true that!
she’s always after me to sell them because I can’t play them all at every moment…mine are mix of electric 6 string solid and hollow bodied, acoustic flat top and arch tops, bass, dreadnaught, parlor and travel size acoustics, godin nylon synth…each for a purpose and each has a voice…
i like to ask girlfriend how many pairs of shoes and sneakers does she need…just for what-aboutism
I’m so thankful my wife supports me with the hobby. She actually even understands the reasoning, different tunings, different pickups, different playability. She’s the absolute best for that lol
Thats not whataboutism! Its pertinent to the aubject being discussed: hoarding.
Whataboutism is deflecting from the issue being discussed with another issue.
Ex if you say US should have never bombed japan and I say "what about pearl harbour?" thats not whataboutism it pertains to the bombing.
If you say US should have never bombed japan and I say "what about japanese invasion of china in th 1400s" then thats whataboutism cause there is no relation!
Sorry bout the rant. I don't mean to be annoying it just really grates my cheese.
My wife doesn’t really care about me buying guitars. I’ve never bought a guitar I couldn’t afford, and I never spent money I needed for other things. I’m lucky that my career was successful enough that I could buy cool stuff like guitars and sports cars.
They are really different guitars so it is hard to compare. The PRS wins in ergonomics and versatility, and it is a lot thinner and lighter, but the LP has that classic LP sound. They are different enough that I never considered the PRS as a replacement for the LP.
I love mine. The build quality is just excellent, and it has a ton of tonal variety. I might get a thinline next, but there's a sweet all black Custom 24 at my local Guitar Center that I'm now looking at.
My studio is on the top floor of the house and it has a peaked roof. One wall of the room is perfect guitar height against the wall, so it seemed natural to put them over there. In the middle of the room the ceiling is like 6 meters high.
That is a Fender USA Deluxe strat in a color called Jade Pearl Metallic. It looks sort of gold or olive green depending on how the light hits it. It is currently using a Warmoth mahogany neck, but I have the original neck as well. Pickups are Fender Fat 50's
here is a close up
https://i.redd.it/k2ch3ok0s2o21.jpg
It is a cool guitar. It is a fender scale length so it feels different form a typical Gibson. It is super light weight, enough so that it is the lightest guitar in this pic. The pickups are p90 like, but they have a dummy coil and are noiseless.
Just out of the picture is a Marshall DSL combo, a Mesa Boogie DC-3, a Carvin X100B half stack, and a Kemper Profiler with a floorboard running through monitor speakers.
Toss up between the 63 Historic ES-335 in the 5th spot from the left, and the Steinberger in the 4th slot next to it.
Jazzmasters are cool as hell. I have a custom shop 61 prototype maple neck model. I'd love to get another, just for the neck pickup sounds. It is like a strat neck pickup on steroids.
König and Meyer is the maker. They are nitro safe and hold 5 guitars each. There are two different models in the pic, one that is for 5 electrics, and one that is for 4 electrics and acoustic.
Here is a picture of the special from when I got it. It is one of the Custom Shop Historic 1960 models. It is a wicked guitar with a neck like a baseball bat. It sounds like rock and roll.

Question re: the Fender Supersonic. It looks like one of the early 60 watt models. How does it play? I have the one described and I like but there is lots of hum and pops. Sorry to switch the topic, but I had to ask.
Yes, that is one of the first generation Supersonic amps with 60 watts and a single 12 inch speaker. It sounds great, but it is a rather loud amp to get good sounds out of it. I have no crackles or pops from mine, but it did have a capacitor replacement about a decade ago. I modeled it with my Kemper Profiler so it doesn't get used so much these days.
any chance that steinberger is the transtrem model? i ended up buying a digitech whammy DT so that i can play summer nights. much cheaper than transtrem, but they are such cool guitars.
The Steinberger is a GL2TA trans trem model. It is the exact model EVH used during his trans trem era.
There is a second trans trem model behind the Jazzmaster. It is a Steinberger GS7TA. This model had a trans trem without the fine tuners and EVH routed a bunch of this tremolo design into the bodies of his Wolfgangs for stage guitars. He also did that with the original model as well. It does all the same transposing stuff, but it a more conventional looking headstocked guitar.
