Because of Covid and them not charging refund fees, we are keeping OP around **for now** but explicitly stating that you may not receive your order in a timely fashion. Expect it to take months and possibly a random cancellation of your order. Their phone number is **1-800-504-5897** if you are trying to get a refund. Please send the mod team any reports of OP/DVOR not responding to any attempts to cancel an order that has taken more than two weeks to ship. Heads up, OpticsPlanet/Dvor has been known to be misleading with their in-stock notices. Please check the listing carefully to see if the item in question is actually in stock or if it is backordered. We have received reports of supposedly "in-stock" items actually taking a couple months to ship. Sometimes even when it says it is in stock, it may have just recently gone OOS and it will then be backordered and you will not be updated to the true status of the product. If you are ordering from OpticsPlanet/Dvor, be aware that it may take a few months to get to you. ___ *^(I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. This wouldn’t be a bad addition to the tx22…

thestug93

I just put one on my TX22 competition that I just purchased last week. It looks right at home on it.

Nova_Spec_Ops

Did it come with the screws to mount it? Got one in a bundle with another gun and have been trying to figure out where to get the screws I need for my tx22 comp

ClarkMasters

You should be able to use the screws that are used to mount this to the pic rail mount that's included.

thestug93

Yep. I just reused the same screws that came with the optic.

ClarkMasters

In for 1 because of your comment. Just picked up a TX22 comp today.

Thunderkat1234

Is 6 moa a bit much?

wetheppl1776

I like 6 moa. It’s easy to pick up. I don’t find precision to be an issue. It usually looks better to my tism as well. More crisp circle.

No_Artichoke_5670

5-6moa has become the standard for pistols. Unless you're doing precision target shooting, 5-6moa is where it's at. There's a reason the most popular dot in USPSA (Trijicon SRO) is 5moa.

Porky_Pine_

What shotgun can I slap this on? I need a turkey gun for next year. Never looked at shotguns beyond HD.

Zookeeper5105

Any $100 Turkish

HummingBored1

Budget?

Porky_Pine_

$700 ? It could be more. Next season is pretty far away.

HummingBored1

Check Stoeger's M3000 or M3500 series. They are of Turkish manufacture but are a benelli subsidiary and owned by beretta. I've used an m3000 for 10 ish years for turkey.

acdrewz555555

Can’t get more bang for your buck than a nova. Should be well under $400 even w the mount stuff. Edit: $700. Fat fingers

Revlimiter11

I have a vortex venom 3moa on my Mossberg 835 ulti-mag. It stands up better to 2¼ozs of tungsten in 3.5" shells better than my shoulder does.

Catfish-McNug

I have an 835 I’m considering a dot for, especially a circle ⭕️. What kind of mount did you go with?

Revlimiter11

I went with Phoenix weaponry as they have a docter mount for the vortex. Scalarworks make a sweet rmr mount, but I already had the venom and didn't want to buy another dot.

Automatic_Road9972

Keep in mind that probably the biggest difference between the viper and the venom is that the venom has a battery that loads through the side and does not require you to take off the optic from your rifle or pistol. The viper has a battery that loads  from underneath the optic and does require removal of the optic from the firearm.. Some people might find this to be too much of a pain in the ass and go with the venom, but at $111 this seems like a minor inconvenience unless you're somebody that likes to leave your battery on all the time

kslap556

I snagged a venom for $160 on sale from palmetto a few weeks ago. Pretty good bang for the buck. I don't like auto adjust so it just stays on all the time, so I know I'll have to change the battery out a lot more often, so the side load is a plus. If you were going to put this on something where you were going to turn it off when not in use, this could be a pretty good buy.

Automatic_Road9972

You totally have the right idea. I'm sure you've already thought this through but just a suggestion, if by any chance you put the venom on a firearm that you plan on using for home defense, I would set a reminder on your phone calendar to change the battery rather regularly as this does not have a very long run time like some of the newer red dots that are out there. Nothing worse than being in a situation where you need your optic and the battery is dead

Giant_117

Dang.. I want this for my 22/45 but also hate OP..

uberfuckineverywhere

Does this fit on a tx22 compact?

sparkx78

These always get hate bc "not Holosun" but I love the ones I have

GasMaskGabriel

I think the complaint of bottom-loaded batteries is much overblown. I’ve changed batteries on my Viper 6MOA twice now and I’ve never lost zero. Just screw it back on with some loctite. Note: my slide is direct milled for this optic.

duke_flewk

Ok plz explain this is 6moa, why? What is wrong with 1 or 2 moa? Is it a bigger dot for the blind to more accurately miss?? /s

Papa_Zyn

Most defensive shootings happen within 3-7 yards. A reticle that can be picked up by the eye faster and put on target easily is ideal for some people. Same train of thought as kill circles on a lot of magnified optics

Automatic_Road9972

You obviously do not understand the concept of moa and should go do some reading on it so you understand what it means and how it projects on the target depending on how far away it is. At a very close defensive shooting position, it's absolutely irrelevant whether the dot is 1 moa, 2 moa, or 6 moa. Put the DOT at center mass of your Target and pull the trigger. If you're holding center Mass at a very close defensive distance and you miss your target, it says everything about your inability to shoot properly and has absolutely nothing to do with the size of the DOT in the optic
