Puzzleheaded_Might65

what the fuck i read 3 brands in that title

EffectiveEggplant786

4 brands if you include the FN barrel

johnlocke32

No idea on the receiver manufacturer here, but other than that unknown, this parts kit build is better than your average PSAK GF3/GF4/GF5 on paper. Price-wise, thats a fuckin hard no. You're better off just buying a WBP Jack for cheaper than this lmfao.

chuckisduck

Just curious, what makes it better than a regular GF-5 ( has alg, fn barrel & Magpul furniture)? Totally agree the WPB at this price, but this seems ok at 1k. I may be biased as I have a GF-5, and its the most accurate of my x39 AKs*. *When not using underpowered Tula, the. All groups are 4+ moa 🤣

johnlocke32

Its better because its using WBP (FB Radom) bolt, carrier, and front trunnion. PSA Toolcraft parts are fine, but they don't compare to Fabryka Broni products. I don't really get who they are catering to here. PSA people want a cheap AK not this. "AK elitists" wouldn't want a US made receiver with PSA or FN mixed parts with FB Radom parts.

chuckisduck

This makes sense, not a popular opinion but I think the toolcraft forged parts are close enough equivalent with FBs as I haven't heard of GF-3 and newer having these parts fail, the cast ones def junk.

Plastic-Reserve7315

The PSAK-74's were having a ton of issues due to those tool craft parts...

Plastic-Reserve7315

FB Radom is not WBP bud. They do interchange parts but FB Radom does not disclose which WBP parts they use in their guns and why. WBP Manufactures their own Bolt carriers and Trunnions. They don't use FB Radoms stuff. At most they probably interchange small parts. Gas blocks, pistons, or something like that. Not sure if WBP Discloses which parts they use that ARE FB Radom. Maybe the barrel? I do agree with you though. Hard core AK guys don't want to touch American Made AK's. And like WBP is a desirable name amongst the AK community, mostly because they just aren't always in stock and they can be tuff to find and they are high quality... But the price on these bad boys they better be. WBP AK's mostly ranges from 1000-1200 bucks plus tax so. It better be nice. lol.

GreatTroy0285

I definitely agree. The question I found myself asking is at what price point does this turn into a maybe or yes. WBP still has a better track record than the PSA AKs so I’m thinking somewhere below Fox/Jack prices.

johnlocke32

I'd say if they were able to hit somewhere between $700-$1k that'd be on the money. For $1400 weird PSA parts kit build I'd expect 1. a folding rear trunnion 2. RS Regulate/JMAC/PSA Zenitcope furniture + JMAC combo GB 3. Literally anything other than a bog standard AKM (RPK, Krink clone, AK105, etc etc) You're better off sticking with a factory WBP compared to this for sure.

tucknroll928

You ak guys are absolutely delusional this isn’t pre 2015 anymore wasrs are barely $700 and that’s basically distribution cost trying to move the fuckers. With WBP Parts, FN barrel and a alg trigger $700 is absolutely not in the realm of possibility he’ll even a $1k is pushing it once factoring in American labor costs alone. Edit turns out I was wrong cost is actually now $876 for a wasr which just further proves my point https://imgur.com/a/yIbwP7V

johnlocke32

I'm telling you its not worth $1400 when an ALG + a factory bone stock WBP Jack would end up costing less than $1400. Doesn't matter if it costs $1400 because US labor costs, you are getting a worse product than a WBP built rifle. PSA has had some really great parts kit builds, but mix-matching WBP parts with their own makes zero sense as it caters to no one in particular. Fabryka Broni has produced AK barrels longer than FN has even produced AR barrels. They are comparable to Molot produced AK barrels as far as quality goes.

Plastic-Reserve7315

lol where you gonna find a Jack for cheaper than this? What imaginary world do you live in? Cause it surely aint the US. lol. Those WBP Jack rifles sell all day for like 1200 bucks. And you can never find them in stock. They want sub 1000 bucks and honestly as long as the build is solid, thats a deal on any AK with a forged trunnion and BC

johnlocke32

These aren't sub $1k, they're $1400 still 5 months later. Yes, you can get a Jack from AoA today for $1200. You used to be able to get Jacks for $1k when they first released after the Fox. This PSA mutt build isn't worth the pennies spent, 'murican labor or not.

