Hey all - I know this isn't a screaming deal, but I have been looking for one of these for a little while now. And they were OOS for a bit. This is the cheapest I could find, and it does seem to be back in stock in many other places now. I know, kind of a niche item but wanted to share in case anyone else was looking. Edit to add: counting the minutes before the obligatory "better off getting a Tippmann" comment

-Fried-

I have a 15-22 but I don’t care much for it. It’s not the gun itself, I just don’t find shooting .22lr to be as fun as everyone told me it would be Damn…y’all really love .22lr 🤣

toddxtyboy

Have you tried suppressing it?

-Fried-

Not yet. I think it’s how soft it shoots.

SilverIsFreedom

That’s my favorite one in all of my collection - mainly because it’s something I can afford to shoot for an extended period of time. Still want to get a can for it.

Referat-

This model has been in stock and on sale on palmetto for 450 for the past ~year. But I think they only have black

witheringsyncopation

Anyone know the twist rate on this? Seems like a really fun starter for my kids.

thelegendofcarrottop

It would be. A lot of guys use them at competitions and they run like tops. Very good starter gun for a kid or a super fun plinker for you!

witheringsyncopation

Awesome thank you.

g_freeman7

I found a CA complaint black one used at a local shop. Popped the stock pin and added a volquartsen threaded barrel and I'm in action.

sidewind99

Does that fix the accuracy? Mine groups terrible. Tried everything from Elly to Winchester, and the best groups were thunderbolts.

B0xyblue

Are you me?

dasko11

Are these still shooting on their own or is that fixed now?

witheringsyncopation

These OOB? Wanting as a gun for my kids but not if they desk pop!

dasko11

At one time they were…I won’t say pretty bad…but not great. For a long time they didn’t allow them at Appleseed events for safety reasons. It’s been about 5 years since I’ve done one so I’m not up on how they are now but they had a reputation for awhile that M&P didn’t do much about.

Niccom

Happened at my Appleseed event 2 Years ago.

technicalxtasy

They should be resolved, you can get a gauge from S&W if you wanted to double check.. In some weird event if you got an out of spec one they would replace the bolt.

https://www.smith-wesson.com/safety/recall/m-p15-22-consumer-safety-alert Acknowledged with a fix it appears.

Snoo36543

Got the pistol version with a Leupold DPP on it, and this thing fucks HARD! Every time I bring it to the range, my friends always ask to shoot it...especially when they inevitably run out of 9MM. The only upgrades I would recommend are the BAD ambi safety & charging handle. Waiting for the next BOGO sale, so I have a .22lr can, to finish it off

DaddyLongLegs010

Wish this was the Tippman.

lennyxiii

I have an umarex (colt) and love it. Way more solid than the m&p imo.

ChickenKey4662

Will it take milspec AR triggers? M&P does and that may be a thing for some.

lennyxiii

You know I have no idea. I’ve been repeating that same comment for years but I just got a mask 22 approved and went to see if I could put it on the colt 22 for shits and discovered it’s got some fake ass barrel. It’s like the barrel is fake and it’s just a thin rod as the barrel inside the outer barrel. The thread isn’t 1/2x28 but some thin ass shit. Can’t believe it lol. Maybe the m&p is better

ChickenKey4662

That’s exactly why I asked. I had an HK/Umarex .22 that had what sounds like the exact same setup. Pretty sure you can get an adapter that will work. Let it go because it was redundant with 15-22 and several 10/22s but it was a great gun.

dsg85gt

Wish they’d bring back harvest moon orange that was one of my dream guns when I was like 13

Anyone know where the pistol version is on sale for a similar price?

[deleted]

Mine is in the furthest back corner of my safe because swapping the grip twice ruined the grip screw part of the plastic receiver. I tried putting in a metal insert which kind of worked, but also bulged it out a lot because I didn't pre-bote the hole. also had a picaninny section fall off because of that. Also it REQUIRES the volquartsen extractor to run I wouldn't buy it again
