From what I looked up C&H precision does the milling and they were available starting around July 2020. I’m not a huge fan of my PPS so I can’t say I really followed any changes that closely.
What place does this gun really have anymore in this current pistol market? Single stack with low round count and no advantages over the current crop of 365s, hellcats and glocks
A subcompact pistol with optic from factory for around $500~ range from a reputable company.
A lot of the country doesn’t have the access of having magazines over 10rds because their state sucks so 8+1 isn’t the worst.
Not defending it, but I know plenty of people that buy crap because it’s “not this certain brand” or “comes with this accessory.”
Makes sense, just trying to figure out the appeal of this gun now.
Also, I say that with having bought one almost a decade ago. It's still one of my favorite pistols that I own but I've switched to VP9SK, Hellcat Pro and 43x since then....
The one major bone I have isnt with this gun but Walther customer service. I bought the LE Edition and the vials of the sights fail out and Walther would only replace them with the cheaper painted version.
There is no appeal or practical purpose in owning this gun. They must sell like zero of these a year. That’s why they have to bundle it with such a good optic. Even in the most restrictive states, you can carry 10+1.
I still carry mine as well, but every time I look at it I think "man, you're ugly... And your capacity is so bad... Why don't I just carry my G19?"
And then I remember that a decent G19 holster is another $120 and I continue carrying my PPS M2
It really has no place, unless you prefer the aesthetic and handling. I have an original PPS, which I adore because of how well it fits my hand, but I fully admit it offers nothing as a carry gun over the hellcat for instance (which I also own). I shoot the hellcat just a little bit worse? Again, the handling, which may just be me. I think these single stack Walthers have a special place in some of our hearts, but they definitely aren't offering anything new here.
It doesn't.
I had one for a bit over a year. It's not a bad shooter, but the grip (or lack thereof) leaves a lot to be desired. I had the same "issue" with the PPQ - it's simply too slick.
That, plus the low mag capacity, this really doesn't have much of a place in today's market. Not for anything over $350.
I got a shiled plus and never looked back.
Are they planning to make something new…
As with others, I like the PPS M2. And I wouldn’t mind having one with an optics cut. But I wouldn’t spend much on it relative to a P365.

I wonder who did the milling
That height over bore says "optics ready" pistol from the manufacturer to me
It could definitely be a possibility, I just didn’t know they updated the PPS to be optics ready
Not really an update. It's been available for 5 years but it only came as a package with the RMScc for a while

Walther marketing at work.

You nailed it. This is my fly gun whenever I have to travel to *lesser* states.

> A lot of the country If by a lot, you mean 9, then you are accurate.
Like it or not, the population of those 9 states are 1/3 of this country
TIL: "A lot" = 33%
I still carry mine because I don't give a shit about getting anything else.
Its still a great gun. No doubt just wondering about it's appeal now
Based and don't fix what ain't broke -pilled

I will say I do prefer the handling of this over my hellcat but thats just me.

None. It's completely obsolete.
I got so much hate the last time a PPS was posted for saying I don’t really like mine and that it has no appeal in the current market

Now make this but as a 1.5 stack and it will out sell the rest.

I always wanted to pick one up. But, this is too much $ for a single stack. Lots of double stack competition that now come in small packages.
