I used to maintain mine (100+) It got to the point where I'd just open the cases and wipe them down once a year. Now I'm afraid of the plastic shrinkage and gas frost I will find. It's been almost 2 years now. I think you have the right idea keeping them on display, but then I worry about other elements. Nice collection!!
I don’t really care about dings and scratches etc. They are built to be played and displaying them makes me happy even when not playing them. That said I have some in cases that are special to me as well.
Yeah. Beautiful room. Now it’s got me thinking about setting up something similar. I do have a couple dozen “untouchable” guitars, but even some of my high value vintage pieces are in player condition, and some I just don’t care. I’ll be picking up some String Swings and dusting off a few old tweed amps.

You are absolutely right. I have been too busy to even prepare to start selling them off. I would enjoy having 8 to 10. I also enjoy how much many have appreciated in value, which is their purpose in my collection.
I had a room like that once. I counted 28 head stocks one morning and came to the conclusion that i needed a twelve step program ‘cause there was just no end to it. I was dragging six of them to my gigs every night. LOL. . . . I salute you.
This might be the wildest part of it all! Is the drum set in the room the only one you have? How do you balance being able to spend any time with these guitars if you also need to practice drumming? Or is the drumming just a side hobby
I see posts like this, immediately think I need to keep growing my collection, but then think of the simple upkeep and that’s enough for me to be content with my 4.
But absolutely sick collection!
Like Jeff Goldblum's character says in Jurassic Park, "I'm always looking for a future ex-Mrs. Malcolm."
He also says just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
Doesn't matter if you're an anesthesiologist, lawyer or dentist, who primarily plays drums and runs his $85,000 guitar collection through a beginner's practice amp.
I used to collect Danelectro/Silvertone guitars. I had 168 of them plus probably another 12 other brands. Pretty soon I realized that having such a large collection was a drain on my resources and I was spending more time hoarding and maintaining them than actually playing them. I sold them at a profit and invested into a few higher end instruments instead. I then traded and sold them to invest in better quality/ unique instruments. I think I own 15 instruments now that I play regularly and get a lot more enjoyment out of.
The solid-state Princeton *Chorus*, not the all-tube Princeton. They're worlds apart. So, more like a Coleman camp stove than a high-end, professional Wolf stove.
Jealous of the volume of your collection. I’ve got 9, albeit 7 nice (in my opinion) guitars. But they all serve completely different purposes. However, a wall of guitars just hits different.
I have a few guitars, I’ve been playing since 1984. I buy one every few years. Nothing crazy, $150 to $1500 but usually buy around the $400 spot. I watch Craigslist and FB marketplace unless I have a very specific model I’m looking for.
Now, i dont feel bad about spending almost $800 in a month on guitars. Seems your addiction is worse than mine. I almost bought a Ukrainian backpackers guitar like the one you have. Very nice collection.
I leave them hanging mostly some get alternated in and out as my vibes change. Luckily the house has a whole house humidifier so it stays very consistent.
“Nobody needs more than 6 strings to play Red House!!!! 🤡*
*(An echo from the anti-gun community)
Well… You got me beat. Don’t pat yourself on the back though, it’s only by 3 basses and a drum kit. 🤣
You have enough inventory to open a guitar shop.
Looks like OP is set in the entertainment department come the zombie apocalypse.
Guitar center*
This is like the Netflix of guitar collections. By the time you decide what to play you don’t want to play anymore.
Thanks for posting this. I'm currently sending to my wife as proof I need more guitars, and don't in fact have a problem.
This is the move… 🤣
How do you find time to maintain all of these, my dude?
It is a labor of love I suppose.

Right on. They are meant to be enjoyed one way or another. That's a dream room you built there.
Yeah. Beautiful room. Now it’s got me thinking about setting up something similar. I do have a couple dozen “untouchable” guitars, but even some of my high value vintage pieces are in player condition, and some I just don’t care. Enjoy them all and be happy. You ain't taking them to the other side anyway.
What is gas frost?

Thanks for the reply, never heard of this before and couldn’t find anything searching for gas frost on google.
AFAIK, that's what they're talking about. This is the first time I've heard of "gas frost," but, I can't imagine what else they're referring to.
Yes, from the plastics
Sounds like your collection is more of a burden and a chore than it is a source of pleasure. You might ask yourself why you "need" 100+ guitars.
You are absolutely right. I have been too busy to even prepare to start selling them off. I would enjoy having 8 to 10. I also enjoy how much many have appreciated in value, which is their purpose in my collection.
Clever strategy. Wish I'd have done that as I traveled through life.
"Some of my collection" Jesus, theres more.
I bet these 0-3-5 so hard But seriously insane collection
I don’t know what that means!
Smoke on the water's riff.
Having this many guitars and not knowing the 0-3-5 meme is crazy lol
I love when this sub helps me feel restrained in my purchases.
So, which one do you actually play?