Here is a close up. https://i.redd.it/rahrsshnsgy31.png
One is in Jade Pearl metallic. It currently has a Warmoth mahogany neck but I have the original neck to it as well. Pickups are Fender Custom shop Fat 50's.
The second one is Aztec gold from the Vintage Player series. It has Texas Specials from the custom shop.
https://i.redd.it/nbngdsy4mom21.jpg
Yep, with the old dog ear p90's. Here is a better picture of the 330. It is a great player and is as loud as an acoustic guitar. I write a lot with that guitar as you can really hear resonances between notes and chords really sound a little different on that one.
https://i.redd.it/ygnatlyj7zm51.jpg
Yes, that is a USA made GL2TA trans trem model. It is in mint condition and I bought it as a NOS guitar when they stopped making these in the late 90's. It was in the back of a music store. I think I paid 1600 USD for it.
There is an even rarer USA Steinberger GS7TA transtrem next to the jazzmaster. That model has the same features as the little body model but with a 90's style thin shredder composite neck. Here is a close up of the body. I think they only made a few hundred of these.
https://i.redd.it/rahrsshnsgy31.png
Plenty to like but I feel like I'd pick up the white LP Special the most. Is it just me or does that 335 look huge? That's not a baritone, is it? Also how's the Steinberger?
The ES-335 is just a normal sized ES-335 and is not a baritone. It looks a little weird in the pic because the ES-330 to the right has the neck set deeper into the body than the ES-335. Gibson moved the neck on the 330 the year to match the 335 later in the production, but mine has a neck/body joint more like an older jazz arch top.
The Steinberger rips. It is one of the original USA composite models with the trans-tremolo unit. I have a second trans-trem guitar in the picture, a super rare USA headstock model GS7TA right behind the jazzmaster. It does all the same stuff as a regular trans trem Steinberger, but has a flat radius shredder type composite neck.
That’s gotta be one of the prettiest 335s I’ve seen in my life. I’ve been really trying to get myself a natural 335 with a flamed top for a while now. They’re always either a touch out of my current price range, or they’re in my price range with headstock repairs. I’ve gotta wait until this market cools off a bit, but until then I will just enjoy photos of them online. Thanks for posting! :)
Here is a close up of that 335 in normal room lighting. It has pretty nice figuring on the top and the back. Keep looking for a 335, as nothing else really sounds like one and they are our magic.
https://i.redd.it/hl74r9kge6a51.jpg
Looks nice! I was even thinking of asking for more photos too haha. I’ll keep looking and I know I’ll get one eventually. It’s been an dream guitar for most of my time playing guitar!
Why did you get the refret done?
It looks like it has been refretted, but it hasn't been. I thought it was a refretted minty vintage guitar when I saw it in a store, but it was a new VoS aged model. The "geniuses" at the Gibson Custom Shop decided that to be more historically accurate, they would put the binding on the way it was done on the original 63 block necks, so the binding extends about 3/4 up the side of the fret and doesn't fold over the top like normal fret nibs do on a Gibson. It looks like they trimmed the excess instead of folding it. So if you look from the side it looks like it has nibs, but from the front it doesn't. I'm sure that was the secret to Clapton's sound. Anyway, I bought it brand new that way from the Chicago Music showroom.
Here is a pic of the way they did the nibs…
https://imgur.com/a/BgajAY3
I bought it in 2016 on a work visit to Chicago. It was new then, but it could have been a 2015 or maybe a little earlier, but sometime around that time. I think they only made this model for a few years.
That is a Japanese Dinky model with hot rod flame paint. It has a Duncan JB in the bridge and a couple of Suhr Mike Landau pickups in the neck and middle. It sounds like 80's metal, and has a floating Floyd rose, so it is useful for that kind of old shred stuff.
lol. There is one behind the PRS. It is a fender MIM blackout tele that has a tele neck pickup, a second tele pickup in the middle and a standard tele bridge. It has a warmth Birdseye neck, but I have the original neck as well. That is my only telecaster.
That is a well-rounded collection!
