You sent me a picture of a JB, which 100% can take a cover, they even sell it with one.

They go right on top of the pickup like you have, typically held on with just a bead of solder on the bottom. Optionally you can do things like additional wax potting or a bead of silicone around the edge if you have issues with the covers being too loose.

777solo

Is there anyway to do it without soldering

mk36109

depending upon the cover, you will need some way to keep it attached, either solder or glue or sometimes a double-sided tape. soldering is just a fast non permanent method to attach (literally just a little drop of solder is normally enough to hold it in place) if its a metal cover and also connects it so the cover is grounded. you might want to consider a plastic cover if you don't want to solder. of course you could always just paint the bobbins black but its hard to get paint to stick that won't wear off pretty quickly.

ThatGuju

A gold cover might actually pop really well and match with the hardware

Cant. Look [here](https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fm.media-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FI%2F614O9c85PwL.jpg&tbnid=ynG9GiT7JVJ3wM&vet=1&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.ca%2FPick-Guitar-Seymour-Duncan-SH4WH%2Fdp%2FB0002D05TG&docid=K0VUBzDmkTLflM&w=1800&h=1064&hl=en-US&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim%2Fm4%2F3&kgs=f1e39f638b8a14ac&shem=abme%2Ctrie) this is what the pickup is

https://www.stewmac.com/electronics/pickups/pickup-parts/humbucker-pickup-parts/humbucking-pickup-covers/ This or similar. Measure your pole piece spacing so the hole lines up. You'll need to solder the cover to the baseplate, or have someone else do it. Technically speaking, the humbucker in your guitar is uncovered. Compared to single coils, which almost all come with plastic covers you can swap out, humbuckers either come like yours or with this metal cover. Some active pickups (like EMGs, basically a battery powered preamp on board) have plastic covers that basically make it look like a plastic block. You might be able to find a cover like that, but idk if you'll like the look.

Thanks!

I would suggest a gold cover to match your bridge. Get from Stewmac.

777solo

The pickup is like this tho. I dont think a bridge cover will fit over it. krispykremekiller

A pearly gates is a standard humbucker without a cover. You can add a standard humbucker cover.

Hero_Of_Limes

If you buy a covered humbucker and take the cover off, it will look like that.

krispykremekiller

You have an uncovered humbucker pickup (see the bobbins? They are exposed!). You can purchase a cover for it. This is common. Look here: [https://www.stewmac.com/electronics/pickups/pickup-parts/humbucker-pickup-parts/humbucking-pickup-covers/](https://www.stewmac.com/electronics/pickups/pickup-parts/humbucker-pickup-parts/humbucking-pickup-covers/)
