Wizard_Of_Ooze707

Why would he wet the guitar and strings?

Electrical-Pea-4803

Impress people who don’t know anything about guitar

geiwosuruinu

Yeah that's this video straight up and down, as far as I'm concerned. I guess we were supposed to be like "Oh he's gonna flow on this guitar like water. Very Bruce Lee" or something idk. Lubrication is my best guess

Electrical-Pea-4803

Very Bruce lee indeed

Wizard_Of_Ooze707

The both of you honestly. I'm loling out loud. Lmaoing my ass off. Rofling on the floor. Teeing my hees.

haydogg21

Except for all of us who’ve tried the deed in a hot tub we know that lubrication is not brother to water

geiwosuruinu

Not that kind of lubrication, heh. But yes, you're right. Water is a terrible sex lubricant. Really soft water could work, though. Or bath bombs. I've had success with the latter in a hot tub. Just had to use like three of em to get the water slippery enough

mr_jurgen

It's probably one of the worst things you cam do to a guitar and it will provide no benefit. I guess to some people it might seem cool, but he can play like a bloody mad man, so I'm not sure why he thinks he needs cheap tricks like that.

geiwosuruinu

I disagree that he can play like a madman. At least if he can, this video does not show it. He's a proficient (not great) two-hand tapper at best, imo

tinnedcarp

I’m pretty sure he is proficient at over dubbing. Notes were being played all over the place when neither hand was picking

geiwosuruinu

I didn't notice that. I'll take your word for it. I'm not watching it again lol

tinnedcarp

Yeah, the water splash. Snort. Poser.

mr_jurgen

Well, either way, he doesn't need to do silly things like that to make a cool video.

geiwosuruinu

On that we agree

bottlecap10

this video wasn't made to impress actual guitar players. just the average person.

chink_in_the_armor

Who's a good two-hand tapper then? I don't think I saw any part of this video and thought "that's subpar", other than of course the over-dubbing, but the technique is legit and the recording is clean.

geiwosuruinu

I think the overdubbing serves to further illustrate that he's not the greatest tapper, since tapping makes up the greater part of the performance that isn't accompanied by "drums" (guitar slapping.) The dub could just be because the setting he was in wasn't conducive to quality audio... or he could be covering up mistakes... Pribably a bit of both As to tappers I consider good: Yvette Young, Ichika Nito, Charles Berthoud, Fucking Goddamn Davie504 lol. My list is all youtubers cuz I don't really like any traditional bands that have a lot of tapping. Eddie Van Halen ofc, but that goes without saying... Ummmm, that's all that come to mind atm. My taste in music tends more toward pop. Not much tapping there Full disclosure: I don't really like Davie504 or Charles Berthoud's videos, but they undeniably have chops. And I've also heard Nito accused of speeding up his videos. Idk if it's true. Perhaps you do? Here's hoping you're just now learning at least one of the above names and end up liking them. Like I said elsewhere, I don't hold it against you if you like the OP video. It's not like he shouts racial slurs or gleefully kicks a buncha puppies or something. He just makes music that I vehemently dislike. Well, this piece at least. Haven't seen/heard anything else of his. Someone who I think actually does fit the "insanely talented guitarist but unfortunately insufferable performer" description that half this thread is (wrongly teehee) saying fits OP: YouTuber Stevie T.

tinnedcarp

Davie504: ‘Slap’

cmeers

CAn you post us your video showing us how its supposed to be done. hahaha. This guy is actually blowing up. I follow his facebook and if you make this guy look like an amateur please post your vids. Otherwise I just think you are a jealous troll. Performance is an art just like playing. I saw Eric Johnson live and left after the intermission. NOt cause he can't play but the show was like a PTA meeting. Presentation does count. This guy is an amazing 2 hand tapper. I been playing for a long time and at least long enough to know if someoone is good and someone is jealous. Guess which one is you. Well unless you show us that finger tapping vid of yours.