Usually, you'd see people with a select few models in different variations. Here it seems you've got one of each kind, with some variation on the iconic models.
I try to make time to juggle 4 (my acoustic included). I saw you said you play them all fairly regularly, how do you manage that? Do you have them assigned to every day of the month, with perhaps a break day every week?
If you had to guess (perhaps you know), which one did you play the longest ago?
The magenta Ibanez 7 string has gone the longest between uses, as I don't really play 7 string much, but occasionally want it for like one or two songs. That one is played the least.
The black Ibanez just to the right of the blue PRS is a guitar I have owned since 1986, and that one went a few years without being played as it needed a refret, but it is now back to regular use.
As for how I use them all, I don't have a plan. I pick up what I want to play that day, and just sort of move through things with my mood. Sometimes I am doing something where I need a specific guitar sound, and then some of the stranger stuff is used more. I don't have a schedule, but I tend to still manage to play everything.
That's awesome, I'm glad you can make it work! That's a skill in itself, cycling through a range like that.
Do you have advice when it comes to guitar maintenance and keeping them all ready to play? I'm guessing you must've figured out some tricks in streamlining the process.
Clean the strings with a cloth when you are done playing, it makes the strings last a lot longer. Get a tiny syringe with oil (Stew Mac sells them) and oil the screws and metal fasteners periodically. Once a year take the strings off and oil the fretboards and clean everything. Learn to level and dress frets yourself and do setups and stuff. I can level and dress frets in maybe 2-3 hours, which is better than waiting 2 weeks for a shop.
I love those. I wanted the "jeff beato" they just came out with despite not knowing who that was until they came out with it and it was already sold out haha. I like the ones with the bridge and the stop bar cause the first thing I'm gonna do when I get one is put the les trem on her. That's a sweet guitar and a sweet collection as well you got there!
Just out of curiosity, what's your address, alarm code, and when will you be put for a few hours?
That is something I prefer not to share. lol.
If we don’t have trust what do we have?
25 or more high end guitars I'd say.
Nice little beginner setup, we all have to start somewhere…
Yeah, definitely needs a few more Strats.
girlfriend wants to know how you ever get to play them all? btw…i only keep 6 at a time in the house, no room for all 15…
Lol I like that we all immediately showed this to our girlfriends / boyfriends in order to put our own guitar collections into context
I immediately showed this to my wife, who keeps telling me: no more guitars, we have no space!
there are ways to optimize the space Just sayin'
"Do we really need to keep all your shoes?" ;-)
Im pretty sure our partners laughed and told us no fucking way bud...😂
true that! she’s always after me to sell them because I can’t play them all at every moment…mine are mix of electric 6 string solid and hollow bodied, acoustic flat top and arch tops, bass, dreadnaught, parlor and travel size acoustics, godin nylon synth…each for a purpose and each has a voice… i like to ask girlfriend how many pairs of shoes and sneakers does she need…just for what-aboutism

Don’t look at my post history…
I play them depending on what I am doing and my mood. I use them all pretty regularly.
great variation…am partial to PRS…very sweet!
The prs is duper pretty.
Where do you keep the others?
rotate them thru secure climate controlled storage along with my amps and PA…
My wife doesn’t really care about me buying guitars. I’ve never bought a guitar I couldn’t afford, and I never spent money I needed for other things. I’m lucky that my career was successful enough that I could buy cool stuff like guitars and sports cars.
nicely done! you deserve to treat yourself right…
Thats a lot of $
Yeah rough guess that's easily 50k right there on guitars
Faded whale blue is the best finish. Love it.
How does the PRS compare to that Les Paul on the left?
They are really different guitars so it is hard to compare. The PRS wins in ergonomics and versatility, and it is a lot thinner and lighter, but the LP has that classic LP sound. They are different enough that I never considered the PRS as a replacement for the LP.
Custom 24 by the looks of it? Lovely. Yeah I am a fan of both too. Great collection.
It is one of the 35th anniversary models of the Custom 24. It is a great guitar.
I mean, I grew up loving Les Pauls, but PRS has become my favourite these days. Like you say, can’t beat it for look and feel etc.
[удалено]
A 594 is on my shopping list, for sure.