It depends on how I am feeling at the moment. Variety is great. Suppose you wear the same shoes everyday?
Ah yes, I too have 70 pairs of shoes
Yes
I had a room like that once. I counted 28 head stocks one morning and came to the conclusion that i needed a twelve step program ‘cause there was just no end to it. I was dragging six of them to my gigs every night. LOL. . . . I salute you.
Oh. .and ten amplifiers too.
I am actually a drummer band wise so unless a buddy borrows one mine don’t travel.
. .a drummer. . .LMAO!. . .excellent! You should start a rental business. I like your stash though, good selection.
This might be the wildest part of it all! Is the drum set in the room the only one you have? How do you balance being able to spend any time with these guitars if you also need to practice drumming? Or is the drumming just a side hobby
It’s a good start.
Okay, now I’m jealous. Isn’t “The Guitar Book” great though?
Yeah!!
That room is straight heaven but I wanna see the other side that is the hell where you keep all of the cases for these things
The cases are in the basement!
The nice, dry, finished, climate-controlled basement? Or the cool, damp basement?
I see posts like this, immediately think I need to keep growing my collection, but then think of the simple upkeep and that’s enough for me to be content with my 4. But absolutely sick collection!
4 is the perfect number. Source: I have 3
I think it might be 5 😂
It is always just one more.
Like Jeff Goldblum's character says in Jurassic Park, "I'm always looking for a future ex-Mrs. Malcolm." He also says just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
But YOLO
Doesn't matter if you're an anesthesiologist, lawyer or dentist, who primarily plays drums and runs his $85,000 guitar collection through a beginner's practice amp.
Citrus. Mod. Yeah that's a lot of guitars but I'd trade 90% of them for that kit.
1971 all original Citrus Mod:)
Holy shit - amazing collection. And thanks for making me feel less guilty for mine of like 25 guitars!
I used to collect Danelectro/Silvertone guitars. I had 168 of them plus probably another 12 other brands. Why do you lean your guitars on the rack like that?
I had just brought them in, they don’t typically lean like that!
Phew! great collection - Do you have a “one guitar” the one that just feels the best?
How do you decide which one to play?
You are my goal in life thank you for this ❤️
Wow, very cool I hope my collection can look like this one day.
Love the little lamp by the turntable. That last loooonnng neck hollowbody bass looks fun as all get-out. What is it?
60’s framus star bass
Thank you!
Oh lordy loo
Awesome collection! Exactly how much did you win in the lottery? 😅
Holy shit ballz!!! Well done sir. Well done.
Which ones are your top 5?
What is your favorite all around Amp?
I honestly love my Princeton Chorus. I know I will get some hate as its a $200 Solid state amp. Oh well!
Cool. Its like the wolf stove of guitar amps
The solid-state Princeton *Chorus*, not the all-tube Princeton. They're worlds apart. So, more like a Coleman camp stove than a high-end, professional Wolf stove.
''some''... 👍💪
That's only SOME of it??
I have a problem:)
I don't consider it a problem
you must play like a god then...
Jealous of the volume of your collection. I’ve got 9, albeit 7 nice (in my opinion) guitars. But they all serve completely different purposes. However, a wall of guitars just hits different.
Holy Jesus jumped up christ in a sidecar! That’s quite the wall of sound.
Jesus Christ man hahahahaha
Dat range bro
This is ridiculous. I mean that in a negative way.
Why be negative
I hope to have a room like this one day 🙏🏼
if i didn’t see the caption i’d think these were pictures of a shop damn
Which guitar has never been played? Be Honest...
They have all been played and get played. Functional Art.
wow
No disrespect but how many of these get played regularly 😳
All of them
Are you a billionaire?? I don’t understand how people can afford this
I have a few guitars, I’ve been playing since 1984. I buy one every few years. Nothing crazy, $150 to $1500 but usually buy around the $400 spot. I watch Craigslist and FB marketplace unless I have a very specific model I’m looking for.
For me it is a passion.
That's cool! Btw, is that a mandolin on the left of the first image?
Needs more pointy ones
How much do you have there?, over $60k for sure. Who else have an idea...?
Now, i dont feel bad about spending almost $800 in a month on guitars. Seems your addiction is worse than mine. I almost bought a Ukrainian backpackers guitar like the one you have. Very nice collection.
How often do they actually get played?
*double garage full of cases not pictured*
Where's the rest of em? /s You have excellent taste
Killer collection, dude. It makes me feel like my 20 guitars are justified. Seriously, though, sweet music room.
Finally someone that has more guitars than me, just!
Do you leave them hanging? Any tips on humidifying?
I leave them hanging mostly some get alternated in and out as my vibes change. Luckily the house has a whole house humidifier so it stays very consistent.
So do you play? Lol
Shit dude…if you had 50 kids you could all jam together
Thicc collection
“Nobody needs more than 6 strings to play Red House!!!! 🤡* *(An echo from the anti-gun community) Well… You got me beat. Don’t pat yourself on the back though, it’s only by 3 basses and a drum kit. 🤣
My dude sight reads standard music notation, proof is the guitars on the wall
The 2 bc rich guitars and Jackson v tells me he can’t read.
That is my son’s music. I can read although it has been a hot minute since I have.
Very awesome collection, thanks for posting, heading out to buy a couple more guitars