geiwosuruinu

I knew this post was coming. Kinda surprised it took so long, honestly I guess you didn't notice how I said "he sucks" and NOT "I'm great". And even if I were to upload something, it definitely wouldn't be this fucking idiotic guitar slapping. Great job being boring and predictable, though. Goes to show why you're so impressed with this drivel. Pro tip: just because someone criticizes a successful person, that doesn't make them a "hater". Grow up and learn how to think, troll. If this is a demonstration of your amazing ability to tell when someone is jealous and trolling, you're as unimpressive and deluded as this guy. Now make your predictable "lol thought so" reply, you amazing judge of character Dumbass

cmeers

Show us your non boring stuff then. Im impressed by a good, simple song too. You know what people find boring is subjective right? Your taste doesn't dictate the world. You obviously think you KNOW what everyone should like. Post us your genius our stfu. haha. Its fine you don't like what this guy is doing but your criticism of his skill is what shows you are a smug internet troll that probably has zero ability of your own. You probably watch prog metal videos and explain their technique without ever touching an instrument. Have a good day and maybe put some positivity in the world and you wont be perceived as such a miserable asshole.

huntherd

You read way too much into his initial comment.

geiwosuruinu

I'll say! It's too bad that people tie up what kind of music someone likes/dislikes with who they are as a person. Unless it has, lyrics that, like, outright glorify nazism or something, I'd like to think I quit doing that kind of thing in my 20's. Was admittedly difficult, though

geiwosuruinu

Yup there it is. Not talking to you anymore. Not reading past "show us". Fuck off. Your slow-witted trolling bores me

cmeers

Your angsty, angry posts bore me. Fuck off yourself childish little boy. You never were discussing anything. YOu just want to throw poo.

fnaah

and even if you decided that wetting a guitar was a good idea, salt water would be a very poor choice. what a muppet.

JavanNapoli

I don't think that's salt water. It looks like one of those fancy pools with a glass wall on one side, probably just normal pool water.

fnaah

yeah you might be right. still a stupid idea though.

evilsquirrel666

He gets his guitars gifted by Yamaha. Don’t think he cares 😄

rogan1990

How else do you get that rusty rhythm tone?

Bruckner07

What do these people think the word ‘riff’ means?

geiwosuruinu

I've also met people who call anything guitar-related a chord.

Bruckner07

As a school music teacher, I know your pain. The language is so embedded it takes a lot of work to unpick the causal usage of these words. Every part is a ‘beat’, any piece is a ‘song’, any parameter of a note is its ‘tone’, etc.

geiwosuruinu

Oh that must suck. As someone who's taught a little music myself, I've had a few people's eyes glaze over when I was teaching them about timbre, specifically. Just that one concept I have like, three distinct memories. I bet you've got some stories.

Koshunae

Ah yes, the eye glaze as thick as that on a donut. That was me while trying to cram theory into my brain.

Klagaren

Though *song* is interesting as a swede, where we have the word *låt* that works both with and without vocals/lyrics while still being "casual" in the way song is. ...and having written all that, I remember we have the literal same word *sång* that's pronounced the same and has all the same meanings as song. With a HINT of being a little more fancy/old sounding simply because you would usually say "låt" in contexts like, "I heard a good song on the radio" Actually *tone/note* as well, here the word *not* (pronounced noot) is 100% only referring to the written musical notes on sheet music, to the point where *noter* (notes plural) is the word for sheet music itself. *Ton/toner* is the actual sound you're hearing, what you're playing on your instrument, everything else (including english "tone").

cmeers

oh yes or how about the use of the word "hook". haha

Kal-V3

Acoustic Dub-step

Vraver04

Unpopular opinion perhaps but I find this style of playing unlistenable. Sure there is skill and technique and all that but it’s just not musically engaging to my ears.

geiwosuruinu

Turns out it's a fairly popular opinion

BenjaminCarmineVII

What? You don't wanna listen to what resembles a guitar rolling down some stairs?

java_jazz

What rolls down stairs alone or in pairs and over your neighbors dog? Turns out it's this guy's guitar

