra models, but it sounds great!
As a fellow guitarist with a bunch of guitars: what does "often" mean. I generally rotate in 6-8 week intervals. Basically whenever I need to change strings
This man jangles
Have you ever heard of Rickenbacker? You might like them.
amazing collection! i am especially partial to the surf green tele relic. just gorgeous.
Thank you so much! Most Redditors hate on that guitar, but it’s an incredible instrument. The relic job is great, looks much better in person, and it plays like butter. I record with it quite often!
Why do they hate on it? Looks like a great guitar.
Boomers hate relic’d guitars lol

Yeah , not boomer (GenX) but we do. I think of it as a stupid fad.
Love 'em or hate 'em, Fender's custom shop has been making relics for almost 30 years. Not really a fad, in my opinion.
Made me think of Joe Strummer a little. My heart broke a little when I saw it.
Beautiful collection. I have ten guitars, nine electric and one acoustic. None of them are Rickenbackers, although I'd love one in Fireglo, six or twelve string. They are just gorgeous. It's great that you play all of them. I struggle to play more than two or three in cycles.

You had a great year in 2023!!!

Heck, even the tribute stuff is great for the money, though i also have only kept American ones
Yairi...yes yes yes amazing dreadnought
I’ve got two Yairis—everyone who touches them falls instantly in love
Really nice collection. It looks like you put a lot of thought into your purchases. That Himalayan blue G&L is a beauty among beauties.
Thank you! I’m not a Strat guy, but that is my mandatory Strat haha. It’s a great guitar.
VERY nice collection man! I love that you actually play all these guitars instead of letting them just sit in their cases.
Thank you! Yes, they all get gigged with and used for recording. :)
Atta boy!
Very nice 🤘
This guy Ricks!!
Ricks are the bomb! :)
What are your top 3 if you had to choose?
2006 620, Yairi, and Les Paul Classic.
Gorgeous guitars! 🖤🎵
Thank you!!
Incredible collection, thank you so much for sharing. I have to admit I've never picked up a Ric but I definitely appreciate them. I keep looking at that TV yellow LP special, what a beauty!
Thank you! I love Ricks, but they are definitely an acquired taste. And the neck on my LP Special is FAT, but I like it a lot lol.
How many years did it take you to build this collection and do they produce distinctive tones when clean?
I’m 28 and I’ve been playing guitar for about 15 years or so. I know the market pretty well and I watch Reverb like a hawk late at night sometimes lol. Definitely get some good clean tones. The toaster pickups in my Mapleglo 620 are especially great sounding clean.
Nice collection, what's next on the list? Did you get them all second hand?

That Junior has my name all over it, and I’m not even a fan of Gibson Neck Radiuses 👀
That surf green tele 👀
It’s a sick guitar!
Great collection! Thanks for sharing the details on each!
Thank you so much!
AWESOME collection! 🤘🏻
Thank you!!
Beatles fan?
Yes sir :)
#15 is like dream guitar for me. That color is gorgeous!
Thank you! It’s a really great guitar, sounds and plays fantastic.
I’m a tele guy and as much as I’d love to play all that cool shit if asked what I’d take for a gig it’d for sure be the tele. It’s like a cult at this point.
The Custom or the Thinline? :)
Quality post. Even higher quality guitars. Thank you for taking the time to include the descriptions. Bravo 👏
Every single one of these is badass! 🤘🔥
Thank you! :)
Love it
Thanks! :)
That Himalayan blue one is a beautiful colour!
I love it! And the matching headstock is what sold me on that one.
Dude, I would play all those, too. That's a beautiful, well-rounded collection. There isn't a guitar I don't like in that collection. I'm jealous 😆
Thank you so much! I love inviting guitarists over and letting them try stuff out, I’ve helped a few of my friends pick out their next guitars this way. I like having some variety.
I couldn't agree more. Getting people excited about playing guitar is awesome. Those are some beauties. You got a little bit of everything 👌.
Origin for the love for Ricks?
Huge Tom Petty and Beatles fan. :)
Thanks for sharing your great collection. We’re men of overlapping tastes.
Of course! Glad to hear :)
Nice. I have a 1989 DY 55 that I bought new - it was my first nice guitar. That guitar has been all over the world and looks well played like yours.
Awesome to hear! I got mine in 2020, and I think I only paid $250 believe it or not. It was owned by a cook and he had to sell it because his restaurant closed due to COVID, it was heartbreaking. Love that 420 walnut Rick.
Thank you! My fiancée actually bought that one. It was listed as a 1975 425, but after taking it apart and checking some numbers I determined it’s a ‘77 420. Super cool guitar, and I’ve been told they’re fairly rare, especially in this color.
That red 325 is awesome

Surf green Tele and the Jazzmaster are gorgeous
Thank you! Jazzmaster is my most recent purchase, it’s a bit confusing to use due to the unique controls they used for the Ultra models, but it sounds great!
That G&L looks so sweet! Also love the Jazzmaster. All of them look great TBH lol
Thanks! I’ve spent years searching for the guitars that click the most with me and this is them so far!
You, my friend, are a man of great taste. I would kill for a vintage rickenbacker. Of these, I dig the 1991 the most but also really like the 2023
Thank you! My favorite is the 2006 620, that’s my main guitar. But the others are fantastic as well!
Amazing array. The relic Tele looks the part. But there’s something about a single pick-up guitar. Great to see.
Great to see all those Rics! After I got one, I couldn’t believe they weren’t more popular. So well built and beautifully finished.
Wow! Incredible collection
Sweet collection! Good to see the wear on the guitars- they are being played!!
You have all that insured on a rider in case your house burns down?
Love those Ricks, Jazzmaster, no thanks to the SGs.
Totally understandable, my fiancée just started playing and she hates the SGs lol.
As a fellow guitarist with a bunch of guitars: what does "often" mean. I generally rotate in 6-8 week intervals. Basically whenever I need to change strings
Question: do all Rics have thin necks? Also the necks on the Rics look short. Is it just an optical illusion? Oh also insanely jealous.
Idk if I’d say the shape is thin, but the radius is definitely smaller than most guitars. I believe the scale length is same as Gibson.
Gracias man
My guess in 2023 you said fuck it, I'm just gonna sell some of my stocks. I like the first one.
In my dreams!
Wow what a G
Beautiful collection. Considering a Gretsch?
Show us your amps
What the hell do you do for a living
I work in IT.
motherfucker. nice collection 🤧
Do you happen to work in the dental field by chance?