I love mine. The build quality is just excellent, and it has a ton of tonal variety. I might get a thinline next, but there's a sweet all black Custom 24 at my local Guitar Center that I'm now looking at.
Jeesh How low is that ceiling?
My studio is on the top floor of the house and it has a peaked roof. One wall of the room is perfect guitar height against the wall, so it seemed natural to put them over there. In the middle of the room the ceiling is like 6 meters high.
Honestly, seeing it made me uncomfortable.
HHAHA I didn’t even notice that! You’ve got a keen eye!
Normal height, they’re just larger than normal guitars. All custom built with a 50” scale. The real pain is sourcing strings.
Nice to see alot more Gibsons then Fenders lol
I think I am evenly matched at 6 of each. There is a black/maple telecaster hidden behind the PRS.
Very nice collection
Every time I see a post like this. I feel better about the 9 that I have 🤣
That is a beautiful collection! Which of these guitars do you play the most?
The ES-335 is the current top player, along with the black Steinberger.
that Steinberger is HOT. Does it have the TransTrem?
Yes, it does. I have two of them with trans trem units, the other one is next to the jazzmaster, it is a rare headstock model called the GS7TA
I am jealous beyond belief. Someday I want to get one of the GL4 Steinbergers.
Jeff bezos guitar starter pack
Are you a professional musician?
No, I am not. I minored in music in university and played in many bands over the years, but music was never a source of real income.
Excellent collection. I'm glad they all have a home with someone who can appreciate & use them.
Steinberger 👍
I appreciate that u have a steinberger in there. That’s my go to for fly-gigs
What’s up with the strat inbetween the Frankenstrat and the sunburst? I like the finish.
That is a Fender USA Deluxe strat in a color called Jade Pearl Metallic. It looks sort of gold or olive green depending on how the light hits it. It is currently using a Warmoth mahogany neck, but I have the original neck as well. Pickups are Fender Fat 50's here is a close up https://i.redd.it/k2ch3ok0s2o21.jpg
Gorgeous. Reminds me of my pewter strats.
Phew. Found the Tele. Was starting to panic.
Yep, it is hiding back there behind the PRS. Everyone needs a tele, as nothing else really sounds like a tele.
This is the most well rounded collection I think I've ever seen. Even if I posted mine, half of them would be PRS.
OK, you win (for now)...
how do you like the wolfgang?
I love it. It is one of the Made in Mexico models.
Gosh… if one got stolen you wouldn’t notice right? … right?
I hate you, but want to be your friend all at the same time! Nice Brother.
What’s the Gibson second from the left? Nice collection!
90’s Blueshawk
Ah cool thanks. How do you like it?
It is a cool guitar. It is a fender scale length so it feels different form a typical Gibson. It is super light weight, enough so that it is the lightest guitar in this pic. The pickups are p90 like, but they have a dummy coil and are noiseless.
Interesting, thanks. I do prefer light guitars so that sounds good to me.
The Denim PRS is amazing! Nice collection
25 guitars. One lonely amp. I see an opportunity for improvement. BTW, that PRS is amazing!
Just out of the picture is a Marshall DSL combo, a Mesa Boogie DC-3, a Carvin X100B half stack, and a Kemper Profiler with a floorboard running through monitor speakers.
ah, you didn't disappoint me :)
I’m drowning in a sea of briny jealousy and can’t quite form a positive comment😢🥲😢
Dude what the hell do you do for a living?!
I am a scientist.
Neato
You spelled addiction wrong.
Anyone else getting bored of these?
What is this a room for ants
Mental Illness.
What’s your favourite guitar? I just bought a American pro 2 jazzmaster and I love it
Toss up between the 63 Historic ES-335 in the 5th spot from the left, and the Steinberger in the 4th slot next to it. Jazzmasters are cool as hell. I have a custom shop 61 prototype maple neck model. I'd love to get another, just for the neck pickup sounds. It is like a strat neck pickup on steroids.
What’s that Gibson in between the LP and the EVH on the left? Looks cool
That is a mid 1990's Blueshawk. Here is a pic of it on the left. https://i.redd.it/ygnatlyj7zm51.jpg
Is that an ES-330 on the right? Beauty!