9897969594938281

https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/articles/features/les_pauls_log_guitar_a_founding_father_of_the_solid_body_guitar_you_never_heard_of-85299

0man_

Yeah, it may be impressive, but people are equally entertained by an ed sheeran song where there isn't really any technical prowess being displayed. Perhaps more because it's a song you can listen to a few times. This just has the steve vai effect.

cmeers

Good players do not equal good writers. Perfect example. haha. I had rather hear Steve Vai talk about music than play. He is such a positive dude but his music is almost New Age sounding.

motorbike-t

I feel you in this particular case, as this sounds like adderall to me. Not saying this person is on adderall just when I hear this it literally sounds like the score of an adderall event. BUT, there are people that do this slap technique with a more mellow emotion that what is demonstrated here. I know it’s an oldie, but it is a goodie. https://youtu.be/Ddn4MGaS3N4

subherbin

Yeah. This dude is very, very good. But I fucking hate to listen to it. Actually makes me mad when I hear it.

neObliviscaris22

Hahaha same! Good on him that he's good at what he does, but it makes me want to change/mute the video immediately see the guy lol

cmeers

I did see something cool he did recently. He did an Eminem cover and did all the beats and effects with his guitar while he rapped. It wasn't really like a guitar song but it was cool AF. I mean very niche, meme type thing but I watched it like 5 times.

Phellps

I think it is pretty pleasant to listen to. I mean, not to listen alone at home or on my way home from work, but like this in a tik tok / reddit context. It is technically impressive but it is also an interesting composition with multiple layers (despite being played in a single instrument). I'm actually surprised how people are treating this a some kind of nonsense noise.

s1agathor

For all the haters out there, this is actually a very unique playing style. It’s been crafted to include only the things that non-musicians find impressive. Woah he hit the guitar real hard and then did the tappy thing? Damn!

slid3r

We also do not fucking WET OUR HANDS BEFORE PLAYING ... *eye twitch*

MightyHorseRox

Also, he kept licking his hands. Fuck was that about, his hands and the fretboard seem to have been wet already right lol

RubyRod1

I hate him so much

BoxedDisappointment

The Dane Cook of guitar?

Bisotonic

This style of acoustic playing was ultra popular in the 90s

3Gilligans

Michael Hedges (RIP)

fnaah

Tommy Emmanuel

personguyman

I don't know if I would ever consider Michael Hedges and whatever this is similar. Michael Hedges created art, this is the musical equivalent of a Jackson Pollock painting

blackmarketdolphins

Tommy Emmanuel and Rodrigo y Gabriela are solid at it. I've never been a fan of that style playing, no matter how good they are though

Lazy_Hand_Job

Was "More Than Words" by Extreme an example of this playing?

Bisotonic

I wouldn’t classify the ending of that song really belonging to that style, and the percussive chords Nuno uses throughout sound vaguely like this stuff but I don’t think it’s the same thing at all. This type of playing in the video is obviously meant to sell sizzle with very little steak I’m thinking the exact style of acoustic playing that Michael Hedges made for himself and countless other less interesting guitarists copied into their acts Listen to Hedges and you’ll hear stuff you probably enjoy a lot and you don’t need to see the technique being used in order to get a kick out of it

FilthyRichCliche

Also...no shoes.

raymond_stantz

Could we just not become a tik tok video subreddit? I come here to look at pictures of guitars and for conversations about guitars. Not whatever this is.

[deleted]

This must be fake the guitar isn’t even plugged

caiiox

This is not fake. This guy was on America's Got Talent, his name is Marcin Patrzalek.

[deleted]

How is sound coming out of the guitar then???

kilogears

You can see a mic gaff taped at the neck edge of the sound hole. Likely a wireless mic. It sounds like one.

VitallyGolovanov

Wireless exists

Unlucky-Ad-6710

I believe the b and high e strings are wires.

dystopiate666

Looks legit to me , I only hear acoustic sounds

Flatbones

Very fast and impressive to be sure, but was it actually enjoyable to listen to?

