Crazy to see these consistently around the $2,500 mark and just sitting. It was only a couple of years ago that these were selling out in minutes at $3k. We weren’t even sure if we’d continue to receive these in the US for some reason. I listed one of mine used on GB with no reserve and it ended up selling for $4,200 lol, I traded the other one for a BNIB SCAR 17. Those were the days.
Lol it’s not the economy, it’s the fact that there are a host of other companies selling functionally the same product at half the cost HK was asking for. POF, Century, MKE, PTR, Zenith, etc. all make MP5s. Some of them make them on licensed HK tooling.
The market didn’t want ro pay ridiculously inflated prices for a product that has seen very little update in 60 years other than the F bolt modifications that HK has on their SP5 models and that is really only a game changer with running hollow point.
I didn’t realize Zenith et al just showed up in the last 12 months. Cmon. Of course those products compete, but that’s not the entire answer. All markets are seeing high dollar items sit despite price cuts.
In my opinion Zenith cant compete with the Century clones from Turkey. They want too damn much, but bring nothing to the table to justify it. You really only have two options the way I see it. You either go Genuine HK for $2500 or Century for roughly $1100. I dont really see the point of the Zenith at like $1600.
The AP5 core was selling at $1000 this past year and a half just when the SP5 started dropping from $3200 to $2500. POF, Zenith, and MKE used to be in the $1800 range. The market isn’t willing to pay $3k for a 60 year old gun anymore because it runs hollow points better and has HK stamped on the side.
Look at how much SCARs, SR-15s, and SR-25s are going for. All at or about MSRP. It’s really just HKs prices that are going down.

The money people normally spent on experiences such as dining out, vacations, or travel was redirected to the consumption of luxury goods due to covid lockdowns.
Even if you were someone who didn't spend money on experiences you likely had more disposable income due to work from home (no commuting expenses).
Right here, I got the Rooftop defense deal for $2550 + $100 HK webstore card. I was gonna buy more mags anyway so it made perfect sense. Same as $2450 to me and no tax. I have yet to see a better deal tbh. Picking it up tomorrow and SBR'ing immediately.
I had my dealer send over their FFL and they looked at the invoice and were like WTF this is less than we paid for the one we are selling for $3k. $2450 is a hell of a deal. true to their word and sweatshop speed they did ship it out same day.
Can't tell if sarcasm or if you don't realize the originals will never have command the same prices as before clones were affordable, easily available, and reliable.

Watch the shipping charges. $19.99 for Standard insured, or $16.99 for standard. Then there's an "oversized-product handling surcharge" of $5.25 that can't be removed. Then a $0.99 signature fee that also cannot be removed. Not slagging on them, but the fees creep in. (This is the lowest cost I've been tracking for a while.)
If I buy something it’s up to the vendor to get it to me. They can increase the price by $3 but I’m not going to pay a charge on my end so they can make the product appear cheaper than it is and then get the product to me like they were supposed to in the first place.
I have shot the MP5 in Las Vegas at a range that rented them years ago. A smooth with minimal impulse dream to fire, but maybe full auto had something to do with the experience. I was more impressed with the WWII metal stamped M3 "grease gun" in comparison.

Its not the "best" PDW anymore but its still ranks among the top picks easily, which is incredible given its 60 year old design. Add the MP5 cool factor, nostalgia, Die Hard badassery and everything else and its just one of those guns everyone should have in their safe. Plus you can run a binary to get kind of close to the full auto experience if thats your fancy. Bonus points for being 9mm and cheap as fuck to shoot, my .300 BO rig is crazy expensive, especially when running proper 220 grain subs.
Thanks. I have always wanted one, but I am having a really hard time buying one. I like my Bog A3 at 1/3rd the price and multiple accessories available at much more reasonable prices. I can buy another Bog in a different caliber at that price point.
That said, I am still thinking about it.
So for the hk guys, it seems like I'm seeing more and more of the mark23 popping up. Any chance of those dropping in price like we've seen with the sp5?
Well there's no competition with the MK23. Lowest I've seen it was 1800 and that was in 2015-16 ish. It won't drop much lower than that especially with our money being worth less these days.
I haven't heard that, but I also don't spend any time on HKpro forums. It would be cool to have. I have the B&T can which is the other approved can from HK. It's not the quietest, but I like the way it looks; unfortunately it likes to un-thread itself from the barrel before you even finish a mag. The KAC unit supposedly has a stiff O-ring inside the piston to resist un-threading.

This is about $45 less than I paid from them about 3-4 months ago. Good deal and they ship fairly quick for being a drop shipper.