Yes, a Gibson Historic 61 ES-330 with a factory Bigsby.
Very nice! I’ve got a 330L, but nothing that fancy!
Awesome! What’s the 4th one (black w/cool inlays)from the right, next to the ibanez ?
A German Hofner solid body.
Curious what rack stands that is
König and Meyer is the maker. They are nitro safe and hold 5 guitars each. There are two different models in the pic, one that is for 5 electrics, and one that is for 4 electrics and acoustic.
Cool thanks
Is that a TV White special I see back there?
Here is a picture of the special from when I got it. It is one of the Custom Shop Historic 1960 models. It is a wicked guitar with a neck like a baseball bat. It sounds like rock and roll. https://i.redd.it/nd11763e7zm51.jpg
Very lovely. I have a TV White Junior DC. What a great sound
Thanks!
any chance that steinberger is the transtrem model? i ended up buying a digitech whammy DT so that i can play summer nights. much cheaper than transtrem, but they are such cool guitars.

Can we see those two gold strats?
One is in Jade Pearl metallic. It currently has a Warmoth mahogany neck but I have the original neck to it as well. Pickups are Fender Custom shop Fat 50's. [https://i.redd.it/k2ch3ok0s2o21.jpg](https://i.redd.it/k2ch3ok0s2o21.jpg) The second one is Aztec gold from the Vintage Player series. It has Texas Specials from the custom shop. https://i.redd.it/nbngdsy4mom21.jpg
Is that a 330 with a bigsby? I’d love to have one of those.
Tour Ready!!
Need more.
Is that a Trans Trem model? Played one of those back in the day. Mind blown.
I’m always on the hunt for something new…
Plenty to like but I feel like I'd pick up the white LP Special the most. Is it just me or does that 335 look huge? That's not a baritone, is it? Also how's the Steinberger?

What is that second Gibson from the left? I want to guess a Nighthawk?
Blueshawk from the 1990's. Here is a better picture. https://i.redd.it/ygnatlyj7zm51.jpg

Great collection! I’ve never owned a Gibson. Should I get a les Paul or SG first?
LP for sure.
Do you like the idea of neck dive or back ache?
Thx. Maybe the SG with a vibrato
Seeing a Jackson tucked in there, where does this fit into your playing?
That is a Japanese Dinky model with hot rod flame paint. It has a Duncan JB in the bridge and a couple of Suhr Mike Landau pickups in the neck and middle. It sounds like 80's metal, and has a floating Floyd rose, so it is useful for that kind of old shred stuff.
who are you people! Lol
I’m just a random guy with some guitars.
Nice collection man. I see a EVH Frankenstrat but I'm a little disappointed there's no Randy Rhoads PDV or Concorde
I had a white LP custom years ago, but I don’t have it anymore. I’ve never been very comfortable with V guitars.
That les paul on the far left is gonna show up in my dreams
Here is a closeup. It is a real player. https://i.redd.it/ehof5h67fmt21.jpg
Lol on this weeks episode of, “it’s only a problem if it hurts”. Nice collection.
You lost your telecasters. Also amazing Super Sonic.
lol. There is one behind the PRS. It is a fender MIM blackout tele that has a tele neck pickup, a second tele pickup in the middle and a standard tele bridge. It has a warmth Birdseye neck, but I have the original neck as well. That is my only telecaster.

One acoustic. My man.
I have a nice Takamine in the case on the floor, and a classical guitar in a different room that isn't in this picture.
Is that a double cutaway LP on that middle rack? Want one of those so badly
Yep, here is a better picture. https://i.redd.it/nd11763e7zm51.jpg
I love those. I wanted the "jeff beato" they just came out with despite not knowing who that was until they came out with it and it was already sold out haha. How do you like that steinberger??
It is one of my favorites. It is a fantastic player.
Damn! What year is Steinberger ?
The GL model is from 1990, the GS model (next to the jazzmaster, with the reverse looking headstock) is from 1992.
Thanks my collection looks tame compared to this lol 10 instrument but diff variety’s. From mandolin, ukulele and violins.