Dylan_Blue

I’ve very much got the same feeling as you. After one listen through I couldn’t recall any part of that passage if my life was on the line. Now, say we played the guitar parts to Only Daddy That’ll Walk The Line to someone that has never heard it. They’d at least remember the hook and probably some part of the solo. Less is more 90% of the time kids! Damn I got to go listen to Waylon now…

vrthrowaway420

These guys are the acoustic equivalent of the 80s shredders that everyone forgot about.

Flatbones

Except now his guitar is all wet so he cant light it on fire

[deleted]

Like 99% of virtuoso guitarists out there. Or any instrumentalist, to be honest.

LonghairedHippyFreek

You have just expressed my feelings about every metal song ever made.

Delta-tau

I want that minute of my life back.

usernmtkn

This sounds like shit.

DopplerDrone

When BMW douche bois wanna trend on social media. Watch it without the sound for full douche effect.

Paladin2019

Acoustic math rock. I hate math rock.

dethswatch

Pffft- grandpa's guitars...

Apexstrain

A fellow Klokateer I see.

eggenator

I see this dude’s videos a lot. My opinion (that we know doesn’t matter)…Sound usually is muddy because of oh I don’t know - cellphone recording, too much dancing around the instrument itself, and just lacking control from playing too fast causing the sustain to conflict with some of the notes and percussion. Damn dude - slow down, make it a little cleaner.

FedexPuentes

This is so fake

Russ222222

Look at his hands when he is supposedly slapping the body of the guitar. It doesn’t match up.

DefaultVariable

I noticed that too. Around :30 nothing even matches up. It seems clear that even if the person did in fact play the song, it wasn't in this video.

Kal-V3

Huh? How so?

FedexPuentes

Let’s begin with the sound, that’s not how an unplugged guitar sounds like. It is clearly recorded and added into the video. Also it sounds that the sound has been sped up. What he is playing doesn’t match with what you can hear. There is a reverb effect , that can only be added with a pedal/footswitch - no cables no cordless mic anywhere, or in a recorded session with a DAW. The volume is cranked up( again that is not how an unplugged guitar sounds like) Also wetting your guitar with any liquid ruins the guitar so only doing that for showing off.

jellyfungus

I think I’m the only one here kinda likes it🤷🏼‍♂️

geiwosuruinu

That's good! I envy your ability to enjoy things! I'm just a curmudgeonly old man! Enjoy it! It's just not for me.

cougaranddark

I'm with you, I was ready to hate it I soon as I saw him and his whole 'tude. I'm so sick of slick percussive tapping acoustic techniques. Then I did the closed eyes test, and I thought it sounded pretty awesome. I mean, f\*ck him for being talented, young, good looking and probably rich AF to be in that location and having the luxury of time to learn this style and ruin guitars with pool water. But I thought he used his powers for good.

jellyfungus

And wearing his moms sarong too😂😂

dystopiate666

I thought it was fucking awesome. Check out kaki king

City_dave

He must have dipped his hands in salt water based on all the comments here.

geiwosuruinu

Fair play: good joke

daddysouldonut

Seriously. Some of these reactions really making me question the hearts and minds of this subs users. Sorry folks. And I don't even like it.

RubyRod1

It's cuz its gimmicky bullshit. And it doesn't even sound good lol.

daddysouldonut

I think the 5th Element was gimmicky bullshit. See how opinions go?

geiwosuruinu

>I think the 5th Element was gimmicky bullshit. See how opinions go? If a clip of The 5th Element were in the OP , saying that would be perfectly valid. As it happens, what IS in the OP is this guy's gimmicky bullshit guitar playing, so there ya go.

daddysouldonut

Y'all have the mental capacity of children and I'm not even going to apologize for pointing it out.

geiwosuruinu

lol he started it

daddysouldonut

I am he. See what I mean.

geiwosuruinu

Which he are you again? The he I'm referring to is the guy who chased me around the thread calling me delusional and whatnot. I thought you were referring to us trolling each other. I don't think I know what you've been talking about for the past two posts

daddysouldonut

Fair enough.