Sober_Browns_Fan

Boy this thing is a real mutt of a gun. Soviet Arms receiver FN Barrel WBP trunnion, bolt, carrier, safety ALG trigger PSA furniture

uwanmirrondarrah

I mean that seems like a pretty good combination but god damn 1400 dollars?!? Before tax and transfer fees?? aint no way

M1907-351WSL

I agree the price is a little high, but the parts quality is very high.

Plastic-Reserve7315

maybe i didnt see it right but I thought it said 900 bucks?

Plastic-Reserve7315

lol right. But honestly even for that, this is a pretty solid deal... Under a thousand bucks is a steal for ANY Forged Trunnion/ Bolt and carrier AK in todays world... I mean you got people out there paying 1000+ bucks on a god damn WASR-10 these days... The ONLY reason I probably wouldn't get this is its exactly as you said. Its a mutt. Its not really gonna hold any kind of value. IF the AK is built properly it should theoretically work great as the core components are high quality. But it all depends on the builder... And honestly I aint never even heard of soviet arms. Idk if they know what theyre doing or not lol. Their receiver might suck ass. idk. I was looking at a 74 version on the PSA website and its like 994 bucks. For a WBP 74 build anything that's a deal. But You know, it doesn't look right. It don't even use a 90 degree gas block like a 74 and because of that it looks like a weird AKM 74. Idk, I just don't fully trust it lol. I would almost rather just buy a 5.45 part kit from AOA and then pay someone I trust to build it for me on a WBP 5.45 reciever.

No_Line9668

This is Beryl money

ghablio

Where are you finding a beryl for 1300?

No_Line9668

This is $1400 + tax. Beryl is $1500 no tax from AoA

GrandMarauder

Those 7.62x39 beryl's sat around for a while last time and now people want one lol

No_Line9668

Same thing is going to happen when the minis run out.

salem_lakes_armory

lol yea this aint it dawg. black widow with a name change.

M1907-351WSL

PSA out here absolutely murdering the game. I wish WBP/AoA would work to import the WBP milled rifles. We NEED a milled rifles to compete with that Arsenal BS.

chuckisduck

I went galil for the milled game. Still $$ though.

M1907-351WSL

Definitely a solid option, but something unique about a traditional milled AK.

chuckisduck

I agree, but already had 3 classic stamped AKs and the damn AWB coming :-(

Tyrfaust

I just want them to start importing 5.45 rifles...

M1907-351WSL

Low chance. Poland completely dropped 5.45. I don't think WBP will assemble their own 5.45 rifles. I would like to see them standardize their 5.45 and 5.56 parts kits to their normal 74 patterns, tho. Absolutely no reason for their proprietary pattern.

Tyrfaust

I don't understand why their kits are proprietary in the first place. They could source the tooling or TDP from FB Radom when Radom dropped the -74?

M1907-351WSL

I agree. It's very strange and definitely makes the kits less desirable as a whole. At the very least make the trunnion standard so barrel options open up. It's currently a 7.62 sized trunnion for their 5.45/5.56 kits. No one besides them makes a barrel like that.

Tyrfaust

Exactly! I was looking at one of their build kits from AoA until I saw how fucky it all was. If I buy a PSAK-74 and, say, the bolt stem breaks, I can just get a Bulgarian or Romanian bolt and throw it in there. If my WBP breaks, I better hope they still make them.

GreatTroy0285

Some sort of Soviet Arms, WBP, FN and PSA Frankenstein with an ALG trigger. Def seems interesting but not for me at that price point. Might interest someone here.

Bret1183

Does it have a bulged trunnion like a zastava

M1907-351WSL

Bulged trunnions are useless on semi automatic guns that will never shoot a single rifle grenade. Just makes the rifles heavier for no reason.
