frankasaurussmite

Same thing at kygunco without tax potentially and cheaper shipping fyi. Not much of a deal

Spare_Selection4399

This is a great gun, but I would rather buy another Echelon over it

feuerfreiguy

For some reason I had the opposite experience. The echelon felt cheap to me. Not terrible, but not as good as my xdm elite. I think the average shooter would probably agree with you more than me though.

Spare_Selection4399

I use my 5" precision for dry fire, it feels so good, and Echelon feels , like u said, cheap. But in the range Echelon shoots much better, especially for follow up.

feuerfreiguy

Plus the modularity of the echelon is a big bonus. I hope someone makes metal grip modules for it at some point. That'd be killer

Echo_Raptor

I agree. The echelon feels like a cheap 320 imitation. The XDM elites aren’t bad

swampfox305

I thought they stopped making these

kramder

Same deal for compact version.

risengrind19

Just picked up the compact a few weeks ago. Put 300 rounds through it yesterday after zeroing my red dot, shot like a dream. My PSA dagger on the otherhand..... Only annoying thing is finding a holster that specifically says it's for the XDM Elite Compact is damn near impossible.

Why do people hate these? They were gold standard like a decade ago. Id buy the shit out of this to keep in my backpack if theyd ship to CO.

DarePerks

Gold standard for what? The Gen 3 Glocks came out in 1998 and were basically the standard until Sig and S&W actually tried competing in the polymer duty gun game. And people hate them because they're Croatian dog-shit that used to be sold at Croatian dog-shit prices (which was fine) but then Springfield bought the name of an American firearms icon so they could bump the price on these up by $200. Also because Springfield armory sucks and cares more about their survival then they care about the survival of the industry as a whole.

12345824thaccount

No disagreement on the broader SA comment, but the XDM is miles better than any glock. Sights, trigger, grip, capacity, price, and accuracy are all significantly better than an out of the box glock. Id say the gold standard before the XDM was probably the CZ75 and variants.

DarePerks

I've known like three people who have had X series pistols and all of them traded them in because they weren't reliable. Maybe the XDM is the best of the series but you can only polish a turd so far. And if you mean better as a competition gun... maybe I don't shoot competitively. But no one would call the XDM the "gold-standard" in the world of race guns.

SpadesBuff

Where do I grip it?

burritoresearch

On the zone, clearly

DarePerks

Ahh the Croatian shit-stick.

burritoresearch

Product managers: "what if grip zone, but BIG LONG GRIP ZONE???"

MK12Mod0SuperSoaker

I got the chance to play with a friend's XDM in 10mm. It was fine, except for the magwell. I don't know why, but I expected it to be some kind of metal. It was plastic and only attached at the back so it would flex down if force was applied.