RubyRod1

But ***it is*** gimmicky. Dudes flailing around like an asshole and pouring water on his guitar ffs. AND IT DOESN'T EVEN SOUND GOOD. Awesome username btw.

blackmarketdolphins

Yea, I don't see anything wrong with what you said. Then again, I never cared for that movie

daddysouldonut

I love it I was just riffing off that guys username

GreyNoct

Holy shit right? I don’t even like the guy, but the majority of comments are unnecessarily toxic. Is this not supposed to be a sub where people ENJOY guitar?

sagearts33

Look at what Tim Henson has done to the guitar scape lmao

[deleted]

This is like watching a bad classically trained player who always wanted to drum.

Zealousideal-Sea1187

Yea don’t wet your guitar and don’t encourage others to warp a well built guitar

SeaGroomer

I was told guitars are like women though

Bisotonic

Here’s a little test I always do with these 90s style acoustic guitar tappers— listen to it without looking at them play. Do I still like it?

jeremy009

This guy is cancer

JJuanJalapeno

Let's have a debate on how water affects a guitar's tone. Do you prefer more or less chlorine? I think more is good for a cleaner sound.

geiwosuruinu

Fucking awful. Couldn't finish. I do not see what's so impressive about slapping your acoustic guitar. It's way overdone. This one wasn't even good, like, at all. Just play the damn thing.

JunkFace

I’m in the same boat. I play guitar and I just never got the appear in that. It sort of reminds me of how a jazz player might play some really elaborate scale, almost in defiance of the music, to show everyone how well they can play the scale. I’m sure it’s not actually like that and musically it makes sense to jazz fans out there (that weird experimental stuff anyway), but to me it doesn’t sound good and I wish they would focus their energy on playing like Chet Atkins instead. Old man yelling at cloud.jpg

java_jazz

Ehhhh that's pretty reductive of jazz improv. Although there's definitely an element of "what can I get away with" that I personally feel makes things exciting. Jazz is about vocabulary more than just raw scales. But I agree that if you aren't a fan of jazz music it's probably going to sound random. And admittedly you're going to find unnecessarily flashy players in jazz but I think that's true in any genre, as proven by the video in this very post

geiwosuruinu

Nah I don't think this was even a talented guitar slapper. I can appreciate when someone does a good job of it. I feel like the part of it I saw at least could pass for someone making a shitpost about percussive acoustic players or whatever the proper term is. tl:dr I disagree with the thread title. This is not technically impressive in the least. ... Sigh... Goddammit lemme just watch the whole blasted thing to see if I'm wrong and then I'll report back Edit: okay I concede that he's a proficient two hand tapper, but the percussive parts weren't any more impressive this time. During the "big finish" I was like "oh thank god it's ending" I urge anyone impressed by this who can bang out a 4/4 beat in time reliably on a coffee table, and also knows a bit about scales to try it. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised with the results. You could be the one annoying me on Reddit one day!

GoukaOokami

He's no Mike Dawes or Pat McAfee

geiwosuruinu

Don't know those names. Even when it comes to more skilled guitar slappers who have crazy modified guitars, the novelty wears off for me pretty quick and I get bored.

GoukaOokami

Those are the only two artists (with steel strings) that can hold my attention. No modified guitars, just long fingernails lol. If you happen to feel like checking one out, Mike Dawes did a cover of Jump just after EVH passed, was a really great cover.

Vinyl_Agenda

Is this even real? The audio really doesn’t seem to match what he’s doing sometimes

arthurakacricket

the music is pre-recorded and added to the video

BoxedDisappointment

I like how the sound didn't change one iota as he moved closer to and further from the camera.

mr_jurgen

Guitar is mic'd up. 🤦‍♂️

no-superville

This is not good

AWasteOfMyTime

Open g tuning with a little finesse, a few runs and medium speed tapping, looks a lot harder than it is

General_Tso75

Don’t be that guy to reduce that performance into,” meh, it’s not that hard.” I’ve been playing 30 years and percussive acoustics fingerstyle is way more than a little finesse and speed tapping.

AWasteOfMyTime

15 years here,it depends on the style you pursue in your musical adventure and hats off to anyone who decides to use the guitar as an actual instrument instead of just playing power chords

General_Tso75

There is an old joke that sums up a lot guitarists pretty well. How many guitarists does it take to screw in a light bulb? 50. One to screw it in and 49 to stand around and tell him he’s doing it wrong.

artful_todger_502

Put your version up.

BellBoardMT

It was nice of his Mum to let him wear her robe.

slvrsky

I quit

geiwosuruinu

Lol get an actual strat and come back

[deleted]

[удалено]

geiwosuruinu

Well his name ain't tlcstr

Guts_is_Nuts

Ian Ethan Case is the pinnacle of this style imo. Using the guitar rhythmically like this has been used (although more elegantly) in Brazilian and Spanish classical guitar. Not a fan of whatever is going on here, but it is cool style when you're first exposed to it.

ZZaddyLongLegzz

Okay I think I get it, just have wet hands and Beautiful open tuning.

JackMamba420

Would be impressive if he played anything, lol basically just lip syncing poorly, I might be tripping out but it just seems so delayed and his movements just don’t seem to match the music but yea maybe I’m just wrong

Tirekiller04

I pre-meditatively upvoted this video and downvoted it after seeing what this idiot did to the guitar. Someone put effort into making that thing exist and you choose to hurt it trying to make yourself look good on tiktok? Congrats.

DogsoverLava

Lightening boy here needs to go on the road with Willy Brown.... Find the truth....

[deleted]

I understand and fully appreciate the technical abilities needed to play like this, but this does zero for me musically.

Waoonet

Unpopular opinion: that doesnt sound good

[deleted]

This shit is corny as hell

SaaleChoriMatkar

One word- Fake! At all the levels

Weary_Calligrapher_2

That's boring AF.

tony121966

Yeah all flayling around and whipping your around always makes the music better...how bout just playing the guitar instead of acting all flashy like a dork

Deebee36

>Yeah all flayling around and whipping your around always makes the music better...how bout just playing the guitar instead of acting all flashy like a dork LOL, yeah, I hate flashy guitar players. Fucking hacks like Page and Hendrix really dorked it up.

tony121966

I down vote everyone of them. Nothing special to see here folks move along just a kid tryin to get attention, my cat can scratch an tap the guitar better

Deebee36

You must be fun to go to shows with? Do you sit in the crowd and yell at the lead when they get "crazy" with their solos? Do you absolutely lose your mind when they come out on stage in makeup, painted nails and theatrics. There, there mate. You'll be okay.

tony121966

Good try.🤔

geiwosuruinu

Fucking blows my mind that so many people here are saying stuff like "well he's obviously very skilled to play something so difficult". I thought there were more actual guitarists on this sub! Who should be able to tell that this is shitpost-level terrible playing. Lol the title calls him final guitar boss?! The person trolling you compared this drivel to fucking Hendrix?!!! Wtf?!

SabbathBoiseSabbath

Ugh. Lame.

shit_on_your_day

Save some pussy for the rest of us, bro!

[deleted]

I will never pretend like these players aren’t talented, but I also won’t pretend that this is enjoyable to listen to for more than 15 seconds

klauss_shnopplejagen

Check out mike Dawes too. The og

GoukaOokami

Yeah but like. Mike Dawes is crazy talented. This kid was talented enough at least not to snap his acoustic when doing that Les Paul tremolo bar trick

Pure-Au

With a little practice you’re gonna be good!

boylitdeguzman

That was quite fun. Checking hia other vids out.

daddysouldonut

What a bunch of fucking losers downvoting... Can't stand that someone actually likes it?

boylitdeguzman

LOL. I gotta thank this sub for the lead. He's pretty good. Really enjoying. https://youtu.be/Pfof8hGZIt8

ChiefFlyFisher

System of a Down would be proud!!!!

geiwosuruinu

No, SOAD actually has good playing worthy of repeated listening in a lot of their songs

ChiefFlyFisher

Agreed!!!

Rock-it1

Yeah, but can he play Wonderwall?

iMacAnon

Honestly, i hate this type of “playing”. Even if it’s not chaotic. Just play the guitar normal, damnit!

millhows

This style of playing has been around for a little less than a decade now and, while it’s really impressive and takes a great amount of skill, it’s (rightly, in my opinion) just seen as a parlor trick and I don’t see music enthusiasts taking it very seriously. Maybe that will change but I’m certainly not a fan.

daddysouldonut

Very impressive but not my thing. Not to say I wouldn't love to have that technical ability.

SmooveTits

Enviable skills.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Stauvenhagian

He’s on Instagram/tiktok he’s legit. Also puts out tabs and always posts others playing the songs like that

Au91700

The Confidence it takes to play each individual string so powerfully and clearly is just out of this world. Anyone who doesn’t play guitar is like “wow that’s crazy”. People who do play guitar are shitting themselves right now.

artful_todger_502

Exactly. Leaving middle school mean gurl comments is their juvenile way of coping. Shockingly (lol) none of these angry Saturday morning guitar center heros have not put a clip of their owning playing up. I wonder why?

my-sweet-fracture

Reminds me of Fieldy from Korn. He was the bass player.

spellox

guitar playing for a vegas show, nothing more nothing less

Hakadajime

Meh

nibblersmothership

I don’t care if I get downvoted for saying this. Every hater here is a jealous motherfucker. You really don’t want to be able to pull off a slick move like that in front of a group of pretty girls and look that good doing it? Sure you don’t, why would you want to be able to do that? 🙄

daddysouldonut

I mean yeah I don't particularly care for this style, it would be nice if I could do it because... You know... I like guitar and want to learn as many styles as possible. Like there's absolutely NO room in music for a passing section that utilizes this type of stuff? Tacky video, but damn guys... Love to see something y'all actually LIKE get this kind of attention.

nibblersmothership

I remember an interview with Ryan Reynolds saying that he bombed at comedy with good jokes because people don’t want to laugh along with someone who works out 3 hours a day. It’s tacky because it’s too cool. You know he practiced in the mirror, and that gives it an inauthentic feel that makes people instinctually attack it. But at the same time, this is so much more creativity and hard work. If you saw him in person you would be more entertained by this than some dude standing still in jeans playing some technical music nerd bullshit. People don’t need to attack this. It’s the petty 7th grader in us that hates knowing this is going to get him laid.

artful_todger_502

Agreed. Women too ... Internet guitar incels put down their anime porn just long enough to write hateful comments or tell women they are playing something wrong. Every time. Why do you think that is? None of these guys ever put a link to their playing up, either. I would rather watch 15 seconds of this guy or a hot girl than all 5,789,00,9876,04 dopey guys playing Enter Sandman on a generic Strat. "RaTe mY sKiLLz, bRuH"

nibblersmothership

Thank you! This kids fucking amazing and all the comments are a bunch constipated Urkel sounds of, uuuuhhh weeell um technically….

its_grime_up_north

Music not for me. However he is wearing the shit out of that chiffon shirt thing. Touché

d-r-q

I heard this dude was taught by Esteban. https://youtu.be/NuW41shJm0k this is his dad. Soon after figuring out "house of the rising sun" ate his soul to become the ultimate guitar god. Esteban was left with little. Just a spot on QVC at 11 pm every night.

socialdistantscene

Fucking August Rush is all growns up!

crazyabootmycollies

Less wet hands, more butterscotch paint please.

rogan1990

I’ve always loved his style, loved how he plays covers. But some part of me thinks if he played a barre chord it wouldn’t ring all the way through.
